Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!
:)

Morning everyone, I'm not sure what's going on with me, I've managed to low carb for 6 weeks and now have fell off the wagon. It must be true once you eat carby sugary stuff again it makes you hungry 🤔.
I think my problem is when I calorie count I tend to eat more snacky stuff with my calories and eat lower calorie lunch/dinner to fit snacks in. I'm going to eat better lunches and dinners and if I have calories left use them at night for something tasty.
That's the plan anyway 😆

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 17/02/2021 10:41

@Cocolapew I definitely have to go cold turkey on the sweet stuff. I don't even really like biscuits or cakes very much, but that hasn't stopped me eating them lately. Perhaps the way I have been scarfing them since Xmas will be some kind of aversion therapy.

Done my walk, have booked lunchtime yoga and going to make some soup for lunch.

Cocolapew · 17/02/2021 17:06

I'm making my dinner so will put up my food for today.
No breakfast.
Lunch - 2 slices of wholemeal bread 136
Slice of ham 35
Quavers 86

Breaded fish 237
Jacket potato 202
Steam pkt of veg 90

Later I'm having a Flake 105 and a pkt of crisps 99 - 204
I had butter on my sandwich but have no idea how to gauge the calories in that so I'm ignoring them 😆

Total 1,105.

Cocolapew · 17/02/2021 17:07

Oh forgot for lunch I also had 2 pineapple rings 60
Teaspoon cream 65

sparkle789 · 17/02/2021 17:15

Can I join you? I have 2 stone to lose although losing one would be amazing. I had lost one stone early last year but gained it back since covid. I’m feeling pretty crap about my body so really need to get this done. I’m going to allow 1600 cals but try and aim more for 1400.

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 17/02/2021 17:20

@shenanigans5

cake I’m glad you found intermittent fasting ok. I did it too yesterday. Busy morning with DD so I didn’t eat until lunch at 1pm and had finished eating dinner by 7.30pm-ish. I find eating breakfast just makes me even hungrier!

I also like it as it means the two meals I do have can be a decent size and actually satisfying to eat.

That's exactly my feeling on fasting! Always want more if I eat breakfast. I've found I haven't eaten enough over the last couple of days. I'm a bit of an all or nothing kind of gal! Today, I'm going to make sure I eat at least 1200 calories. Another Hello Fresh meal tonight that I'm looking forward to but they're not very carb friendly Hmm
PutTheCakeDOWN · 17/02/2021 18:07

Sounds very positive! 💪
I’ve done intermittent fasting again, got my ice cream to eat after the kids go to bed but otherwise I’m done.

Lunch - 160g pasta with a bit of bean chilli, and low fat cheese. Rocket lolly and apple for pudding. 579cals
Dinner - chicken and veg stir fry. 435cals
Snacks - halo top ice cream 157cals. Cup of tea 40cals. Bag of Cheetos 69cals

Total - 1280

Struggling with no chocolate but I’m determined to do it! Never realised before that I eat chocolate every day 😱

Evening everyone, day 4 for me. I decided to weigh myself just once a week as I know how disheartening it can be to not see weight decline after a day or two, Monday morning is my weight day (keeps me in check over a weekend 😉)

Lunch: Cottage Cheese and sriracha on protein toast. Two boiled eggs and 15 Raspberries = 425 cals

Dinner: Homemade Korean pepper veggie soup, Pear and Orange Kit Kat = 561 cals

Snack: 20g Peanut butter = 118 cals

Total = 1104

Oops, double posted 😳

Ihatemyseleffordoingthis · 17/02/2021 20:35

I love the sound of Korean pepper soup - do you have a recipe?

AesopsMables · 17/02/2021 20:44

Here you go, it's v spicy 🌶! Adjust heat accordingly. I make this with less water so it is very chunky.

