Ho ho ho sleigh bells are a ringing, it’s christmas bargains thread number 3 with jingle bells on top of the christmas cake

(1000 Posts)
Reastie Sun 18-Aug-13 06:37:42

Special festive title for spottyteacakes grin . Here we go people, the THIRD bargain Christmas thread for 2013 already <feels slightly overorganised> . Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren’t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don’t work or if there’s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous grin

spotty re ordering robot, a pop up window appears when adding to basket - does your security settings block pop up windows?

Has anyone ordered from Yellow Moon? There is lots of Christmas craft in the clearance sell and I tend to get in a bit of Christmas craft to do during December that the elf brings so wondering whether its good enough quality?

Thanks

I get the pop up window saying the robot is out of stock, do you still want to go ahead with the order. I click continue. I've registered, they've got all my address details but right at the end it says they cannot process the order. Might give them a ring tomorrow. It's such a fabulous price!

FriskyHenderson Sun 18-Aug-13 07:38:39

Yellow Moon/Baker Ross is good quality, just watch out for the descriptions esp. of craft stuff (not that I'm bitter buying 500 stickers only to find they are 1mm big oh no)

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Sun 18-Aug-13 07:42:54

Yey! Thank you, Reastie.

I bought the ikea wooden kitchen for DD's birthday (December) as it was a third off! But from what I've read I think they regularly reduce it in the year.

Oreocrumbs Sun 18-Aug-13 08:09:15

Morning, lovely new thread title! Thanks Reastie.

I've just ordered the robot from the end of the last thread. I didn't have any problems (it's still out of stock, but let me order).

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Sun 18-Aug-13 08:14:16

RE FREE ELEMIS CODE

The code is P1310B (digital and print) or P1310P (print only)

There is a promotions box on the first page which should tell you right away whether or not the code has been successful.

Littlemousewithcloggson Sun 18-Aug-13 08:14:42

Another robot ordered here, bet the website people can't work out what's hit them, they'll be packing robots in their sleep!! Think might be too young for bright 4 year old but have a 2 year old niece as plan b. Couldn't resist it at that price anyway.

whoneedstosleep Sun 18-Aug-13 08:18:00

SilveryMoon Sun 18-Aug-13 08:31:30

Thank you for reminding me about Quidco. I have an account, recently brought a big item from littlewoods and completely forgot to check if I could get cashback. Ggrrrrrr
Going to start my Christmas shopping at the end of the month when I get paid. Definitely aiming to be more organised this year and get everyone better gifts. I am rubbish at gift shopping

lazzaroo Sun 18-Aug-13 08:31:55

Tempted by robot, especially as DD just saw it advertised and asked if she could have one! We tried last year but it was out of stock everywhere. Is it definitely the full size version not the little one? Price seems too good to be true!! Plus, she'll be 4 in December- too old do you think?

Lazza the small one has a round tummy. It's 3-5 years so once dd1 grows out of it you can wrap it up for dd2 next year wink

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Sun 18-Aug-13 08:37:50

Oh, and a lot of people were wondering in the last thread what size the Elemis would be. Thanks to Reastie saying it's worth £42, I now believe it to be this 400ml bottle. Bargain indeed! (I was worried it would be a travel sized one).

Trazzletoes Sun 18-Aug-13 08:38:26

Hi there!

LaTrucha Sun 18-Aug-13 08:38:31

Thanks Reastie!

No problem Beanie.

My Osprey purse from TK Maxx arrived and it is loverly. I know TK Max do knock down prices all the time, but I think their Osprey deals are amazing.

lazzaroo Sun 18-Aug-13 08:39:20

Thanks spotty, I'm so sceptical!! Good point about dd2 :-) already have no clue what to get her this year....she's already only interested in dd1's stuff! 2 birthdays and christmas means it's an expensive month!

I know I'm thinking they will be more interested in the wrapping paper so will be buying some clothes (that I would get anyway) and a couple of other bits mainly for dd's sake. Might even wrap a few of dd's old toys that they haven't seen blush

Neeko Sun 18-Aug-13 08:49:17

Thanks for this thread. Has given me a kick up the backside to start my Christmas shopping and have even started my mum's with the character pjs. She is well impressed!

Finally managed to order the robot! I had to use the OperaMini browser app on my ipad to do It though.

The only sections I left blank were company name and PO/special instructions.

I hope they deliver on all the orders now, DD was engrossed in the advert this morning!

chirpchirp Sun 18-Aug-13 10:28:13

It does say on the mag subscription that the gift is limited numbers or something like that, so it'll be interesting to see how many of us get it...

Due baby at the end of nov so am trying to get all pressies bought and wrapped by then so this thread is a god send.

