14 year old boy pain down below

I’m looking for advice really. My boy has groin pain after a bath tonight. He says he was fine before the bath and now has ball (testie) pain now. There doesn’t appear to be anything out of place but obviously not sure. We have asked and he says he hasn’t been kicked or accidentally hit by anything or anyone today at school.

we have contacted 111 awaiting a call back for their nurse or doctor. My mind is racing to wonder if the bath being a normal temperature has something to trigger it? He’s saying it’s just uncomfortable but also reports his calf is sore too? 🙈

we have a hot tub and he’s in and out of that all week with no issue. Any ideas please? TIA

Oh brilliant news OP, you’ve got your baby home! I hope he sleeps so well tonight.

Sounds like a good set up with the virtual ward aswell. I haven’t come across that before

Chimchar · 21/05/2023 10:50

Great to her that you are home. I hope your son continues his recovery and that you can relax a little now. X

VeronicaTimeTurner · 25/05/2023 22:40

Hope the meetings with the consultant all went well @YoungWild?

YoungWild · 25/05/2023 23:04

Thank you @VeronicaTimeTurner its gone mostly well. On Wednesday he developed Testicle pain before the appointment. They assessed and scanned him when we went and everything looked normal so we were sent home. He had it again the following day when resting but eased with some tablets and a hot water bottle (as recommended by the doctors). He’s been doing pretty well other than this minus the odd little bump in the road. Thank you for thinking of him ❤️

So glad you have him home and that he is generally on the mend!

Just bumping this to keep up the awareness. I took my son to A&E last night with the exact symptoms mentioned in the original post. Thankfully everything was ok and it wasn't torsion, but they were pleased we went in to see about it and that we were aware of the signs. Keep an eye on your boys everyone, and thank you @YoungWild for the heads up. Hope the boy is feeling a lot better now Flowers

Username84 · 07/06/2023 18:34

So glad to hear he's doing well!

YoungWild · 08/06/2023 23:14

Thank you I hear so much positive stories from this post. To give an update he is doing really well. He has just gone back to football training on a no contact phased return. He is doing well and is on the mend. It still hasn't been perfect sailing he still gets pain the odd time. On Monday night he woke up with same level of testicle pain as the torsion, he got sick and the pain went. We went to the GP a few hours later and he was examined and reported to be okay. They don't really know why he is getting the pain and it's random. We don't think it's sport related as it was happening before that.

I have had someone contact me (I will never name) and they have shared an experience of how this post has saved their boy and his testicles when he had pain. I never imagined this post would have so many responses. I value everyone's response

Glad he's on the mend (my sons are very grumpy when they miss sport).

You've obviously had a very different diagnosis but both of my sons suffered quite intense testicle pain (and a lump) with epididymitis. Tends to settle with antibiotics but can flare back up.

Just in case that's helpful although it sounds like yours may be a post surgery type of pain.
