girlwiththeyellowhats do we have any news yet?

Fifth thread already, how did that happen?! I?ve booked our panto tickets now so am feeling very festive Grin . Tips I learnt from the last thread number 24837 - wrap a huge cardboard box in christmas gift wrap to put all the rubbish on christmas day in rather than a bin bag so you don?t get a black plastic sack in all of the photos

Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

WorkingtoohardMama · 03/09/2013 12:21

Thanks for the 24 book set, just ordered it - love the idea of a 1st December hamper - think I can sense an eye roll from dh when I mention it!

weebarra · 03/09/2013 12:25

Thanks for the new thread reastie. Bought some goodies from the magpie site on sunday night but haven't had an acknowledgement - anyone else?

iloveholidays · 03/09/2013 12:36

working. my DP thinks I'm mad, but I reckon he secretly loves it. This year the elf is going to bring that book, advent calendar and a Christmas dvd. I tend to buy a few Christmas related books and craft things from the pound shop as well which the elf brings on random days. need planning all of December in my head Grin

couch25cakes · 03/09/2013 12:41

Thanks to this thread I've no more toys to buy but need ideas/bargains for 10 yo dd. Also, if anyone spots any good laptop deals I'd be forever grateful.

craigslittleangel · 03/09/2013 12:44

The Silver Cross children's pram arrived this morning at nanas. Apparently it looks great. My mum is very pleased to have got it for £20. Thanks again for those who posted about that Amazon flash sale.

jamtoast12 · 03/09/2013 13:00

Shopping officially started! Thought I'd start on the Xmas stockings (literally what goes in their hung up stocking..not their extra stocking fillers iyswim?)

Pack of 3 heart shape post it stickers 35p wilkinsons
Cupcake shape lip gloss £1 in primark
Crayons twist crayons and felt tips half price in sainsburys £1.50

And my personal best so far....
Pink "Magnetic" heart shape earrings (magnetic earrings!!!!, who knew! why have I never heard of these!!!, dds aged 8&6 will love them. :) £3.50 from Claire's accessorise for on 3 for 2.

On I'm on a roll but trying to think before I buy this year instead of being blinded by bargains!

jamtoast12 · 03/09/2013 13:03

Tried to link earrings but the ones i got aren't on their site...i did see these though...

www.claires.co.uk/2-pack-magnetic-heart-sister-necklacesshop/fcp-product/14125

Not in the sale I know but so cute...will have to get mine them!

JustBecauseICan · 03/09/2013 13:07

couch- I would wait until about 10 days before Christmas for laptops and Big Electronic Things. Places like John Lewis tend to go discount bonkers in the immediate runup. Got dd's Toshiba satellite for just over £200 in the first week of December last year. It had been £350 in November.

skyeskyeskye · 03/09/2013 13:34

I found some great bargains in Poundland in Minehead, not sure if it is the same store to store? The Carrie Diaries novel, Katie Price novel, both hardbacks, Rimmell and Maybelline makeup, and a Waybaloo set of 1 toothbrush and 2 tubes of toothpaste all costing £1 obviously

Great stocking fillers or for making up a parcel

FriskyHenderson · 03/09/2013 13:35

I went to M&S this morning but couldn't find anything in the sale - I was looking for the bargain cashmere PJs Sad But came home to yet more Amazon parcels Grin

Anyone else waiting for the Club Penguin book?

Pinebarrens · 03/09/2013 13:38

marking my place..again...thanks reastie

jamtoast12 · 03/09/2013 13:39

Anyone seen any monster high tattoo sheets or stickers? Amzon have then for £1.50 per sheets but wandered if they are cheaper as the sheets only have about 10 on. I've tried home bargains etc

craftynclothy · 03/09/2013 14:20

Mainly marking my place but has anyone seen any Xmas pyjamas about? I mean pyjamas in Xmas fabric rather than just normal pj's. I always get the kids some (usually from Primark) and wondered if anyone had seen any in stock in any shops yet?

98percentchocolate · 03/09/2013 14:25

Thank you for the advent books!

ilove this is what I'm aiming for in DD's room: tree

WorkingtoohardMama · 03/09/2013 14:29

iloveholidays I've just realised that the 1st December is a sunday, so I'm planning a festive day - not that I'm getting carried away - oh no!! Just ordered a couple of Xmas DVDs from amazon - the nativity and miracle on 34th street - used but like new for less than £3 delivered, so I'm going to put them in the hamper along with some craft and baking things - has anyone found cheap christmas cookie cutters?

iloveholidays · 03/09/2013 14:29

98 wow, don't think I'd even try to attempt that :)

iloveholidays · 03/09/2013 14:30

Will try again

IT Crowd series 1-4 £8

iloveholidays · 03/09/2013 14:37

working sounds like me :) we've already booked in the in-laws for 1st to help do the decorations. :)

I bought a cookie set from the works last year. It had some cutter, a mini rolling pin, decorating set and a recipe book. Think it was £2.99.

iloveholidays · 03/09/2013 14:39

stick man by Julia Donaldson £1.75

WorkingtoohardMama · 03/09/2013 14:45

Sounds perfect iloveholidays hopefully they'll have similar this year.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/09/2013 14:47

God I can't keep up now I'm back at work!!

coveredinweetabix · 03/09/2013 14:50

For those who've bought too many books, my tip would be to give a couple for Xmas and birthdays and save the rest to bring out throughout the year. DD gets a new book from the cupboard each month and then will get extra ones if we're going on holiday, on a long car journey, she's a bit under the weather etc. They also make a good emergency present when you suddenly realise that you've forgotten a child's birthday.
I'm also planning a full on festive day on 1st December. Tree purchasing followed by trip to coffee shop or restaurant (a rare treat for DD but something she loves), biscuit making, paper chain making etc
