Did it for a couple of months last year and found it worked well but I fell off the wagon at a stressful time when my MH went downhill. I comfort eat way too much.

I now feel massive and enough is enough!

I have set a meal plan for tomorrow and will probably follow the same basic plan for a week until I get back into it.

Need to add in some exercise too which I am not looking forward to.

Anyone else want to join me?

Weigh day for me and I have stayed at 10st 4 feeling really disheartened not to lose anything this week but I suppose at least I didn't gain! Really wish I had eaten the big burrito at las iguanas now though instead of choosing wisely!!

thismotherhoodthing · 08/04/2022 10:49

@2anddone if you'd eaten the big burrito you may have gained so don't think that way! I weigh every day and take the weekly average as my weight fluctuates every day. I didn't lose last week as it was my TOTM but then have dropped this week -keep going!

Wond3rment · 08/04/2022 11:10

I’m weighing everyday but taking the Sunday weigh-in as my on target / not on target weight each week. The average weight idea is interesting, I might try that.

If I weigh in on Sunday as I did this morning I will be -2.8lbs in 2 weeks which would amazing🤞🏻🤞🏻

I feel vaguely hungry all day but in reality I think what I’m feel is the feeling of not been overly full. It’s actually quite nice as I am really enjoyed the favours of everything I am eating.

I am heading out tonight so that will bring its own challenges

Wond3rment · 08/04/2022 11:11

*enjoying not enjoyed 🤪

thismotherhoodthing · 09/04/2022 09:00

@Wond3rment I use the Fitbit app which does the average for you so it's dead easy

I think we're bound to feel a bit hungry as we're eating less than we have been hit our bodies will adjust! Hope you had a good night out !

addictedtotheflats · 09/04/2022 09:13

Id really recommend nutracheck app. Ive been calorie counting since 1st of Jan and I've lost 17lbs. I started off at 1200 a day and managed about 8 weeks at that and then the last 4 weeks around 1400-1500 a day. Ive eaten what I wanted (calories permitting) and really not felt like ive missed out.

Inyourhonor · 09/04/2022 09:50

Hi All,

Sorry havent checked in since Monday. Its been a busy week.

Had 2 days where I cracked and went over this week but have been good the rest of the days and am still tracking.

Still not weighing but have noticed a change in my stomach which is good motivation to keep going. Smile

Two weeks in and a big thank you for starting this thread!!

I am down -4lbs in just 2 weeks and it feels amazing! Started at 140.2lbs and am now 136.2lbs.

Dare I aim for another lb down for this coming week, it would be such a bonus as we are on holiday the following week.

I am so glad I went clothes shopping on 27th March it was the wake up call I needed.

One slip is all it takes but for now I can happily say I’ve eaten

  • No crisps
  • No McDonalds (loved a weekly McD which was steady becoming twice a week in recent times)
  • No white bread

While I’m still not drinking the recommended amounts of water per day I am now drinking water and I wonder if some of the perceived hungry was in fact thirst?

The other change that I have made is porridge in the mornings.

Heading to a party today, another test 🙈

AngelicInnocent · 10/04/2022 09:05

Only lost half a pound this week which is a little disheartening as I expected to lose more in my first few weeks but, realistically, I'm reminding myself that any loss is the right direction.

Inyourhonor · 10/04/2022 20:31

Well done @Wond3rment that is brilliant 👏👏

@AngelicInnocent exactly all the little losses add up in the long run. And its far better than not calorie counting at all and potentially being up half a pound a week!

I was good all weekend. I noticed my favourite tracksuit kept slipping down yesterday which is nice because something must be happening!! Still not weighing because I can drive myself mad with the scales and know I'll notice the difference in my clothes anyway.

Thanks to everyone who has joined me in this thread. Its so helpful speaking to others in the same situation.

Stayed the same this week. Think I might need to recalculate my calories....or stop eating pizza😂😂

I am being so bad this week....I don't even care! Having a bad week mental health wise and a lot going on with school holidays etc. Am walking at least 10000 steps a day but struggling to stay away from all the comfort foods. Seems every day starts well and goes downhill from lunchtime!

Sorry to hear its a tough week. I suffer the same way so know how hard it is. I had a bad week last week but am pulling it back now. Its great you are still managing to get so many steps in.

We've all had Covid this week so haven't managed many steps but have managed to make healthy choices until today when I've slipped a bit. Scales are down to 136 though from 155 after giving birth and 148 in February. A little way to go before I can fit in my wedding dress from 2019 but fingers crossed I can get there

ilovebagpuss · 12/04/2022 20:33

Gah I have had some sort of virus/cold thing not Covid but it's reduced my will power. Still trying to stick to 1200 but I have been so hangry some days. I think I need more protein to feel fuller.
Still around 4 pounds down on where I started just need to really stick at 1200.
Well done for everyone's losses that have posted them.

Your weight loss so far is brilliant. What are you trying to get down to?

Sounds like a good plan to go higher with your protein intake to try and feel more full.

@Inyourhonor ideally I'd like to be 125lbs which is my pre-Covid weight (as in pre pandemic not before I got Covid haha) but I'd be happy at around 130 I think as I'd feel more comfortable in my clothes etc. My weight wasn't coming off at all until I added a few runs in, upped my protein and took cals down to 1300 rather than 1400. Not a huge difference but was obviously the tipping point. I won't keep my cals that low long term though

That’s really increasing on your tipping point.

After a fab 2 weeks of -4lbs I have plateaued this week. I’m holding so not gaining which is great. I am loving my food at the moment and am walking more than I had been so I really can’t complain.

With the Chocolate fest of Easter ahead it’s a bit of a concern. I also haven’t gotten the protein intake right yet so I do have to stay focused for the next 7 days.

Also have friends over for dinner tomorrow night and will be making my most calorie filled dinner for everyone (by request). I am cooking fish as an option so that should allow me to make the right choices

thismotherhoodthing · 14/04/2022 07:16

@Wond3rment sounds amazing though! Hope the dinner is a success. I don't find Easter too hard as my little girl is only five months. Can imagine if she was older there would be a lot more chocolatey temptation around! Otherwise I just avoid the shops and don't buy any.

Plateau is definitely normal just don't get disheartened by it. I used to weight train a lot a few years ago and track my macros etc so I know how to get my protein in easily which is defo half the battle. Also important to get plenty of fibre in when you up protein. I find chia seeds and flax seeds are amazing for this

Inyourhonor · 14/04/2022 07:20

I am loving the food I am eating at the minute too. So many good low calorie options.

When I was having a bad week MH wise last week I comfort ate an easter egg and felt crap after it. So this weekend I dont think I will be too tempted by easter eggs.

We do have SIL's wedding though this weekend. I dont drink which is a plus and am going to try and make smart choices with the meal. But that is easier said than done!

My dress arrived yesterday and I can see a difference in my body in it just from the last few weeks here.

@2anddone hope you are feeling a bit better now

@thismotherhoodthing we found that young age the worst time for easter Grin

It felt like the whole world bought DS an easter egg and he obviously couldnt eat them so every evening me and DP would open one and share it. It went on for weeks! 🙈
