girlwiththeyellowhats do we have any news yet?

Fifth thread already, how did that happen?! I?ve booked our panto tickets now so am feeling very festive Grin . Tips I learnt from the last thread number 24837 - wrap a huge cardboard box in christmas gift wrap to put all the rubbish on christmas day in rather than a bin bag so you don?t get a black plastic sack in all of the photos

Please forgive the fact that so many sale and amazon products aren?t individually linked or are linked but price may since change by the time you click on it - so many of them are out of stock and amazon seem to change prices on an almost hourly basis (it feels like) on a number of items that were previously linked to. As usual please tell me if any of these links/codes don?t work or if there?s anything particularly you want to be in the next OP (assuming there is another Wink ) how would I do any shopping without you now

Thanks for all your help in helping my christmas shopping in 2013 be once again bargainous Grin

henrietta the elc have them so it's worth signing up for their birthday club and for their newsletter to find out when they have any flash sales - in the past they've had 50% off everything in the shop before christmas or big discounts anyhow, which are great for things like this that don't often get reduced! Also see if you can get any cashback discounts when buying online.

iloveholidays · 09/09/2013 20:35

It's probably just been issued as they had our money for SO long Grin

RhondaJean · 09/09/2013 20:37

Thanks for that supermario - I've just found some of the Disney infinity figures for £10 on amazon, ordered Randall from monsters inc/uni for dd2s friends birthday this weekend.

Good idea zipzap, thanks.

iloveholidays i got a statement too. agree it gives the impression we have been credited by 13.19.... like you i can't see anything in 'my account'. Bizarre....

joymaker · 09/09/2013 20:50

HenriettaPye I think they're expensive too.The cheapest I've come across schleich online is here but p&p will bump up costs a bit. Sometimes Smyths have 3 for 2 in store. ELC also sell them online and would be cheaper if you had/could get a discount code.

If you're/ your DS is not too bothered by brand specifically this Ebay seller has some animals at a very good price and the models are really nice (this brand, Procon collectA, is quite expensive on Amazon) Additionally for evey 3 models you buy you get a model free. I've bought some for DS for xmas but do also have some schleich Smile

BeaWheesht · 09/09/2013 20:53

For anyone else who accidentally signed up to the monthy invoice option for H&M and therefore incur a £1.25 charge I emailed them and this is what they said:

When placing an order on this account, you will be invoiced for this the following month. There is no interest on this account, however there is a handling fee of £1.25 every month there is an outstanding balance on the account. This balance is then required to be paid in full be the end of this invoiced month. Should you make payment to the account before you are invoiced for this, you will not receive the £1.25 charge.

BeaWheesht · 09/09/2013 21:00

The teaco toy sale has schelich
Animals

HenriettaPye · 09/09/2013 21:02

Ooo thanks for that link to the eBay shop joymaker! He has his heart set on the schleich ones as he has the little collector catalogue but some of those look basically identical! Smile

joymaker · 09/09/2013 21:18

Henrietta glad that helped, he's a really good ebayer too- everything was packaged really safely and quickly. Do you think you DS will look for the schleich branding on the bottom? (my DC won't because they quite young)

HenriettaPye · 09/09/2013 21:30

No he won't notice at all, he's only 3 so won't even think to look for the branding. He has a few of the papo animals which are like schleich and he doesn't know the difference although he did ask why the elephant in his book has all it's feet on the ground but his one is lifting one foot. I told him its because his stepped on a stone and hurt his foot GrinGrin

He does however know the difference in those and the cheap ones which are a few pound for a bag full- they don't look 'real' apparently!!

pantshavenames · 09/09/2013 21:54

Yuk to tesco , got a random 2 e mails to confirm the squinkie bundle was ready to collect from Saturday, stood waiting like a lemon at said store for 20 minutes only to be told not here yet. Too long a process to contact their customer services dept, too long winded a process to cancell and reorder, no way of knowing if lost in transit or on way but did I feel like coming back tomorrow and repeating process again on the off chance of a better outcome.
And then a phone call oh yes sorry delivered on Saturday as promised but to a store at other end of town and no we can't re deliver to your original , and stated on delivery email, store so please schlepp over at your convenience
Mood not helped by original bus turn up failure on way home so 30 minute wait for next which then broke down halfway home so dh had to leave work to do school run while I turbo hiked up Hill swearing.
And have just dropped a litre of hot stock all over kitchen floor under fridge and up walls etc
Have cleaned up and am now in bed with break proof whiskey and , oh yes weather had turned , super snugly pj's

joymaker · 09/09/2013 22:39

Grin Henrietta-They some how always seem to know the difference between cheap and expensive! In looking at them I definately think they stand up to schleich I really don't think he'll be disappointed Smile

Freemilk · 09/09/2013 22:51

Oh I'd like to claim the credit for the weather, as you see upthread I got the sand and water table from Tesco and I said then that it would change. dcs had 1 day playing with it and then rain!!!!
However you should all be pleased with me I did hold off buying it for ages Grin

craigslittleangel · 09/09/2013 23:39

Joymaker and DTisMYdoctor, The Puff the Magic Dragon book link is here:

www.amazon.co.uk/Puff-Magic-Dragon-Book-CD/dp/023070381X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1378766244&sr=1-1&keywords=puff+the+magic+dragon+book+and+cd

I think it was £1.75 when I originally ordered it, but at £3.85 I still think its well worth it, hence me buying 2 more copies. It's not a pop up book though.

ProtectiveMother · 09/09/2013 23:43

Hey re: Vertbaudet if I sign up as a new customer to avail of nice dressing gown for my DD for not much £, in what ways do they try to screw me over? Thanks!

shortie3 · 10/09/2013 01:05

re Vertbaudet, I find them fine since mainly use the codes to get kids clothes cheaply and don't bother with the gifts. I have used the code 5359 twice to get girl's outfits (2 seperate accounts) and paid £5 each instead of £20. I did try the other code suggested, it added postage but gave an option of a free gift. Sizing is small, they have cute tutus for £9 in at the moment.

runningincircles · 10/09/2013 07:14

Achicha.com have some lovely bird houses and feeders today, just got one for my hard to buy for FIL. They also have lovely, posh and unusual umbrellas, that I have got for MIL.
2 presents bought already and I'm not even out of bed Grin

LaTrucha · 10/09/2013 07:19

I have found Vetbaudet to be great. The gifts are often naff but the clothes, though small, are very nice. Returns and exchanges are easy. I do only use that £15 off £20 bu I am a total cheapskate. The only problem I have is DD doesn't like the muted colours.

toisa · 10/09/2013 07:41

How does achica work?

MooseyMoo · 10/09/2013 07:55

Leon Directors Cut DVD £3. Good stocking filler for men. It's an excellent film.

From Sainsburys so free delivery too.

MooseyMoo · 10/09/2013 08:11

30% off Gap denim and 25% off logo styles

LaTrucha · 10/09/2013 08:55

Can anyone tell me if the Tescos Squinkies are good for splitting into birthday party presents. I hate them myself, but if I could get two or three presents out of a pack it would be worth it.

Littlemousewithcloggson · 10/09/2013 09:04

La trucha I've split the extra set i bought into 3 presents - coach dispenser as one (12.99 on amazon), campervan - which I got instead of horse and carriage - as another (7.99 on amazon) and the two pack of squinkies as a third present ( between £4-£7 each) They really are great value.