Got a few nice mugs in the factory bit of the Big Tomato Company - £5.95 each which is pretty good - can get for female rellies and stick a pair of pants or a smellie in them for a good gift.

They also do a set of 6 which has big daddy, yummy mummy, glamorous granny and teenage dirtbag and a couple of others for £36 which works out pretty good as little gifts for 6 people.

Bought 2 pairs of Ruby and Ed slippers so aunt and cousin will get a mug and a pair of slippers which they will be extremely happy with.

You can get it for £64.79 at Boots. They have £5 off £50 spend on baby products and 10% off with Quidco voucher QQ2T270

Should also get 760 advantage card points too.

lilylaville Sun 18-Aug-13 11:54:12

Elemis. The code had to be input twice. On the first page then again on the second. That's where I went wrong the first time.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Sun 18-Aug-13 12:04:04

Yes, i put the code in each time i saw a promotion box.

I entered it, it showed up the Elemis offer, then i clicked 'add to basket' next to the offer.

Then it took me to the direct debit details page and no mention of the elemis since then...

We shall soon see whether or not it arrives. Hope it does, because I've just bought this Elemis Body Balm for £9.50 to go with it.

Also managed to get two half price jumpers for my dad in the HOF sale, a discounted Yumi coat for my sis and a half price gorgeous yumi polka dot raincoat for dd.

My Christmas account is dried out! Must start saving again. And must start avoiding this thread for a while or I'll be giving out all these pressies from my cardboard box on Christmas Day.

WaitMonkey Sun 18-Aug-13 13:07:27

Can anyone tell me the difference between Yellow Moon and Baker Ross please ? It seems to be the same company, so I don't understand why they have two websites. I've ordered from Yellow Moon before and have been really pleased. I've just priced up some different Christmas crafts on the two websites and Yellow Moon is a couple of pound more for the same things. Is the Baker Ross some sort of seconds website ? Don't know if its just safer to use YM as I've used them before.

Kelly281 Sun 18-Aug-13 13:10:44

Unsure if this has already been mentioned, but WHS are running a promotion 'while stocks last'. When you buy any pencil case (cheapest is apparently £1.19) you can buy a 24 set of Sharpies for £6.99. The deal is unfortunately in-store only.

iloveholidays Sun 18-Aug-13 13:12:47

Studio 24: I have paid off balance over the phone in one go. It's an automated tel service. I didn't incurr extra charges or interest. However, I wouldn't order from them again as I wasn't impressed with their quality (gift items were very small, and personalised towels were thin) cards and wrap might be better...

iloveholidays Sun 18-Aug-13 15:33:36

Woohoo thread 3!

Cards and wrap that I have ordered from Studio before are fine and they do have some fab bargains.

Look out for their Christmas catalogue to start, the sweet selections are usually quite good!

Marking place, although tis earlysmile

Anyone thinking of a magazine subscription as female gift? - 12 issues of Red for £12. Can be bought as a gift for delivery to another address & you can choose when subscription starts (options are Oct-Feb), you have to set up direct debit to pay the £12 & remember to cancel it before it renews at the end of 12 months.

platespinnermum Sun 18-Aug-13 16:07:07

Meant to add - Red subscription offer valid until 4th Sept

YoureAllABunchOfBastards Sun 18-Aug-13 16:33:06

Picked up our Imaginext Goody bags today at Smyths - no need for cvouchers. You get a sticker sheet, activity leaflet and a little figure - kids v pleased!

Clothes will be 25% off in Sainsburys from Tuesday, apparently.

LaTrucha Sun 18-Aug-13 17:05:40

If you look on the Promotional vouchers thread there's a link to a £60 voucher off Naked Wine cases. It's a bit of a swizz, in that any discount already on the wine is taken off when you add the voucher. I also don't know what their wine is like really but the individual bottles sell for around £10 each, and with the voucher it comes to about half that. It might be a good offer for someone who knows more about wines than me!

vix206 Sun 18-Aug-13 18:55:43

Naked wines are absolutely delicious!! I'm pregnant until end of January, then breastfeeding so off the wine for ages but can highly recommend them smile

98percentchocolate Sun 18-Aug-13 19:07:59

Saw in Tesco today that they have some Mister Maker sets for £2. Each little box has everything you need to make a small project. Can't remember what the makes are and can't find it on the website but will link if I find it! No discount but they are such a bargain and would be ideal stocking fillers.

98percentchocolate Sun 18-Aug-13 19:08:41

Anyone know where I can get nice personalised stockings?

WaitMonkey Sun 18-Aug-13 19:18:06

VERBAUDET
Use code 5569, for 16% off, free delivery and a free gift either a tool kit or a tea set. From HotUKDeals.com. May end up being cancelled, as it seems too good to be true but fingers crossed.

