I have just ordered dh a t shirt to replace a favourite one he bought in the States many years ago that is falling to pieces. He will love this.
Other than that and the usual toblerone/beer I have no idea what to get him!
My dad is also hard to buy for so I just wondered what everyone else was getting for male relatives/partners for a bit of inspiration!

DH has just asked for a wireless charger if that helps anyone for ideas

desperatehousewife21 · 10/11/2021 13:42

DH has put Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy PS5 game on our shared Amazon wishlist. He’s a big gamer so this will be a just released, hot new game if anyone has a DH/ DS who is really into gaming.

Leah2005 · 10/11/2021 17:20

@Flambola sorry - just noticed you'd replied to me. Thanks for the link-I love a bidet but really can't imagine a cold squirt up my foof Grin. You'll have to keep us updated.

HumbugWhale · 10/11/2021 20:25

@desperatehousewife21 thank you, Kent is quite far from us (Birmingham). I think there are other Diggerlands though??

@Cherryrainbow Thanks for the GTA idea, perfect for our son and thanks to whoever mentioned those shower steamers too, have purchased a few packs from Etsy including one for myself Grin

I was hoping to win ballot for DHs main gifts for 150th Open next year, so far heard nothing, it's still being drawn but I'm slightly pleased as accommodation nearby is nearly fully booked and sky high prices.

So far:
Dozen titelst golf balls
Minimist golf print (etsy)
Golf christmas t-shirt (asda, he wouldn't wear it in public but more for christmas night at home)
Hotel chocolat
Need alternative main gift (probably a gift card for American golf)

FIL:
Snaffling pig gift set
National trust membership

DB:

Framed print by a local artist he collects

SON in law:

*X box 20th anniversary edition wireless controller
*ikea wooden hand ( it's the new one from their gaming collection, the hand holds your headset or controller

  • reeses selection box *family gift for sil, dd,gd (cinema & restaurant gift card)

This. DH has built lots of these models and they keep him occupied and out of my hair for a few days! Oh and a multi tool jobbie for his bike…oh and socks, always asks for them tho he’s got a drawer full 🙄

WinterFirTree · 12/11/2021 19:34

Some great ideas here.

I might look into a mushroom foraging experience for DH. One year I bought him a breadmaking course.

For me I might ask for a one year netflix subscription. I have no idea (I have been asking for some money to put into my special savings account I have ring fenced for family holidays but DH is refusing based on the idea that it's not a present for me, per se. He might go for a netflix thingie as he does not watch tv and I want to catch up on The Crown).

Maskless · 13/11/2021 04:16

A rechargeable, cordless, stick vacuum cleaner.

Maskless · 13/11/2021 04:19

Male friend - by request - one blue fluffy thick bath towel.

BiBabbles · 13/11/2021 10:44

Most guys, I end up buying food and/or vouchers for games or books.

My spouse has been looking at mattress toppers and those electric massage pads that can be used in a chair or lying down with heat - basically something he can lay on that will help with his aches and pains. I'll likely get one or other or maybe both, though I keep thinking it should be possible to find a mattress topper with those features though I'm not sure how comfortable that would end up being...

ValentineC · 13/11/2021 10:52

I have no idea what to get DH this yr either!
I’ve bought other male family members :
Aftershave (from Boots, Superdrug & Debenhams)
Toiletry gift sets (Boots)
World Beers set (Home Bargains)
Adidas T-shirt (Sports Direct)
Adidas Hoodie (JD Sports)
Whisky (Tesco)
Razor pack with 10 blades (Boots)
Comedy Autobiography Book (Amazon)

WinterFirTree · 13/11/2021 11:06

Oh, one year I bought my parents a falconry course. They LOVED it.

I have just sent off for info on a mushroom/forest foraging course for DH thanks to this thread. :)

LindaEllen · 13/11/2021 11:22

A retro arcade games machine (full size) for our summer house.

Chickoletta · 13/11/2021 11:24

Have bought DH a new Garmin watch which he suggested. Will get other bits like socks, nice drinks, book, choc etc.

Struggling with male best friend. He is single and quite well off so tends to buy himself what he needs/wants. Can’t be too wifey as not appropriate. He’s not sporty. Other people buy him nice wine, food etc.

Spacerader · 13/11/2021 11:28

So far for dp I have-

Tickets to liam Gallagher at Knebworth (he was devastated when i pretended I couldn't get any because they were sold out)

Vinyl

New sun glasses

The obligatory pants and socks

A new black beaded braclet

Trainers

He will also have his usual top up of aftershave, toiletries etc. But thats it as his liam Gallagher tickets cost almost £300. (Me and dp do tend to spend alot on each other on occasions like Christmas, birthdays etc. Its really not a brag, we just don't tend to spend alot on ourselves any other time and why should the kids have all the fun)

I have a ds 16 as well

He mostly had tech, he sent me his amazon wish list the other day after me begging for it. It was literally full of various cables, an alarm clock and some fake plants. I really had to question if he still was a teen 🤣 but he really does not like things that do not serve a purpose or anything which has novelty value. He is very practical.

Any way after that long unnecessary back story, ds so far has

Occulus
Samsung ear buds
A new mouse mat (his choice, I was also a bit 😯 over how expensive mouse mats can get)
Usual pants and socks (always fancier ones at christmas)
Clothes
Various cables
Fake plants

Men's/boys gift never seem as exciting.

Holly60 · 13/11/2021 11:31

Place marking

HumbugWhale · 13/11/2021 12:54

Dh is currently going through all the Christmas recipes planning what to bake so I might get him a Doves flour box and maybe some posher ingredients than we would normally get.

Tickets to see Stewart Lee and a tea towel. Last of the big spenders.

Cheddarcheeseandsodabread · 13/11/2021 13:26

I've bought my DP a square foot of land at Dunans Castle and also a signed deed from there which allows him to call himself a Lord actually, that may not be such a good idea in retrospect! Wink

TatianaBis · 13/11/2021 13:27

3 jumpers, waterproof walking shoes, sheepskin slippers, hat, coffee pot warmer, books, shower gel, spiced plum gin, pate, cheese, chocolate.

ancientgran · 13/11/2021 14:25

A tin of Quality St orange creams and another tin of strawberry creams. He loves them but we usually get left with lots of the ones he rejects. The tins have his name on.

TowerOfGiraffes · 14/11/2021 00:45
