thanks Paula - second trimester is scary!

Off for scan in a bit will just feed the DDs some cereal first and get dressed. Am having a dull ache constantly across my symphilis pubic bone (one at front low down) but it maybe because I ironed for about 3 hours last night!

will nip across and get the list

FrannyandZooey · 31/12/2007 09:15

Hello PY

midwife coming this morning so I am chasing around trying to hide all the junk, and wee in a pot

FrannyandZooey · 31/12/2007 09:16

Hope things go well for everyone having a scan today

sweetkitty · 31/12/2007 11:37

Baby is fine wriggling about with a good heartbeat

am so so relieved x 100 measuring 13 weeks exactly so a few days older than LMP but they won't change my dates

pigley - best wishes for today, once the oh everything is OK is out the way you will be so happy and spend the next 10 minutes gazing at your baby on the screen

franny - good luck with the MW, surprised they are coming out to you already, mine only did that towards the end as I was having a homebirth

FrostyMin - that sounds exactly like me to a 'T' too - I also work just 3 mornings a week. I've been feeling very flat and feel as if I'm clock watching all day and being of no use whatsoever to DD because I don't feel as if I engage with her enough and that her days are dull. It's a viscious cycle isn't it?? I have just remembered that I felt like this when I was pregnant with her too. Just the first trimester I think but I went off to see a homepath and it was either that that really helped, or it would have changed anyway. I didn't have the guilt thing the first time round though as DD hadn't been born yet obviously .
I feel too flat and tired to be bothered with making new friends but that's what I really need to do -I do meet people but I don't feel as if I click with any of them. I have 3 others in my 'circle' as it were and see 2 very regularly and luckily one is giving up work again, so she'll be around more.

Twinkle - thanks for the Homestart info - I've had a look and think I might get in touch with them too. I'm worried that I will feel 'jollied along' - will I be??

ThreeFrenchHensEEC · 31/12/2007 11:58

Sweetkitty. Absolutely FAB News. I'm soo thrilled. Go and enjoy new year!

Welcome Beepbeep. Congrats. Combined results sound great, but I'm sure you can get a breakdown.

Min12 - I'm so impressed that you noticed that you were feeling low
and that you have been proactive about doing something about it. I'm sure that is the most important step and that things will start to get better. Hormones don't help at all, and juggling work LO's really hard. I went through all that guilt stuff and depression about 2 years ago (was also working 3 days a week) - I even started bursting into tears in meetings etc . I was just torn in all directions. I do hope you can organise some time for yourself.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone.

pigleychez · 31/12/2007 12:11

Im really pleased for you Kitty! so glad everything is ok and babys healthy.
Great way to start the new year

Very excited about the scan but also bricking it!!!

alicet · 31/12/2007 13:56

Hello ladies and congratulations!!!

I have had ds2 on October (now on Oct postnatal thread if you need to catch me) and I have a few maternity bras if anyone wants them? They are from M&S in black and white cotton sizes 34D and 36D. Think I have about 6 in total but I will have as good rummage and send whatever I can find. The black ones are as good as new - the white ones are very slightly discoloured as bras get when worn and washed but certainly wearable.

If anyone could use them just CAT me your address and I will happily post them on to you - I don't want anything for them. If no-one is interested I can offer them on my local freecycle but though I would ask here first.

Minkus · 31/12/2007 15:59

Put that in your pipe,
No you shouldnt feel jollied or pressured,it should be about your needs. If that is sitting and having a coffee and a chat thats fine,if its going to bed for a sleep while supporter plays with the little one thats ok too.I have done everything from going swimming,to drs app, mums and tots, coffee and walks to the park. Its all about what you need some of the people i have supported are now friends so you really build a good trusting relationship.Hope that helps.

Baby was laying with one hand behing its head- thinking its at the beach!

Im soo relieved now ive finally seen baby! im a very happy bunny now!

isaidno · 31/12/2007 17:00

fab news Kitty amd Pigleychez!
What a great start to the new year.

Good Luck in Augusta ComeALLY xx

FrannyandZooey · 31/12/2007 17:18

lots of lovely news here

yes locally the midwives come out to visit you and if you want a home birth the vast majority of your antenatal care can take place at home. Luckily the midwife's clinic is very near to me so I would prefer to go in and have an actual appointment, rather than waiting at home.

She also said there is currently no reason why I shouldn't be able to give birth at one of the local midwife led birthing centres, which I think is what I would ideally like atm

I asked her about the infrequency of antenatal appointments and she said they are following the NICE guidelines. I can go along to the clinic any week that I want to, but they don't require to see me very often at all - not between week 16 and 28, for instance!

frostythesnowMin912 · 31/12/2007 17:30

Yey for Kitty, great news, and also for Pigley! All this good news is making me feel better actually and also making me look forward to my scan (only) a week away. Last time I had one around 10 weeks so this seems ages to wait...

Happy New Year to one and all (and despite my cynicism about the enforced fun of the evening, I do mean that!). Here's to a new year with lots of happy healthy babies!

pigleychez · 31/12/2007 17:45

Just uploaded a couple of scan pics onto my profile page if anyones interested

isaidno · 31/12/2007 18:26

nice pic PC

whomovedmychocolate · 31/12/2007 21:10

New person here - due 30th July so still firmly in first trimester unless they've moved the lengths again!

Due date complete guess as still bfing DD (14 months) and have no periods -ah bliss - am looking forward to another two years period free. Hoping to spin it out to the menopause

Had second scan today (had a bleed early on - 5 weeks) baby is fine apparently, didn't really see as was vomiting in wastepaper basket - hideous nausea. Peaking 4-6am!

KerryMea · 01/01/2008 01:33

Hi all - Happy Happy New Year! Hope you all had a good one! I was designated driver for my friend I'm visiting here in NZ last night - drove around loads and felt very grumpy, especially as his boyfriend got absolutley blotto and refused to get in the car when we were leaving! Arrrgh... aren't drunk people annoying when you're sober?

To top it off I've just called my dbf at the UK midnight to be treated to some over-the-mouthpiece dribbling and slurring! I'm struggling with having given up smoking at the moment and used to like a drink too so life seems hard!

To those who asked - I'm travelling around the North Island - came here on 17th Dec and am staying til 23rd January. I have been staying in Auckland and spaent Christmas in Northland. My original plan was to travel the South Island for the next two weeks but it all seems a bit exhausting now, so I'm staying up here on the North Island. Off to the beach in the Coramandel for six days, then Rotarua, then another frind's sheep farm near Napier... any tips Pigleychez?

Anyway, all seems to be going well, sick as a pig, knackered all the time, I presume this is good?!!

Good luck to all with scans this week

ScottishSusan · 01/01/2008 07:45

Happy New Year Everyone!!

We are having babies THIS year!!! Yipee!!

Congrats to Kitty and Pigley - excellent news!

I have noticed that I am not on the list yet....is this because I'm supposed to do something to put myself on? Sorry don't know the etiquette of the threads yet... please advice. Due date 18th July.

Went to bed last night well before NY but was awakened by villagers making their way to the square. Then lay awake and heard the Church bells and the fireworks. The DH and oler ds's came in and said "happy new year"...that was nice! Was asleep again before 12.30.

Have a good day everyone!!!
