Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!
:)

@Ihatemyseleffordoingthis

I've just eaten some crisps. I was ravenous. So am over today by 250. Grr.

But it's probably a damn sight better than my intake (calories and nutrition) this time last week.

Tomorrow DH has promised everyone that we will get take out from a new hipster burger place. I'm vegetarian. Do I - 1. Not have any. 2. Have the black bean burger and leave the bread? 3. eat nothing till dinner and just have that?

Does the burger come with fries ?

I couldn't go all day without eating so I would just eat very low cal for breakfast and lunch and have the burger in the bun with no fries. Alternatively I would make some salad and maybe microwave a small sweet potato and have that with the burger (no bun, no fries)

Carrying your little one will mean you burn more - though I can see your frustration!
I bought weights for my arms and ankles when brisk walking. They make such a difference - I feel as though I am really working my muscles more and am sweating when I arrive home.

Cocolapew · 19/02/2021 11:09

Yay I lost I pound! I'm feeling very smug Grin
I had stalled at the same weight for weeks on the low carb, so I'm pleased. The only thing I'm worried about is I've started quite low with my daily total and I'll have to go lower if I plateau 🤔.
Hope everyone has a good day, the weather is awful here but I actually got out of bed before 10 Blush and went to the shops. Going to do a bit of painting today.

Faith50 · 19/02/2021 11:11

Ihatemyselffordoingthis
I would eat the bean burger without the bread and have fries. You could add salad too!

Faith50 · 19/02/2021 11:13

cocacola
Good for you!Smile That is a valid point about starting low. You can only cut so many calories. How many do you currently have per day?

Cocolapew · 19/02/2021 11:22

Thank you! Its been between 1200/1300.

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 19/02/2021 11:37

So ravenousness probably hormonal as just got my period. (Am 50 so was hoping to have this done and dusted by now but not showing any signs. ). So I shall not berate myself for the crisps.

I've had a small Purition and soya milk shake this morning. 250 cals

Will have small lunch (prob miso soup and veg sticks etc) and bean burger without bun, a couple of chips and do a big pile of salad. I am not mad on bread anyway unless it is fresh rotis or some amazing sourdough.

So, as is clear crisps are my downfall.... (also nuts and cheese) but mainly crisps. What is everyone else's and do you go cold turkey or train yourself to eat just a tiny bit?

Faith50 · 19/02/2021 11:55

Ihatemyselffordoingthis
Your meal plan for today sounds great!

I too am not big on bread as well as pastries, doughnuts or scones - certainly helps!

Crisps and chocolates are my weak points. I eat standard pack baked crisps for lunch - look forward to them. I avoid buying large packets of crisps. I buy mini bars of chocolate under 100 calories each rather than the standard bars at 250-300 calories.

I am happy to cut out rice, potatoes, pasta from my evening meals as I enjoy eating vegetables but will not give up snacks. A little is better than none and far easier to commit to in the long run.

Cocolapew · 19/02/2021 12:14

I love crisps too, and sweet bread like iced fingers or brioche.
I'm still having crisps just lower cal ones.

AesopsMables · 19/02/2021 12:56

Nuts and crisps are my downfall along with a glass or two of wine. I've decided to avoid alcohol until I've lost the first 5kilos. 1200 cals ain't much and I want to eat not drink them.

I'm finding I wake up hungry but after doing my exercise can comfortably last until noon for my first meal.

Lunch today was a cheese and veg omelette with side salad which I know will keep me fuller for longer. Eating dinner together tonight to celebrate DD's birthdays (twins)🥳 DH cooking steak. I WILL NOT DRINK RED WINE 🙏😅

BonesJones · 19/02/2021 20:19

Today went OK! I'm finishing my eating window (16:8)very nicely not starving! Small bowl homemade beef and veg casserole with half bread roll lunch, and a few mini eggs for dessert. Roast pointed red pepper with brown rice and sauted veg for tea, a split pot yoghurt, a poptart and half a grapefruit for tea, came in at about 1500. The content wasn't the healthiest today granted, but I'm super full. Had I swapped out the yogurt and poptart for something healthier, calorie wise I could have technically (probably not physically!) fitted in another small meal! More veggie meals and healthier choices are the way forward (it's only taken me 35 years to realise that 😂). DC at their dads tomorrow too so I will indulge in extra long yoga sesh and go for a hike with my friend. If I balance it with good food it'll be a good day for weightloss and fitness. Plus I can sneak in a nap. Naps are good for losing weight, right?!

Cocolapew · 19/02/2021 20:47

If naps helped weight loss I'd be a size 2 Grin

2 snackajacks 124
ham sandwich 171
Mini magnum 137
Fish 227
Baked potato 202
100g baked beans 78
Flake 105
Bottle Stella 126
Mini magnum 137
Quavers 86
Not the healthiest day total 1,278 calories

PutTheCakeDOWN · 19/02/2021 21:37

Well done everyone!
It’s really helping me coming here to be accountable and have a bit of company :) sorry if my menus get boring! Feel free to just skim past 😂

Breakfast - cornflakes (234)
Lunch - Tesco ready meal (311) yogurt (41) banana (81)
Dinner - beef with veg and chips (421) muller corner (150)
Snacks - tea (40) Cheetos (69)

Total - 1347

shinynewapple21 · 19/02/2021 21:41

Porridge made with water , apple slices , skinny syrup

Vegetable soup, two pieces of toast with marmite

Fat free drinking yogurt

Starter portion tikka paneer, starter portion tandoori prawns , half portion sag aloo rice, salad

I have no idea how many calories in my evening meal but it can't be the worst as nothing was in a sauce . I had intended to have a spinach side dish instead of the rice but missed it off the order so had half DH rice instead .

