Possibly no one is with me....but that’s fine 👍😂

I lost weight and got to my target early last year. Then lockdown hit, and I can’t stop eating. I have a stone to lose and I AM DOING IT!

I need to be accountable to someone and my poor DH must be fed up of hearing about it by now bless him. So even if I’m just talking to myself, I’m going to come back morning and night and record my food diary. I’d love it if anyone wants to join for some mutual support and encouragement though!

I’m calorie counting, on 1400 a day. I’m going to have pancakes on Tuesday but then I’m giving up chocolate and bread (including bagels etc but not wraps) for lent.
I’ve eaten my own body weight pretty much in junk today and this just cannot go on!

So there. It’s down in black and white and I’m doing it.
Please feel free to join!
:)

Love reading what you all eat to get ideas and motivation

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 11/03/2021 16:33

@Ironmanrocks

I am a little late to the party but can I join too please? I weigh about 70.6kg and that's more than my DH! I'm a little upset! I have filled out round the middle, and probably need to lose around 12kg. I'm using my fitness pal and have cut out alcohol in the week. Back to work so I'm running around again... I'm also not eating till 1pm. Just decaf coffee....does a cappuccino count as food at 9am as it is 84 cal? Thanks all...
Welcome. I think strictly speaking having a cappuccino isn't fasting but I just count the calories. Good luck!

Had a naughty day yesterday which as per usual starts with wine, my self discipline goes out the window 😐

L: tuna salad with sriracha Mayo plus skyr yoghurt 400 cals

D: 2 glass white wine, handful of cashews, roast chicken and veg then more cashews (finished the whole bag) 1300 cals

Today I'm being strict

L: cottage cheese and crackers, salad 300 cals

D: veggie soup with salad 400

S: 2x small pears 100 cals

Hopefully that will be all!

Someaddedsugar · 11/03/2021 19:03

Checking back in! I've reached 9st 13 which means I've lost half a stone in 5 weeks and I feel so much better for it and I can't believe that I've managed to do this for the first time in 3 and a half years!

I've managed to stick to my 1500 calorie limit and after a recommendation on another thread I'm using the Pinch of nom books to help - the meals under 400 calorie book is amazing!

Today wasn't a great day though:

Breakfast - coffee
Lunch - toast and marmite, special k bar
Dinner - duck stir fry with hoisin sauce and noodles
Snacks - Battenberg cake
Water - 1500ml
Exercise - 30 min yoga class

Having a bad weekend this weekend as tomorrow I've ordered a Mr Wilde meal kit and then on Sunday DS wants to go for a Mother's Day picnic which will no doubt be all pastry and bread (my fav Grin)!

BasinHaircut · 11/03/2021 19:11

Well done @Someaddedsugar that’s amazing!

Today I’ve been ok....until you take into account the fact that I practically licked the bowl after I’d transferred the cream cheese frosting onto my carrot cake Blush Grin

Today’s food minus the frosting:
Breakfast - porridge with oat milk, golden syrup, coffee with sugar 280kcals
Lunch - leftover paneer and spinach curry with brown rice 840kcals
Dinner - chipotle and sweet chilli basa fillet, miso pak Choi and ginger basmati rice 400kcals
Snack - banana 100kcals

So 1,620 plus frosting lickage

PutTheCakeDOWN · 11/03/2021 21:11

I did it!! 1407 🥳🥳

Well done on the loss @Someaddedsugar that’s brilliant!!

Thank you!

And we’ll done @PutTheCakeDOWN!

Someaddedsugar · 11/03/2021 21:59

Very jealous of the carrot cake and frosting @BasinHaircut - homemade carrot cake is my favourite!

BasinHaircut · 12/03/2021 08:35

Well done @PutTheCakeDOWN

@Someaddedsugar I use a recipe from the ‘loving it vegan’ website (without the Apple cider vinegar) for mine, then a very non vegan cream cheese frosting and it’s just delicious, even if I do say so myself Grin I rarely eat a cake that I haven’t made myself as they are usually so disappointing and not worth the calories.

Anyway, today is my birthday and following my disappointment on Wednesday that I’d ‘gained’ 2lbs, this morning I am 11st 13lb 6oz! I can’t remember the last time I saw 11st on the scales! Happy birthday to me! Grin I am so thrilled I cannot tell you.

I am not counting calories today though, and we are getting a takeaway for dinner. And I will be eating several slices of cake over the weekend. Surgery is in 2 weeks and the goal was to be sub-12stones by then. I think I’m going to keep that as the goal even though technically I’m already there now. If I can get a bit more off in the next 2 weeks then great, but if not then I’m happy for now.

I’d like to be 11st 7lbs by end of May and then stay there.

Ironmanrocks · 12/03/2021 08:43

Thanks for the welcome and info. How often do you weigh? I know it's supposed to be once a week but can you wait that long? 😬 I'm having a cup a soup for lunch, sometimes a banana. Then I can eat 'normally ' with my family. Going to be good today so I can factor in Friday wine! 😂 are you all still good at the weekend? I've never done this before. 😂😬

BasinHaircut · 12/03/2021 09:08

@Ironmanrocks if you want to be successful then you do need to be good at the weekend too. You can juggle a bit to be ‘better’ in the week and relax a bit at the weekends but I know that I can very easily eat/drink back my calorie deficit at the weekends if I’m not careful. It’s easy now to do that as we are not really doing anything at the weekend, but it will be harder once our social lives start up again!

