Starting tomorrow! Who’s with me!?

Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!
:)

Well I’ve fallen at the first hurdle 😂😂

To be fair I chose a stupid day to start. Came downstairs this morning and the kids had made me a big valentines breakfast with all my favourite things which I obviously couldn’t refuse. Ah well!

I’ll be back to talk to myself later! 👍😂

You can still count them and adjust your intake for the rest of the day.

Lottieskeeper · 14/02/2021 09:28

I would join you but I have a lot more to loose (6+ stone)

I have been calorie counting for a week using My Fitness Pal. I'm keeping to 1400 cals or below and keeping carbs below 50g a day.
I wonder if you only have a stone to loose is 1400 low enough for you? Or are you incredibly active?

lifeinlimbo2020 · 14/02/2021 09:44

I want to join too. I have been only eating between 12:00 and 20:00 but at the weekend the wine after 20:00 is ruining it. I haven't been calorie counting but know I haven't been eating that much and it's worked really well and has good health benefits I've read. Trouble is I do have four stone to loose so I need to properly, strictly reign it in!! I keep moaning but it's only me that can sort it out!!! Let's do it!

Amdone123 · 14/02/2021 09:53

I'm on board ! I am starting tomorrow. Am also doing the Annie Grace alcohol experiment, as I put weight on when I'm drinking, and really need to detox. Also Lent gives us 6 weeks to concentrate and get motivated. And, Spring will soon be here and things are slowly getting better !

imp2007 · 14/02/2021 16:45

I'm in - need to shift some lbs before summer!!! Been kind of on it for a month or so but not really lost anything need some extra motivation like your giving up bread for lent plan think that will really help! We can do this!!!! x

BasinHaircut · 14/02/2021 17:51

I’m in, starting tomorrow (Monday), have also got a stone to lose. I found an old weight loss note in my phone earlier, where a couple of years ago my starting weight was where I wish I was now. So depressing!

I know I can lose on 1600 kcals per day so that’s what I’m aiming for.

PutTheCakeDOWN · 14/02/2021 21:02

Pah! You didn’t see what I ate! Grin

Join us!!

I am moderately active (I’m a farmer) but I’m quite small in stature.
I lost on 1400 last time so hopefully it will work again 🤞🤞Smile

Today was a total write off for me but I’ve planned a good 1250 day tomorrow and I’m determined to stick to it!
It’s getting over that first 4-5 days isn’t it until the cravings to eat junk subside.

I’m not going to log calories on Tuesday because of pancake day (and with three kids at home we’ve got to make a big deal of it!) but after that I’m on 40 days of health for Lent, with no bread or chocolate!

Good luck everyone!!

I'll join. 1400 cals and 1 hour walk a day. Been watching gavinmcginnypt on instagram- really good advice.

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 14/02/2021 21:12

I need to join in. Situation is getting desperate here.
All my life I've exercised, walked everywhere, hours of yoga, swimming. Can't get off the sofa or out of the door. I must have put on 2 stone in the year since this started. And I wasn't thin before. Eating everything I can see.

mybodyistempura · 14/02/2021 21:13

Go on then I'll join

Lost a stone last summer on 1300-1400 cals and high protein ( not low carb)

I will stick to the same as it worked. I have another stone to lose.

I'm 5ft 2 and 10st 3lb. I got down to 9st 12 lb last year and my main goal is to hit 9st by the summer

I'm usually good at maintaining, I stayed the same weight for 2 years but it's the losing first that needs dedication!

1300-1400 cals
8- 10k steps( daily average over the week)
3 home workouts per week

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 14/02/2021 21:16

I need to join in and up my activity levels! I only need to lose about 10 lbs but I'm finding it so difficult. I'll be calorie counting and going low carb. Good luck everyone!

lozaa · 14/02/2021 21:16

I'll join I was near target weight and then lockdown number one happened and I ate way too much and have tried to get back into it but failed. My targets 1500 calories on mfp. Got about a 3 stones to lose again :( but I'm going to start tomorrow and stick to it properly this time.

