Second Christmas bargain 2013 thread already? It's still only July!

Here we go people, the second bargain Christmas thread for 2013 already <feels slightly overorganised> . Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren’t individually linked - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don’t work or if there’s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous grin

Witt Tue 30-Jul-13 19:13:53

I'm loving all these Christmas threads today.

I've bookmarked The Spicery to look at later. Has anyone ever received it and was it worth the money? Thinking of it for SIL & BIL.

Don't forget to TopCashBack your purchases too! Found out that Boden does 5% cashback today and they have nice duffel coats for toddlers at £8 in there clearance section.

<marking place>

DangerousMouse Tue 30-Jul-13 19:24:35

Oooh can you link the Boden duffel coats please? I can't find them in the clearance section - I hope they haven't sold out!

Witt Tue 30-Jul-13 19:25:56

Ooops. It wasn't the duffel coats on offer, sorry, it was the dungarees I was looking at. Apologies blush

DangerousMouse Tue 30-Jul-13 19:26:29

Ho hum, too good to be true!

BeaWheesht Tue 30-Jul-13 19:30:53

Marking place and reminding you all - any good vvvv cheap deals for dd's 3 rd birthday greatly appreciated!

Witt I didn't get the subscription but I bought a number of little Spicery packs for my sister and her Dh last year. I think they went down well. It was the ones like "Your Country Needs Stew". We've also had the boxes for ourselves (from the clearance section) and they were really nice - packaging is nice for a gift too.

Witt Tue 30-Jul-13 19:33:30

Thanks crafty, I am definitely tempted to get them a 6 month subscription now.

My £2 finger puppets came and there great! Deffo a great find!

sameoldIggi Tue 30-Jul-13 19:46:02

It's great to see the feedback from those who got the cheap pjs - I got as far as putting several in my basket but didn't order as not sure if they'd look as cheap as they are! I know ds won't mind, but want them to be good enough to give as presents so must stand up to the scrutiny of the mum's beady eyes!

LaTrucha Tue 30-Jul-13 19:46:21

Thanks Reastie!

JaquelineHyde Tue 30-Jul-13 19:49:19

Yay new thread. Good work Reastie.

Posted on the end of the last one about an offer at Argos for these Yvolution scooters. Were £69.99 now down to £34.99. Excellent bargain

Oddsocksrus Tue 30-Jul-13 19:56:39

[Thanks] Reastie

Witt I got my DH a three month description. We've now extended to the 12 month subscription as we have enjoyed it very much. Once you have activated the voucher, you receive a slimline cardboard box filled with laminated receipe cards and spices. You have to buy the other ingredients. If there is a receipe they really love, they can go back onto website and reorder th spices (guess what DH is getting in his stocking smile).

MooseyMoo Tue 30-Jul-13 20:02:04

Whoops thanks

izzybizzybuzzybees Tue 30-Jul-13 20:03:21

Julia Donaldson pack of 10 books for 10 at The Book People. Got these for DD - whether we can wait until Christmas though!

re the Spicery - bought it for student DD who said it was one of the best presents she's ever had. Bought it for stepMIL 60th birthday - again went down brilliantly. Want it for myself this Christmas wink. Totally recommend it! Also DD says they send little extras as well.

WRT the Amazon free super saver delivery changing to orders over £10... I wanted to buy something that was £9 odd yesterday - but delivery that had been free came up at over £6 (way over the top too - it was a very small item). So I added something else bringing the order total to £10 odd and it still wouldn't give me free delivery.

It might just have been those particular items, but just keep an eye out and see what is happening. So many of our bargains are from there, if we have to start paying delivery they will not be so bargainous!

Anyhoo thanks for thread number 2 Reastie.

Ihatemytoes Tue 30-Jul-13 20:17:46

Thanks for this! Marking place.

Oreocrumbs Tue 30-Jul-13 20:24:46

You can join amazon prime for 3 months as a trial and cancel it wrote you have to pay so you get free next day delieverys. you could trial it in your name then cancel then trial in someone else and it will take you past Christmas

LifeIsSoDifferent Tue 30-Jul-13 20:56:01

Make sure you remember to cancel it though, I didn't so paid for it but to me it was worth it because I order ALOT from there

Rumours Tue 30-Jul-13 20:59:03

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Tue 30-Jul-13 21:02:07

I've got a Tinker Bell mad dd so thought this box set from the book people was a bargain.

She's also keen on learning Spanish thanks to our pal Dora so this book set has been bought too.

Oreocrumbs Tue 30-Jul-13 21:12:23

ooh 'scuse the Daily Mail link, but here is what the 'savvy shoppers' are doing to get round the Amazon delivery charges! Here.

Think I will trial the prime until Christmas though. Will put it in my big work diary to cancel though.

Hopefully this will hit Amazon hard and they will reinstate it before too long.

NigellaEllaElla Tue 30-Jul-13 21:33:04

I was going to offer the Emma Bridgewater £5 mugs - but just checked and there are very few left. LINK They have:
Coronation sponged and Litho mugs for £5 (something to have for the future?)
Cowboy/girl baby mugs for £3
Tea towels for £3 (yes alot for a tea towel - but present one)

Posted on the first thread before I seen this one.

Skylanders spyros adventure storage tower for £10 in game this is still currently £19.97 on amazon and £25 in argos. I got this yesterday, I got this yesterday it is a decent size and as well as holding the figures it has a special compartment to hold the portal.

The usbourne book of doodling turned up, it is absolutely amazing quality, but it's gone back up from £1.99 to £5.79 on amazon, I'm going to keep looking for another one as its awesome. One of the best I've seen.

For anyone getting skylanders, I'm informed by my skylander mad ds, that a new skylander game - skylanders swap force is coming out in the autumn.

PJs are awesome from I have ordered more :-)

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend Wed 31-Jul-13 13:48:02

Thanks to whoever posted about the vans sale, got some for my daughters.

Also, just wondering if sylvanian families would be good for a 4 year old? I've read a few reviews and it seems to be for older kids but then she likes lego and is getting some playmobil for her birthday so is used to little parts.

Kveta Wed 31-Jul-13 14:09:24

if anyone is looking for a decent scooter for a 2-5 yr old, this Twist and Roll one is great - and an amazing offer too, as they are £40 elsewhere! they have the pink and blue ones in the offer. DS has had the blue one for 2 years, used it daily, and only because he decided to ride it down a slide, thus making it hit the ground at high speed a couple of weeks back, does it need replacing now!

Hamley's has free delivery on orders over £50 with code OUTDOORFUN - ends today.....

I started a bit of a "tradition" with friend's older kids (I got them all big Hamley's cuddly animals for either birthday or Christmas presents over the years) and now she has had another two. Me and my bright ideas.....!!!

shufflebum Wed 31-Jul-13 15:49:30

Thanks for the Playmobil dragon tipoff chocky

CaptainSweatPants Wed 31-Jul-13 15:54:13

Can anyone tell me what the crabtree and evelyn offer is please?

hippoherostandinghere Wed 31-Jul-13 16:00:45

Some reduced Christmas cards and decorations here. I like the Me to You letter to Santa set.
Haven't ordered from Studio cards before, not sure if you need an account or not.

