I have just ordered dh a t shirt to replace a favourite one he bought in the States many years ago that is falling to pieces. He will love this.
Other than that and the usual toblerone/beer I have no idea what to get him!
My dad is also hard to buy for so I just wondered what everyone else was getting for male relatives/partners for a bit of inspiration!

Snow boots for apres ski. It’s nice when there’s something he needs and hasn’t bought himself!

I had a big success last year with an ooni

Cas112 · 01/11/2021 14:44

Fitbit

Thethreecs · 01/11/2021 14:46

Well definitely a football Jersey. I washed his the other day and all the logo came off 😳😳😳😳 he hasn't noticed yet.

Roystonv · 01/11/2021 14:49

Magazine subscription, an experience, any sport/hobby accessories

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 01/11/2021 14:53

A toilet.
As he has requested.

TertiusLydgate · 01/11/2021 14:55

I'm thinking about a Sage bean-to-cup coffee machine.

He's easy to please, so would be happy with anything.

YorkieTheRabbit · 01/11/2021 14:56

So far it’s stocking fillers I’ve bought
Whisky
Laptop cleaning kit
Shower steamers
Personalised pen made from a wooden whisky barrel, it’s from Devon Pens, which was recommended on another thread so thanks to that poster
Bag of Jelly Belly beans
Silicone cable ties
L’occitane lavender soap
Pedometer, he wouldn’t wear a Fitbit but wants to know his steps
Taylor’s of Bond Street shaving cream and shaving brush
Clarins aftershave balm
Colour change pine cones for the stove
He like practical stuff has all the tech he needs, is in his 60’s

HKV76 · 01/11/2021 14:59

I’ve got my DP a Phillips perfect draft and a keg to go in it. Bit pricy but he deserves it and I hope he’ll love it. Other than that I’ve got him some chilli chocolate and im going to get him some shower steamers, a spicery box, bacon subscription and maybe some aftershave and/or new jeans

girlmom21 · 01/11/2021 15:01

I suggested we got each other a surprise with a limited budget this year then 10 minutes later he asked for clothes but told me not to pick them without me because he's fussy!

Makes my life easy I guess Grin

DentalWorries · 01/11/2021 15:01

A Whiskey Me subscription for my dad although I’m waiting for a potential Black Friday deal as it’s quite pricey full price

FireworkParrot · 01/11/2021 15:10

For DH I've currently bought a lock picking set and some bamboo seamless socks. I'm planning on buying him a bottle of whiskey and one of the metre boxes of jaffa cakes but other than that I'm stuck for ideas so am on this board for inspiration!

For DF I've got him a framed photo of DD1 (her first school photo as she started Reception this year), a cookbook and a really warm blanket.

LayTheTableMabel · 01/11/2021 15:13

Boat lesson & a vintage lamp

pompomsgalore · 01/11/2021 15:15

A mushroom foraging identification experience

mildlymiffed · 01/11/2021 15:18

As per the old mantra:

  • something he wants: fish cooking class at billingsgate market
  • something he needs: new sports T-shirt (his old one is super pongy!)
  • something to wear: a dry robe
  • something to read: a fancy fish cook book!

Quite a fish based Christmas for him!

PositiveLife · 01/11/2021 15:19

DP: a couple of t-shirts, some golf balls, golf tees, golf tee bag, plus some stocking filler bits

Dad: not a f'ing clue. He says to spend it on the kids instead when I ask what he'd like 🙄. He has no hobbies, spends his time caring for my mum, they live on a basic state pension. I want to get something but no idea what you but for people who do literally nothing.

72WayTooCool · 01/11/2021 15:27

Tickets for a show he's wanted to see for ages together with lunch at a nice restaurant before the show.

BreathingDeep · 01/11/2021 15:52

DH: a very special watch he's had his eye on for a long, long time. Plus some whisky truffles and a bottle of rum.

DS (aged 20): some new joggers, t-shirts, a smart polo shirt and some aftershave he's run out of. Then an assortment of stocking fillers such as a Costa gift card, jelly beans, chocolates, toiletries, etc.

DF: a coffee machine, jointly between him and my mum

Other DF: concert tickets or an experience of some kind for him and his partner

HumbugWhale · 01/11/2021 15:54

Some great ideas here, thank you. Dh would like several of the things mentioned.
I'd forgotten we will have school photos too - first one with all three dcs in it so those will actually be good gifts for both sets of grandparents with some nice frames.

New walking boots - as requested
Thermal socks to go with boots
Heated throw - he feels the cold!

Dh would like all of these. I didn't know you could get a bacon subscription! He has a birthday quite soon after xmas so this has given me loads of ideas.

What are shower steamers?

HumbugWhale · 01/11/2021 16:13

@DentalWorries

What are shower steamers?
I just googled them. They are like bath bombs but you place them in the shower tray and they release aromatherapy oils. Never mind dh, I would enjoy those!! I have also just found some lovely plastic-free shaving kits with nice shaving soap that I think he would like.

A laptop bag and cable tidy thing
Woodcarving mag subscription (he goes to a class)
Bidet toilet attachment (seriously)

SlateCoaster · 01/11/2021 16:18

It's DH's first Christmas as a dad. I've had a large bespoke photo album made, embossed with DC's name and date of birth. Going to fill it with photos from DC's birth up until Christmas.

PetrovYelyenaAndMe · 01/11/2021 16:20

DH regularly loses his wallet so I thought I’d get him an AirTag or similar tracking device. Does anyone have any experience of how well they work?
