Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!
:)

I'm down from last weekend but up from midweek lol but such is the reality xx

AesopsMables · 19/03/2021 12:19

Basincut - you must eat cake on your birthday!!

Yesterday I had a healthyish day, decided to have Strawberries and Greek yoghurt for a change and now feel ready for summer ( they were really delicious)

L: Sardine Pate with tomatoes on toast - 360 cals

D: loads of strawberries and half large tub Greek yoghurt with honey cashews - 650 cals

S: nothing as saving cals for wine tonight!

Not counting cals today as I'm having a take away and wine tonight to celebrate DH promotion - will try to keep under 2,000 though

Have a great weekend!!

Someaddedsugar · 21/03/2021 13:07

@BasinHaircut birthday cake (and lots of it!) is a must!!

I've managed to stick to my weekly net calories but can't seem to shift from 10st back to 9st 13 - I'm wondering if it's just not to be unless I cut out absolutely everything I enjoy (which I absolutely won't be doing!).

I'm continuing with my yoga though and have done over 50 classes since the first of Feb which I'm pleased with. I didn't think I'd ever enjoy buying gym clothes!

BasinHaircut · 21/03/2021 14:51

Is that the last pound you want off @Someaddedsugar ?

I hate that part where you just can’t get the final bit off!

I’ve had a good week food-wise, once the cake was all gone! But I haven’t done much tracking.

I’m avoiding the scales though. I really want to be under 12st on Friday so I’m now on the home straight.

Someaddedsugar · 21/03/2021 15:04

@BasinHaircut I'm not sure if it's the last one but it's definitely the one that'll make me feel like I've achieved what I want to if that makes sense! I haven't been under 10 stone for more than a week in 4 years so it'll be a bit milestone!

I think it's my fixation on it that's causing it now to happen 😂

BasinHaircut · 22/03/2021 15:26

Crossing a stone threshold is a big deal right!

I’ve just got myself out a packet of crisps to eat and then put them back and got an apple instead.

One step at a time!

Someaddedsugar · 23/03/2021 19:18

@BasinHaircut that's a lot of willpower! I'd be straight at the crisps (probably by issue here Grin).

Well I weighed myself this morning and our scales were clearly not all too sure as it was moving from 10st to 9st 13 but I'm pleased to say it finally settled on 9st 13 after a good 20 seconds of flicking between the two (digital scales without oz in the display annoyingly). Definitely pleased with that despite knowing I'm clearly only an oz or two off 10 stone. But still, I'll go with what the scales said!

Just need to keep it off now!

I've found having natural yogurt with berries is working really well, as is the Pinch of Nom under 400 calories book. Tonight we're having prawns with rice and salad and that comes in at just over 300 calories which I was shocked at!

BasinHaircut · 23/03/2021 19:33

It may have been a display of will power yesterday @Someaddedsugar but I’ve just wolfed down a slice of peanut butter and jam on toast post-dinner tonight Grin

Just about to work out my calories and see if I’ve over-done it or not. I might be ok but I don’t really care today.

My surgery scheduled for Saturday is now hanging in the balance as DH has developed a cough and so had to have a COVID test today. We need his result back before the hospital will even allow me in for my pre-procedure covid test, blood test etc.

BasinHaircut · 24/03/2021 07:21

So yesterday I ate about 2,200 calories according to MFP, which is probably about maintenance calories for me, or possibly just above, so not too bad.

Weighed myself this morning and I’m 12st 0lbs 2 oz! So I’d very much like to lose 3oz in 48 hours please! Grin

I know it doesn’t work like that and I could weigh 12st 2lbs tomorrow but hopefully DH’s COVID result will come back negative this morning and there will be no more stress eating. If it’s positive, my surgery is cancelled and we all have to isolate for 10 days then I see some comfort eating in my future TBH!

Someaddedsugar · 25/03/2021 18:24

Still at 9stone 13 - but I don't think the sausage sandwich for breakfast or the two creme eggs and a packet of crisps for lunch will help keep the weight off 😂. But I have caught DS' cold so that's my excuse!