Someaddedsugar · 12/03/2021 09:09

@BasinHaircut I'll have to have a look at the recipe. I also love a homemade cake more than shop bought but I tend to stick to lemon drizzle or chocolate marble as I know I can make those and they taste good .

Congratulations on hitting your target! What a good way to end the week! And happy birthday!! Definitely no counting or tracking on birthdays! Hope you have a lovely day

@Ironmanrocks I also juggle a bit and use my fitness pal to work out average calories across the week. I tend to eat less on a Wednesday and Thursday (no real reason) and more on a weekend but it does balance out. And I try to stick to Tuesday morning weighing but sometimes curiosity gets the better of me and I'll have a look at other times in the week but I tend to use my Tuesday weight as the weight for the week if that makes sense.

Ironmanrocks · 12/03/2021 12:07

@Someaddedsugar I like the idea of working it out across the week - that makes loads of sense to me. Thanks. I have planned my eating for today as I know I want wine tonight! I'm 100 calories over on the plan so if I do 10mins on the cross trainer I will be OK!!!😂

Ironmanrocks · 12/03/2021 12:09

Also, I am at home today and I have found it much more difficult here to control my snack cravings. I don't get them at work - I clearly prefer being busy!

Someaddedsugar · 12/03/2021 17:42

@Ironmanrocks I have the same problem working from home - and it's very easy to walk into the kitchen for a snack rather than actually having to walk to a shop to buy one while at work!

Someaddedsugar · 13/03/2021 19:33

An ok day today (well not going over calories anyway!).

Breakfast - coffee with oat milk
Lunch - flatbread with falafel and salad
Dinner - garlic bread
Snacks - babybel and a slice of cake (shop bought!)

Tomorrow will be well over my calories but MFP tells me I'm 1700 calories under over the week so gives me some breathing room (eating room!). I'll be having a day of picnic style food with doughnuts and chocolate - not the best but it's a one off!

Annoyingly I've got back up to 10 stone but I now know I can reach 9 stone 13 so once this weekend is out of the way I'll be back on it properly Smile

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

TeddyBeans · 13/03/2021 20:25

I tried the popcorn chicken pizza today...it was disappointing but at least it's done before I get back into the swing of things. I've had a good rummage around the internet and have decided to replace as much sugary snacks as possible with cartons of orange juice.

I'm an arse for not drinking enough and I think the sugar in the orange juice will help to keep me out of sugar withdrawal. Will try it for a few days and if it seems to be spiralling out of control again then I'll have a rethink.

Any suggestions for replacing refined sugar greatly appreciated 😘

BasinHaircut · 14/03/2021 22:08

There has been so much cake this weekend.

Looking forward to getting back on it in the morning. I have definitely over indulged for the past 3 days.

Andi2020 · 14/03/2021 23:24

Not looking forward to weigh in day 2m morning after mothers day.
And just to top off eating chocolates and Chinese, I had to go and eat a bag of crisps first day in 2 weeks so the whole 2 weeks probably ruined in 1 day.

BasinHaircut · 15/03/2021 09:37

@Andi2020 just draw a line and start fresh today.

I gave myself the weekend ‘off’ for my birthday and I dread to think what the scale would say today if I got on it, but I know it will be mostly bloating and if I stay on track for the rest of the week it will even itself out. I won’t lose this week but I’m hopeful I won’t gain overall!

FedNlanders · 15/03/2021 14:44

I shouldn't have weighed after a bad week I am up 1lb but honestly so stressed it could have been worse.

Andi2020 · 15/03/2021 22:26

At the same as last week so at least mother's day didn't ruin 2 weeks.
Don't know if it was mother's day because I started counting calories and maybe ate more than normal all week
I have cut back today but feeling hungry tonight.

AesopsMables · 16/03/2021 05:54

Morning, I'm down 0.5 lbs which isn't bad. Had my vaccine on Sat and been feeling a bit rough since then although not affected my appetite at all!

I'm getting a little bored with my food pattern as falling into the same meals so will try to add some changes over the next few weeks

Yesterday

L: ham salad with roll 310 cals
D: spaghetti bolognese 600 cals
S: pear and yoghurt 150 cals
Milk with drinks
= 1200 ish

Someaddedsugar · 17/03/2021 18:12

I've put on a lb since last Tuesday but I think it's been down to feeling unwell and comfort eating (not Covid related).

I've been sticking to under 1500 calories though and continuing with yoga at least every other day.

Last night we had the Pinch of Nom Tandoori Salmon with mango salsa and steamed broccoli and I would totally recommend it - 389 calories for a really filling meal that also felt really summery!

BasinHaircut · 19/03/2021 07:06

Morning team!

Have been a bit quiet as work has been crazy busy this week and I haven’t really had the energy to calorie count much, but I’ve been doing my best without tracking.

I’ve just weighed in this morning and flowing last Friday where I was 11st 13lb 6oz, I’m 12st 0lbs 6oz. I’m happy with that, given the amount of cake I’ve eaten in the past 7 days. People keep sending me cake for my birthday and I hate waste so I have had to eat some......ok all of it Grin

But my mini goal was under 12st by next Friday so I’m hoping I’ll get back down there by then. If I do I’ll be ecstatic.

Hope everyone else is doing ok?
