Did it for a couple of months last year and found it worked well but I fell off the wagon at a stressful time when my MH went downhill. I comfort eat way too much.

I now feel massive and enough is enough!

I have set a meal plan for tomorrow and will probably follow the same basic plan for a week until I get back into it.

Need to add in some exercise too which I am not looking forward to.

Anyone else want to join me?

10st 4 again today!!!! SO frustrating as the scales went down to 10st 2 Monday and Tuesday...I clearly messed up Wednesday and Thursday BlushHmm

TinkysWinky · 08/07/2022 07:35

Could just be water retention @2anddone ? V hard to put on 2lb of fat in 2 days especially in a calorie deficit. Focus on how well you have done overall 🙂

TinkysWinky · 08/07/2022 07:45

Weighing in for the week at 13st 6lb - lost 1lb this week. I only really started dieting for the week on Tues as I was working on a big work project all weekend and Monday and then had a few glasses of wine on Monday night so I'm pleased to have lost at all. Back on it now.

Starting weight 15st 0.5lb
Current weight 13st 6lb
Total loss 22.5lb

Next target will be 13 stone for 2 stone off and hopefully down a👗size?!

TinkysWinky · 15/07/2022 08:24

Weighing in for the week at 13st 4lb, -2lb.

Have mostly lost the weight over the past few days - I had stagnated a bit and I'm sorry to stay it was likely breads fault (despite it being within my calorie count!) so will be keeping that to a minimum from now on. Past 3-4 days I have kept off bread and gone high protein lower carb and the weight has dropped off. Have not felt very hungry and ended up at around 1000 calories a day, which has helped (not long term sustainable I think but good for a boost). Haven't felt as much urge to evening snack.

Hope the rest of you are well and hanging in there!

Can I join?

Thanks to the peri menopause I don’t seem to be able to lose weight the old way for me which is low carb, so downloaded MyFitnessPal. I just need to lose a stone and I think I will be happy.

Designerenvy · 22/07/2022 00:16

Can I join please ?
started calorie counting on my fitness pal 3 days ago.
height: 5 foot 4
weight: 11 stone 8 ounces.

never had an issue with weight until I hit my 40’s…. Now 48 and struggling to lose it…. No problem gaining it though.

on 1,450 calories per day and trying to walk 1 hour 3 or 4 times per week for now.

does that calorie intake sound ok?
many tips to help crave hunger pangs?
having headache today and I’m sure it’s sugar withdrawal 😱… any tips for that too?

anyway, the past year has been awful…. Mental health not in good place but getting back on track and feel motivated…. Hoping I can do it this time

TinkysWinky · 23/07/2022 09:38

Welcome @HalleLouja and @Designerenvy - this is a lovely supportive thread (if a bit quiet at times!)

Your calorie target will be individual to you and your height / weight / exercise levels so I suppose you won't really know until you give it a go 🤗

Sugar wise I haven't restricted myself in that way - I allow for a bit of everything as long as it's within my calorie budget so I don't feel deprived.

Checking in for the week at 13 stone (-3lbs) which brings me to 2 stone off. Delighted and lots of people commenting at work who haven't seen me in a while so that's given me a boost 😁

Good luck to those starting out and I hope the long termers are all doing well.

2anddone · 23/07/2022 22:29

@HalleLouja and @Designerenvy welcome!
Just finished for school holidays here and so I gave hit the danger zone for the next 6 weeks. I MUST keep up with the water drinking and healthy eating....STILL weighing in at 10st 4 maybe that's just my weight now I am older as I just can't get any lower!!

Designerenvy · 23/07/2022 23:56

Thanks for the welcome ! I’m staying within the calories I think but I need to get more active now too ! Hard to get motivated but trying…. Hoping tomorrow to get my walk I’m.
@2anddone i do feel my goal weight will be higher this time than previously…. It is so hard to lose it now…. Best of luck

Hi everyone and welcome to the newbies.

Sorry to have deserted you all but its been a pretty awful few weeks. All OK in the end and back on an even keel now so stepped on the scales for the 1st time in 4 weeks this morning.

I'm 15.5lbs down from where I first started, can't even remember what I was last time I checked in here.

Well done to all those losing and amazing job @TinkysWinky

Mrsmch123 · 05/08/2022 14:17

Hey everyone I went Mia as I lost my mojo after our holiday, then covid then returning to work after mat leave......however back at it now. I'm 11st 5lb🥳so three stone loss since January which I'm happy with😁😁

ilovebagpuss · 06/08/2022 15:16

Hello I am an infrequent poster but love reading the chat and picking up tips from the friendly posters.
I started as I was advised I was pre diabetic following 3 bouts of covid. Yes I am overweight but would never have thought I was pushing diabetic, apparently Covid can hasten this due to damage to the pancreas.
Anyway I had a lovely holiday to work towards which I've just come back from. Since starting in April? I've lost 5kg and actually lost 2kg on holiday due to the heat and endless sightseeing 😀
Anyway I'm cracking on with that bonus and hoping to get to 10kg off by Christmas.
I'm 5'9 and 100kg currently. Size 16.
I hadn't lost as much as I wanted for my holiday and still look fat in the pictures but I felt a bit better and life is for living right.
Welcome to new posters, slow and steady is my tip and change how you eat for life not just a diet.

2anddone · 14/08/2022 08:55

Hi everyone it feels like ages since I posted! How are you all getting on? I am still on 10st 4 which considering it's the school holidays is really good. I have just had a health scare so needed tests at the dr and couldn't drink on the tablets they gave me so that has definitely helped! Turns out I am peri-menopausal Confused so have been given HRT now REALLY REALLY watching what I eat etc as scared of weight gain after working so hard to take it off!! Not sure if it's the heat or the new medication but hardly any appetite at the moment so hoping that continues!! Was a really scary time but glad I now know what is causing my symptoms and they should hopefully get a bit better over the next couple of weeks

TinkysWinky · 19/08/2022 13:25

Hi everyone!

I've been MIA a few weeks as I was on my holidays, then back at work this week. I plateaued for my holidays but thankfully didn't gain, and then this week I have managed to get back into a calorie deficit and lost again. I'm off again now a week so planning to just let myself maintain. Loving how flexible calorie control is.

Starting weight 15st 0.5lb
Current weight 12st 9lb

Too many to reply to individually but good to see everyone back, well done to the 'losers' and hopefully those with medical issues will start to feel a bit better soon 💐

2anddone · 26/08/2022 08:47

Hi everyone just popped on to shout from the rafters that finally THE SCALES MOVED DOWN A POUND!!!!
After weeks at 10st 4 and occasionally 10st 5 today I am 10st 3!!!
My new medication is helping as seems to have curbed my appetite plus have been quite stressed in the lead up to ds's gcse results yesterday (he passed them all) so hoping it continues to head in a downward direction.
Off to Denmark next week for a few days so hoping to be a bit sensible though there will be a lot of walking as we are mainly visiting Legoland etc.
Then just under 4 months until Florida so want to give a big push over the next few months...would love the scales to start with a 9 when I get on that plane!
How is everyone else getting on???
