14 year old boy pain down below

I’m looking for advice really. My boy has groin pain after a bath tonight. He says he was fine before the bath and now has ball (testie) pain now. There doesn’t appear to be anything out of place but obviously not sure. We have asked and he says he hasn’t been kicked or accidentally hit by anything or anyone today at school.

we have contacted 111 awaiting a call back for their nurse or doctor. My mind is racing to wonder if the bath being a normal temperature has something to trigger it? He’s saying it’s just uncomfortable but also reports his calf is sore too? 🙈

we have a hot tub and he’s in and out of that all week with no issue. Any ideas please? TIA

I really hope today bring some improvement for your son..
What an ordeal you as a family have been through.
I am so pleased that you took him to be seen, & what awareness this brings to everyone.
Thinking of you, your son & your family xxx

He is improving again today, he is staying in PICU for now. Today he is sat out of the bed for a few hours (maybe 2 max) and has walked a very little bit but is exhausted after that. His team is happy with his process. No negative news today which we are happy with.

Thank you all 💙

Such great news, long may it continue!!! I hope you have the sunshine today where you are and he can get a few minutes of vitamin D on his skin. I am so happy for you all, hope EvenYoungerWild continues on the mend - next step, out of PICU and then home very soon!!

VeronicaTimeTurner · 14/05/2023 15:57

How’s he doing today @YoungWild any end in sight for all of you yet?

catlover33 · 14/05/2023 19:54

Hope his recovery continues, make sure you look after yourselves in all of this aswell x

YoungWild · 15/05/2023 14:25

Sorry no update yesterday he has improved drastically since the move to PICU. They are looking to step him down tomorrow if he remains good back to a ward. His bloods are better, his infection marks are dropping slowly and he is feeling much better so it’s going in the right direction.

YoungWild · 16/05/2023 20:57

We are doing much better he’s still in PICU and has the cathater still. That’s annoying him now he’s more awake. Hopefully we will get a step down tomorrow maybe back to HDU or a ward. There’s something in his bloods with his kidneys. That’s why they are leaving the cathater in and keeping us as is. He’s been awake a lot more today and sat in the chair for a few hours.

So pleased for you. There's a mum on another thread whose daughter has sepsis not as far along the road as you. Fighting all the way to get the care for her.

Xiaoxiong · 17/05/2023 09:30

Hope he had a good night and got some rest! We're all pulling for you and your DS Flowers