Reastie Wed 31-Jul-13 16:11:10

I ordered a few years ago from studio hippo but didn't think the quality was very goo. It may have since changed though.

Captain just tried the C&E link originally posted by platespinnermum on previous thread and it's no longer working so not sure if the sale is still live hmm

FriskyHenderson Wed 31-Jul-13 16:20:11

Super soaker half price

head torch - shame about the delivery but my 6&8 year olds love it

platespinnermum Wed 31-Jul-13 16:23:49

Captain the Crabtree offer was a flash sale & ended a couple of weeks ago I think. I'm on their mailing list & they emailed me about it so maybe worth signing up for emails in case they do another one?

zipzap Wed 31-Jul-13 16:24:01

Anybody wanting the doodle books - whilst they don't have the christmas one on the Book People at the moment, they usually have them before christmas and they do have lots of other ones on there at the moment - they're usually £2-4 and they have free delivery today if you spend more than £10. DS has the doodlepedia (£3.99) which is great and splat what's that - very similar - £2 instead of £10

So getting the Christmas one now at £6 sounds really expensive!

Also if you do buy things from the book people, if you get more than 3 deliveries in a year (I think - double check!) then you become a member of their passport club which means that you get sent extra offers and you get free delivery over £25 any time and you automatically get upgraded to next day delivery.

So if you're doing a big order, it's worth splitting into a couple of orders (so long as you are still getting your free delivery) and then you're closer to getting the free next day delivery in the future - very handy sometimes grin

Boreoff Wed 31-Jul-13 17:32:07

Very has a furby reduced from £60 to £45, if you open an account use code 3PHUE for a £20 discount off your first order (min order £50). I had 3 to buy so worked out great.

Fab thread by the way.

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend Wed 31-Jul-13 17:44:56

Thanks reastie, just been looking online at some sylvanian sets and it does look pretty expensive. I don't know whether it's daft to start another collection since she's already getting lego and playmobil but I had sylvanian families when I was little and loved them so I'll keep a look out for any bargains.

shufflebum Wed 31-Jul-13 17:45:12

Argh I didn't checkout properly and missed the Playmobil dragons dungeon, gutted!

Chockywockydoodah Wed 31-Jul-13 17:49:30

I bought these two books for my nieces from the Works and they are really lovely, quality books, really happy I got them both (£2.99 each). One is a doodle ripple book with multicolour pen, the other a cute sticker/activity book.

Ripple Doodle

Sweet Scrap & Sticker book

500internalerror Wed 31-Jul-13 18:32:44

Hippo - studio cards have some fantastic things and prices, but their customer service is really really poor. You order & pay later - but twice they've decided my promo code wasn't valid (it definitely was) & refused to accept it. It's very hard to talk to someone rational, they're often very rude, & it's actually hard to pay as they want you to go over credit time so they can charge interest!

hippoherostandinghere Wed 31-Jul-13 18:41:50

Thanks 500 and Reastie I might stay clear of studio.

Has anyone's DC had one of those animagic pets or furreal friends? Any good for a 2.6 year old? any recommendations?

Kveta Wed 31-Jul-13 18:56:06
Mipe Wed 31-Jul-13 19:02:58

SayHello if you go on HotUKDeals and set up a Deal Alert for Sylvanian Families it will tell you whenever there is anything going cheap, I have bought about 6 little sets all for under £5 over the last month or two smile.

Mipe Wed 31-Jul-13 19:16:49

If you are on Facebook I would recommend Webb Creations, they do lots of little personalised presents and are really good value. Last year I ordered quite a few of the signs ("Santa stop here for ..." etc) and they were really nice. They also do keyrings, coasters etc and they can put on anything you smile.

SayHelloToMyLittleFriend Wed 31-Jul-13 19:18:52

iloveholidays Wed 31-Jul-13 20:55:27

Thanks Hippo. I've just ordered those cookbooks too... Not sure if they'll make the present box mind!!! smile

Also ordered these face paint sticks for stocking fillers... The review doesn't look great but seem fine on amazon so thought it was worth the risk for £2!!!

LalaDipsey Wed 31-Jul-13 21:04:17

Hi folks, any more 'twist and roll' scooter reviews? I got a cheap scooter for dd when she was 2 and she never got on with it until i then got her a micro scooter which she loves and finds really easy to use. I want to get DTs scooters for Xmas and was going to save up for micros and get them with 20% off at JoJos. What do you think? Argos twist & roll @ £14.99 or micros @ £44?

xalyssx Wed 31-Jul-13 21:06:35

Chockywockydoodah Wed 31-Jul-13 21:57:40

Thanks ilovehols I just got 2 message monsters for stocking fillers! Bargain grin

Jojay Wed 31-Jul-13 22:00:38

Laladipsey - save up for the mini micro's.

Ds1 had one, then DS2 came along. They're close in age so Ds1 hadn't outgrown his micro yet, so I bought Ds2 a Twist n Roll to save a few pennies.

They constantly fought over the micro, claiming it went faster and it caused so much grief that I ended up buying another micro for DS2.

If you haven't got a micro to compare it to, the twist n roll is probably fine, but seeing as you have one already, I'd definitely avoid the arguments and go straight for micro's!

iloveholidays Wed 31-Jul-13 22:06:39

Ooh Chocky, you're making me wonder whether I should have ordered two!!! Hate buying 2/3 of everything but hate the arguments and working out who to give what to!! smile

nuttybean Wed 31-Jul-13 22:09:01

This thread is so addictive. The postman will think it's christmas at my house over the next few weeks with all these bargains arriving grin

xalyssx Wed 31-Jul-13 22:15:47

Chockywockydoodah Wed 31-Jul-13 22:16:11

ilove there are still some in stock to buy another grin! I just know they will go down a storm! Good finding!

iloveholidays Wed 31-Jul-13 22:22:42

Done it!! If I decide not to give one to DD2 I'll give it to one of my nephews.

Think I might need to do a stocktake soon!!! smile

I'm actually looking forward to the DDs having decent stockings this year which don't include party bag stuff (although they seem to love it!!)

iloveholidays Wed 31-Jul-13 22:23:31

Just bought the Rapunzel plush doll - Thanks for that find, was going to pay full price for DD's birthday so there is a saving!

Has anyone posted about the Jungle book deal? Disney store have the Jungle book on pre order, you get dvd, bag and a 30cm Baloo for £20, or £25v for the blue ray, bag and bear.

Delivery is £4.95 so a bit steep but apparently you can get that deal instore too.

Snowgirl1 Wed 31-Jul-13 22:48:22

I've just ordered the Dr. Seuss box set of books from The Works, so thanks to whoever gave that link.

