Glad you had a good time in Rome Azure.

I had my scan today (am 9+5) and all is well, strong wee heart beat and baby was madly waving arms and legs at us - such a relief to see my wee prawn on the screen and doing well. Had a great holiday, lots of long lies and great to catch up with lots of family and friends. Also managed to get tickets for the Tsunami Appeal concert in Cardiff, it was ace - Jools Holland and Clapton were just magic! It was a somewhat cold eight hours and I was glad we had seated tickets. Now back home and the reality of work etc kicking back in, just very releived to know that things are well. Still being sick and have had to buy new bras, but am fine. Will reach 12wks on the 16/02/05.

Twiga glad to hear you had a nice holiday, and great news about your scan. We had a lovely time in Rome (well, apart from my bad cold and m/s) - it seems like an age ago now, unfortunately.

Welcome champs How old are your other two kids?

I have been exposed to chickenpox and not even a child at work, the deputy head!!! Unfortuantely, I'm not immune to it and last time I was pregnant I had to have a big injection in my bum ....... twice. I'm waiting for the doctor to phone back to arrnage a blood test to see if I've caught it.Bloody typical, just as I start to feel better, this happens. Still I'd do anything to keep my little bub safe and a big injection and feeling rotten for a few days is a small price to pay for a healthy baby. Anybody else been through anything similar?

kate100, poor you but I guess the injection is the best thing. I had a small scare at 6 weeks when ds got a nasty rash and for a horrible moment we really worried it was german measles - fortunately it was a reaction to penicillin.

One week until my scan and I'm looking forward to (fingers crossed) hearing that all is well and we can start telling people. Have had flu all weekend along with ms which is actually all day sickness so have felt rotten. Hopefully on mend now.

Hello guys! Just a very quick message to say hi - move went well but we are not fixed up with internet at home yet (or TV - boo hoo) so I am quickly typing this at the local library! Dd1 and 2 had their first day at their new school today and enjoyed it - phew! Dh starts his new job tomorrow and I start my new life of leisure (HA!) . hi all, checking in,also in local libary as turfed out of home by builders mess. hope all okay? now 13.5 weeks, time going quite slowly but glad to feel bit more human than did couple of weeks ago.got consultant appt re possible c-section this time round for various reasons. anyone else opting for c-section 2nd time/had one last time? If so, any thoughts on pros & cons, appreciate any non-judgmental advice.

Kate100 how unlucky for this to happen a second time. I hope you've escaped this time. Miaou, glad to hear the move went well. MissChief, I am also thinking of a c/s this time. I didn't have one with DS, but only because they managed to yank him out with forceps just in time - I was in the operating theatre and had already had the anaesthetic (local). DH was in his scrubs. Anyway, I had a nasty third degree tear and the doctor at the time said that it was likely I would need a c/s nect time. I'll see what the midwife says when I eventually get to see her next week. I'm also interested in pros/cons. The risk of double incontinence is a bit of a clincher for me, though.

I had really bad gastroenteritus (sp?) right at the start of this pg - spent several days attatched to my bathroom - didn't realise I was pg until afterwards. Part of me was glad not to have known as I would have really paniced - had mc in July, so have been feeeling edgy anyway. From yesterdays scan things are fine, it's amazing how resiliant these wee things are!

Feel a bit pathetic now but was coming on to moan about how exhausted I've been today, have slept most of the afternoon and just have never got going. Had a very early start yesterday and a few broken nights sleep in the run up to my scan as I'm a bit of a worrier.

Glad to hear the move went well, Miaou. Sorry to hear about the chickenpox Kate. Went to the Dr. today. My due date is Aug 31st, due to the size of the baby at the scan. So I am only almost 10 weeks along. But we were able to hear a very strong heartbeat, so that made me thrilled. I'm feeling pretty good now, except for tired, too.

I am so sick it's not funny!! feel so rough have been off work for 3weeks and still off now. am v. pale too. I just feel awful... and why do they call it MS??? it's more like allday everyday sickness. well i'm gonna stop moaning now!!

you all sound sound cheery; i feel rotten to put a dampner on it, but i feel sooo low. really gone back t square one with worry. been getting lots of twinges today and "stringy" discharge. had this before but MW said its okay; but she says that about everythin. Also had yelloe/brown discharge; covinced myself it was more red/brown...but thinking about it now probably not. should i be worried? The stringy discharge (Sorry TMI) is the most bizzare; its about 2-3 inch lon thread like structure (way TMI). I have been plagued by thrush; not sure if this is related?? maybe i should start a discharge thread[SMILE]

Champs, I meant to tell you welcome too. [slapping self on head icon] Chalk it up to the pregnancy forgetfulness. So sorry to hear you are so sick. Hope you feel better soon.

forevermore-- I got stringy discharge with my other pgs too.(TMI!) I think it has something to do with how the cervical plug is made up?? Have never worried about it.

Glad you made it Champs good to "see" you. Hope the m/s improves.

forevermore, I got the stringy discharge with my last 2 pregs and when I checked with the m/w she said it was some of the mucous plug, she saod the bottom of the plug often comes away a bit but regenerates itself so its perfectly normal! with my ds when I was 13 weeks i passed a huge glob of green jelly like stuff that was stringy too(tmi, sorry!!) and m/w said perfectly normal.

Was feeling so sorry for myself, I forgot to say welcome to Champs and now also to Josey, I'm having my second one too.
Have had a horrid afernoon, I had to have a blood test to check for immunity to cp and whether or not I had the virus, so I thought I'll have my early pregnacy bloods done at the same time, 2 birds with 1 stone and all that. unfortunately I don't have very good veins and find it really hard to give any blood at all, I told the lady this and told her there was no point in prodding around with a needle as if she didn't get it the first time, she wouldn't get it at all. So what does she do? Prods around in my arm .... 4 times. I was hysterical she was hurting me so much, in fact the lady in the next room dropped the phone and came running in to see what was wrong. She must have been more senior and took over and managed to get a sample first time. I'm so upset about it all, why didn't the first lady listen to me? I've had it happen lots before so I know what I'm talking about. I'm now balck and blue and can't move my arms. DH is furious and thinks we should complain to the hospital. Is it any wonder I had my 'early' pregnancy bloods done at 20 weeks last time? Horrible lady, they seem to take it as a personal challenge to get me to give up my blood. Oh well, it's done now, so here's to hoping I've developed some immunity to CP and if not, at least the injections in muscle in my a**e and no one's going to be looking for a vein there!!

kate100, have some sympathy with you on the veins. Mine are not good either and I only managed to produce enough blood for 2 samples instead of 3 and I was left with a badly bruised arm. I'm hoping that at 16weeks my veins might decide to break out otherwise I am going to be paranoid about thewhole thing again - I didn't havethis problem with ds - what happened to my veins?

Hi everyone ... i'm glad someone has started this post!!!

i was feeling sorry for myself earlier. I've had flu, a bad cold and caught food poisoning whilst away for the weekend, all in the course of 15 weeks. I was seriously thinking it'll be a bloody miracle if i survive to have this baby. My immune system is seriously low and need something to build it up again - can anyone recommend anything???

Then I read everyone else's post and decided to slap myself. So sorry to hear about the chickenpox Kate.