BonesJones · 19/02/2021 21:57

I like reading the menus! Gives me ideas. Although I'm really craving a mini magnum now 😆

AesopsMables · 19/02/2021 23:28

Logging off just under 1200 cals. No wine 😅

Lunch: cheese and veg omelette = 375 cals

Dinner: Steak, potato wedges and peas with a tiny amount of = 590 cals

Slither of choc birthday cake = 100 cals

Milk in coffees = 60 cals
Total = 1140ish

Off for long hike tomorrow morning so may eat breakfast beforehand rather than fast until 1:30ish.

Night all 🛌

BasinHaircut · 20/02/2021 07:45

Well done everyone!

Yesterday I went way over calories. I wasn’t going to log it but I’ve just made myself, just to stay accountable and be aware of how many calories are in what I ate. It wasn’t a binge or anything, I just really fancied a cheesy gnocchi dish that I make, and I also made some focaccia bread which I had a slice of with dinner, and another when it was fresh out of the oven and still warm.

Breakfast- weetabix, oat milk, coffee with sugar - 280kcals
Lunch - leftover cottage pie and broccoli - 500kcals
Dinner - gnocchi, Focaccia - appx 1700kcals.

Total - 2480kcals. About 500kcals of that is bread.

Previously I would have hated myself for ‘failing’ like that but this time I’m not looking at it like that. I enjoyed that meal very much and it was honestly worth every calorie. If I don’t throw a few dinners like that in every now and then I’ll be ordering takeaway, which would have come in at MANY more calories than that (based on what I would order/eat).

shenanigans5 · 20/02/2021 07:54

I wasn’t going to log yesterday but following Basin’s example of being accountable I will do.

Total 5 yoghurt and mixed seeds
Banana- 300
Milk in tea and coffee- 150

Giant chocolate buttons- 250
Prosecco (4 small glasses)- 400

Takeaway chicken and spinach curry and lentil daal, boiled rice, popadom- small portion of all so around 900?

So I think around 2000 although they’re mainly guesses so it could be more. I’m back on it today!

I won’t weigh myself until I’ve shaken the unholy pms I have so possibly next week. I usually retain a bit of water too so if I’m relatively good over the next week I should feel better.

Thanks for posting food logs and things everyone- really helps with the motivation!

jelly79 · 20/02/2021 08:04

I absolutely loose the ability to calorie count at the weekend :(

BasinHaircut · 20/02/2021 08:56

Glad to be of service @shenanigans5 Grin

@jelly79 I think that’s normal! Although now weekends and weekdays are blending into one it’s not so bad for me I must admit.

I’m just having a bowl of porridge before heading out on a walk with a friend. Nothing too taxing but hoping to do a couple of hours which will then counterbalance against the lazy afternoon I intend to have.

I’ve all but given up trying to actually do much exercise other than walking during lockdown. I’m usually a gym/yoga bunny but I just can’t do it at home. As much as I want to I either don’t have the equipment (weights) or the right environment (yoga) at home and I’m not sticking too anything consistently.

I’m having an op in 5 weeks which will then see me out of action for 6 weeks after that. I’ll be able to walk but nothing else until I’ve had the all clear. So I though that’s 12 weeks (from start of this week) to really focus on calorie intake and just getting general activity levels up by walking at least an hour each day so that at the end of that 12 weeks fingers crossed the gym/studio is open and I can get back to the grind!

Someaddedsugar · 20/02/2021 09:07

Please can I join? I’m currently 10 stone 3 and would like to be nearer to 9 stone 6 as I was pre-DS (9 stone would be amazing but I can’t ever see that happening!).

I’m working to 1515 calories a day, yoga daily for 30 mins and then walking where I can (desk job which doesn’t allow for much non-screen time). I’ve been doing quite well for the past 3 weeks (started at 10 stone 6) but have had the odd treat day. As long as my average calories across the week come under total I’m happy.

I’ve massively cut down by junk food intake and agree that I needed to break that habit to make this work and I actually think I’ve managed it. Last night DP was eating sweets and chocolate and I realised if I had any I’d be doing it purely out of greed as I wasn’t hungry - definitely a turning point for me!

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 20/02/2021 09:37

Yesterday went to hell in a handcart for me too. On the success side I had breakfast and lunch as planned. Then the promised fancy hipster bean burger dinner came - mine was actually horrible, so I ate 1 of dd's halloumi fries and some sweet potato fries and salad (fine), half a choux bun and then a massive bag of very delicious low end cheese puffs and a snickers. So deffo up to 2000 cals, all junk, at the end of the day, Epic fail.

But, because of this thread, instead of throwing in the towel, today, I begin again.

shinynewapple21 · 20/02/2021 10:30

@BasinHaircut interesting and quite shocking to see how many cals in the gnocchi and focaccia dish. That kind of carb heavy meal is an example of my normal staple diet . Given I would accompany with wine abs follow with desert and cheese and biscuits it's very easy to see how I've put weight on.

Cocolapew · 20/02/2021 11:09

The calories in some things still shock me Grin I bought individual pies for DH and there is 500 cals in it Shock I would have had that with chips, peas and a round of bread and butter.
My portion sizes have dramatically reduced too since I started weighting food.

DareIask · 20/02/2021 11:12

Ladies, please can I join?

I did ok in first lockdown and actually lost some but I've put it all back on and more besides.

I hate being like this.