LucyBorgia Thu 01-Aug-13 02:01:01

Marking place great thread. Spicery going to sort out my in laws. With spices. Not in any other way. Not that kind of website.
Ohhh the playmobil school whoever bought it confusedruined my Christmas last year spent two days putting it together and then it collapsed when you breathed on it. Twenty million horrible bits. Start putting it together now. With superglue.
I love playmobil btw and have lots of other stuff. Worst half price bargain of Christmas 2012.

Chockywockydoodah Thu 01-Aug-13 06:20:53

Playmobil Dragon Castle back down to £19.99 on Amazon AND at Argos

iloveholidays Thu 01-Aug-13 07:05:20

Sorry zipzap, think it was in stock when I added the link!

FeegleFion Thu 01-Aug-13 07:29:46

Okay...first off, sorry for the loooong post, secondly, thanks if you take the time to read all the way to the end. I hate the festive 'C' word with an intense passion, but that's probably because after moving to England with my DD, 8 years ago, I've had to spend every Christmas without her sad

I'm pretty much a Bah Humbug type...but I gave birth to DS last Dec and so really, really need to get rid of the Ebeneezer sized chip on my shoulder and learn to love it again.

DD will be spending the holidays with us this year and DP suggested I throw myself into finding my Chrimbo mojo.

So my first step on the snowy brick road starts here, if that's ok?

Great 9" Android Tablet deal - works out around 75 delivered

siblingrevelry Thu 01-Aug-13 08:26:34

Feegle - hope you get your mojo back. when December comes, surround yourself with all the pleasurable sounds and scents (and tastes) of Xmas and you'll find your excitement builds. I'm getting giddy already and it's only just August!

Lilicat1013 Thu 01-Aug-13 08:32:24

Welcome FeegleFion, I hope this thread helps you enjoy Christmas more.

I have found something but I am not sure if it is actually a reduction or Amazon is over priced. Playmobil 4488 divers in tropical reef is £29.99 on Amazon and £10 on Playmobil's own site.

I have just ordered it for my fish mad son, he will be overjoyed. We went to the sea life centre yesterday and he spent a large amount of time leaning in to the sting ray tank saying 'I like a sting ray' and 'cuddle' every time one popped up near him so he will be delighted at a set with sting rays in.

I'm going to save it for a birthday present as he already has the Playmobil pigs, penguins and a aeroplane for Christmas. I think I am getting a bit Playmobil addicted!

iloveholidays Thu 01-Aug-13 08:39:26

welcome feeglefion... if anything will get you ready for Christmas its this thread! grin

Happiestinwellybobs Thu 01-Aug-13 08:58:21

Living Social have the Emyub Turtle Night light Star projector for £12 plus £4 postage (normally £30?)

Oreocrumbs Thu 01-Aug-13 09:45:57

Crayola friendship bracelets set £5 each, but are included in Tesco's 3 for 2 on craft stuff, so £3.33 to put aside in the present box.

Chockywockydoodah Thu 01-Aug-13 09:59:04

My DD has the turtle nightlight. She plays with it occasionally for a few mins but has never wanted to use it as a nightlight. It does project a nice array of stars (and a moon) as long as the room is very dark. Green & blue are the brightest, orange doesn't show up that much. This is a good price for it though. smile

ValiumQueen Thu 01-Aug-13 10:11:33

Feegle I am glad you are finally going to have a Christmas you can look forward to and enjoy smile my youngest was born last October and Christmas was a bit of a blur, so this year I am determined to make it a good one.

ValiumQueen Thu 01-Aug-13 10:14:49

The problem I have with bargains is I want to buy 5 of everything. Little things anyway. Like the message monsters. And the pjs. I now have 11 pairs of the sodding things grin but I know I will be glad of them at party time. Two parties this week, for example, so two pairs of pjs already wrapped.

GladbagsGold Thu 01-Aug-13 10:32:25

Thank you, everyone who's on this thread. Ordered some PJs, my first bit of Christmas shopping smile

Witt Thu 01-Aug-13 10:34:01

Valium I have that problem too!! Just bought 4 Echo Bots which are similar to the message monsters. I think I know who 3 will be given to. I also bought 3... 3! olympics lion toys because they were a quid each. One for DD, one for the attic (in case it becomes a collectors item one day and I can sell it and make squillions) and one for.... someone else.

Kveta Thu 01-Aug-13 10:49:55

playmobil school house £39.99 down from £119.99!

platespinnermum Thu 01-Aug-13 13:01:24
LalaDipsey Thu 01-Aug-13 13:07:33

Thank you - will keep saving for micros then. Christmas pj's on the way and I got two boxed Crabtree & Evelyn sets yday from my local garden centre, one reduced from £24.99 to £12.50 and the other from £14.99 to £4! That's the (ex) SILs done smile

My pjs arrived too.

I think I misordered one item because I ended up with 2 pairs the same in different sizes, but it matches the receipt, so i'll just pass them on to someone else I think!

The cotton is quite thin, but I like that in pjs so I'm happy.

My local pound land had 3D puzzles 'opposites' in that look good for toddlers and those zhu zhu hamsters. Pound world had the same puzzles but also 'tell the time' ones.

Beginning to think I should have ordered lots more pyjamas as the reviews have been so good!

Kveta Thu 01-Aug-13 13:55:11

Don't know if this has been mentioned already, but there's a special offer at the disney store on toy story toys here

siblingrevelry Thu 01-Aug-13 14:05:06

If you use code 'harvest' for loccitane, you qualify for a free full sized shower gel worth £13 on orders over £30.

However, there's a glitch at the moment which has let me do the offer, then remove stuff from the basket down as low as £17 to still qualify, so jhave a play around before they fix it!

On the Disney store they've also got mini figure/bath toy sets 2 for £20 - save £5, and if you spend £10 you can get a monsters university stationery set half price.

This is the link for disney store 2 for £20

Thanks Moosey for flagging up the waterslide. I thought I'd put it on CamelCamel but obviously not. I didn't get it last time it was reduced to £19.99 as thought it was still expensive but then saw it in JL the other day & realised how big it was. Not actually sure when DD is going to need it .. Xmas 2014 perhaps? Or her birthday after next? Or maybe for DS (currently 14mths). I just know I need it! flowers

We got our ds3 the playmobile waterslide last christmas, I would definately reccommend it.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Thu 01-Aug-13 17:18:38

Can i ask a question?

I've just picked up a load of stuff from my local Argos clearance sale. But it's just dawned on me that if anything is damaged/missing, I'll not find out until dd has opened them on Christmas day. Which, of course, will make it far too late for a return.

So what are you all doing? Are you opening and testing products then sealing them back again as best you can? Or are you just leaving them unopened and hoping for the best?

Here's what I've just picked up. Might be worth a look if your local Argos has any of them in stock too.

Barbie Pocket Learner Half Price - now 9.99

VTech Kiddipet 25% off - now 11.99

VTech Power Xtra Kids Laptop Pink Save 20 - now 29.99

Just wondering, has anyone seen any Octonauts bargains anywhere? I now have two Octonauts obsessed children <sigh>.

