Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!
:)

No breakfast today

Lunch is going to be leftover celeriac pie (DH made yesterday, Anna Jones recipe) - small slice only, might leave the (wholemeal herby) pastry and spinach salad. Main meal

Snacks will be veg sticks, and a handful of nuts

Dinner will be homemade roast tomato and pepper soup.

The challenge will be not eating in the evening - as I have to work for some of it and find myself grazing. But I'm going to book some evening yoga classes later in the week to give me something to do that doesn't allow nibbling

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 15/02/2021 15:45

No breakfast, I try to only eat twice a day. Soup and pear for lunch as we have an Hello Fresh meal tonight which is a 800 calories! Walked 4 miles though so hopefully won't do too much damage.

BasinHaircut · 15/02/2021 16:22

@Oblahdeeoblahdoe we have an 800kcal HelloFresh meal tonight too, although it includes grated hard cheese on the top which I’m leaving off to save some calories and enable me to have some nuts later if I get the urge to nibble.

@Lottieskeeper that must be tough. I love a carb. I wouldn’t give a second thought to a drizzle of syrup, although it was a toss up between that and almond butter this morning in my porridge.

nowbringmethathorizon · 15/02/2021 16:47

Can I join please? I have started AGAIN today. Heaviest I've been in 8 years (apart from pregnancies) at 10st10lb and I want to be 9st6lb so I have the nutracheck app and will be intermittent fasting because I hate breakfast anyway.

Had a 19 hour fast from last night to today. Had a protein shake for lunch and am having one of the Sainsbury's stone baked pizzas (439kcal for whole pizza!) for dinner.

My worst time is the evenings when I can eat a whole packet of biscuits or whole sharing bag of maltesers etc.

Good luck everyone!

AesopsMables · 15/02/2021 17:07

Yes please, I have gained 10kilo's since last March.

Will be counting calories and logging via Nutracheck app = 1200 day with an increase to 1500 at weekends. I'm going to also try to limit carbs to 50 mg day.

Started yesterday actually so I'm on Day 2.

My downfall is wine, even one single glass taken and my 'Calorie Goggles' appear and all salty snacks disappear 😳

Did a HIIT class this morning and had a Tuna and onion mix on protein toast for lunch followed by a huge Comice pear. Dinner is Chicken Foo Yung (homemade)

We've got this 👊

PutTheCakeDOWN · 15/02/2021 18:25

Ooh think I might try intermittent fasting too actually.....I’ve been having breakfast later and later and after 8pm is my danger time so it would suit me!

Mega good luck everyone!! 🌸🌸🌸

Ok so full day food diary for me is as follows. I feel like writing this down draws a line under the day and I won’t eat anymore.

Breakfast: porridge with oat milk and drizzle of syrup.
Lunch: 2 wholemeal toast, 2 poached eggs, banana
Snack: satsuma
Dinner: lamb and courgette linguine with pan fried asparagus on the side and a small sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.

Coming in at around 1500 kcals.

That all sounds good, and delicious! Going low carb is hard for me but definitely going to stop eating now and try to fast until 12 tomorrow. Is the Nutracheck app better than MFP?
PutTheCakeDOWN · 15/02/2021 19:35

The nutracheck app is LOADS better! Much more user friendly and it’s more accurate as it doesn’t rely on user-inputted data.

I will join you. I now have a good 3st to loose rather than just 2. I blame it on the amount of Nutella and other chocolate based goodness I have consumed to get me though homeschooling.

Me, DH, DD1 and DD 2 are all giving up confectionery for lent. I was just going to say chocolate but all sweets are now included.
The first week is going to be rough!

AesopsMables · 15/02/2021 20:04

I totes agree, Nutracheck is a fantastic App which is better than MFP!

Lottieskeeper · 15/02/2021 20:13

So food for me today has been:
Lunch Full Fat Greek yogurt with peanut butter 230 cals

Dinner Chicken and veg stir fry with coconut and lemongrass sauce 645 cals

Snacks throughout the day
Options hot chocolate X 2 90 cals
Half a pack of pom bears 48 cals
Moser Roth dark chocolate with orange and almonds 134 cals

I intermittently fast and eat between 12:30 & 8:30.

So apparently 1138 cals all day but I feel like I've had lots of treats and too many carbs.

montymum · 15/02/2021 20:18

Hi everyone I will join you too. Day one today and 1400 is also my calorie goal. I had homemade vegetable soup for lunch and have salmon, New potatoes and spinach for dinner. Treat this evening of a few chocolate truffles. I ran 6km this evening too. There are a few days this week we have treats planned in ( pancakes tomorrow and a takeaway on Thursday) but I decided not to say I will start next week and just do what I can this week. I have almost 2 stone to lose.

