Hi, our scan date is 29/12. Had a letter to say received, a letter to say sorry for delay.. and a letter to say we should receive a decision within 12 weeks.. however reading everyone's experiences I'm expecting to hear around 14weeks. We are based in Kent. Not sure if different areas have different waiting times. New claim for my diabetic daughter.

Busymummmy84 · 13/03/2023 16:10

@Patientlywaitingx2 my daughter was awarded last week for her epilepsy. scan date was 05/12

Patientlywaitingx2 · 13/03/2023 16:28

I'm scan date 19/12. Rang this morning he said still not with a dim and gave a longer estimate x

DPMW89 · 13/03/2023 17:14

I rang today to check if they received my additional evidence which they did on the 9th Feb. The form not with a DM yet I’m on week 12 scan date 16/12 on the letter it said in 12 weeks. She said I’m looking at 14 and a half weeks at the minute the wait is killing me lol!

Patientlywaitingx2 · 13/03/2023 19:33

Someone told me 2 weeks ago it was with a dm I've got additional evidence but unsure if I should send it

@MummyH2022 im also waiting on a claim for my diabetic son. So bloody stressful scan date 9.1.23 I phoned the other day and he told me I’m looking at end of April beg of may I think that works out to about 14-15 weeks hope u hear soon xx

MummyH2022 · 13/03/2023 22:47

Thank you, hope your son is doing well and getting use to his new normal. I've never known this sort of thing take so long, they must have a really high amount of claims. 👎

Mumtodiabetic · 13/03/2023 22:50

@MummyH2022 thank you my son was diagnosed October 22 3 days after his 5th birthday. We are doing ok thank you. I hope ur daughter is also doing ok and adapting to this awful condition as best she can! I know it is a very long process. The fact u have to wait 3 months aswell after diagnosis like hello there is no cure!!! X

MummyH2022 · 14/03/2023 07:23

,@Mumtodiabetic I know it's ridiculous isn't it, like there pancreas is magically going to start working again. Oh bless him, my daughter is 7 diagnosed September 22, she is adapting well, better then me to be fair 😅 hopefully they are catching up with there backlog as we won't be waiting forever. I just don't want to go through the agro of any appeals etc as I didn't send loads and loads of paperwork, just her diagnosis, medicine letter, libre letter and care plan. X

Mumtodiabetic · 14/03/2023 08:15

@MummyH2022 yes if only their pancreas would start working again would be better than dla 🥲 oh snap my son is amazing me on the other hand still quite emotional about the whole thing. No I didn’t send a lot diagnosis letter and stating he is hypo unaware. Got his teachers to fill out a section aswell. Please keep me updated I hope u get urs soon. What is ur scan date again? X

MummyH2022 · 14/03/2023 08:23

Our scan date is the 29/12. Yes I am the same especially more so after seeing a consultant, talking about all the negatives is really tough. Yes Poppy is also hypo unaware until we are at around 2 which then her legs will really hurt so we can't walk until she recovers... luckily with libre soon to be dexcom this doesn't happen as often. I will keep you updated and let you know what we get, I'm happy with just MRC. Just something to cover all her snacks and hypo costs, there amounting up very quickly 👎🫣🍪🧃 x

Snickerdoodles19 · 14/03/2023 09:23

Anyone waiting on renewals, just letting you know mine was awarded 3 days before due to end, I no it makes you panic and highly stressed but just letting you know the timeline

126t · 14/03/2023 10:22

Hi is anyone waiting for scan date around the 8 th of December

MumtotypeoneD1abetic · 14/03/2023 10:30

Our scan date is 12/01/23... Still looking at another 5-6 weeks minimum. I want to ring just to get an update on timings but something keeps putting me off. Has anyone been awarded that lives in or around London? If so what was your scan date?

Mumtodiabetic · 14/03/2023 11:08

@MummyH2022 snap! We will also be happy with middle rate like u say to cover snack costs etc. it’s really tough all the waiting fingers crossed for u urs is done soon. Ur about 11 days ahead of me so hopefully not much longer x

Mumtodiabetic · 14/03/2023 11:10

@MumtotypeoneD1abetic i phoned on Friday last week my scan date is 9-1-23 the man told me I’m looking at end of April beginning of may. So about 14-15 weeks in total I believe although I’m doubtful and it will probably take longer. U should ring for an update the man was lovely on the phone and I waited about 20 mins x

Dani006 · 14/03/2023 11:14

I’m in South West London (Hampton) my scan date was 16/12 called yesterday my sons hasn’t gone to DM yet she said looking 14and a half weeks at the moment

Dani006 · 14/03/2023 11:44

Oops i meant the 8/12 🤦‍♀️ but hopefully soon. Hope I filled my form in better than my writing on here lol
The wait is getting to me now, I've been trying so hard not to let it.
I have to go in to school to change my sons nappies as he won't allow them to do it, so I get called in once or twice a day, the extra fuel cost is effecting me now, plus I have to drop everything in my day and go there, so I can't ever leave my local area. Really hoping to be awarded and ease some pressure x

Mumrobyn4 · 14/03/2023 13:15