MooseyMoo Thu 01-Aug-13 18:02:13

Feegle I've only got into Christmas since last year when my eldest was 2.5 yo. This year I'll have a 3.5 yo and a 2 yo and its going to be manic. Can't wait to make reindeer food this year and for the kids to help sprinkle it in garden. I made mincemeat last weekend and vanilla essence. Limoncello is being started this weekend and looking at other recipes to make for presents (I have two family members who can't eat chocolate so thinking peppermint creams). I've given up on wishing for a white christmas. I would just like a hard frost that melts before people have to travel smile

Happiestinwellybobs Thu 01-Aug-13 19:21:12

zipzap Thu 01-Aug-13 23:21:05

For all those that like books - you're probably already familiar with the book people from being on here. However, for their real bargains, they have a clearance site called

You need to move quickly when stock is put on there because it can go very quickly - they only put it there when they don't have much left to have it reliably on the main book people or red house sites.

But they currently have a complete winnie the pooh collection of 30 books for £18, 6 doctor who books for a fiver, a nice looking collection of 10 myths and legends books for £8 and a set of 20 horrid henry books for £18.

It's definitely worth signing up for their email as they don't come very often but they do when they have put a load of stuff on the site - sometimes it is fairly empty. But when they put a load of stuff on there to make way for new season books on the main site, it has some really good bargains. And then they often have bargains on top - so for example if you buy 10 books priced at £1 then you get them for £7.50

It's the sort of site that if you know you want to do books for party bags or similar well in advance then keep an eye on it and you should strike lucky quite soon - but if you need them for the end of the week you're unlikely to find just what you want!

BeaWheesht Thu 01-Aug-13 23:23:27

Tesco had chroma magic sets in and spy glasses or £2 today.

They also had snap bands and pull back scuttling beasties for £1. My kids love this kind of thing even if I don't!

I've just got this for dd1:

Le Toy Van Barbarossa Pirate Ship down to £31.44 from £45.

I've been looking for a wooden pirate ship for a while and this is the best price I've seen.

BeaWheesht Thu 01-Aug-13 23:24:06

Chroma? Wtf???

NigellaEllaElla Thu 01-Aug-13 23:38:38

Hi can anyone help me find some Lego Duplo for DD without breaking the bank? Thanks.

iloveholidays Fri 02-Aug-13 07:34:15

Lego... I always find the Tesco double up clubcard vouchers exchange good for Lego. Obviously depends if you have club card though smile

LaTrucha Fri 02-Aug-13 07:34:55

That pirate ship has gone down to 27.28 now

Oreocrumbs Fri 02-Aug-13 07:35:12

Duplo my first fire station £9.70 John Lewis.

That was the best deal I could find on a quick search, but there are a lot of duplo deals, they crop up quite a bit.

It would be worth tracking on camel any sets you really like because the can drop them very quickly and they put them back up!

They have put a big box of duplo on the Amazon black Friday deal in the last couple of years too, so it might be worth waiting to see what crops up.

Oreocrumbs Fri 02-Aug-13 07:38:40

Place marking for when I've saved a bit of cash. It's dd's birthday a couple of months before Xmas and we've decided to get things when we see them this year! Wish she was old enough for that kitchen but just to small and young! Will order finger puppets though!

Snowgirl1 Fri 02-Aug-13 11:19:12

Anyone seen any bargains on those wooden balance bikes? DD will be 2 at Christmas, but I'd like to buy a pressie she'll grow into. Any other suggestions on bargains for a 2 year old? A lot of the suggestions seem great for older children. I'm clueless and need ideas!

ballinacup Fri 02-Aug-13 11:54:04

Snowgirl DS will be a week off turning 2 at Christmas and we've bought him the IKEA wooden toy kitchen. It's reduced to £45 at the moment.

SummerLightning Fri 02-Aug-13 12:20:55

Blimey this thread moves fast, love it, have bought some of those doodle books (they are great) and ordered Dr Suess collection for dd's birthday (she will be 3)

snowgirl, the kitchen is a great idea. Also what about micro scooters, balance bikes are great, consider metal ones too, they are usually easier to height adjust and a bit lighter?
What about happyland, that is usually a hit with 2 year olds as well.
Mine like hotwheels too from that age, they are a bit annoying though! Also general cars, and big diggers, etc (the bruder ones are good). Sorry this is not giving you any bargains, but hopefully some ideas.

My bargain contribution is sportpursuit - flash sales on quality sports gear (usually running or cycling) - useful for if you have sporty dh's or relatives. It's a bit like zulily or achica for bikers/runners! Nothing jumps out on there atm but they often have had good reductions on well known brands. they take ages to arrive though (bit like zulily)

onelittlepiglet Fri 02-Aug-13 12:36:06

Showgirl - my dd got a kitchen for her 2 nd birthday and loves it! Al
Also got her things like play food and a tea set to go with it so she can have tea parties. She likes happyland, cars, trucks etc also wooden blocks have become a favorite and she builds 'castles' with them now. She loves jigsaw puzzles and also has started to like simple games like snap or matching up animal heads and tails (from early learning centre) and we have to play them over and over but they are good for her. She likes duplo too but only has one small set so we are going to get her more for christmas. She likes her scuttlebug at the moment. Also she got an easel which she uses a lot for painting. Arts and crafts stuff is a big win. Also books, books and more books! She loves being read to. Things like maisy mouse, kipper, peppa pig etc. hope this helps with some ideas!

Reastie Fri 02-Aug-13 12:40:56

snowgirl I bought DD some wooden cakes/wooden sandwich set and she loves them (she's now 2.5) and has older friends who also love them. Also 'play shop' type things like a till she loves and should play with as she gets older or a toy tea set.

Forgot to say Hello to feegle grin

Sorry, bit distracted - having building works done and everything is going pear shaped at the minute confused

Snowgirl1, asda have a gorgeous wooden kitchen they have done for £35.00 the last 2 years at christmas. I was in there this week and the wooden pans ect for it have just gone out so keep your eye on the website for it. I got it last year and its really lovely. Also the toy kitchen bits in Ikea are great especially the felt vegetables. Baby dolls are also good for 2 year old.

Chockywockydoodah Fri 02-Aug-13 15:22:37

Agree with Starjulesthat the Asda wooden kitchen is great for the reduced price of £35. Comes in a red or pink comtrasting colour ( I got pink and its not too pink. Its small compared with some but big enough to keep little ones busy opening the doors and "cooking". I got the wooden pots and pans, cutlery and plates set for £12 half price too at Asda (as Starjules mentioned) and some Melissa & Doug wooden vegetables and slice n' serve cookies which really made for a nicely stocked up kitchen! She loves it, so do any friends that come!!

Happyland definitely a winner in our house too - have had to stop buying it now as we have too much!

Any role play stuff is good for age 2+ and will grow with them.

