Did it for a couple of months last year and found it worked well but I fell off the wagon at a stressful time when my MH went downhill. I comfort eat way too much.

I now feel massive and enough is enough!

I have set a meal plan for tomorrow and will probably follow the same basic plan for a week until I get back into it.

Need to add in some exercise too which I am not looking forward to.

Anyone else want to join me?

And if anyone has any dates they are working towards, please feel free to share them also Smile

My DS has his communion in May so I'd like to look nice for those photos.

I also have to return to the office in May and will have to get into jeans somehow.

Long term, we have a family holiday booked for August and I hope to be down a couple of stone by then.

Hi @Inyourhonor I’ll join you!
My aim to lose two stone starting in January never happened, and I gained about another half stone in the process Blush I’m going to brave the scales tomorrow to find my official starting weight, but I think I’m around 11st 7lbs ish.
It’s my son’s birthday at the beginning of June so I’d like to be down to 10st by then if poss, and then down to 9st 7lbs by August if I can.
Good luck for your start tomorrow! I saw you’re doing a meal plan but do you have a rough idea of a calorie allowance etc? I think I’m going to do 1200 cals during the week and then 1600 at weekends Smile
I’m also not looking forward to working out like you- I can’t even remember the last time I went for a run or picked up a dumbbell Grin

Inyourhonor · 20/03/2022 20:10

Hi @princessyoshi thanks for joining me Smile.

I meant to start in January too but its just been one thing after another!

Your plan sounds good to lose a certain amount by june, then more by august. How old is your DS? I guess from your user name that he (or you) like Mario?

Im gonna do similar to you as that worked well for me before so 1200 - 1350 six days a week and then one controlled treat day at the weekend.

I actually need to find my dumbbells, must have a look for them tomorrow. I got out for a food shop today so no excuses now, I am ready to start Smile

I'll do it!! I want to be healthier and generally feel better!!

thismotherhoodthing · 20/03/2022 21:26

@Inyourhonor I'm in! I'm getting married in July and had a baby four months ago. Wedding was cancelled in 2020 so the dress I bought before that currently isn't gonna fit! Starting top Nic!

thismotherhoodthing · 20/03/2022 21:26

*to panic

Libertybear80 · 20/03/2022 21:30

I was 11 stone 7 now 11 stone 1 and want to get to 10st 4 where it will feel about right for me. I'm doing the Noom app. It says I should reach it by 19th April but I'm not convinced and think it will take a bit longer.

Mrsmch123 · 20/03/2022 21:44

I was 14st 5 on the 11th of January now I'm 12st 13. Not really sure where i want to end up tbh. I have a 9 month old and want to be able to run around with him without being out of breath😣

eurochick · 20/03/2022 22:02

I should join too. I'm currently 10st 7. I'd ideally get to 9st7 but know from past experience that will be hard so would be happy with anything under 10.

Calorie counting always does the job - I've just been too busy and stressed to do it the past few months. Next week could be a good time to start.

thismotherhoodthing · 21/03/2022 09:13

Have started this morning. Breakfast all logged in MyFitnessPal . Need to try and fit some exercise in but hard with a baby - will definitely get out for a few long walks

Inyourhonor · 21/03/2022 18:49

New joiners Smile thanks all for joining!

@thismotherhoodthing no better time to start then! Congrats on your baby and wedding.

@Libertybear80 my DSis did Noom last year and it worked really well for her, sounds like you have had a good start with it.

Well done @Mrsmch123 thats brilliant, how have you managed that?

How is everyone doing today? I've been ok calories wise so far but the evenings are my downfall, gonna add my calories to myfitnesspal and see how many I have left for the evening.

