Great thread! Mine are really hard to buy for, us I don’t have much money…. So far have got:
DF (in his 90s, has dementia):
Photo coasters featuring DD, who is his beloved only grandchild.
DVD of Unforgiven, as miraculously my mum mentioned the film to him the other day and he knew it was a Clint Eastwood film (he remembers nothing these days, and can’t have seen it for years. Plus he used to love Westerns).
My partner (who is very non-materialistic and never really wants anything):
A framed print of our favourite poem that we bonded over when we first met.
A framed postcard of the place we first kissed. (See a theme emerging here)
A second hand copy of Down and Out in Paris and London, as he we’ve talked about it and he’s never read it.
A red bandana I don’t think he’ll wear but I think he would look hot in it.
A key-ring featuring the flag for his sexuality (he is not heterosexual. Neither will he especially want this - I just got excited when I learnt it had a flag!)
A couple of more intimate gifts I won’t describe here, which are just as much for me!
DB (who is hard to buy for as he is just a bit weird, tho nice too).
A second hand jigsaw, and I was then informed today by mom that he only did them in lockdown.
A mug featuring Meghan Markle, who he has a massive crush on…..
These are basically a pretty shit selection of gifts when I look at them written down! I will trawl this thread to come up with other ideas.
Also need to buy for:
My male best friend - unless I can think of a book he’d like might just get something for his dogs, as I do every year.
My former step-son who is mid-twenties - all I can think of is a t-shirt featuring cats, which I get him every year….
ARGH!