BuffyFairy Fri 02-Aug-13 16:05:39

Sorry if it's already been mentioned. The Entertainer have the Playmobil Surburban House for £50 saving £80 on their prices. It's £98 on Amazon

The character umbrellas I posted about early on (page 1 or 2) from eBay arrived - very good quality, especially for £4 including postage!

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Fri 02-Aug-13 19:30:39

Buffy - thanks for that.

I was so sure I was going to get that for dd this Christmas, and was holding out for it going down in price (such as now). But then i saw the Grande Mansion and now I'm really torn which to buy!

Am i right in saying that neither the Mansion or the Suburban House comes with any furniture? It all has to be bought separately?

MooseyMoo Fri 02-Aug-13 19:35:21

Ewe Looks like the Mansion has no furniture and the Suburban house has

2 adults
2 children
A pet dog
A barbeque with accessories

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Fri 02-Aug-13 19:48:12

Ah, thank you smile I missed that. I'll have another wee think before i buy anything.

hippoherostandinghere Fri 02-Aug-13 20:09:46

Life dd1 played with duplo from around a year, megablocks are much the same. She didn't really master putting them together until 18 months, but she like making piles and moving them round.

Murtette Fri 02-Aug-13 23:52:38

Life - DD was given megabloks for her first birthday and just fiddled with them for the first few months but enjoyed what she was doing with them, especially when we got some In The Night Garden ones rather than just the plain ones. From about 18mths she'd build basic stuff and now (3.8) she builds all sorts with them. She's also in Duplo and, if we didn't have DC2, I'd probably have got rid of the megabloks and just keep the duplo but instead we have one lot upstairs and one downstairs.

Littlemousewithcloggson Fri 02-Aug-13 23:55:02

Oh no good, I've found you. Last year you lot cost saved me a fortune. Will keep checking daily now for things I don't need but can't resist a bargain for Christmas. Good to see you all again!

cocolepew Sat 03-Aug-13 00:02:04

I was in Laura Ashley and got a room fragrance set. It has room spray, reed diffusers and oil and two scented candles, was £25 down to £12.50 but rung up as £10.80 at the till.

B&M Bargains have JLS perfume for £3.99, the same one is £14 in Boots.

I've been tracking this for a year (saddo) and that is the lowest it has ever been. I'm not going to buy it, as I've bought the school and DD has so many houses/farms/school I think this would just be too much on top.

But it is a very good deal if anyone wants to spend that kind of money.

RhondaJean Sat 03-Aug-13 11:26:17

Just wondering - I'm looking through the toys special offers page on Argos and the iPod touch is coming up on that page.

Anyone know if they are likely to be in the 3 for 2??

ValiumQueen Sat 03-Aug-13 12:15:23

Rhonda each item will have the appropriate offer listed underneath so if you just click on that it should say.

RhondaJean Sat 03-Aug-13 12:16:57

Thank you - I'm obviously not quite in the zone this year yet, I'm not doing too well figuring these offers out am I!

ValiumQueen Sat 03-Aug-13 12:22:50

I don't think the iPods are in the 3 for 2. The offers seem to be when buying accessories for them.

EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin Sat 03-Aug-13 13:23:16

I've given up on the 3 for 2. I had hoped to get dd's Playmobil sets in it, but the majority of them are online only or can be reserved into our local store from wednesday (the 3 for 2 offer ends on Tuesday).

Then i tried to get the offer on some hamma beads and stationary sets, but because they're in the '2 for £15' category, the 3 for 2 offer can't be applied.

RhondaJean Sat 03-Aug-13 13:40:34

Ewe the 3 for 2 is still on the 2 for £15 toys. I don't know if you would get both offers of you bought say 6 but you would still get 3 for £20 instead of £9.99 each?

LifeIsSoDifferent Sat 03-Aug-13 15:14:07

I've been to argos to pick up some toys in there 3 for 2. I wanted stuff in the 2 for £15 so I paid £20

Play has got some fun kids tshirts on it's one day offer today (they do a deal of the day that you can sign up for the email for - some are good, some not so much!)

Anyhow these are for flip tshirts for £5.99 each. Not sure what their normal price is.

basically they have a question printed on the front like 'Ask me about my T Rex impression' and then on the inside there's a picture of scary t rex printed so that when they flip then front of the tshirt over their head, there's a scary t rex looking at you.

There's lots of different designs. I think on Amazon they're about £10-12 so this seems a reasonable price for them.

PReviously they've had the adult ones on offer at about £7 which seems to be about half the amazon prices for the adult ones too.

Oh that marble run is a bargain. I wonder if it would fit with what we've already got...

Ilove - DS was 12mths when we got ours and has learnt quite quickly about not putting the marbles in his mouth! We kept it in DDs room out of his way until he started playing with it properly, it took a couple of months.

PoppyWearer Mon 05-Aug-13 13:18:58

98percentchocolate DD2 got a shop from Asda last year for Xmas. They seem to get them in every year along with a doll's house. She loved it and still plays with it regularly. She's 3 (almost 4) but small for her age and it seems a good size for her.

Oreo thanks for the megablocks link - present 1 for DS ordered!

QOD Tue 06-Aug-13 08:44:34

Oh some amazon bargains in my basket!

Reastie Tue 06-Aug-13 08:56:38

98 we've got the pintoy kitchen this one which is really lovely and good quality but not sure if it's bargainous (we got ours second hand and it had barely been used). I've seen these kitchens in a few nurseries/preschools so I assume they are durable and good quality to survive so well with regular use.

ballinacup Tue 06-Aug-13 09:08:48

98percent I'd avoid the Asda shop. My friend got her then 3yo DS one last year and said it fell over every time he leaned on it, it was titchy tiny and he's already outgrown it and that it just felt flimsy and cheap.

runningincircles Tue 06-Aug-13 09:20:28

Loving this thread. Thanks EweHaveGoatToBeKiddin, for the tip. I pretty much got the dcs stockings sorted in Hawkin's Bazaar . They have lots of bargains and fun stuff in there summer sale.

runningincircles Tue 06-Aug-13 09:27:58

Oops their not there!

ballinacup Tue 06-Aug-13 09:29:43

Sorry, that should read Asda kitchen, not Asda shop!

NeverTooManyCats Tue 06-Aug-13 10:13:41

just to let you guys know, the finger puppets on amazon have increased in price to £8.99!

NeverTooManyCats Tue 06-Aug-13 10:16:02

oops, my bad, a different seller is now selling them for £2.03. Just bought them now to save any price surprises closer to the time.

98percentchocolate Tue 06-Aug-13 11:53:37

chocky I LOVE that shop! Hmm may have to start scheming to see how I can get it. Dd I needs it!
Thanks for the warning about the asda kitchen. May have to do some research.

This is the Asda 'shop' we got. It's actually a market stall but the kids call it Waitrose a shop.

We have this kitchen for DD1. She got it years ago and used it as a kitchen then. Not so much now, though they both still seem to play with it.