PutTheCakeDOWN · 15/02/2021 07:38

Morning!!

@lozaa I was just the same, a pound off target and then lockdown hit. It’s been impossible for me but I’m determined to do it now, my weight is creeping up past my usual high point...!
One stone off will make a big difference for me, I’m only short so every pound shows.

Good luck today everyone!! 🤞

Starting tomorrow! Who’s with me!?

I'm 4 weeks in and have lost half a stone and would like to lose another half. I'm having 1200 calories a day plus adjusted calories for exercise - I wear a Garmin all the time and do quite a lot of running so don't want to undereat either.

I haven't given up anything, just counting everything I do have.

Good luck everyone!

jelly79 · 15/02/2021 08:27

Oooh I'll join please! I try to stick to 1500 calories abs exercise 6 times a week. I've not put on or lost 1lb in a year and really want to get rid of 7-10lbs for the summer

My problem is evenings and and weekends! I reward myself with extra calories!

I'm thinking about intermittent fasting and saving some extra calories for the weekend so I don't press the 'fuck it switch'

pumpkinpie01 · 15/02/2021 09:02

I'll join ! I downloaded the lose it app before and it's so helpful , But I stick with it for a week then just forget to log which is silly as it's so easy. I'm the heaviest I have ever been in my whole life , really got to sort it this time .

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 15/02/2021 10:30

TDEE says to lose I need 1500
Which seems doable
But then my head gets turned by the idea of doing FAST800 or the Immunity Diet
Ugh
Someone just tell me what to do?

On the upside I got up at a decent time and did a brisk 35 min walk over sanddunes and came back redfaced, so that is already a Massive Success

Do whatever will be enjoyable and achievable. I’m on 1400 and I quite like planning what nice meals to have etc.

If you do something punishing you’re more likely to give up, and if you do stick with it then it’s not sustainable long term :)

BasinHaircut · 15/02/2021 12:41

@Ihatemyseleffordoingthis given that you say you need to lose 2 stones, I’d say that 800kcals per day is firstly unsustainable and secondly as soon as you revert back to normal eating you willl gain it all back.

I’d go for 1500kcals if I were you but don’t add exercise calories back.

I’m having a good day so far.

Breakfast - porridge made with oat milk and a drizzle of syrup (250kcals)
Lunch - 2 slices of toast with 2 poached eggs and a banana (450kcals)

Leaves me 900 kcals for dinner and a small snack.

I’m taking the approach that I try and eat less during the day and saving kcals for a large tasty dinner which is my favourite meal of the day, which will hopefully prevent me from evening snacking too.

Lottieskeeper · 15/02/2021 12:49

Right, I'm definitely in!

I've got to do something, a memory popped up this morning of a picture from this day last year. I had lost 2 stone since the September and I looked almost normal.
That's my goal; to not stand out as the fat one in a crowd. I don't want to be thin just not fat.
Saturday I walked 4.6 miles and Sunday I walked 4 and that's my excersise for the week. I'm stuck at home with a 5 and a nearly 2 year old so this has got to be all about the calories I'm putting in.

I'm logging everything on MFP but maybe it would be helpful if we all listed here what we've eaten at the end of each day?
Might make it easier not to stray off to the biscuit tin.

Lottieskeeper · 15/02/2021 12:57

Wow @BasinHaircut Syrup, Bananas, Toast! These are things I dream of eating.

I'm a type 1 diabetic and have to keep carbs right down to control blood sugars. Also find low carb suits me but I really miss toast.

I have had Greek full fat yogurt and a tablespoon of peanut butter for lunch. (230 cals)

I like to save my calories for later in the day too, can't sleep unless I have a full tummy.

PutTheCakeDOWN · 15/02/2021 12:57

Yes that’s my plan @Lottieskeeper - I’m going to start posting my daily menu on Wednesday though as I’m doing pancake day full on tomorrow so starting properly on Wednesday. I really am!! 😂
6 weeks from now I’m hoping to be well on the way to losing my stone. It will REALLY help me to be accountable on here :)