Honestly just counting calories. Staying within my limits. I was trying to hit 10000 steps a day which I managed initially with walking with the baby but then the weather changed. I hate the rain, don't mind the cold. So it's just been calorie counting. I batch cook as it stops me grabbing snacks because I'm hungry and want something quick. I even have a pizza on a tues from M&S. im not a fan of vegetables and only like a few fruits. I've upped my water intake massively too.

fishingforfun · 21/03/2022 19:28

I started calorie counting today after a break of a few months and have put on 10lbs. Managed a 5k slow run today and eaten 1203 calories. Just need to resist the urge to evening snack. That is my main downfall.

thismotherhoodthing · 21/03/2022 21:50

@Inyourhonor i've ended the day within my calories and feeling good! need to do it again tomorrow! sometimes i brush my teeth early evening after dinner and that stops me snacking!

Inyourhonor · 22/03/2022 19:24

Well done to everyone yesterday.

How is today going?

Ive had a stressful day and really want to comfort eat this evening but am refraining. I have about 300 calories left for the evening so will try and use them wisely

OP posts:
thismotherhoodthing · 22/03/2022 19:54

@Inyourhonor i had ice cream today! couldn't resist in the sun! but still under my calories so not going to feel bad about it! i get so impatient when i start counting calories i want to see results straight away but i know if i stick at it the results will come and that will motivate me

Mrsmch123 · 22/03/2022 19:55

My weigh day is a Tuesday. Another pound off😬which tbh I'm surprised about as I hate a pizza from the Indian and a subway🙈although I only ate half the pizza and didn't have cheese on the subway🙊we are redecorating so everything is everywhere. I've made sure I've got a spot for the microwave so I don't do it again this week.

thismotherhoodthing · 23/03/2022 07:27

@Mrsmch123 that's good! i weighed myself this morning and i'm down 7lb since start of feb which is when i last stepped on the scales. i'd like to lose another stone before july though

Mrsmch123 · 23/03/2022 21:54

@thismotherhoodthing well done!

ilovebagpuss · 24/03/2022 07:35

Hello can I join along ? I started last week at 1200 calories a day as I have been advised I'm pre diabetic but need to loose anyway.
It's worked well for me in the past as I feel it really opens your eyes to what you are eating and making better choices.
Down 3.5lb this week so chuffed with that start.
I've got a wedding in June to go to just evening do but I've no clothes currently for that. Also we are (all being well) taking our girls for the first trip abroad in July so I'd love to feel better in summer clothes and holiday photos.

thismotherhoodthing · 24/03/2022 08:47

@ilovebagpuss well done that's great! keep going

Inyourhonor · 24/03/2022 19:01

Well done on your losses, thats brilliant!

Ive been under calories all week. I have 130 left for today and am will have either a dark choc mint kitkat or soke healthy crisps.

Am going to the office for the first time in over 2 years tomorrow so will have to squash into my jeans Confused

Hope everyone had a good day today.

OP posts:
ilovebagpuss · 24/03/2022 21:23

Thanks it's very nice to see a few pounds down got to keep it up now. Managed a swim tonight so that's an added few calories off.
I am quite hungry at the moment though missing that full of carbs feeling.
Had a big chicken salad for tea and had enough calories left for a mini choc orange ice cream from Aldi they are really nice and only about 170 calories.
I've not seen the dark choc mint kit kat that sounds good.

thismotherhoodthing · 25/03/2022 07:25

Dark choc mint kit Kat sounds amazing! So does the choc ice. I'm not having any sweet snacks other than fruit, 90% dark choc and 10 calorie jelly pots. Just for the first few weeks as I want to see the scaled drop to give me the motivation to keep going - then I'll start putting some treats back in. Although I'm allowing myself a more carby day today! I used to always buy mini twister ice lollies as they're about 60/70 cals or mini milks which are 30!

Inyourhonor · 25/03/2022 20:50

The dark choc mint kitkats are only about 110 calories and really stop me craving sweet things.

I had a takeaway treat today but luckily had been saving up calories all week - i have less 6 days a week then one treat dinner a week.

Didnt manage to do any exercise this week so will definitely have to do something tomorrow and sunday.

Does anyone have plans for the weekend?