FairyJen Tue 06-Aug-13 12:53:51

Can you amazing bargain hunters keep an eye out for cheap happyland xmas set please smile

I can only find it for £10 but is only meant as a stocking filler so do not want to pay that much.

Ds is getting the happyland pirate ship for his big present- bargain won on eBay as is in mint condition smile

starjules Tue 06-Aug-13 13:17:05

FairyJen, ELC the last couple of years have put the christmas set in the sale a few days before christmas.

98percent, keep you eye out for Love my Street pop up they do a lovely cupcake shop I picked one up on amazon for about £12 (its £20 at the moment) earlier in the year, tescos are doing the post office at a good price at the moment.

Fubbs Tue 06-Aug-13 14:10:09

I need to step away - have accidentally started shopping for 2014 as I've overdone it for 2013 blush!

Chockywockydoodah Tue 06-Aug-13 15:02:08

98 maybe look for a second hand one on ebay or wait for a GLTC half price sale smile

NigellaEllaElla Tue 06-Aug-13 15:34:28

I often get emails from GLTC doj g 15% off everything for 48hrs so will post code if I do. The shop looks fab. Nearly got it for DD last yr but went with a dolls house instead.

Chockywockydoodah Tue 06-Aug-13 16:16:34

Anyone know of any Mothercare codes that are still working please?

Reastie Tue 06-Aug-13 16:18:10

nevertoomany £8 shock shock , is that through the power of this thread?!!

Mipe Tue 06-Aug-13 16:23:54

Ooh I love that Cupcake Corner, it looks so cute! We got some Zhu Zhu Hamster Babies in Poundland today, would make nice stocking fillers for Zhu Zhu fans smile.

Chockywockydoodah Tue 06-Aug-13 17:23:28

Just to say that the code RLNH still works for Mothercare 20% off ;)

Loveitall Tue 06-Aug-13 18:47:04

Well, I've been inspired by this thread. Was already ahead of the game as dn pressies have been sorted, but started on ds now. I made a favourites list a while ago of toys I've seen that were a possibility, so I went back through them and found one half price on elc...hurrah! Ordered now. I have some wrapping paper left over from last year so I can get wrapping as well smile

Reastie Tue 06-Aug-13 20:20:23

Just noticed there's a mn code for Achica (link for £10 off first order when you order from link OP) - JULYMUMS10 for another £10 off when you spend £60. I believe they stack as the £10 off through link is an all first order thing, no code needed, so just the JULYMUMS10 to add.

RhondaJean Tue 06-Aug-13 21:17:27

There was a clearance section in my local Asda tonight near the headphones and iPod docks, with skylanders starter kits for £25 and the play station book of spells or whatever it's called for £10.

Am sorely tempted to go back for the it worth it?

RhondaJean Tue 06-Aug-13 21:18:26

Sorry skylanders was on wii.

ratbagcatbag Tue 06-Aug-13 21:22:03

This rocks. It's the argos clearance finder, no more finding a deal then it's out of stock in one million stores. Put in postcode, filter on what you want and these awesome deals are all available in your store. I got a present reduced from £40 to £15.

argos bargains

zipzap Wed 07-Aug-13 00:54:43

Have just spent way too long on - originally planning to get a spare camera battery and SD card, but now have a rapidly filling basket...

There's a big bargain section, plus home section, lots of things suitable for blokes/boys or gadget mad folks and practical but boring presents (the spare sd card for the camera, the spare battery, a torch etc!)

Delivery seems to start at £1.99 and go up to £5.99 depending on size and contents of your package.

However, things that might appeal more include:
JML snuggle blanket with sleeves = £4.85 Price depends on colour - blue is just under a fiver, some are closer to £7 but still over half price. Can anybody say whether these are worth it - is the fabric nice or are the JML ones just cheap and nasty?

anti slip mat for dashboard - £1.99
universal holder for phones, sat nav for the car £3
panasonic torch with free key fob torch £2
little silicon frog lights you attach to bike spokes or school bags etc £3 for 2
universal 6 in 1 remote for a fiver
digital thermometers
swiss army pen knives
some kindle silicone skins for 49p or 99p depending on model
spare phone charger cords (I have their bundle of iphone plug charger and car charger that was £2, brilliant and cheap enough to have one upstairs, one downstairs /one in each car so always can stick phone on to charge wherever I am but still be near it)
power packs that you charge up that can then charge your phone or whatever if you are not near a power source (good for festivals or camping!)

zipzap Wed 07-Aug-13 01:01:32

order I've picked up some good olympic stuff from poundland over the last few months - cars of all sorts, sets of playing cards (that work out cheaper than buying a cheap set from the supermarket), fact books for ds1

They seem to have a slow but steady stream of it coming out...

I've also bought some nice nail varnish in there - Jessica or OPI for £1 instead of much more - probably last season's colours but a nice pinky one, a nice red one and a nice coral one that are perfectly reasonable, and a bright blue fun one (think that was by someone else). Likewise some good bourjois stuff, and nice nivea lip gloss that should have been about £4.

They also have sweet little handbag sets that are their own brand (allura?) with a little handbag mirror - very nice and flat, a little tweezers and little nail file. Very cute packaging/design on the bits, seem to be several different sets. The plastic bag it comes in lets it down - but if you managed to pick up a couple of nice nail varnishes and one of these sets, you could wrap it up nicely yourself and have a really nice looking present that cost just £2-3.

LifeIsSoDifferent Wed 07-Aug-13 08:06:36

Zip I've had one of the snuggles before and I didn't think it was great quality but I can have easily irritated skin so it could of just been me. Sorry that's not much help

LifeIsSoDifferent Wed 07-Aug-13 09:32:13

Peppa pig carry colour set 1.09 +39p PP

Busy books are 2 for £8 in Tesco. They had jake and never land pirates, monsters university, batman, Tinkerbell, hello kitty, mickey and friends and tinkerbell.

starjules Wed 07-Aug-13 12:39:27

LifeIsSoDifferent, the peppa pig carry set are in the poundshops at the moment. Also ones in tatty teddy and strawberry shortcake. I keep buying them up as stocking fillers ! LOL

saladfingers Wed 07-Aug-13 12:45:20

M&S have packs 0f 20 childrens' party invitations for 10p in store today-either Fairy or Football.

Chockywockydoodah Wed 07-Aug-13 12:45:49

Yeah we had the take along Peppa colouring set for £1 from Poundland. Great idea and very compact, but we found that unfortunately the pages don't lie flat enough for colouring making it very hard to colour and resulting in a frustrated child! But that was just our experience smile

LifeIsSoDifferent Wed 07-Aug-13 14:13:46

They look like good little stocking fillers but my DD will be to young. I went to toys r us to get the hippo that I linked to earlier but didn't bother, I got the impression it did a little more on the Internet and don't think DD would be too interested so left it hmm

ValiumQueen Wed 07-Aug-13 14:14:03

The snuggle is very cheap quality. You could shoot peas with it, and it irritated my skin too. Also it is not a very generous fit IMO.