Thanks for the Dogger link, Kelly, it's a book I wanted anyway.

Num I like mamas and papas ones but they're not cheap and not online yet smile

num3onway Sun 18-Aug-13 19:33:07

Spotty how much roughly? And do they do personalised?

I can't remember I got dd's three years ago but will be getting ds one this year. The always have a 20% off sale on in the run up. They're not that expensive think less than £20 but that's a guess confused

Oreocrumbs Sun 18-Aug-13 20:22:11

Mipe - thanks for the Toys r us tip, I'm trying to order now but the website is defunct, won't let me check out! Will keep trying, that's a good price for the dolls - I also want the Cinderella carriage that has £20 off. Fingers crossed I can make it work before I turn into a pumpkin midnight grin.

Kelly281 DD has the emotipets horse Toffee Here (I bough it when it was about £20) and that has been a huge hit. He favourite birthday present by far. It's even growing on me confused. She is 3.

ipswichwitch Sun 18-Aug-13 20:22:32

ordered the Vtech Gadget the Robot (thanks *reastie!). website says it's out of stock but the order has gone through, so I'm hoping that means they are getting more in stock. Next best price I've seen for it is £26.98 on hot uk deals www.hotukdeals.com/deals/vtech-gadget-robot-26-98-amazon-1356969here

ipswichwitch Sun 18-Aug-13 20:23:18

Hi all, can i ask a big favour of you all to look out for deals on lego friends sets. not found anythin major and they are pretty expensive

lazzaroo Sun 18-Aug-13 20:29:04

Gave in and ordered robot this morning smile massive bargain. With that and smiths books bundles I've already saved a fortune! Thank you!

supermario daily mail are doing free Lego this week & 2 of them are friends sets (postbox & picnic). They are on Tues & Thurs, have to take voucher to WH Smiths. Only small sets obviously but good for stockings if nothing else.

ill pick the paper up then thanksgrin we don't have a whsmith but my dad can pop in for us. stocking fillers are good I make their stockings and need to reign in the cheap tat I filled them with last year haha

Oreocrumbs Sun 18-Aug-13 20:35:19

There were a few on the last thread supermariossister, they crop up quite often but usually on Amazon so the price changes fast.

Do you use camelcamelcamel? You can price track on there for any particular sets you want (and check the lowest price they have dropped to in the past, so you know what's a good deal).

Will keep an eye out too, I'm after some for DN. Mind you, since beloved SIL hmm bought DD moon sand for her birthday I might change my mind and buy an annoying toy instead!

xalyssx Sun 18-Aug-13 20:36:20

Has anyone seen anything penguin themed that's suitable for a male adult please? From socks to lego lol

Do you have to go to whsmiths every day to collect? Our nearest one is a 20 minute drive away

never had much joy working camelcamelcamel but ill try again! they are expensive little sets

NigellaEllaElla Sun 18-Aug-13 20:44:35

You've just asked the question I was wondering about Spotty

Our nearest is city centre and costs £2.50 in parking!

Oreocrumbs Sun 18-Aug-13 20:46:41

Toys r us website is broken tonight, and the call centre is shut after 8pm. But the iphone app works (yay) so I have managed to order what I wanted.

lazzaroo Sun 18-Aug-13 20:47:03

Afraid so! And I think it's a 'while stocks last' deal, so they might run out!?

paperclipsarebetterthanstaples Sun 18-Aug-13 20:47:06

Hmmm - wonder if that VERBAUDET code will work with sale stuff (greedy) their free gift last time i ordered was very good!

lazzaroo Sun 18-Aug-13 20:50:38

These are the sets they are giving away...

www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=7273

Rubbish it would cost me more in petrol and parking than they're worth!

lazzaroo Sun 18-Aug-13 20:56:19

I won't be making special effort, but we have a smiths in walking distance so might try get the girly ones for stocking fillers.....although it will mean more small stuff to keep away from dd2!!

WaitMonkey Sun 18-Aug-13 21:13:21

Paper I've taken the chance. If it works great, if not I won't be very upset. If you look at the thread in fashion on HotUKDeals, there are pictures of the free gifts. They do look good.

Shameless place marking!

olivo Sun 18-Aug-13 21:26:07

Have ordered from Studio, and even though I don't live in the UK,, , it still gave me free postage- result! Thanks to whoever gave that code.will see what the quality is like and then decide whether to keep the account open.

parrotsandcarsnips Sun 18-Aug-13 21:30:05

GladbagsGold Sun 18-Aug-13 21:38:08

Thank you smile

Kelly281 Sun 18-Aug-13 21:45:03

For those ordering fromVerbaudet - are you only getting the option to opens credit account? Is it possible to pay in full once ordered? Sorry, I'm always wary with credit accounts!

