Hello all! Thought I would start this off as our existing thread is full!

Hi dal - good thread title. Although the way we all chatter on they'll probably still all be beans by the time we need another thread.

Sersi - have just caught up with todays posts! Thank goodness you managed to speak with a lovely sounding MW! Am so glad you have a scan tmrw

Hats off to all you ladies still getting busy. I reckon DH would get a right hook if he came near me right now! He is lush, but not right now!

On a serious note, please stop writing about chips! I could murder some chip shop chips.

sersi, am keeping everything crossed for you for tomorrow; glad you found an understanding sister. The EPU where I am were utterly brilliant.

Sersi · 10/06/2009 18:41

my in-laws live in Newmarket which has an amazingly good chippy - mmmmm - so good I may be tempted to visit them on a regular basis.

timmette · 10/06/2009 18:50

Sersi good luck tomorrow - I hope you get good news.

Anyone hold my hand tomorrow - I have to go for blood tests - was supposed to go today and wasn't brave enough - last time I went the nurse tried to take blood from the side of my wrist and it hurt so much and I fainted....and cried.
I am not a wimp and used to give blood and have never fainted but got the nurse from hell who after all that lost the blood .

Sersi · 10/06/2009 19:14

thanks all - will let you know how I get on.
closing down the pc now though.....

timmette hope tomorrow's bloods are a more straight forward experience.

sazlocks · 10/06/2009 19:33

evening all
quick check in - all good here.
claire I have gone off eggs too which is a bit of a PITA as we have hens who give us 4 lovely eggs a day.
skidoodle know this was a few posts back but relate totally to your feelings of ambivalence. I feel dreadful admitting to that as this baby is much, much wanted but I am feeling quite low about feeling so rubbish. Having had fertility treatment to concieve with DS I feel even worse really as I feel like I should feel grateful at every wave of nausea and bout of tiredness!

totalmisfit · 10/06/2009 19:37

dal, chips have been one of the few things i've actually enjoyed eating - had them with lunch yesterday and today too!

sersi good luck, hope everything's ok.

Hi

Good luck at the EPU tomorrow Sersi.

I've also added myself to the list below (though I feel like I'm tempting fate after a mmc last year) and some stomach cramps today. It'll only be real to me and DH if we have a successful scan, like you totalmisfit.

I haven't had any pregnancy symptons apart from tender breasts - no sickness nothing - gives me something else to worry about I suppose.

totalmisfit · 10/06/2009 19:47

sazlocks - i'm also surprised at how ambivalent i sometimes feel; sometimes about the pregnancy and how utterly crap it's making me feel, and sometimes about my abilities as a mother and whether i'm doing the right thing having another baby when dd's such a handful. But other times i picture this nameless, genderless, still vaguely hypothetical child playing happily with dd and i 'know' we're doing the right thing, iykwim?

timmette · 10/06/2009 19:49

totalmissfit thanks for that - I am swinging between all pregnant and happy and not really believing it and pretending I am not - so I sound crazy - lol.
marmitemonster envious of chips. . I have great veins which was even more surprising when he stabbed me in the wrist and missed the vein and wriggled the needle around until he got a trickle of blood - I was bruised for 2 weeks.
Funny how pregnancy changes normal well balanced women into hormonal, paranoid, hypochondriac knicker checkers - and I mean me.

totalmisfit · 10/06/2009 20:01

marmitemonster i made dd and i a really weird 'let's see what's in the cupboard' meal this evening as dh is away: crumpets with melted cheese, boiled marrow (the vegetable kind, not the bone kind, lol!- reminds me of the childhood i spent trying to avoid eating it), tinned tuna, mayonnaise and green and red peppers.

Sorry if i'm making anyone feel ill reading this ( i know i am) i ended up just eating the crumpets and 'saving' the rest in the fridge for dh's return tomorrow

Liskey welcome to the thread. Sorry to hear about mmc, i know it's easy to feel like you're tempting fate this time around, but i think the good thing about threads like these is how much support is shared amongst the posters throughout the highs and lows.

I can empathise when it comes to cramps as i've had a few 'oh god, what's happening' moments of late. they are pretty normal at this stage as i'm sure you know - usually just the womb expanding and shoving everything else out the way, but i can imagine it's still pretty hard to relax.

Liskey · 10/06/2009 20:19

Cheers for that totalmisfit when I had my booking in with the midwife she told me I'd be knicker checking throughout my pregnancy as its what you do following any mc.

One of my colleagues had work today was showing a picture of a scan his wife had had - at 8 weeks - I was really tmepted to say so am I - but trying to keep it quiet for a bit longer. Though some of my friends at work do know.

I felt convinced I was going to miscarry today - had a backache - which I know logically was caused by me wearing heels for 2 days running (which never does me any good) but logic never seems to work.

I like the sound of a made up meal - sounds like a picnic with your DD which she'll really enjoy. (Apart from tuna - feeling vaguely nauseous at the thought of tuna though my cat would be round at yours as soon as the tin opener comes out).

Just had the biggest bowl of bread and gravy yum yum was thinking about it all afternoon its all I fancied

sersi good luck for tomorrow

I'm stalking the post lady waiting for my scan date lol

sleepingalot · 10/06/2009 20:44

Hi everyone and welcome to all the newcomers.

can't believe how quickly this is moving, just took me 15 mins to catch up from the weekend.

Not posted for a few days as have been super paranoid with pains, cramps and a discharge that sounds very similar to the one you describe marmitemonster. No ms ever to speak of AND my boobs aren't hurting anything like they were. Convinced myself that things were going wrong and didn't want to bring anyone else down! Feeling better today, tho and reading the posts it seems most people are experiencing some kind of ache, pain, twinge... and are expert knicker checkers

I was really calm about everything for weeks but like us all I'm just wanting to race ahead to 12 wks. This is my 1st prenancy, DH n I married for almost 11 yrs and trying for more than half of the time. Had several fertility treatments...this was our 1st attempt in IVF. So it's been a long road to get here and am so happy but so nervous too.

Have 9wk scan tomorrow so hoping everthing is fine and I can relax into a little more.

sersi hope everything goes well for you tomorrow
