Hello

I have just found out that I am pregnant and calculate that the baby is due on 1 May. It's a bit early for me to be getting excited but I can't help it!

Is anyone else due in May?

Hi, sorry name changed, got my bfp today and am due May 1st as well. Have had 2 miscarriages though so excited and scared at same time

ScaryHairy · 21/08/2008 12:03

Hello - am very glad I am not the only one (although the post natal wards would be lovely and quiet ).

I am not supposed to be getting excited either, as I have had an ectopic and a chem preg this year, but somehow this one feels more right! It's hard to stop the paranoia from creeping in though...

Congratulations on your BFP.

getting any symptoms?

not feeling sick yet but very sore breasts, slight indigestion and very tired

ScaryHairy · 21/08/2008 12:11

Mildly sore breasts and am very tired but that's it.
I have a little girl already and never once got sick when I was carrying her, so I really hope to miss it again.
It's the heartburn I am really not looking forward to...

Will this be your first baby?

justgotbfp · 21/08/2008 12:14

second ds is 4 so quite a gap but we have lost 2 in between. I had reasonable m/s when pregnant with him so could handle that again, had extreme!!!! m/s with first loss, don't think I could handle that again, and I had blotted the whole heartburn thing from my memory. How old is your little one?

ScaryHairy · 21/08/2008 18:27

She's two. Assuming all goes well she'll be nearly three by the time this one is born. We've rather deviated from our plan to have our kids less than 2 year apart!

sahbear · 21/08/2008 19:09

Hello,

Congratulations!

I'm testing tonight, but feel very sick and quite confident, but will post again with a BFP soon I hope. EDD will be May 1st too!

It's very exciting!

ScaryHairy · 21/08/2008 19:24

Wow - lots of luck Sahbear. I hope you get your BFP

OP posts:
sahbear · 21/08/2008 23:05

BFP - woohoo indeed!

It will be my 2nd. DS is 14 months, and just trying to work out how we'll all squeeze into our little house!

I had early morning sickness last time so I was quite sure when I was queasy on and off today.

BrightSideOfLife · 22/08/2008 07:44

Morning All,

I have just found out I am pregnant and am due May 1st. (Or 3rd, depending on how you calculate it !)

This will be our first DC - I lost my first pregnancy at 10 weeks in March so shouldn't be getting excited yet, but can't help it. I feel quietly confident that this little bean is here to stay

My first symptom was implantation spotting starting at 6DPO, but that seems to have stopped now. I also feel really nauseaus - it wakes me up at 3 / 4am every morning. I didn't have that with my first pregnancy - so it is a new (And not particularly pleasant!) experience!

I wish I could know now that everything will be OK this time - It is so hard to be patient, isn't it!

ScaryHairy · 22/08/2008 09:19

Welcome Brightsideoflife and Sahbear. Congratulations to you both.

Brightsideoflife - It is so very hard to stay patient. I will be having a scan in a couple of weeks but until then just have to try to stay zen about the whole thing (easier said than done, when I notice every single twinge).

Just keep thinking positive

Thanks ScaryHairy,

Hello & Congratulations to everyone as well -I really should have said that first!! (Self absorbed at the moment? Me? NEVER!)

justgotbfp · 22/08/2008 10:14

Hi everybody. Congratulations Sahbear and Brightsideoflife. It is really hard not to be nervous when you have lost pregnancies in the past. I have kept my test and keep going and having another peak to make sure the extra line is still there, not to mention worrying about every twinge. I am going to try to hold off on scans if I can until the sexing scan.

ScaryHairy · 23/08/2008 12:51

Self absorbtion is entirely normal at a time like this BSOL. My whole day is taken up thinking about how/where I want to deliver at the moment and I am only 16 dpo or something!

You have more willpower than me justgotbfp but then I have to have an early scan because I really need to be sure that this one isn't in a tube.

Anyone else want to join? We can't be the only ones!

heverhoney1 · 23/08/2008 13:16

Hi can I join too BFP this morn!! around 14 days post OV so would make me May 1st or 2nd??? I feel very nervous as this is my first time. Been having some AF like cramps but less frequent today and yesterday- is that normal?

ScaryHairy · 23/08/2008 15:42

Hello and congratulations Heverhoney.
Yes, cramps are pretty normal- I remember they were very bad with my first pregnancy and I took a load of Anadin Extra, which I would not have had I realised that those pains were implantation. You should just relax and enjoy your BFP.

Thanks Scary!!!!

and congrats to everyone on this thread!!!

mavornia · 24/08/2008 20:23

hello everyone and congratulations!

I have no business being here yet- haven't even done my pregnancy test yet (though I'll be due 9th May if it's positive)!

But a hunch, a whim and a hope lured me in - hopefully I'll be back next week with good news and just wanted to send a cheery hello in the meantime.

ScaryHairy · 24/08/2008 20:33

Hi Mavornia
Lots of luck with the test and hopefully we'll see you in a few days more officially!

inni · 25/08/2008 09:14

Hey Congratulations to you all. Thanks Scary for calling me in I didn't know about this thread for this I started one. Happy to see many of you in the same boat.
DS 2.9 and DD 1. I tested yesterday and BFP (4 weeks today) due on the 4th of may. This will be our third. I'm been feeling really sick for the past week and this horrible metallic taste that makes me even more sick (I didn't have it in my other two). A bit of brown discharge but not often (sorry tmi). Not sore boobs whatsoever. I don't need more symptoms though.
Good luck to Mavornia.

ScaryHairy · 25/08/2008 10:58

That's a lot of symptoms for so early inni. Today I completely lost patrience with my little daughter. Is being a bit shoutier than normal a symptom?

OP posts:
inni · 25/08/2008 11:59

My stomach's never been really good, but during my pregnancies got worse and felt very sick throughout the whole nine months, although not to the point of being "sick". The worst is the metallic taste that I've never felt before and it's been already 4 days, I hope it goes away soon. Being pregnant with other kids around makes pregnancy harder and I guess our moods will swing often.

ScaryHairy · 25/08/2008 17:37

Inni I've never had that metallic taste (and have always wondered what it is like!), although in my last pregnancy I had a really wierd sort of chemical taste right at the beginning (yuck). It didn't last long and I hope your yucky taste goes away soon.

Have decided to start a list to keep track of everyone.

Due in May 2009

Scaryhairy due on 1 May (DD age 2.2)
JustgotBFP due on 1 May
Sahbear due on 1 May (DS age 14 mo)
Brightsideoflife due on 1 May
Heverhoney due on 2 May
Inni due on 4 May (DS age 2.9 and DD age 1)

JustgotBFP are you going to reveal your secret identity anytime soon? (no pressure!)

I hope you're all enjoying the Bank Holiday, or if you're at work that it is brilliantly quiet and you go home early.

OP posts:
inni · 25/08/2008 17:59

I'm SHM and haven't been working for three years already. I'm 31, Spanish and living in Czech Republic and government gives you some "good money" for being home with the children til they are three so I'm enjoying my children childhood very much.
The metallic taste is really disgusting it's like you have vomit (sorry tmi) and have this horrible taste afterwards at the back of your mouth. You don't miss anything, you don't want to have it.