Slainte Sun 18-Aug-13 21:49:26

supermario £13 off Lego friends here and £11 off here.

They're still pretty expensive aren't they?

HTH

WaitMonkey Sun 18-Aug-13 21:51:00

Kelly, No they give you two options at checkout. One to open an account and one to pay straight away. I opted to pay. wouldn't have opened a credit account.

Thank you to the person who linked to Crafty Ribbons, I ordered some mini tinsel ribbon to wrap the DCs gifts from Santa (takes longer to open so more time to wake up!) and it's arrived so very quickly. Think I ordered it Thursday and it arrived yesterday, so they are highly recommended from me!

Does anyone know where I can get a Lego Advent calendar? I thought they were out this time last year, but I can't find anything at the moment.

RhondaJean Sun 18-Aug-13 22:11:09

Are the ruby and ed slippers worth £5.50 delivery? Thinking of them for dgmil who has very small feet but it keeps putting me off that it's almost as much for delivery as the slippers!

Snowgirl1 Sun 18-Aug-13 22:14:29

Olivo I also can't find the Studio free delivery code either - could you say what it is please?

buildingmycorestrength would you be willing to share what you got from HOF? There's so much on there that I've been a bit overwhelmed

Chocolateteabag Sun 18-Aug-13 22:19:59

From the last thread but Timkerbell - on The Works site, I entered the 15% off code first, then added the free post code and it allowed both.
It also gave me 15% off the multi buy DVD's
(hope my Quidco cash back comes through though)

What is a good price for an Elf on the Shelf? and has anyone seen a boy one?

Slainte Sun 18-Aug-13 22:25:06

Snowgirl from HOF I got the Apothecary set for teen niece, Elemis body balm to go with the Elemis magazine offer and this set for MIL.

I'm feeling very organised tonight. I've downloaded the no more socks app to my phone, dug out what I've bought so far, stuck post it's on everything so I can remember who I bought it for, and thanks to the app I can see I've ticked quite a few people off already - yay!!!

Love this thread grin

BuffyFairy Sun 18-Aug-13 22:37:20

WithConfidence Sun 18-Aug-13 22:37:59

Rhonda, I don't know, I'd need two for each foot but I have heard them mentioned on Style and Beauty and they do look plush.

As they are such a big discount, I would look at it this way - would you buy them if they were half price and free delivery?

Jojay Sun 18-Aug-13 22:39:06

I'm tempted by this playmobil advent calender here for Ds2 (4)

What do you reckon? Here

Got DS1 (6) the moshi one upthread

Oreocrumbs Sun 18-Aug-13 22:41:01

Jojay that is the one I've bought for DD. It was a bit cheaper a while ago I paid under £10 for it so it might be worth tracking for a while.

Having said that I tracked them last year from Sept and they didn't drop any time in the run up to Christmas.

RhondaJean Sun 18-Aug-13 22:45:21

Good question with. The answer probably is not at the moment as I've overspent drastically this month, DH has bought a new car which is soaking up his cash on road tax and changing insurance and we have a weekend away all before my next pay day. So I think I will leave it and probably regret it later

Jojay Sun 18-Aug-13 22:51:27

Oreo, yes according to camel I should have bought it in June! Not much chance of it going down again I don't think, so I might just go for it.

SurvivalOfTheUnfittest Sun 18-Aug-13 22:58:03

I saw Creationary in Sainsburys at 16 quid today. It's a good board game for anyone who likes lego building, and a third off. Might suit some male relatives?

incogKNEEto Sun 18-Aug-13 23:02:11

Thanks Lees just ordered one of those filigree necklaces or DD1, and thanks for the reminder about the Lego sets above, I missed yesterday's, but will try and get some of the others for DD2 and DS.

Slainte thanks - I've ordered the Elemis & apothecary stuff

Olivo thanks for the Studio code, I've just ordered some personalised pencils, swim bags and - the best bargain - 5 packs (60 cards) of Christmas cards for £1.30 (after the 10% discount), which works out as 2p a card! The cards are in their clearance section. The original price was £4.99 per pack of 12, so hopefully they'll be okay quality.

I think you need to spend about £25 before the free postage/10% off code will work though.

Snowgirl1 Mon 19-Aug-13 09:57:44

SunnyIntervals I'd say Red is ideal for 30+ (or maybe late-20s+)

I have ordered the robot which looks fab and a few other bits and bobs. It was out of stock but the order went through ok.

To report back on the Vertbaudet code (amazing), I got a tshirt for DS2 which was about £2.50 and the free toolset and then did another order in my husbands name cheeky and must remember to cancel it, he will kill me if I get him spammed anymore and ordered swimshorts for DS1 for £4 and the free teaset!

