I have just ordered dh a t shirt to replace a favourite one he bought in the States many years ago that is falling to pieces. He will love this.
Other than that and the usual toblerone/beer I have no idea what to get him!
My dad is also hard to buy for so I just wondered what everyone else was getting for male relatives/partners for a bit of inspiration!

Gig tickets

VanillaSpiceCandle · 01/11/2021 16:34

@PositiveLife

DP: a couple of t-shirts, some golf balls, golf tees, golf tee bag, plus some stocking filler bits

Dad: not a f'ing clue. He says to spend it on the kids instead when I ask what he'd like 🙄. He has no hobbies, spends his time caring for my mum, they live on a basic state pension. I want to get something but no idea what you but for people who do literally nothing.

@PositiveLife your dad sounds so sweet! Would he like a TV subscription like Netflix or Prime? Or if he’s doing all the cooking maybe a meal kit for a couple of months like Gousto/vouchers for takeaways/ready meals if he doesn’t cook?

@Aroundtheworldin80moves

I've got to ask but.... what's so good about the toilet that your DH has requested? Is it one that washes & dries everything?

Or are you getting another toilet installed in your home just for his use?

TabbyBeast · 01/11/2021 16:42

Can anyone recommend where to get shower steamers? I can only find ones which are quite girlie. Thanks!

I got DH a jumper that comes with a powerbank which heats the shoulder and waist at the back and a fake ooodie

xmasturkey · 01/11/2021 16:44

Camping toilet. So glorified bucket really... plus a tent for it.

Personally I prefer the 10 minute trek to the toilet block to use something that flushes...

PositiveLife · 01/11/2021 17:09

@VanillaSpiceCandle I wish. Neither of them can use their smart TV and they're both really fussy eaters. Last year I got him vouchers for cheese from a cheese factory 😂 (he liked that cos they like a day out to the cheese factory but covid meant they ended up just phoning an order in)

DentalWorries · 01/11/2021 17:11

Oohh shower steamers sound interesting, DP loves a long shower. A Bluetooth shower speaker that cost me £10 on Amazon was his best ever present last year.

For anyone looking for a laptop case, I bought DP this one for his birthday and it’s very good quality. They also have 20% off at the moment with code XMAS21

Had to search out this topic because it's 1st November and I need to think about Christmas. My own men are hard enough but there will be family visiting who I don't know very well and I would like to buy something other than a bottle of wine.
DC both have their own homes.
Some ideas so far
DS1 (25) a thing to clip his phone to dashboard. A set of knives.
DS2 (23) a PS5 game, a set of lights that plug in and go around the tv.
DH (72) a rechargeable LED headtorch for when he's got the computer to bits.
Nephew - a selection of fancy teas,
Niece - some knitting yarn
I like the sound of shower steamers for everyone.

YorkieTheRabbit · 01/11/2021 18:16

TabbyBeast I got some from Over the moon scents, breathe easy and cool down which is supposed to help aching muscles.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 01/11/2021 18:38

I struggle every year with DH, hard to buy for anyway but also has a birthday same time of year.
I bought him a jumper last year which he really liked (rare occurrence!), might buy same in another colour. A few DIY bits and pieces as a subtle hint. Maybe a more expensive Gin than he'd usually buy.
Then am stuck. Read all the relevant threads and little inspiration so far.

Mosky · 01/11/2021 19:11

Well I had a wander around etsy and have ordered several sets of shower steamers for sons, BIL, nephew etc. Also got some car fragrance things a bit of a step up from the ones the car wash guys give out.

Buddyhobbs · 01/11/2021 19:22

CoffeeChocolateWine · 01/11/2021 19:31

@TabbyBeast, I’ve bought a load of shower steamers from Bubble and Bathe and recommended on another thread too. I bought my DS some peppermint scented ones which aren’t girlie smelling. There’s also some fun Christmas scents like gingerbread, chocolate which are lovely too and not floral or fruity.

SnowWhitesSM · 01/11/2021 19:37

Oh my oh would love those shower steamers! Haven't heard of them before.

HumbugWhale · 01/11/2021 19:38

A coffee subscription was a hit with dh last year. I might get him another or a subscription for something else.

@PetrovYelyenaAndMe

DH regularly loses his wallet so I thought I’d get him an AirTag or similar tracking device. Does anyone have any experience of how well they work?
Just ordered these for my DP. I got him the Tile mate. 2 for £38.
