Just that really, which day are you going to brave it on?

OP posts:

Friday night or Saturday night. I work in a supermarket so will pick up what I need after I finish. I have some of the non perishables and most of the dinner has been done and put in the freezer but no turkey, sprouts, cream, salad, cheese or drinks.

Oh, I still need quite a bit. Shock

MammaAgata · 20/12/2017 10:51

I have an Ocado order arriving Saturday afternoon. At least then I've still got Sunday to do any last minute forgotten items etc. First year I've ordered online and quite excited by it all really.. sad or what?

Silverthorn · 20/12/2017 11:06

Click and collect today. Pick up meat from the farm on saturday. Probably pop in for forgotten stuff on friday morning with 2 small dc. Madness. Can't send hubby because he will moan about buying chocs and stuff. Wink

Amira21 · 20/12/2017 11:06

Amira21 · 20/12/2017 11:10

Chienrouge well there is six of us and i just wanted to have as much possible so the kids wont wear me out.It gets crazy in our house when the kids arent distracted with eating snacks and watching movies.

BiddyPop · 20/12/2017 11:17

I have an online shop ordered for tomorrow evening - covers the basics like fruit, veg, bread etc, some milk for over the weekend, (and a nice steak for DH and I).

I have to get to 3 smaller shops (delis and Leonidas) tomorrow or Friday for a few specific bits.

I have to brave that same supermarket on Saturday to collect the turkey (but should have very little else to get).

I have very sensibly agreed to bag pack for Scouts at the very large supermarket slightly farther away on Saturday - so if I need any other bits, I can do them there before collecting the turkey, or at the local one with the turkey, depending on how mad the big one is.

I intend going nowhere near a shop on Sunday.

Fffion · 20/12/2017 11:19

Christmas Eve.

I shop every day anyway.

CottonSock · 20/12/2017 11:23

Delivery tonight and saturday. Might have to go to shop for the meat and I'm dreading it

Gazelda · 20/12/2017 11:23

Tesco delivering on Thursday,8am.

Like Biddy, I've volunteered to do a charity Bag pack on Thursday and Friday, so I can pick up any last minute bits while I'm there.

He-man will do Booths shop when vegan daughter arrives.

Otherwise will get veggie box delivered tomorrow. Go to local butcher on Friday /Saturday for sausages etc can't order but have plenty. Went shopping for things like toilet roll, cleaning stuff already and jars. Cake made just need to ice but have everything as did church one three weeks ago. Sons to bring fish course if they want it. Vegan soup for others. Ingredients bought. One box of sweets and usually get given some. Wine was ordered last month and has arrived only drank one bottle so far...just to make sure it was ok. Need to make mince pies have homemade mincemeat from last year and have plenty flour. Don't need to do massive shop thank goodness. Just go locally to nearby bigger village and buy from independents. Lovely welcome no big quues or badly behaved children / adults.

Nanasueathome · 20/12/2017 11:37

Waitrose on 22nd
Booths on 22nd
Both deliveries
Collect from M&S on 23rd

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 20/12/2017 11:45

Mine's all been done online. Most of it has just been delivered, the goose arrives tomorrow, and I have a click and collect order booked for Saturday.

If there are any things we have forgotten, I plan on sending either dh or one of the boys to brave the shops. I have also booked a delivery for the Saturday after Christmas, to do that week's shopping, so I shouldn't have to set foot in a supermarket until next year!

MycatsaPirate · 20/12/2017 11:50

Meat ordered in butchers and pick up Sunday morning. Includes eggs, stuffing (already made for us) and pigs in blankets etc.

Food shop will be braved today as DP is off work. He is back at work tomorrow and I am NOT going to go shopping on my own at this time of year. I need someone to help me breathe through my panic attacks in the mass of people.

I have a List. We will probably not stick to the List. Dp is paying.

He is currently out last minute present buying with my two DDs. I am going for a hot bath.

I fucking hate shopping.

idontlikealdi · 20/12/2017 11:54

Order arriving tomorrow evening, will go Friday late evening if anything missing. Collect turkey Saturday morning.

Wants · 20/12/2017 11:56

I was hoping to do it tomorrow but currently laid up with a bad back😩

onlyonaTuesday · 20/12/2017 11:57

Did Tesco at 11pm last night.
It was lovely and quiet.
Got a collection at 530 on Saturday for my M&S stuff and then I’m done

MistyMinge · 20/12/2017 12:01

I did a big shop on Monday but will probably go again on Friday after work to get fresh stuff and booze. At in laws for Xmas day but got about 15 at ours on boxing day, also friends and their DC on nye. I don't want to go near a shop at the wkend.

Potteryprincess30 · 20/12/2017 13:34

We were thinking of getting all our vegetables and a meat joint this afternoon, do people think that's too early? Worried the veg will be out of date or in a sad state by Monday

spiderlight · 20/12/2017 14:01

We've got all our nice bits and the makings of our nut roast - just need to nip and get the veg, probably tomorrow evening.

jlbcredit · 20/12/2017 14:07

last year I went to waitrose first thing to get a nice chicken (prefer it to turkey) and other fresh things. Was hardly anything there, only one free range one that would just about last till Xmas day
Went back that afternoon as had left something there and it was all restocked and full of lovely fresh things!

Have got a strategy all planned out : Sainsburys delivery Saturday for basic stuff, m and s in town on Friday (I know it will be chaos but we have a tradition of getting some m and s stuff) then see what we haven't got by Sat afternoon and go to other m and s or waitrose...

ChristmasAddict · 20/12/2017 14:34

Most arrived this morning and have frozen anything with a short use by date. Pick up the M&S order on Saturday morning :)

BeyondAssignation · 20/12/2017 14:40

Got to the supermarket at 11, spent two hours there.
Popped to another one for the missing bits, got McDonald's in the way home, and now we are done (and I'm sat eating my burger!)

ARichVernacular · 20/12/2017 14:58

Did most of ours this morning. Veg box is coming tomorrow, cheese arrived yesterday. We have of course drunk the Christmas wine so will send DH for some more on Friday, he can pick up any fresh stuff we're missing while he's there.

Vitalogy · 20/12/2017 14:59

I've been getting non perishable food/drink for the past month, any special offers on stuff I wanted. Then the last fresh food over then next 3 days, bits each day as I pass Tesco on the way home from work. Fresh custard and a fresh chicken with use by dates after the 25th are my main wants. They'd ran out of sour cream and chive dip the other day, so hoping they'll have some more stock in! Gotta have that to go with my vegetable spring rolls.