Both items of clothing they need and were in the sale and 16% off still worked and free delivery and the free gifts look lovely (you can google pics). Absolute bargain, so cheers to whoever posted that!

If anyone has to buy a pressie for someone who's a cycling fan, I've just bought a year's subscription to Cycling Plus for DH for £11.99 and got £6 cashback through quidco from myfavouritemagazines.co.uk

There are loads of different magazines (sport, gaming, gadgets, photography, film, craft) and the person you've bought it for can switch to another magazine if you've bought one they're not into. You can select the month the subscription starts through to Feb.

With the cashback from quidco, you get a pressie worth £36+ for £6

Snow when I had a look it was only a three month subscription?

ValiumQueen Mon 19-Aug-13 12:31:49

Snowgirl I think you will find the £11.99 is a quarterly subscription, not a year.

about to put an order through with vertbaudet, i dont think there is a pay now option do you just open a new account then pay it in full when statement arrives, its only for £3!

GiddyStars Mon 19-Aug-13 12:54:28

super there is an option, it says 'pay now via credit or debit card' I think. It's underneath the bit where it wants you to open a credit account. I paid upfront.

I can't get any codes to work on Vertbaudet?? I put it in where it says order number and nothing changes?! I'm getting very angry

Snowgirl1 Mon 19-Aug-13 12:57:40

Arrgh! I'm such a numpty! How did I miss the word 'quarterly'? Sorry folks - not such a bargain after all. Full price £54.50, subscription price after £6 quidco cashback £41.96

ValiumQueen Mon 19-Aug-13 13:00:48

Snowgirl can you cancel after 3 months? You may get the gift still so still a good deal, just not as good.

ValiumQueen Mon 19-Aug-13 13:04:08

I can't get anything to work on Vertbaudet. I think I might just have to give up as I could not get the robot either sad

I have however bought two sets of the 21 rainbow magic books at 12.49 each, plus a 99p bath book to get free postage. 43 books for £26 delivered, which is pretty cool grin

I have also downloaded the no socks app so that should help me keep spends to a minimum. In theory anyway.

I emailed Home Education about not being able to order the robot and got this reply:

Unfortunately due to an irregular pricing error the item was withdrawn from stock until the error had been rectified. This would be the reason why you were unable to complete your order during the weekend.
I do apologise for any confusion caused however the pricing error has been rectified to its valid price of £39.99 (ex. VAT) on our website.

I hope they honour the orders that did go through.

vix206 Mon 19-Aug-13 16:26:33

Wow Buffy. It took them a long time to notice their 'error'!!!

vix206 Mon 19-Aug-13 16:28:13

hmmI hope they honour it too. I bet they don't though as legally they don't have to sad

What was the vertbaudet offer please? It sounds great but I can't find it!

vix206 Mon 19-Aug-13 16:35:35

It's true they don't confused

I run my own website and in the past we've made a similar mistake but we noticed it within 2 hours and only had to let down 3 customers. Pricing was supposed to be £55 and we had it as £5.50 shockconfused

Never repeated that mistake grin

Oh they're going to cancel it aren't they <sob> I was excited about that!

vix206 Mon 19-Aug-13 16:41:42

It's a strange error to make though isn't it? In wondering if the sale price was actually the wholesale cost to them... Either way I guess we just have to wait and see. hmm

BuffyFairy Mon 19-Aug-13 16:50:26

Fx for you all. It's a rubbish error given that it was up for so long. The rectified price is higher than most other places are selling it for as the £39.99 excl vat!

Just ordered from 24 studio for the first time. Lots of cards and wrap at clearance prices. I used code 054.

vix206 Mon 19-Aug-13 17:01:20

Well. Based on the fact it is now showing as in stock I think they aren't going to honour orders. I think they've just reallocated stock from our orders back onto the website at the new price. (Which is £47.99 inc VAT) shockshockshock

GiddyStars Mon 19-Aug-13 17:03:29

Oh sad

Well, if it's too good to be true and all that...

Is anyone brave enough to email / phone and ask about our orders? chicken

GiddyStars Mon 19-Aug-13 17:04:02

Will the money just automatically be refunded if they can't honour the orders?

iloveholidays Mon 19-Aug-13 17:27:21

Yep 13.19. I ordered today and my email says estimated delivery 1-2 weeks. I wonder what's going to happen? They must have a lot of orders at the cheap price thanks to this thread.

98percentchocolate Mon 19-Aug-13 17:37:28

I'll be annoyed if they don't honour the robot order. Just tried to phone but they closed 5 mins ago :-/ will be trying again tomorrow.

Another question about the vertbaudet thing - it only applies to Spring/Summer fashion. All the current stuff is A/W, so how do you find the full price S/S items to honour the code? It runs until 22nd Sept so should be able to use it...

