Kayzr · 11/02/2010 07:33

Hello!!

Thanks for the new thread.

maxxymoosmummy · 11/02/2010 07:43

morning thanks for the new thread.

essenceofSES · 11/02/2010 08:05

Morning!

Gin - thanks for new thread!

O woke about 7am as usual but I heard a funny interference on the monitor. I went in and he'd obviously stood up, reached over the end of the cot and pulled it in to him. He was sat down playing with it!
(Note to self: move mattress down and monitor out of reach!)

We've got the first stage of our extension happening today. Not really directly to do with the building works but just having our gas meter moved as it will be built around otherwise! They need to do some new piping from the road so may take a few days. I'm just hoping that , with this cold weather, we don't need to have our gas turned off v much!

cantmummyhaveabreak · 11/02/2010 08:44

Morning... DD1 is still a bit 'warm' to touch so we've kept her off to be safe.

The 'one born every minute' i wasn't too bothered about the man being a joker... i sort of wish DH had been like that as i was trying to keep the mood on high levels when in labour as it was way too quiet and he just watched me (didn't want him touching me)... i wanted to laugh and joke so ended up cracking the jokes myself!! As for the DH who didn't go and see his baby in SCBU- I have to say DH never went to see DD2 without me, he said it didn't feel right, i'd been carrying her all that time, and it was me that needed to bond the most with her, he felt he'd be taking time off me by seeing her, or that i'd be upset that i couldn't be there. So that didn't bother me at all. I have to say DH even now says he feels guilty that he saw her at a few mins old, yet i dont remember seeing her till she was over a day old!! It does bother me a lot that i wasn't the first to see her, change her nappy, count her fingers and toes... but i'm gonna have to just deal with it in time i suppose.

tinksbabyis1 · 11/02/2010 10:18

awaiting my packages today - book for dd1,boden pjs and bed sheets

i hasve just finished cleaning, taken down washing and put in washing, hoovered, dusted and made our bed

Kayzr · 11/02/2010 10:32

I'm bleeding heavily now so I'm guessing it's just my period coming early. It's so confusing.

NatalieJane · 11/02/2010 11:45

Morning all

Thanks for new thread Gin Sorry about poss operation, that is heartbreakingly sad. Does it make you feel any differently about TTC-ing?

Kayz, maybe it has just been an odd cycle, it happenes every now and then, if it seems like you didn't OV and now an early period, at least chances are this is the start of a normal cycle, and you will be able to get a clearer view with the temping? You know, have just come back to you, could it have been the stress with DH causing an odd cycle?

Ses, glad you had a lovely CP break, sorry for O's poorlies though, sound's like he is back on form this morning though?!

Tink, hope you don't have to wait too long for the deliveries Is the bed coming tomorrow?

Diege, sorry for migraine shattering your restful night work Loved the very tempting student bribe, not sure I could resist sending him a text back, something along the lines of "hi babes im reggie im marking ur exam you got a d ill make it an a if ur up 4 it m8 i no wot town ur in im only 5 mins away xxx" firstly would love it if he actually had the balls to text back, secondly would live in eternal bliss at the thought of the look on his face when he read it, whether he replied or not. (Bloody hell, text speak is hard, by the time I'd thought of how you would write it, I could have written it properly, sent it, recieved one back and replied again...)

That 'One Born Every Minute' I think a lot of the dads were just feeling uncomfortable with the cameras there, the only bit I found a bit strange was the son in the labour room, when the dad went out for a ciggarette yoghurt, the poor lad, he's watching his mum screaming, and when he asked if she wanted to squeeze his hand or something, we were in hysterics, the poor lad didn't know what to do, though I noticed he got proper stuck in when it came to the actual birth I was goggle-eyed all the way through though, and then spent hours looking at this I think it is a good thing to watch after you've given birth, not sure I'd have wanted to see 'behind the scenes' before having kids.

We've got DS1's parents evening tonight, it's the first one at his new school, I am a bit nervous, from all accounts he has settled in well and there doesn't seem to be any problems but still can feel that little bit of (ever so slight, and probably mis-placed) worry edging in. We put DS2 and 3's name down for the same school last week (didn't do it straight away when we moved incase we had any major probs with the school or anything) seems DS2 might have some trouble getting in, there are 40 kids on the list already for his class, apparently one of the busiest lists in the area, mainly due to the fact that there are 4 sets of twins all due to go into that same class! That poor teacher, can you imagine if they are all ID twins? Oh the fun that could be had!

I am having a lazy day, feel a bit fuggy and grumpy, have hurty body parts all over, went to bed last night with a slight fever, that's gone today, but asuming I have picked up some virus or something. So, have been shopping and sorting DS1's birthday, it's a month away yet, but figured I'd get it out of the way.

cantmummyhaveabreak · 11/02/2010 13:32

afternoon... DH has just left for DS's open activity day... bit that i couldn't go, but didn't wanna fill the whole class by trapsing DD1, DD2 there and the pair of us aswell!!

