New thread would be good, I'll wait and post on that then.

I've got my first midwife appt tomorrow! At 20 weeks! Not quite as bad as it sounds - I had my booking in appt with my gp, then my scan last month, when I had a general check up. I have talked to my m/w on the phone and she is very pleased to be meeting me face to face at last! Then I have my 20 week scan on Thursday.

Do you think we should start a new thread? This one is taking ages to load...

Really glad to hear that scans have gone well. Colinsmommy, my DS has had croup the last few days, luckly a milder version than your poor DS.

glad scans went well. Must tell my work too (20 weeks, dh says obvious bump but still try to kid myself that drak clothes & suit disguise it all!)
embarrassed to tell male boss, tbh - he's lovely but I'm so new in post feels ridiculous that I'll be off so soon! (also stressed out hugely about my eligibility or otherwise to mat pay & leave - but I'll keep that to other thread..)

I'm so glad the scans went OK today. I have finally told work, just now, so I feel a lot more relaxed.
I can't remember who is doing my scan at Tommy's but I thought it was a Mr something and he only does Thursdays and Fridays. I'll let you know.

wilbur - good news on your scan too

Scan went really well ? saw everything clearly and decided NOT to find out the sex. Baby was moving around a lot and I could even see him/her swallowing. Didn?t mind being there on my own at all as it turned out., just relieved everything OK Good luck to those awaiting scans.

Hi all. Just got back from my 20 week scan (Dr Bewley at Tommy's, beachyhead - ask for her she's excellent and really nice) and all is fine, dates seem right, baby is growing well and everything is in place. After high risk nuchal result my risk of Downs' has been put down to 1:260 which I am much happier with. So amazing what they can see - she kept saying things like "lovey bladder" when looking at just a black space! Anyway, I'm happy now.

colinsmommy - my niece had croup a few times and my sister got her a humidifer for her room and it really helped.

Welcome, kiwi - hope you have fun on Mumsnet.

I braved putting on my maternity trousers today as took a bit of a spread over the weekend dont really have a big bump but i couldnt cope much longer coming home with a huge red imprint of my button on my skin, one of my friends at work is just back today after a family berevement and was off for almost a month and she was suprised at my tum so supose ive grown quite a bit. The test will be on Wednesday when DH gets home.

Colinsmommy that sounds terrible. DS is cutting his canines and has been waking up in the night. So I had to get in with him on Saturday as he was so upset, but didn't get any sleep as he has feet like ice.

Kiwibump, welcome and what a great story for your nickname.

Eulalia, hipe everything is ok tomorrow.

I have a bump and am in maternity clothes, although it's more for comfort than necessity. People have started looking as if to say 'is she isn't she' but I feel like I'm growing quickly now. Hope the weather warms up soon, my coat os getting a bit tight.

Oh bugger got to go, DS is eating cat food...

Hi - just popping on quickly to say I've got my scan tomorrow. Have to go on my own though as it is at 11.20am - a really annoying time as dh works 15 miles from the community hospital and besides he is teaching anyway so I said not to worry. 3rd time I am feeling quite relaxed about it all My parents are looking after dd.

Got to go dh is home... catch up on everyone later...

KMS- I knew that nature boy girl were not 100% bio degradeable but from what I've read they are more so than moltex. The great thing about moltex is that they are ethically manufactured. I don't think any disp nappies have a chance when it comes to decomposing in bin bags or normal nappy sacks- even the eco ones. I tried the biodegradable nappy sacs but for on hols but I was not keen at all...

Feeling exhausted here already. thankfully ds is a great baby so he's being extra huggy towards mummy- ufortunatley my belly button has change early this time and might even pop out later on (nearly did last time) and ds thinks that is great. Not so great for me as he thinks it's a button to be pressed!!!

Soooo excited about scan.

Anyone seen any decent maternity dresses?? I was hoping for a long one? Might have to get a blooming marvellous linen one if all else fails...but don't fancy showing off puffy legs in the summer.

Sorry to hear you've had a difficult time of it colinsmummy.

Am definitely looking pg now and well in to maternity clothes. Seem to stay the same shape for a few days, then rapidly expand overnight, often feeling a little stretched and achy with it. Everyone keeps reminding me that I haven't seen anything yet... Am sure i'm feeling the baby move now, which is really good. Had expected it to freak me out a bit, but it hasn't

KMS - I'm not a kiwi at all, probably making this a crap nickname! Baby conceived while on holiday in NZ - quite a souvenier to bring back with us! Have taken to calling the bump "kiwi" rather than "it" as we're not finding out the sex. That probably makes me sound like a mad woman.

Hiya colinsmommy, so sorry to hear that colin hasn't been well. Glad to hear he's on the mend now though.

I've been in maternity jeans for about 5 weeks now! But that's mainly because my tummy feels so tender and all my other trousers made it feel worse. I have got quite a noticeable bump now, but still I would say I don't look pregnant if I am wearing a coat or a sweater.

I'm having my 20 week scan on Thursday - a 2 hour trip each way - has caused a childcare nightmare as we will have to leave before the dds go to school! In the end we asked my mum and dad to come up from England to look after them (they were coming up anyway, they just had to bring it forward). They agreed to help but I know we are NOT going to be allowed to forget it for years to come....

Hi all. Haven't been on much. Its so hard to believe that it is still winter, when it is almost 80 degrees outside.

Spent yesterday in the ER as my 18 mo old developed croup. Poor baby had to get 2 shots and a breathing treatment. He also had a temp. of 104, and an ear infection to go along with it. He really didn't do too badly last night, except for I had him sleep with me and he kept trying to sleep on top of me, so I got almost no sleep. He's much better this am, though.

Hi Kiwibump. Welcome to the thread.

Jellybrain--I'm at the stage where I can see people looking at me and wondering if I've just gained weight or am pregnant, but being afraid to ask. I think I'd rather just pop out more and have it be obvious.

Still in my normal clothes here at 16 weeks and still haven't told work officially - must do soon as by the evening, I look like a ripe peach ......
20 week scan on 10th April, (wilbur when is yours and is it at Tommy's?) which is v.exciting. Then we are into pre-eclampsia land - (got taken in at 28 weeks for No.1 and delivered at 31....so from 20 weeks, I will be urine testing, bp testing and no flying (just to avoid having a prem baby in a foreign land!!!!!)

Ha Ha Ha - the joys of motherhood - my friend just reminded me that with my first, I only just made it into my maternity clothes, so why was I worried this time about having a small bump.....

My dh says it is because I'm fatter this time, so its just hiding in the blubber somewhere (which I don't think was very nice)...

Masses more energy now during the day - flaked out at night - everyone in our house has flu, so I'm just escaping catching that......

Have a good week everyone

how sacry spacecadet! hope DD was ok as well. Hope you are feeling less giddy now.

Hello Kiwibump and welcome, the 20wk scan is exciting and scary at the same time. Great to see baby but the small worry in the back of your mind about everything being ok. I have mine next week as i am due 7th aug. Are you a "kiwi" in the UK or are you still in new zealand? or not a kiwi at all!!!!

Great to have another nappy advisor on here Leahbump! i am also really pleased that so many of this group are looking into it. A sign of the times I feel.
did you know that nature boy/girl still contain chemical gels? moltex are the best in manufacture but still don't decompose in binbags in a landfill. I suppose it depends on peoples reasons for coming to cloth.

Just wanted to say hello. Am new to posting messages but have been following everyone's progress on this thread for a week or two now.
This is my first pregnancy with due date 3rd August. Have 20wk scan on Friday and can't wait, although I am fairly nervous about it too.