Also was disappointed in the Peppa pig carry colour thing. Not worth £1 even.

JustBecauseICan Wed 07-Aug-13 14:17:12

Sainsburys have 1/3rd off some duplo sets, some Lego sets and some playdoh stuff. I think there was 25% off some vtech things but other than the toot toot vehicles (1 for the stocking!) I didn't pay much attention - sorry.

Now I need to download that no more socks app ( thanks hippo) before I forget what I've bought.

whoneedstosleep Wed 07-Aug-13 15:05:43

People were putting together craft boxes for their DCs I'm not sure if this is any use but you can get bottles of ready mixed paint from mothercare (ELC) for £1 each and they have about 8-10 different colour and you can get ones with glitter in but I think they were £1.50 but not 100% sure

I've just been to sainsburys and they've loads of offers on! A third off lego city items, loads of DVDs for £5 or less and lots of little stocking filler bits (think its their summer boredom busting thing) :-)

BeaWheesht Wed 07-Aug-13 16:23:48

I saw them in store

olivo I just put in Christmas present apps and it came up!

Marking my place and to ask a wee question, has anyone seen any of the "That's Not My...." Books going cheap? My DD loves them smile

hippoherostandinghere Wed 07-Aug-13 16:42:38

LaTrucha Wed 07-Aug-13 18:06:40

We have the asda one and it is great.

JaquelineHyde Wed 07-Aug-13 18:12:02

Olivo I have an app called Gift List on android and it is brilliant.

Tonight I shall be wrapping up all the gifts I have so far and up dating my app so I can see where I am with them all.

Fingers crossed I am further along than I think I am.

BeenieBaby Wed 07-Aug-13 18:16:14

98percent which one is it?? Dd's birthday us coming up soon and I wanted to get her this red elc one but couldn't justify the cost when the ikea one is so much cheaper!! Am hoping it goes on sale soon otherwise it'll be ikea for us!

Kelly281 Wed 07-Aug-13 18:32:51

BeenieBaby I realise its still not quite the Ikea kitchen price, but you could save £30 buying the ELC kitchen from Mothercare, using code RNLH.

Olivo I use Quick Christmas List HD on ipad to keep track of presents, it's the best one I've used so far. smile

BuffyFairy Wed 07-Aug-13 18:42:39

Beenie I'm after that red ELC kitchen too. They used to do a blue version and that went into the Feb half term half price sale so hoping this one gets that treatment in Oct.

BeenieBaby Wed 07-Aug-13 19:08:24

The blue one is on ebay for £110 if anyone is after that one by the way. Thanks for the tip on the half term sale! Will watch out for it.

olivo Wed 07-Aug-13 19:10:24

Brilliant, I will have a look at those apps, thank you.

Might I offer the Sylvanian wedding car, down to 12.63 from £35 or £39 on amazon. Sorry, rubbish with links. There are also a number of furniture sets with big savings today.

olivo Wed 07-Aug-13 19:13:47

Oh, and the wedding accessories set is down form 18 something to 8.99. On amazon too. With the bride and groom set half price from tesco, down to 6, I have a fab present for one of the Dds grin

Mipe Wed 07-Aug-13 20:00:10

I would recommend this kitchen, doesn't take up too much space and easy to bring outside in summer smile

Mipe Wed 07-Aug-13 20:09:22

Olivo did you use club card vouchers to get the bride & groom half price? It is still £12 online smile

olivo Wed 07-Aug-13 20:12:49

No, it was in the shop, con a 'clearance' shelf. They seemed to have just the bride and room set, cans a toilet tent at half price! The same in another branch of tesco I visited, so not just a local thing.

starjules Wed 07-Aug-13 21:36:02

John lewis has 2 nice ones

and this little tykes one lookes good. Neither are wooden unfortunately

starjules Wed 07-Aug-13 21:40:12

oooh this is a nice wooden kitchen

joymaker Wed 07-Aug-13 21:41:21

Doesn't seem to be online but Sainsburys instore had Lalaloopsy sister packs reduced to half price (ones with orange hair £17.99) and a 3rd off (the ones with pink hair, I think £23) The dolls inside were a good size.

Home Bargain instore had koo koo birds 49p a pack and the koo koo bird krack-up cars £1.99 very cute. I bought these for my DS but would be great socking fillers for a boy or girl I think. Online they have a case of six for 11. 94

RhondaJean Wed 07-Aug-13 21:57:52

I'd didnt know home bargains had a website!

Snowgirl1 Wed 07-Aug-13 22:05:47

starjules that toysrus one is nice and doesn't look too big. Can I overcome my aversion to all things pink...

starjules Wed 07-Aug-13 22:07:44

If you can wait the asda one comes in pink or red for £35 and is great, but not stocked until nearer christmas. I have the pink asda one and its not to pink. (but I LOVE pink! LOL)

cherryboomboom Wed 07-Aug-13 22:46:26

£10 Barbie Dolls Wardrobe from amazon. My dd was given this last year & loved it. It was about £25, not sure it was worth that, but definitely worth £10! (& free delivery)

Snowgirl1 Wed 07-Aug-13 23:12:24

Chockywockydoodah Thu 08-Aug-13 06:14:17

Have to agree that the £35 Asda kitchens are well worth waiting for smile
We were short on space too so it was the perfect size. We got it in pink, but as Starjules said, it's not too bright.

Sainsburys currently have wooden fruit & veg to cut etc. and other things that you could buy ready to go with whichever kitchen you end up buying. fruit link

I gave my DD lots of food and pots and pans with it so it was ready to "prepare meals" straight away!

PoppyWearer Thu 08-Aug-13 10:51:11

A slight diversion off the thread topic, but if anyone is looking for Hallowe'en stuff already, there is a lot of Amscan-branded stuff (party ware etc) and other bits on Amazon at the moment with money off.

JustBecauseICan Thu 08-Aug-13 11:34:34

Great big ginormous pack of Sharpies! (I had never heard of them before but WHS lady assured me I was getting a bargain!)

Also walked past The Entertainer and they have the big Olympic soft toys for £1 now.

Snowgirl1 Thu 08-Aug-13 11:51:39

If anyone's looking for a cheap balance bike there's one with 40% off on on-line bike shop Wiggle - it's £23.99 after discount, which is cheaper than any on Argos or Asda. LifeIsSoDifferent Thu 08-Aug-13 18:40:24

Sainsburys have little mr men books for £1 each RRP £6.99 (not sure they would ever sell for that but..) I just picked up 2

All this chat of kitchens makes me think my DD would like one. She'll be about 20 months and loves playing with a big bowl and wooden spoon and little things (if you know what I mean!)

Really like the ELC red one at £150 but I know ill probably get it cheaper than that. Not a fan of pink so that's why I like the red. Plus I'm due another DD in 5 weeks so think wood would stand the test of time.

Couldn't see a link for the Asda one but I saw comments about waiting for it. Is there any other or anything I'm missing?