Have just had a very good stroke of luck- found some old books that we'd had on top of the DC's wardrobes, they belong to DH's dad... he cleared the house of anything he wanted when he first bought the house, before we moved in and bought it... we've just looked online and they are worth a fair fortune (same full set selling on amazon for £525!!) and an old guinness book of records (again worth about £30-50) which was also his dads.... now his dad has conned us out of a lot of money through buying the house off him (about £25k we reckon) and he never visits etc... would it be wrong to sell the books and pocket the cash towards the house? He hasn't asked about them in the 5 years we've had the house, surely he can't think we're saving them? i dont even know if he knew they were in here, or if he did he obviously didn't think it was worth taking them...

Diege · 11/02/2010 14:02

Hello! Just marking my place and running as very overwhelmed with marking, with 2nd sample meant to be in post this pm - no chance!
Very quickly, CANT, if he took what he wanted when he left the house, I'd say fair game, keep them and get some benefit from the sale? Or, as a compromise (if you are a goodie), maybe sell then offer him a percentage? But then you are opening a can of worms potentially...second thoughts, keep quiet .
Loving the letchy old Reg Nat
Hello to all! Back later if poss x

cantmummyhaveabreak · 11/02/2010 18:10

evening- Diege- i think we are going to sell them- it's exciting wondering what they might actually be worth- even £100 would help towards the floor, it's money for something that was just sat on the top of the wardrobes doing nothing, have no sentimental value as DH never even knew they existed till we found them in the house!!

Waiting for the builder to come and let us know the cost of replacing or fixing the dining room floor- got that sicky feeling in my stomach- like it's gonna be a massie job- can only be plesantly surprised if it's not too big a job i suppose ...

Also starting to get butterflies about the course tomorrow. it feels like i'm having my fist day at a new school- how silly!!

essenceofSES · 11/02/2010 18:26

Cant - butterflies understandable but I'm sure you'll have a great time and be fab
Also exciting about those books! It's a tricky dilemma but if he categorically said that he'd taken everything he wanted...

Diege - hope you manage to get everything done. Sounds like you've got a hefty workload.

Nat - hope the parents evening goes well

Gin - your situation sounds hard. I was put on the pill at the age of 14 because of my heavy, painful periods - I used to pass out every month - so I understand a little. Guess a decision re ttc may be forced upon you.

All a bit chaotic here today. Gas was switched off but is now back on and apparently they're finished except for making good out path outside. And that cost us over £1100!!!!
Was complicated by the fact that they weren't here before I had to go out at 10am so I left and was going to phone DH from the car to let him know but my phone stopped working. He then tried phoning me and got himself all wound up because he couldn't get hold of me! All sorted in the end though.

O had another settling in session at nursery today for 4 hrs over lunchtime. Having fallen and cut inside his mouth yesterday, he did exactly the same thing again today and they'd entered it in the accident book and everything! I'd hardly have noticed tbh but I guess that's what comes of having teeth and standing!
Earlier I noticed him standing whilst holding on and then letting go with both hands. He ended up on his bum but it didn't stop him trying again!

maxxymoosmummy · 11/02/2010 19:28

heya everyone, hope all is well.
been out all day agin today. went shopping and had DSs feet measured but im rather confused, as they said there a 3 1/2 but theres still lots of room in his size 3 clarks :S there is deffo no stopping him from walking now. its all he does.

Hello everyone
Thanks for the new thread Gin. Sorry for the Norvirus.... hope you are feeling better or whoever had it.

Just a quick one to mark the thread.

Will catch up properly over the weekend

Missing the Wagon again. Bloody work!!!

tinksbabyis1 · 12/02/2010 13:36

hi ginger

i have had a shopping accident!!! i feel so naughty like a naughty school girl.
dh made me cancel my vertbaudet account i have just opened another one bought dd1 a toadstool bedside light to go with her new bed and a flowr lampshade for ceiling
i have cut out some things i was going to buy her from boden i am leaving one long sleeve top and the shorts
receieved side table, pillows and duvet going to have a look now

essenceofSES · 12/02/2010 14:28

tink - lol at shopping accident!
I'm sure it's not the first and won't be the last

Ginger - hello!!! How dare work get in the way of MN!!!

MMM - I always find feet measuring confusing. My feet always seem to vary in size

Cant - hope today's going well!

All fine here. Met up with some friends this morning for coffee/hot chocolate. Was a bit wonderfully chaotic as they have 2DC each so we had a 3yr, 2yr, 18mo, 11mo and 9mo!
Going to try and get O to have a nap in his cot now....

