Did it for a couple of months last year and found it worked well but I fell off the wagon at a stressful time when my MH went downhill. I comfort eat way too much.

I now feel massive and enough is enough!

I have set a meal plan for tomorrow and will probably follow the same basic plan for a week until I get back into it.

Need to add in some exercise too which I am not looking forward to.

Anyone else want to join me?

Hi @AngelicInnocent Smile

I have a similar amount of weight to lose as you. When I was doing this last year with pro help, i started off on 1600 cals a day and did steadily lose weight. (I'm on 1350 now as after a while, I reduced by daily calories to 1350 and use the rest I save as a treat at the weekend.)

Unfortunately my MH can be up and down which is when I end up falling off the wagon.

Its been a good two weeks now with the support of this group, I am enjoying the company.

Update on the wedding I am attending! I bought a dress online. In the meantime I found one in my wardrobe that fits me if the new one doesnt arrive on time.

Im off work today and my mission is to find really good tummy control underwear to wear with the dress!

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

I can walk but slowly and not too far. I'm managing about 2500 steps a day now but improving and getting some weight off will help.

I know once I start to see results I will be motivated to carry on and it's lovely to see I'm not alone.

Well done to everyone so far. Even committing to do it is a big step.

2anddone · 04/04/2022 09:30

Day 1 of school holidays and it's raining here. I am not back at work until 20th April so trying to stay busy and motivated so I don't eat through boredom! Hoping it stops later to go for a walk if not I will be putting on the wellies and raincoat this evening to get my steps in with the incentive of a nice hot shower when I get back!
Enjoy your day off @Inyourhonor

ilovebagpuss · 04/04/2022 17:25

Hope you managed to find the shapewear you were after @Inyourhonor i have some tights that have a tummy control top part and the tights part are super tight if that makes sense. They help a dress look smooth.
I have not weighed for a while had a greedy day yesterday as I did roast for my DF and he bought wine and pudding.
Back on it today though just had a lovely piece fo salmon with a few wedges and tons of greens. Going for a walk shortly.
Is swimming any good for you @AngelicInnocent? I try and do once a week as my feet hurt a lot after walks.

Inyourhonor · 04/04/2022 18:56

Thats what i need @ilovebagpuss - something to make my lumps and bumps smoother!

I'm very hungry tonight and am using my last calories on some crackers now.

A good day for a Monday 😁

I was so tired earlier but got out for a short walk and feel better for it. Calorie count is good for the day so I just need to stay away from the kitchen until bedtime.

Along with increasing protein foods I am thinking of getting a protein supplement as my protein % is low everyday.

AngelicInnocent · 04/04/2022 22:29

@ilovebagpuss I do go swimming but I'm not a very good swimmer so I don't burn many calories. More just because I enjoy it and feel like I'm doing something if you know what I mean.

Your situation is the same as mine! Prato g for dry days so we can get out and I do t lose my mind! I spent the morning chasing my theee around a play centre and took them for a drizzly scoot to the library in the afternoon so ended the day on over 10k steps!
Mrsmch123 · 05/04/2022 08:04

Hi everyone, 0.4lb loss for me this week. Tbh I'm not surprised as I had a pizza and a Chinese🙈🙊must try better this week😂buttttt it's a loss none the less. Total weight lost to date is 1st 9.4lb😁😁

2anddone · 05/04/2022 10:29

Well done @Mrsmch123 it's all in the right direction and you have lost loads so far, how long have you been calorie counting for?
@Ilikecheeseontoast my dc are 13 and 16 so a bit too old for soft play or coaxing outside (even if the weather is lovely!) I finished yesterday on 12,000 steps going out walking later to try the same again. Off to Cambridge tomorrow and going to Las Iguanas for lunch going to try and make good choices!

AngelicInnocent · 05/04/2022 11:53

What sort of things do you have as good choices when you are out at restaurants etc. I really struggle with this and usually end up either having a plain steak and jacket potato, whilst looking longingly at everyone else's plates, or writing the day off. Would love some ideas.

Amazing!!!
Mrsmch123 · 05/04/2022 14:44

@2anddone I started on the 11th of January. Want to get to 2 stone by 11th of April🙈looking less likely now😂

2anddone · 05/04/2022 14:49

@AngelicInnocent I tend to look at the calories on the menu if they are listed and try to choose something around 800 calories (then have a small breakfast and other meal to try to balance it out) usually I end up writing the day off though as everything else looks SO much nicer

2anddone · 05/04/2022 14:50

@Mrsmch123 you are doing amazing! Am sure you will reach your target very soon. I am nervous of Easter and all the yummy chocolates and puddings that usually accompany that time of year

thismotherhoodthing · 05/04/2022 17:48

@Wond3rment if you want to increase protein I sometimes mix one scoop chocolate protein powder into 200g fat free quark. You have to put the powder in first and a small bit of the quark to make a kind of paste, then add the rest of the quark so you don't get any lumps. Then I add some blueberries or strawberries, flax seed and flaked almonds. It's like a chocolatey yoghurt and it's 40g of protein so really good for hitting protein targets!

thismotherhoodthing · 05/04/2022 17:50

@AngelicInnocent if I'm eating out I always ask them to put the sauce of dressing etc on the side as this is usually where a lot of the calories are. Particularly with salads sometimes you don't actually need all the dressing or you can substitute with some balsamic vinegar or something. Or sometimes ordering a starter with a side of veg can be good. Avoid creamy sauces and stick to tomato based atuff

Mrsmch123 · 05/04/2022 18:24

@2anddone I'm a crisp fanatic🙈chocolate I can take or leave. I would easily demolish a sharing pack of crisps. When I put it into nutracheck what I used to eat I was like wow😂😂🙈🙈

AngelicInnocent · 05/04/2022 22:32

I do look at the calories in restaurants but the naughty stuff always looks so much more exciting Blush

Thank you! I will try this at the weekend as I travelling for work this week. Hotel stays (and food) are a real test but I am determined to be down 1lb this week!

ilovebagpuss · 06/04/2022 11:13

Morning weigh in today and about 4lb down from when i started. Bit disappointed as i feel like I am being careful. Must be the greedy Sunday i had. Still it's down not up so that has to be good.
Vile weather here hope it improves for my walk later.
Hope everyone is having a good day loving all the tips and sharing of meal ideas. I seem to be stuck on fish or chicken with some veg and it is a bit boring.
Love salad but weather not really there yet.

2anddone · 06/04/2022 18:49

Just back from our day out in Cambridge. I have finished the day over calories even though I made better choices than I usually would but I have walked 22,000 steps (9.7 miles) so hoping it cancels some of the calorie overload out!!

Wond3rment · 06/04/2022 19:16

Also loving all the hints and tips.

I’m coming in just under the calorie limit this evening and feeling very full so I’m wondering if I ate something I don’t remember eating (wouldn’t be the first time)….

I am also wondering about my 5 a day and how to improve that.

I’ll be so delighted to be down this week, working hard on it.

thismotherhoodthing · 06/04/2022 19:45

I'm under calories but have managed to get bloody Covid - so won't be getting that much exercise in as I'm exhausted

Getting a bit disheartened I've lost no weight in almost 3 weeks despite sticking to calories every day. I feel like this baby weight is going to be really stubborn to shift