Starting tomorrow! Who’s with me!?
PedrosPony · 17/02/2021 21:35

@nowbringmethathorizon my body fats 35% 😳 which is basically my tummy and thighs 😂

Didn't calorie count today but did stick to the 8 hr window. I had
2x toast with butter and vegemite
Left over tapas bits
Two celery sticks with cream cheese
Jacket potato with homemade chilli and some grated cheddar cheese.
And a corona for good measure 🙈
Sugar wise I had two small macarons left over from V Day. Oh and the beer of course!

There will be no children in my house for at least 4 hours tomorrow so I'm hoping to be more disciplined!

BasinHaircut · 17/02/2021 21:37

Evening all. Will post food diary tomorrow morning as I’m wiped and just got into bed!

shinynewapple21 · 17/02/2021 22:06

I would like to join please.

I lost around 10 lb with slimming world early last year but got into lockdown and my eating plan went all over the place so I've put back what I lost and an extra 10 lb to be my heaviest weight ever .

I am aiming for 1500 cal per day max which I'm doing by having home made veg soup to replace half my lunch and half my plate
Veg for my evening meal. Breakfast porridge with water and two portions of fruit .

Cocolapew · 17/02/2021 22:10

@AesopsMables what's protein toast?

AesopsMables · 17/02/2021 22:26

It's this bread toasted Coco.
Only got 4g carbs and as long as toasted tastes just like rye bread.

Starting tomorrow! Who’s with me!?
Cocolapew · 17/02/2021 22:31

Thanks!

PutTheCakeDOWN · 18/02/2021 06:44

Morning all!

I can never decide how often to weigh @AesopsMables - I usually do every day though because even if I don’t lose for the first week or two, from looking back at previous starts I now know that this is normal for me.
It can get a bit disheartening seeing other people losing like 5-6lbs first week, but for some reason my loss starts around week three.
That’s why the apps are so useful I suppose, I can look back and be reassured 😂
If I had the willpower though I think once a week might be better!

Sounds nice @PedrosPony!

Welcome @shinynewapple21! Calorie counting is so much easier and healthier than slimming world, no food is a sin here! Good luck!

Mines in the same places @PedrosPony 🙈! We'll get there!!!

BasinHaircut · 18/02/2021 07:41

Morning. Yesterday’s food diary:
Breakfast - porridge and coffe with sugar - 245kcals
Lunch - cheese and coleslaw sandwich, packet of crisps 500kcals
Snack - Fanta twist and chocolate digestive 150kcals
Dinner- cottage pie and veg 800kcals

This takes me to about 1700kcals which is 100kcals higher than the allowance I’ve set myself but I’ve been well under for the 2 previous days so I’m happy with that.

I’m trying not to weigh at all, or as little as possible. Ideally I’d like to wait about 6 weeks and then hopefully get a pleasant surprise Grin I’m trying to focus on getting a handle on my intake as the goal to start with, as longer term that’s the issue, not what I can lose in a short space of time.

I want to lose a stone and yes it would be nice to get it off at a rate of 1-2 pounds a week and I could do that. But if I do, then I’ll quickly turn back to old habits and gain it back - hands up who has been there and done that! I’m trying to look at it more as working out what my body needs to be a certain weight and also conditioning myself to being able to judge roughly what that looks like in terms of a days/weeks consumption so that I can maintain long term.

BonesJones · 18/02/2021 08:22

I'll join! Logged calories for the first time in my life yesterday. After being a skinny bean who could eat any food and not gain weight my whole life suddenly being mid30s and lockdown and I have found myself, err, a bit soft around the edges. Gained about a stone. I joined noom yesterday for the trial. I'm actually shocked at how few calories 1200 is. I must have been smashing 3500 dsily for years! I feel guilty as hell now about previously wondering why people find dieting difficult! It's barely any food ffs! I've been doing an hour or so of barre, HIIT or yoga daily for about a fortnight, but not lost anything. So calorie counting it is then! I think I had about 1500 yesterday. Going for lower today, and going to try to stick to mostly veggie meals, meat only once or twice per week.
