Did it for a couple of months last year and found it worked well but I fell off the wagon at a stressful time when my MH went downhill. I comfort eat way too much.

I now feel massive and enough is enough!

I have set a meal plan for tomorrow and will probably follow the same basic plan for a week until I get back into it.

Need to add in some exercise too which I am not looking forward to.

Anyone else want to join me?

@Inyourhonor that's good - all about the balance! We're off out for the day today in the sun. Have packed our lunch so can stay on track!

ilovebagpuss · 26/03/2022 18:12

Yum take away treat sounds lovely. Nothing special planned here just trying to have a peaceful weekend with a bit of rest. I lost my DM 4 mother's days ago and I always feel a bit worse around this weekend.
Might take myself for a nice walk.
I had a few more calories yesterday and actually felt a bit over full so I'm staying at 1200 today.
DH just Cooked a lovely chicken and cauliflower curry which was very filling.
Hope everyone had a good day in the sunshine 🌞

thismotherhoodthing · 26/03/2022 21:40

@ilovebagpuss a nice walk sounds lovely! So does that curry! Enjoy

Wond3rment · 26/03/2022 22:55

I’d love to join too, if that’s ok.

I have lost my mojo completely, I’m going to ease off the treats tomorrow and hit the calorie counting from Monday morning.

I have 10lbs to shed. I’m at 140lbs and want to get to 130lbs which was my weight 9 months ago.

I have never been this heavy in my life even when pregnant. I am quite short so 140 lbs is way too heavy.

I am constantly craving sugar, eating takeaways….doesn’t take a genius work out the issues.

I’m going to attend a hypnotist that is known to help with emotional eating, it’s a bit mad but I’m going to give it a go.

If I loose 5 lbs by mid June I would be happy and the full 10lbs by end of August.

Look forward to the company along the way

fishingforfun · 26/03/2022 23:14

I've had a stomach bug for the last couple
Of days still got nausea and no appetite. Down 2lbs. Hoping I feel better tomorrow though as this is no fun and I want to eat some food!

thismotherhoodthing · 27/03/2022 07:30

@Wond3rment that's the same weight as me and I want to be around 130 too, maybe a bit less

Oh best of luck!

I would also like to get below 130lbs but will be satisfied with -10lbs to kick off

Wond3rment · 28/03/2022 09:36

Happy Monday!

I’m logging in to kick off the week, weight 140.2lbs

I went shopping yesterday and tried on some clothes along the way. It was the kick in the ass I needed😱

thismotherhoodthing · 28/03/2022 15:08

@Wond3rment 139.4 for me although I feel really bloated today so sure tomorrow may be a different story.

The weather has turned and it's affecting my motivation a little but I need to keep going!

I have 325 calories left for the day. I will get some exercise is while gardening.

My dinner will need to be protein rich and filling. I welcome all ideas 😊

thismotherhoodthing · 28/03/2022 19:10

@Wond3rment I rely a lot of the two chicks egg whites and often make an omelette with those and mix an egg in with them and use eat lean protein cheese, ham and spinach. Low calorie, quick and very high protein although not the most exciting! If you have more time then salmon stir fry? Chicken and peanut butter stir fry?

ilovebagpuss · 28/03/2022 21:32

Im sure this is too late for your calories @Wond3rment but I made a a quorn mince chilli which is filling and tasty with quite low calories. You can have a small amount of rice or a pitta bread and no rice.
Hope you found something to satisy.

Ilikecheeseontoast · 29/03/2022 11:29

Can I join? I have about 1.5 stone to lose to get to pre-baby weight. Baby is almost 2! I have thyroid trouble though and am a busy working mum so am hoping I have time for calorie counting! Am the fattest I’ve ever been!

Mrsmch123 · 29/03/2022 12:22

@Ilikecheeseontoast yes of course. Welcome!it's hard to make good choices when your a busy mum and it's just easier to grab a snack/unhealthy stuff! I'm just chipping away slowly while wanting to be 4 stone lighter like yesterday 😅😅

Inyourhonor · 29/03/2022 12:25

Sorry I have been awol for the last few days, just reading through all the posts I missed. Well done everyone and hi to the new joiners Smile

I havent weighed myself yet since I started, Im just going to keep going and will hopefully notice the difference in my clothes in a few weeks.

@Ilikecheeseontoast I use the myfitnesspal app which makes it easy to track.

Wfh again today so off to find something for lunch. (Who am i kidding, I know it will be a slim bagel or mini wrap as usual!)

Can I join please? Using my fitness pal to track calories. Weighed Friday and am 10st 6 which is half a stone heavier than before Christmas Blushwould like to get down to 9stone 7 by the time I go to Florida at Christmas but concentrating on getting the scales to start with '9' first! Would be good to be accountable to some people. Eating through boredom is my downfall need to find something to stop me snacking in the evenings

Inyourhonor · 29/03/2022 12:40

Hi @2anddone, welcome! I eat through boredom too and evenings are my downfall so I always eat less during the day to make sure I can have a controlled evening snack.

I'd be really interested to hear how it goes with the hypontist as comfort eating is one of my biggest downfalls and something I need to overcome.

2anddone · 29/03/2022 12:44

My biggest downfall is that my daughter does a lot of dancing so I spend a lot of evenings sat in my car (to save petrol) waiting for her to finish so end up walking to the shop and buying chocolate....which I know I shouldn't do but it kills a bit of time!

dudsville · 29/03/2022 12:54

Hi all, I'm on another thread ("not going to be fat and 50"), but saw your thread title and wanted to dip in and see what you guys were doing as this is a relatively new approach for me. I only started calorie counting recently as I'd plateu'd with exercise and 16:8 alone. Now I'm 16:8 and calorie counting (via the suggestions on the TDEE measure) and an injury has stopped me exercising but calorie counting is helping a lot.

Some of you are talking about managing cravings and I just wanted to say the 16:8 has really helped me to manage these. I started doing 14:10 and then found the switch to 16:8 really doable after a couple of weeks. It took a while to acclimaise but I wasn't calorie counting at the time so I didn't feel deprived. Now I no longer really experience hunger, which I monitor by frequent checks in with my tummy, just mind games from my brain that goads me! But that's easing too. I'm someone who ate reasonaly healthily but my portions were huge and this helped to curtail it. I'm always on the look at for healthy filling things, I'm not intentionally low carbing but I do find carbs take up so many calories that it motivates me to minimise it.

That's a far too rambly hello!

Inyourhonor · 29/03/2022 18:10

Hi @dudsville thanks for the info! I tried 16:8 before and might see if I can get back into it in a few weeks.

@2anddone completely get you, what about taking some low cal crackers to snack on while you catch up on MN while she is dancing?

Grhh just looked back and I was 11 stone 1 on the 20th March and I'm still 11 st 1!! It's been a frustrating week!

2anddone · 29/03/2022 19:53

@Inyourhonor I have put a couple of packets in the car and arranged to meet another parent for a walk tomorrow while we wait for the girls, hopefully this way I won't snack at all!

thismotherhoodthing · 30/03/2022 08:08

@2anddone I hear you with this. Could you do something like paint your nails while you
Wait? Keeps hands busy and you won't want to ruin them by going to get chocolate. Or keep a to do list of little jobs/things you need to check online or buy on your phone and use the time to work through it ?