98percentchocolate Mon 19-Aug-13 17:39:04

Yy with. A lot of new customers that had never heard of them. If they honour it they'll lose their profit but we'll probably order from them again. If they cancel them I personally won't bother with them again.

VianneFox Mon 19-Aug-13 17:44:46

loving this thread thanks wine

does anyone know any deals for duplo, or the best places to look? planning on buying a fair amount for my 2 year olds as their main presents

iloveholidays Mon 19-Aug-13 17:45:06

Does anyone know if you can only put through one verbaudet order? Ive just ordered a little outfit for my nephew due any day and and wondered whether I can put through another order to get another free gift? smile

98percentchocolate Mon 19-Aug-13 17:48:07

You'd have to start another account I think ilove but definitely worth a try! Just out of interest, which items did you buy as I'm struggling to find anything it'll work with sad

i bought the girls happy price t shirt 3.00 so 2.52 after discount

98 I did some socks for ds's stocking (£6) and a girls baby grow (£5) for a friends new baby. Two different accounts smile

RhondaJean Mon 19-Aug-13 17:56:42

To someone saying about Thr tool kit being out of stock, I haven't shopped with Vertbaudet for years but I do have a la redoute account (sister company) and last year they had a discount code with a free bag or something which I ordered with (wanted the discount not fussed about the gift)

The gift was out of stock so they sent me a £20 voucher no minimum spend to spend with them instead! Fx Vertbaudet might do similar.

iloveholidays Mon 19-Aug-13 18:07:39

I bought a boys outfit, jeans with polo shirt. It was 7.60 so got it for 6.38 and free tea set. Going to set up an account with DPs details later then.

iloveholidays Mon 19-Aug-13 18:08:40

Just tested it under my account and won't work... Will get DP to set up account later.

orderinformation Mon 19-Aug-13 18:23:54

How does quidco work?

98percentchocolate Mon 19-Aug-13 18:30:51

Ooh is there another code that gives you the tea set then? I thought it was just the £15 off £20 spend? (Which isn't applying, though they've added the tea set on!!) I'm actually going nuts.

Reastie Mon 19-Aug-13 18:31:25

spotty don't get it (the train)!!!! We have one very similar for DD that drives me up the wall!

iloveholidays Mon 19-Aug-13 18:36:10

98, code 5569 I think it was that gives you a free gift, free delivery and 16% off. I've now got a code to get £15 off £20 spend so might do another order as they have 16% off today with free delivery as well, not sure if you can use both codes though.

Might try and get a nice dress for DD1 for Christmas or maybe do a birthday present.

iloveholidays Mon 19-Aug-13 18:37:17

Spotty, did you use a different name to do different accounts? Not sure whether to just one another email address as I have two smile. Feel like cashing in smile

This thread is a lifesaver!

Dosey Mon 19-Aug-13 18:58:47

Thank you to whoever mentioned the studio clearance. I have just ordered all my wrapping paper, tags and cards. I think you have to spend £25.00 to use the 10% off and free delivery code so I also bought some clothes for dds in the clearance too.

Very excited to have officially started my Christmas shopping!!

iloveholidays Mon 19-Aug-13 19:02:11

For anyone wanting to buy a Kindle Fire, Amazon are giving you £40 to spend on apps and games until 30th August.

98percentchocolate Mon 19-Aug-13 19:05:19

Thank you so much ilove! Finally done it!! Spent £6 in the end on a Tshirt and got a lovely wooden tea set to go with ikea kitchen :-) thanks

Pidgy Mon 19-Aug-13 19:05:59

Just logged in to Hope education page and the robots I ordered are back in my basket at full price!!
I definitely checked out and paid (even did the verified by visa).

Don't think they will honour the order for me. :-(

NigellaEllaElla Mon 19-Aug-13 19:19:56

I've just checked my order with Hope and logged in and gone to History and its still sitting there as order placed so fingers crossed.

Pidgy Did you get an order confirmation email?

shufflebum Mon 19-Aug-13 19:29:25

Money has gone out of my account for the robot too, really hope they honour it but not holding my breath!

BuffyFairy Mon 19-Aug-13 19:29:36

Thanks for the vertbaudet tip. I did 2 separate orders same account so got the tea set and the tool kit. Works on sale items! Ordered DD some vests and a poncho towel both of which she needs anyway so very pleased. I used codes 5569 and 5561 for 16% off, free delivery and free gift. It didn't stack with the £15 off £20 spend.

It looks as though tool kit will be posted when back in stock.

Don't forget cashback.