Faith50 · 15/02/2021 21:03

I have 12lb to lose to get to 10st.
I eat 1250 calories on days I do not walk.
I eat 1400 calories on days I walk.
I fast for 16 hours a day.
I.drink 3 litres of water

Today I ate:
Crackers with cheese
Baked crisps
Tea with 1 tsp.brown sugar

Apple

Grilled chicken
Lots of vegetables
Red wine

I will have a snack later.

Faith50 · 15/02/2021 21:05

montymum Good idea to start your calorie counting immediately. You could have pancakes for dinner and choose the healthiest options from the takeaway list.

BeautifulStar · 15/02/2021 21:20

May I join please? I’m 5”8” and currently 12st 1lb - I’ve already lost 5lbs in 2 weeks from calorie counting. I’m trying to stick to 1200 a day but then have a cheat day on a Friday (we get a takeout although I do only have chicken tikka with pilau rice and a tiny bit of naan - no extras) and then I usually have a bag of proper corn or some chocolate afterwards so usually end up having about 1800-2000 cals on a Friday. It does still seem to work for me though.
I did drink a whole bottle of champagne to myself on Friday too though so don’t know if that will impact my loss this week!Grin I’m weighing myself on Fridays so will keep posting and tracking my progress.
I’m currently classed as overweight and have a bmi of 25.6 and would like to get down to at least 11 stone.
Hoping if I post what I eat on here every day it’ll keep me accountable!

Cocolapew · 15/02/2021 21:32

Can I join? I was low carbing and lost 6lbs in 2 weeks but my god I feel awful Confused constant headaches my hair is falling out and my nails are a mess.
The tdee calculater says 1550 calories, I had decided to try 1200, do I need to do the 1550?
Id like another stone off..

Fiddlestix2021 · 15/02/2021 21:38

Ill join please. I'm a whale.

BeautifulStar · 15/02/2021 21:39

I don’t know if I trust the tdee calculator - it says my ideal weight is between 9-10 stone at which I’d look skeletal! Haven’t been that weight since about age 12! I’m 12st 1lb atm and a size 12, when I get to 11 stone I’m a slim size 10.
Is it an American thing?

Cocolapew · 15/02/2021 21:46

I think I would be too thin if I followed it too, I'm 52 now and look better with a bit of fat on me.
I've calorie counted before and did 1200-1300, I might do that but if it goes up to 1500 not panic.
I put a lot of weight on due to steroids and find it much harder to shift compared to before.

Faith50 · 15/02/2021 21:50

Beautifulstar It depends on your height. The taller you are, the more you can weigh and still be in the healthy range. I have gone from 11stone to 10stone and wore a size 10 at both ends. My waist is small but at 11stone the extra skin is visible when I wear fitted trousers or dresses. I look lean at 10stone which I much prefer.

BeautifulStar · 15/02/2021 22:21

Oh I know Faith50 - I’m 5”8” which I put into the calc but it still said my ideal weight was between 9-10 stone. Obviously it doesn’t take peoples build/frame into account - I have big hands and size 7 feet I’m not petite or small boned at all. I really would look awful at even 10 stone! I prefer the BMI calculator personally.

jelly79 · 15/02/2021 22:51

Does anyone else double their calorie intake at night time? 🤨

Cocolapew · 15/02/2021 23:26

Me 🙋🏼‍♀️. One thing about low carbing was I definitely wasn't as hungry, it's so easy for me to fall into bad habits again.

grapefruitish · 16/02/2021 02:39

I'd like to join in! I just started after a lovely cream tea on Valentine's day. I'm also having pancakes tomorrow but hoping for a small portion with lots of fruit and still keeping the calories down. I found my fitness journal from two years ago when I had my son, it was abandoned after four weeks due to sickness, then I had a tough year and then a year of lock down so I've not got back to my usual fitness. I have just over a stone to lose. I'd like to be 10 stone for my birthday in April and 9st 7lb for summer.

Today I had half a toasted tea cake and a pear for breakfast. Three soya milk coffees.
Sourdough with fresh garlic and tomatoes (pan con tomate) for lunch.
One of my sons mini jammy doggers!
Cantonese pork, rice and green beans. I drank sparkling water and no daily wine which has been a lock down habit I need to bin!

Calories low at 1050 but I was still stuffed from Sunday!
