I have just ordered dh a t shirt to replace a favourite one he bought in the States many years ago that is falling to pieces. He will love this.
Other than that and the usual toblerone/beer I have no idea what to get him!
My dad is also hard to buy for so I just wondered what everyone else was getting for male relatives/partners for a bit of inspiration!

We’re on a £30 budget for gifts for each other this year. I’ll buy him a selection of ales and some jazzy pants, he likes horribly bright patterned ones.

earsup · 01/11/2021 22:19

the usual...chanel allure sport fragrance....moaned that the one i got last year was a fake...!!....i dont use it so dont know...

galacticpixels · 01/11/2021 23:16

For DP:

Rugby jersey
Secrid wallet
Yeti tumbler
Boxset of the Witcher books

I'll also get him some kind of Lego set, and a L'occitane set.

I've got my brother a puzzle game called Katamino. DP's dad is getting concert tickets.

Flouts1 · 01/11/2021 23:47

@ok1more
Tile are brilliant I have one for my keys and phone as I’m always losing them

OrangeJuiceAndNoodles · 01/11/2021 23:50

.

Ponceyponce · 02/11/2021 09:09

@ok1more thankyou for the great Idea, DP is always loosing his wallet so this is a perfect present. It seems awfully boring but he loves practical things so will probably enjoy it.
Any suggestions for a wine lover? my budget is pretty limited but I was thinking perhaps a few small tasting bottles or a book on regions. I just don't know where to start. Other interests include cars, camping and kitchen gadgets but he very much likes to buy the best of everything and could usually afford a better version of anything I buy so multiple small nick nacks are usually best

fantasmasgoria1 · 02/11/2021 09:28

A semi expensive item of equipment for his hobby, couple of items of clothing, box set, a few smaller stocking filler type items. I hope he doesn't change his mind about the hobby item otherwise I have to think again!

FireworkParrot · 02/11/2021 15:01

@Ponceyponce how about a bottle top wine aerator like this one? I've got a very similar one and you just put it on the top of a bottle of red wine and pour it. I've tried with and without and it tastes so much better with, it's one of the best little gadgets I've bought.
@TabbyBeast, I’ve bought a load of shower steamers from Bubble and Bathe and recommended on another thread too. I bought my DS some peppermint scented ones which aren’t girlie smelling. There’s also some fun Christmas scents like gingerbread, chocolate which are lovely too and not floral or fruity.
I got them from bubble and bathe on etsy too. I wanted some more so I went to their actual website and there was a 10% discount. I'm sure it was www.bubbleandbathe.co.uk

CoffeeChocolateWine · 02/11/2021 16:41

My DH and I only have a small budget for each other this year as we’re buying something for the house as a joint present to each other. So far I’ve bought him a couple of books - Richard Osman’s new one and Dave Grohl’s autobiography. Will buy something else but not sure what yet.

My DF I find tricky, but he loves birds/birdwatching so I’ve bought him a Metalbird which I hope he’ll like. I also need a birthday present for him before Christmas though, so will be taking inspiration from this thread! He loves anything to do with birds, nature, golf, gardening and baking!

CoffeeChocolateWine · 02/11/2021 16:48

@Not2daySatan, I did the same…bought from Etsy first then ordered more through the website with the discount. My DS, DD and all my nieces are getting shower steamers as part of their present this year!

pompomsgalore · 02/11/2021 18:40

Everyone getting shower steamers here now with discount code BUBBLE10.

HumbugWhale · 02/11/2021 19:44

Thanks for the shower steamer discount codes!

@CoffeeChocolateWine I got my mum Bill Bailey's bird book for her birthday and she loves it. He has written 1-2 pages on each different bird and it's quite humorous, also he has illustrated it all himself. Nice gift for a bird person. RSPB website also has nice gifts like mugs and things. Last year I got a bird table and bird food gift box for my gift from dh!

@Flambola where did you get the bidet attachment from? Sounds intriguing but for me Smile

stealthninjamum · 02/11/2021 20:07

So far I have got dp a Kuddly (ie a cheaper version of an oodie). I’ve bought four Kuddlies so one for me too and dc.

I’ve also got some hotel chocolate for him and similar boxes for dc as well.

Then I’m stuck. Would like to get something a bit more personalised to him but he’s a typical hard to buy for man.

Timeisavirtue · 02/11/2021 22:43

DS - gaming laptop, new keyboard, new mouse, alton towers monopoly, switch game, as well as some other bits and pieces.
DP- trainers, dvd he wanted, weighted blanket, 2 pairs of trackies, some hotel chocolat chocs, lush

MrsPerfect12 · 02/11/2021 23:32

I bought my DH a perfect draft machine so far. Will buy him other bits when I see what ideas come up in this thread hopefully

CoffeeChocolateWine · 02/11/2021 23:36

@HumbugWhale, thanks so much for the recommendation! My Dad is a fan of Bill Bailey so that could be a perfect gift for him!

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 02/11/2021 23:43

I have bought my DH a blacksmith experience working in a forge, he will love it, feeling rather pleased with myself that I'll get good wife points

Flambola · 02/11/2021 23:51

It’s this one - sorry don’t know how to link from app! DH found it himself and wants to give it a go.

I’m secretly pleased because I LOVE a bidet.

Parkmama · 02/11/2021 23:58

I bought my DH a coffee advent calendar:

www.perkulatte.com/product/christmas-coffee-advent-calendar/

I also bought him "Best Wishes, Warmest Regards; The Story of Schitt's Creek"

I'm also going to buy him:

 • Nanopresso
 • hot chilli sauce
 • walking socks
 • accessories for his pasta machine
 • new trainers
RavingAnnie · 03/11/2021 01:00

@PersephoneJames

Snow boots for apres ski. It’s nice when there’s something he needs and hasn’t bought himself!

I had a big success last year with an ooni

Which snow boots are you going for?
Ponceyponce · 03/11/2021 06:24

@FireworkParrot thanks we actually got given one of those last year but it was useless and the wine always leaked and dripped all over the place. Perhaps I should look for a better one

Itsnotgreatlike · 03/11/2021 06:27

I only have one man in my life, my husband, and he's getting an expensive bottle of whiskey, something he would never buy for himself because its too extravagant.

desperatehousewife21 · 03/11/2021 06:54

humbugwhale thanks for the bird book recc, looks really good! Going to get for DF for his bday which is coming up.

Really struggling with what to get DH for Xmas this year…he doesn’t even have any ideas for what he wants either. I’m looking at a Venom tee but currently out of stock for his size.
Hoping Black Friday will give me some inspiration.
We’ve both been trying out different rums recently so going to get him a large bottle of Kraken. Other than that, I’m stuck!