IJustNeedANap Mon 19-Aug-13 19:38:50

Thanks for the thread thanks

Thanks leesmom for the necklace and earrings I got both just need to decide who there for

I've been on here since the first thread but NC

lazzaroo Mon 19-Aug-13 19:59:09

Gutted if they don't honour the robot sales. Do you think if enough of us kick up a fuss they will?! Wishful thinking I suppose. That one really was too good to be true!

I looked at my history page for the Robot, and it says order received, estimated dispatch date 28/8/13. I'm keeping everything they crossed to honour it for those of us who have ordered!

Livvylongpants Mon 19-Aug-13 20:15:50

I used both codes, ordered a polo shirt and jeans set for DS due sept and got the tea set for £6.38 and ordered the frilled skirt for DD and got the tool kit for £3.40 dead chuffed smile

lazzaroo Mon 19-Aug-13 20:26:20

ningnang that would be amazing!

chirpchirp Mon 19-Aug-13 20:31:43

Keeping my fingers crossed on the robot front too, they've taken payment and my account says estimated dispatch date 29/08. Just have to wait and see.

RhondaJean Mon 19-Aug-13 20:40:52

I can't seem to create a Vertbaudet account anyone else struggled?

Oreocrumbs Mon 19-Aug-13 20:47:36

Hope have taken the money out of my account (£13.19) late this aft - it hadn't gone when I left work around 4pm so it has been after that.

I'm hoping that means that they are honouring the deal, as from the time of Buffy's post I'm presuming that email was sent to her before then IYSWIM. So I'm hopeful.

Pidgy if they honour the rest of us I would email a complaint and link this thread. Fear of bad advertising and all that.

RhondaJean Mon 19-Aug-13 20:48:47

Fixed it sorry!

iloveholidays Mon 19-Aug-13 20:52:26

Does anyone know if Verbaudet comes up large or small? Just looking at getting a dress for DD1 who will be 4.9 at Christmas, guessing I should go for the age 5??

LalyRawr Mon 19-Aug-13 20:55:42

Just got two headscarves and the wooden tea set for 2.94, delivered from Verbaudet!

Thank you for the code flowers

I've been on holiday so this might have been mentioned but Aldi have some bits in the sale atm. Craft tubes (think they have 3 pictures, pens or maybe crayons, glitter and glue iirc) for 69p. They also had hello kitty and mickey mouse t-shirts for £2.99.

GiddyStars Mon 19-Aug-13 21:03:12

Verbaudet comes up v small in general...size up.

Oh no Reastie. What will I get him?! He just plays with dd's old toys hmm I want to get him something nice though..

iloveholidays Mon 19-Aug-13 21:06:07

I have just checked my account on Hope and it says estimated dispatch on 29th August too so fingers crossed!!

olivo Mon 19-Aug-13 21:41:51

Oops,s Rory, I didn't realise it was a minimum spend on Studio - I was on about £40!!!! Too many bargains to be able to resist, and especially free postage abroad!

ValiumQueen Mon 19-Aug-13 21:53:55

Leesmum it may be better to get a multi-pack of fragrances and split them. Sorry I cannot link to one, but I have been given them on the past and know they are sold near Christmas. May be worth asking in posh stores for wee samples?

ValiumQueen Mon 19-Aug-13 21:54:41

Ipswichwitch great minds think alike grin

leesmum Mon 19-Aug-13 21:57:33

Thanks Ladies, good ideas, might try getting some free samples, if not then I think im sure to find a nice set to split up.

Avon do little handbag sized sprays as well, for about £3-4, I often buy them to pop in stockings. If you know someone who does Avon there is a sake brochure rattling about just now with some for £1.25.

Chockywockydoodah Mon 19-Aug-13 22:05:18

leesmum Fragrance Direct had lots of miniature perfumes in bottles but if you're looking for smaller vial type tubes of perfume, then Ebay oftens has a good selection.

lalyrawr wooden tea set you say? Can I get a linky as I can't find it confused

chirpchirp Mon 19-Aug-13 22:15:20

Thanks lazzaroo, unfortunately I don't have anyone to buy for that would appreciate it but I did have to snap up the Wonder Woman tote for myself.

Ahhhh its the free gift! I see. Thanks!
Will look properly on the laptop in the morning.

sameoldIggi Mon 19-Aug-13 23:05:33

Got my "flip" t-shirts the other day, they are decent quality - now up to full price again on play.com though I suppose might be on offer again before Christmas (127 days to go!). They don't explain what they do though, so if given as a present might need to make sure they actually flip them at some point!
Sorry to hear about the robot hassles. Still think the company will have made money through vastly increased sales.

Pidgy Tue 20-Aug-13 07:23:31

Re: robot order

I can't see any email confirming my order either. History definitely shows I checked out, and my husband is also sure we did the verified by visa. It did say out of stock though when we ordered, so I'm not that surprised.
No money taken from my account so I've contacted my bank to ask if the transaction did try to go through (for my own sanity really - could just be a case of baby brain...stranger things have happened!!).