Reastie Thu 08-Aug-13 18:51:21

Zulilly sometimes have really nice kitchens crop up for sale (which make me wish I hadn't already bought DD one blush ). I'll try to remember to keep an eye out.

GirlWithTheYellowHat we got the ikea kitchen for dd1 at 20 months, it was a great success and played with every day. It's wooden, no pink at all! It's reduced at the moment too.

LaTrucha Thu 08-Aug-13 19:50:39

I finally got my DD one when she was 5. I wish I had bought it earlier. DD and DS play with it alot.

98percentchocolate Thu 08-Aug-13 19:56:57

Beeniebaaby - it was the tidlo kitchen station for £71 on amazon but I'm thinking about getting the ikea one and customising it with fabric and paint. Hmm...

chimchar Thu 08-Aug-13 20:03:38

lots of fireman sam play sets about £10 cheaper than rrp in B&M stores...also, some peppa pig bits too.

good bargains all round for stocking fillers like sweets, lip balms, character toothpaste and brushes, bubble baths, flannels etc.

home bargains is the same.

Grr why are all the peppa pig toys for 18m+. DD seems love love it but will only be 13m

LifeIsSoDifferent Thu 08-Aug-13 20:35:05

Peppa pig muddle puddles Half price 12.49

Kveta Thu 08-Aug-13 20:46:29

Life I think often if something says 18 months +, they mainly mean that age group will get the most out of it - certainly my 13 month old doesn't care that most of her favourite toys are for 2 or 3+, she just plays with them - maybe not quite how they are intended, but she's happy smile (the imaginext space shuttle is her best toy in the world right now, when DS lets her near it, and I'm sure it's not meant for 1 year olds!)

PogoBob Thu 08-Aug-13 21:04:58

haven't read through the thread today so don't know if this has been mentioned but asda have the large ladybird wheelybugs at half price.

Got one for DD's 2nd birthday and she still loves it a year later and it looks practically brand despite the abuse she gives it!

If i knew what the hell I was doing with my new nexus I would link but I don't but vertbaudet do quite cute kitchens if as always with vertbaudet you wait for the right deal to come along. I got DD similar to the one they have now when she was 2.5 and she has consistently loved it for 3 far.
Melissa and Doug stuff has come up recently in my tax maxx/home bargains at a biggish discount.
Are b and m worth a visit? We have a new one I saw on my way to buy (how humdrum, nay pedestrian) school shoes and got excited purely based on these threads blush

LifeIsSoDifferent Thu 08-Aug-13 21:31:42

Thanks kveta she has a couple of toys that are in an older age group but a lot of the peppa pig stuff has small bits which she will try and eat hmm

LifeIsSoDifferent Thu 08-Aug-13 21:39:41

Peppa pig stroller 6.99

Delivery is £2.99 but there is alot of toys on there some are quite good prices so the £2.99 could be worth it -even though it pains me to pay delivery--

Kveta Thu 08-Aug-13 21:49:52

Pants, on nexus too, you have to touch and hold on a link, and it asks if you want to copy or paste - then press and hold where you want to paste it to, and it will ask if you want to paste it. Has taken me almost a year to figure it out...

Anyway, here's verbaudet toys

LifeIsSoDifferent Thu 08-Aug-13 21:52:04

Got 4 Busy Books in Tesco today for £16, they're on 1 for £5 or 2 for £8. Will make good stocking presents if I can keep them that long as they'll be perfect for birthday presents.

iloveholidays Thu 08-Aug-13 22:44:31

BeaWheesht Thu 08-Aug-13 23:39:03

I popped into home bargains yesterday & they had some Ben & holly books for under £1. One even came with a story cd. Also my local sainsburys had some moshi monster packs down to £1.49 for a pack of 5, I think they were an older series, maybe 4 but still good!

platespinnermum Fri 09-Aug-13 08:16:25

Brand new Peppa Pig 2013 annual £1.68 delivered - I ordered one of these & it really is brand new, my DD is too young to care that it's not the 2014 one! The same seller also has loads of other new 2013 annuals for the same price - including Lego, Octonauts, Ben 10, Moshi Monsters, Where's Wally, Dora, Hello Kitty, Disney Fairies, Spongebob, Top Gear, Simpsons, Dr Who, Club Penguin, Fireman Sam.

PoppyWearer Fri 09-Aug-13 08:36:15

thanks For the annuals. My DMum insists DCs must have them, but they never bloody read them, so I've ordered a couple of these for them. DM won't notice, neither will DCs, plus you've saved me about £6!

iloveholidays Fri 09-Aug-13 08:42:20

can someone remind me where the play doh was? my girls have just opened the last of the new stuff from last Christmas so no doubt it'll need replacing by this Christmas.. think it might be an annual stocking filler! smile

TeaAndCakeOrDeath Fri 09-Aug-13 08:43:39

iLove, I got playdoh in Tescos 4 pot packs BOGOF so 8 for £3, but that was a couple of weeks ago so not sure if its still on. I seen some yesterday as well, think it was Sainsburys with 1/3 off, can't remember the price though.

Just found this kitchen for anyone on a really tight budget.

PoppyWearer Fri 09-Aug-13 11:37:03

My DD is starting to get into the Rainbow Magic Fairy books and I've seen some on Amazon, including the early reader ones, for £3 or thereabouts - even the Book People have them for £4+ so seems a good price. Unless anyone has seen them cheaper or on a 3-for-2?

ValiumQueen Fri 09-Aug-13 12:45:19

Poppy have you seen the sets at The Book People? They do 21 books for £16.99, but they are the later ones.

ValiumQueen Fri 09-Aug-13 12:46:47

Curious have you looked on your local selling pages on FB? I got one for £20 and it was immaculate. I admit I was very lucky.

LaTrucha Fri 09-Aug-13 13:01:38
BirdingWidow Fri 09-Aug-13 13:02:30

Asda half price wheely bug out of stock unfortunately... But thanks to whoever posted about the mermaid book, I managed to get a couple for gifts

Reastie Fri 09-Aug-13 14:01:45

Iloveholidays when I went to tesco yesterday I think the pay doh was no longer on the BOGOF....but I think someone mentioned something previously about Wilkos having an offer which was the equivalent to a similar discount. Have googled and found this

Reastie Fri 09-Aug-13 14:02:29

pLay doh not pay doh blush (although you do have to pay-dough for play-doh wink )

iloveholidays Fri 09-Aug-13 14:09:04

thanks reastie. out at the moment but will have a look when back.

just picked up my colour in dolls house and it looks fab for a rainy day project (could have done with it the last couple of days as dd 2 had a tummy bug... cabin fever not nice!)

Reastie Fri 09-Aug-13 14:14:41

bangzo have 10 book collection of fireman sam/bob the builder/thomas the tank rrp £30 for £5. They do have some good deals on there if you keep an eye out (last year got 3 dr seuss books for 3p, yes 3p!).