Hope everyone's doing well and keeping going!

ingeborg3 · 25/03/2021 21:57

I am new here. Hello everyone! I am doing Noom, and the weight loss is slow, but at least it happens. I am counting calories, and, as soon as I get over 1200, my weight goes up. I feel defeated some days, and miss the days of youth, when I would eat sugar to no end without gaining anything.

BasinHaircut · 26/03/2021 06:43

Morning all.

Well today is the day, pre-surgery when I wanted to be sub-12stones. And this morning I weighed in at 11st, 12lb, 6oz!!!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly can’t believe it.

Welcome @ingeborg3, what is Noom?

Ohh @Someaddedsugar I could murder a sausage sandwich!

Someaddedsugar · 26/03/2021 06:48

Amazing news @BasinHaircut! I hope you’re proud of yourself 🥳

The sausage sandwich was amazing. I told myself it didn’t count as much as I walked 10,000 steps and ate it while walking (still counted the calories but we won’t mention them 😂).

I looked at Noom when I was trying to find a calorie counting app - does it work @ingeborg3? A friend used it and told me it was really helpful when she used to eat through boredom at work.

Slow and steady is much better than a fast weigh loss that you then re-gain after a short period of time in my opinion.

BasinHaircut · 26/03/2021 07:35

Thanks @Someaddedsugar, I feel like I’ve done it by a complete fluke. I have all but stopped actual calorie counting, but am definately eating better/less than I was.

I’ve lost half a stone now and I am really chuffed. I started 6 weeks ago. After my operation tomorrow I’ve got 6 weeks before I can start exercising again (and at that point everything should be back open yay!) and if I can lose another 3lbs by then I’ll be happy.

I agree slow and steady wins the race with weight loss. Doing it quickly means no real lasting changes to your diet/lifestyle, which means you won’t keep it off. Sadly as we get older I think we need to accept that it’s much harder and is going to take longer too.

Someaddedsugar · 26/03/2021 17:39

@BasinHaircut I hope it goes well tomorrow!

I agree re age being a big part of weight loss. I also think having kids is part of it too. Pre child I could pretty much eat what I wanted and it didn't make a difference whereas post child it's not the same story at all!

Having said that today I have had an awful day. My calories should be around 1500 but today I've had 1850 already and I haven't even had dinner!

I'm still down if you average out across the week but feeling a bit guilty about it especially as I was so pleased about the last weight!

Lubilu28 · 26/03/2021 19:52

Can I join in? I know I’m late to the party but I did start on 7/2/2021!

I feel like I’ve been losing and putting on the same stone for over a year, it’s time to get it gone for good!

Starting weight - 13st 9lbs
Goal weight - 11st
Height - 175cm

I’ve currently lost 14lbs but my weight loss has stalled. I think it’s totm and I’ve got a cold so I know that’s not helping. But after watching Dan wheeler on TikTok I think I might not be eating enough (1300-1400) so today I increased my calories to 1650. I’m going to do it for a week to see if anything changes. Also doing 10,000 steps a day 🙌

Breakfast - chocolate baked oats topped with milkybar buttons, strawberries & M&S sticky toffee sauce (350cals)

Snack - fridge raiders chicken mini pack (44cals)

Lunch - wholemeal pitta with chicken, salad, Mayo and chutney (270cals)

Snack - light and free yogurt (58cals), apple (80cals), fibre one bar (83cals)

Dinner - pinch of nom Tuscan chicken (500cals)

Snack - candy floss grapes 60g (40cals), M&S yoghurt and strawberry rice cakes (120cals), M&S chocolate orange tea cake (79cals)

Ending the day on 1650cals

ingeborg3 · 27/03/2021 06:37

@Someaddedsugar About Noom, I can boast of 10 pounds weight loss in the past two months. It is not going down in the past week, but I had a period of stress at work, and sleepless nights. I am a little hungry at the end of the day. It seems to me that my weight is going down only if I eat a little less that their limit of 1200 calories. I am rather sedentary, after a long episode of sciatica, only 5000 steps a day. I admire a lot the ones of you that can move more!

ingeborg3 · 27/03/2021 06:49

@BasinHaircut Noom is a weight loss program that helps me count calories, gives me some daily lessons about weight loss, and provides me with a coach and a support group that is never at the same lesson with me. All these for about $45 a month. According to my husband, this monthly loss of money is what truly made me lose some weight...