I think if they've taken the money from your account, surely that is their side of the 'contract' so I think you'd have a good case. They have accepted your offer to purchase? I'm no expert but fingers crossed for at least some of us to get the good deal!!!

Pidgy even if they've taken the money they don't have to honour it. Mine was out of stock when I ordered it but I still got a confirmation email and if I log in to my account there is a dispatch date

Chockywockydoodah Tue 20-Aug-13 07:59:31

iloveholidays Tue 20-Aug-13 08:02:32

AmIGoingMad Tue 20-Aug-13 08:04:16

This is amazing! Thank you!

Same here ilove I would have thought they'd have done it ASAP. I'm just wondering if something completely unrelated meant pidgy's order didn't go through

I love Christmas and this thread and all of you lot!!

I'm beyond excited - I've just bought a tank driving experience for 2 people (dh and my dad, they are very close) from groupon for £39 and my stepmum has paid the £40 upgrade to enable them to actually drive the tank!!
They will be very giddy :-)

Ds1 will be getting a bike as his "big" present and ds2 will be getting a trike (the ones with a sunshade and parent handle with touch steering) so it's all coming together!!

I'm doing a stocking for my mum and stepmum with the "something you want,
something you need,
something to eat and
something to read,
something to drink,
something to do,
All given with love,
Especially for you! "

Getting very excited, dh thinks I'm loopy.

Anyone know if the Sainsburys clothing sale is on now?

Hello everyone, and thank you for such a useful thread! I've already saved a few ££s thanks to you lot! In case anyone is after a Moving monkeys gears toy it is on offer for £21.99 from Toys and Learning - there are a few other good offers on there including some 99p soft toys and lots of Orchard games (postage is a bit pricey though).

Watch out for zuilly as some of the Lego bargains seem quite expensive. You can usually get the brickmaster sets much cheaper on the book people and similar sites

Gooseysgirl Tue 20-Aug-13 10:23:55

Henrietta I have also had no luck using the 5569 or 5561 codes today, they must have withdrawn it... kicking myself I didn't do it sooner... Have seen photo of the tea set online and it looks fab!

Thanks for the JoJo code. In case anyone is looking to spend less than £55, MTA32 gives you 10% off £40. Knowing you lot, you'll all make sure you have £55 worth of goods to ensure you get the best bargain!
Thank you for the Temptation Gifts alert as I saw something in there and for advising on how to double up (or possibly triple or quadruple up) on the Boots offers.
I'm kicking myself for not ordering the robot or doing the verbaudet thing. Reminds self we do have far too many toys already, some of which are very similar to the robot, tea set & tool set

Murtette Tue 20-Aug-13 10:34:23

Oh, and I'm kicking myself about the TU offer as I must have spent £100 on clothes in there on the past 10 days and its all stuff the DC didn't need yet (knee high boots, thick tights, winter coats, jumpers) and I was conscious that there must be an offer coming up. Oh well, at least they had the right sizes.

I've just checked order status for the robot and it says due for despatch 28th August. Will get DH to check his account tonight to see if the money has been taken out - should be since we ordered it sunday. Thanks for calling them 98, we also ordered when it said out of stock so I had been thinking it wasn't going to be honoured.

CarrotsAndApples Tue 20-Aug-13 11:11:15

Hi, these threads are great, thanks everyone. Have had to stop talking to DH about Xmas - he doesn't like to think about it until December and thinks I am strange to be excited so early! I bought some reduced fancy dress for DS and DD from Tesco - thanks for the tip.

Someone was asking about Lego Friends. Just been in Argos and they have a couple of sets with 1/3 off - football and karate were on the shelf. 5.99 down from 9.99.

Boots - have a tiny Lego Friends set 1/2 price to 2.50 - girl waterskiing.

Boots also have some half price Playmobil - 8.50 Harbour Cafe, 7.50 Fishing Boat - and some Meccano and PlayDoh sets reduced. Probably only a few weeks until the Boots Xmas 3 for 2 gifts starts, but we have a few family birthdays before then to buy for.

Sorry don't have web links right now - also haven't checked camelcamelcamel so don't know how good the deals are.

M&S 50% off sale starts today. Happy bargain hunting!

Yabada, which code are you using?

iloveholidays Tue 20-Aug-13 14:55:22

Sorry, got your name completely wrong with iPad predictive!! are you using 5569 or 5571 (I think). A little pop up box came up for me asking which free gift I wanted.

Paperclips yes, the George at Asda sale is definitely on, but, as supermario said, there was less for boys than girls in my local store. I ordered some stuff on-line and went in to collect.