Diege · 12/02/2010 16:27

Hello!
Lol TINKS - verbaudet subterfuge eh... bed stuff sounds great!
SES,your outing sounds good - I like 'wonderfully chaotic'
Succombed to impluse buy for ds in Clark's (was buying dd3 new trainors). Bought ds some 'crawlers' that look very cute on - he's a 2.5G, not that he'd straighten out his feet. Total waste of money really as I keep him in socks/starchilds most of the time, but couldn't resist
Hi GING! Hope you get a chance to get on and tell us your news soon x
CANT, how dod the course go? Looking forward to hearing all about it.
Hi MMM, agree that sizes vary immensely. DD3 has been in a 9 all summer and measured a 8.5 today
Better get back to it. In retrospect I have taken far too much on with this marking I have an 'extension' on the dealines, but will be lucky to make that

tinksbabyis1 · 12/02/2010 16:34

hi

headache coming back have taken more tabs and dh back early so should be ok

Kayzr · 12/02/2010 17:17

Do we still have the sick bay in the wagon? I'm feeling really sick. My stomach feels like a washing machine.

Hope everyone is ok. Tink hope you feel better soon.

NatalieJane · 12/02/2010 17:46

Evening all

Bed stuff sound's great Tink I had a little accident as well, only with Next, sudden need for plain red t-shirt for something DS1 was doing at school, only place I could find with next day del was Next, swore I'd not open another account with them after closing the last one (sending me catalogues after I told them not to, and then charging me for them... ) Problem being followed first order up with some bits and pieces for all 3 of them, and now I am back in the Next habit cycle, don't like most of their things for the boys, the quality is rubbish, and sometimes overpriced, but sometimes very cheap and most things in stock, always got the next day del.... hate that shop grrrrr. Sorry, my rant is over!! I am in a very good mood, have been holiday shopping, well at least browsing, best type of shopping methinks! Sorry for your headache, hope it eases with more tablets.

Diege, is there anyway of not doing them? Or at least not having to do so many? It doesn't sound like much fun.

Kayz, hope you feel better soon. Has DH had any luck with any jobs or anything?

Ses, cafe sounds like some sort of hellish fun

Hello everyone else

Guess what?????

It's FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

DH is on call all weekend and working tomorrow morning but who cares? Have got a load of housework to do, am planning on: music up, the kids and I dancing around, me with a feather duster in one hand and singing into the broom handle, them fighting over who is hoovering and who is standing on the hoover while the other one is hoovering, me kind of wishing they'd hurry up and sort it out so they can "hoover" so I can hoover properly, can't wait Until then, just waiting for DH's van to pull up so I can run very fast to the fridge and pour the wine, obviously for his sake having had such a hard day at work....

Am in such a good mood Which is lovely because I have done nothing but grump for the last couple of weeks, probably understandable but god I was annoying myself how bloody grumpy I was! Hey, did I mention Friday and wine?

Have a good weekend everyone xxx (Tink, enjoy putting the bed up )

NatalieJane · 12/02/2010 17:50

Sorry, 12 's in one post (which was quite a small post as well, well, small for me) is wayyyyyy over the top, by anyone's standards!

Oooooh I hear van noises....

maxxymoosmummy · 12/02/2010 18:18

evening everyone.
just got in from shopping, and taking DS to the park on his bike he loved his bike but hated the park other than the swings. but he was tired so im putting it down to that, s normally he loves it. having a relaxing night with the soaps and then bath
not sooo sure on what to make for my tea as DS is fast asleep in bed after having a psta salad.
also very strange on the sizes DIEGE, it has confused me alot, as he was measured in clarks, but had a 3 on tht are a little big still.

Diege · 12/02/2010 23:16

Evening! Hope the sick bay is treating you well TINKS and KAYZ, and that you are soon back and into the wagon proper!MMM enojoy your evening - sounds blissful!
NAT, your post made me smile Great that you're feeling better and hope the weekend is good (and that you - and everyone else - has a good st. vals day!).
Exam script-wise I am doomed to continue (well I could plead and return them, but that wouldn't go down well at all as some other poor sod would have them added to their consignment...we truly are slaves, and have a 'script checker' assigned who monitors when marks are inputted etc...Also have half term next week, so have negotiated an extension to deadline, but as usual have been furiously optimistic about when I'll have them done by...cue furtive script checker action come a week on Monday
Right, O'm done in so off to bed. Hope everyone has a good night's sleep!

maxxymoosmummy · 13/02/2010 08:54

morning everyone, hope you all have great weekends. i have woke up with yet another banging headahe. the 3rd morning in a row now
thinking about taking DS to the zoo but not too sure.

Diege · 13/02/2010 09:18

Morning! Oh no MMM, I really hope your headache improves . I find if bad headache (but not migraine) that solphadine seems to work. Zoo sounds good, but tough when feeling rubbish I'd imagine.
Have ordered some wallpaper samples this morning for dds' rooms. Would have gone for paint, but they're covered in stubborn woodchip which would need a replastering job really before they could be painted on (can't strip due to age of paper beneath and risk from lead/arsenic based poisoning' according to surveyer). On that exciting note I'd better get some marking done while ds having nap. Back later!
