Just that really, which day are you going to brave it on?

Thursday morning

Madbengalmum · 19/12/2017 17:41

Yes, probably a good option Thursday, trying to avoid sat, when i think it will be busiest.

Deliveries from Sainsbury's on Thursday and Saturday plus collections from M&S and Booths on Sat too.

TittyGolightly · 19/12/2017 17:43

Not doing one. Already got eggs and baked beans in.

Chrisinthemorning · 19/12/2017 17:44

We have ordered meat from the butcher to collect on Sat am. I did a huge Aldi/ Morrisons shop yesterday and froze lots of things. All the cheese/ cream etc had dates well into January.
I need sprouts, carrots, potatoes, salad bag, cherry tomatoes and fresh fruit at the end of the week.

Isadora2007 · 19/12/2017 17:45

Some tomorrow and some Thursday I think. Have most bits already and stuff that can be frozen has been.

KCWW · 19/12/2017 17:45

Dh arranged delivery for Thursday afternoon. If he wants/needs anything else, I shall leave him to it!

Madbengalmum · 19/12/2017 17:46

chris, you are very organised! Sounds a good plan.

Thursday morning. Out as soon as the supermarket opens, long list in hand Xmas Grin

iammeegan · 19/12/2017 17:50

Don't need to this year, mil doing food Christmas Eve, Dm doing Christmas dinner and we've been gifted so much chocolate and other junk food we'll be sorted!
Very glad this year as it's tight

ButtMuncher · 19/12/2017 17:50

We've got an M&S order for the main bits and I have two days off work Thursday/Fri to finish the rest off. I have two kids who despite eating well will probably protest at turkey sandwiches (tbh, so would I) so I'll need to get the basics in.

Oh, and the alcohol. Am hoping if I head up early enough Friday morning it'll be done and dusted by lunchtime.

TalkingSheds · 19/12/2017 17:51

Delivery Saturday Xmas Smile

PurpleTraitor · 19/12/2017 17:52

It’s done, the cupboard with the dried and non-perishable is stocked, the wine rack is full and there’s a couple of boxes of lager and tonic etc. The fresh stuff is ordered and coming Saturday evening, nothing else to do.

Ginmakesitallok · 19/12/2017 17:54

We're at sil's for Xmas dinner and dmils on boxing day - so I haven't really thought abut it. Probably go Friday for few bits.

NoParticularPattern · 19/12/2017 17:54

I’ve done the majority in Lidl this morning. Just need a few bits closer to the day like veg/ butter and such. But pretty much sorted as dates were really good on everything that I saw, I just won’t have room to store this week’s veg and extra for Christmas Day between now and then.

Babyg1995 · 19/12/2017 17:55

Thursday then just get the fresh stuff on Christmas Eve

PurpleTraitor · 19/12/2017 17:55

Oh and I’ve got a large ham use by January, and frozen veg, so if something happened to my delivery I can still do dinner for the 12 I’ve got coming.

Of course it probably won’t, so we’ll have the ham New Year’s Day. When I’ve ten more coming. Four extras Boxing Day and 27th. And 30 for new year. no wonder the shop is nearly £200

beyondworriedmum · 19/12/2017 17:59

Got bits and pieces yesterday which I had to hide out in the fridge in the shed as would be eaten before Christmas 😂 rest on Friday ordered turkey to be uplifted then refuse to shop after Friday tbh can't stand the mad rush at the end!

SheGotBetteDavisEyes · 19/12/2017 18:03

Got a few things stashed away. Pick up turkey, ham, sausages and bacon from the farm on Christmas Eve, everything else being delivered on 23rd.

I'm not stepping foot in a shop unless I can help it!

earlybirdhasanap · 19/12/2017 18:04

Our ocado shop comes Thursday morning. I've probably missed something off as usual and end up in a shop at some point but I'm really hoping not!

PoisonousSmurf · 19/12/2017 18:05

At 5am on Saturday morning. Quick rush around local Tesco Extra and out before the crowds arrive Grin

BeyondAssignation · 19/12/2017 18:06

Getting everything we can tomorrow, so we only need to get leftover bits on Friday.

MyBrilliantDisguise · 19/12/2017 18:12

Aren't you having a Christmas dinner, Titty?

TittyGolightly · 19/12/2017 18:16

Nope. More important things to do this year.

isittheholidaysyet · 19/12/2017 18:16

Most was done and the freezer/cupboard/fridge a while ago.

I'll probably go on Friday for veg, cream and cold meats, (which had too short a date when I last looked.
