I love following the big May 2020 threads but there's so many people on there!

I'd love to keep up with a smaller group? Anyone keen to share the below credentials and general feelings/observations/hopes/fears; and support one another over the next 7 months?

EDD: 6 May 2020
Age: 33
Baby #: #1
Location: London
Appointments (if any) so far: Booking-in with GP, scan at EPU same day when I was 6w+6d as I had bleeding early on, first midwife appointment happening 11 October.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

Congratulations !! Flowers
I’m due on the 9th of May Grin with baby number 1 !

tacosplease · 27/09/2019 19:32

Yes! I'm due on 1st May (a May Day baby!) with baby number one. I'm mid-30s and based in London. So far I've had a booking-in appointment with the midwife, an eight week scan and an 8+4 scan to check on some bleeding I was having. Next up is the Harmony test the week after next!

Congratulations to you both on your pregnancies! Flowers How are you doing so far? I've been feeling nauseous and tired for the first nine weeks, which has been quite draining, especially when working. I'm hoping it'll ease off when I get to the second trimester...

Dominos21 · 27/09/2019 20:29

Congratulations ! Flowers Nice to have others to have on this amazing journey. I’ve had morning sickness and been very tired for the past few weeks. Found myself napping in the day Shock . Due to have my early scan tomorrow, so nervous but excited. Hoping baby is ok Halo !

TurquoiseKiss · 27/09/2019 20:40

Congrats Dominos21 and tacosplease!

Good luck for your scan tomorrow Dominos21, the lead up to it is nerve wracking I imagine. I know I'll be a nervous wreck at the 12-week scan, so much so I'm debating whether to get a private one done around 10 weeks just to be sure.

Are you going private for the harmony test tacosplease?

My symptoms so far have been totally bearable, so much so I'm waiting for the tide to turn! Just the odd bout of nausea (always in the morning) but times I've had it its disappeared within 2 hours. Oh and I'm a lot gassier than normal, as in I wake up in the night just to burp!

I went for my private early scan today and it’s the best decision I ever made! Baby is healthy and has a very strong heartbeat . I would recommend getting a private one if you can Smile

tacosplease · 01/10/2019 06:57

Congratulations @Dominos21! It’s such an amazing moment isn’t it?

@TurquoiseKiss yes I’m having the Harmony done privately - having it on the NHS isn’t an option where I am I don’t think.

Is anyone else having bad insomnia? I wake up every night at about 3-4am to go to the loo and struggle to get back to sleep!

Dominos21 · 01/10/2019 08:54

@TurquoiseKiss I’m having the exact same, wake up all through the night for the loo, and struggle to sleep. Find myself napping in the day Shock

Englishgirl9 · 01/10/2019 12:52

Hey I'm 28, FTM and due the 8th May 2020. Mild nausea and nothing much else in the way of symptoms. I'm getting a private scan tomorrow at 8w+5 because my first midwife appointment isn't until mid October.

Thanks for making this thread btw. I joined one of the FB groups which came from another May bumps thread, but it's got so many members now & it's turning into a dramatic agony aunt group. I just wanted a little group to chat about symptoms and progress.

Sunshine8888 · 01/10/2019 17:56

Hello, please can I join? I’m 31 expecting baby no 1 on 3rd May. I had scans at 6 weeks and 9 weeks privately due to bleeding and saw heartbeat both times 😊 for some reason my dating scan is on 10th October when I’ll only be 10+4! I think it’s because from LMP that will be 12 weeks but I had long cycles after coming off the pill.

I feel rubbish in the evenings but the nausea is manageable as long I eat frequently!

tacosplease · 01/10/2019 18:36

Congrats Englishgirl9 and Sunshine8888! Flowers

TurquoiseKiss · 02/10/2019 02:45

Congrats everybody and welcome new joiners!

Englishgirl9 hope your scan goes well, let us know!

Sunshine8888 are you in the UK? If your dating scan ends up being a little behind i've read they re-book you in for another around the 12 week mark, so you could end up having 2 scans - which would be great!

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and last night increased stomach acid was really bad, I almost got up and made toast at 4pm just so there was something in there to soak up the acid! I managed to go back asleep thankfully. I've realised another trigger for me is sitting in slow moving traffic on car journeys, we have a car but only really do short journeys but recently drove to see DH's family 5+ hours drive away, and I had a long cab ride to the airport another day, both made me feel dreadful the whole time I was in the car creeping along 🤢

What symptoms are people finding most tricky to deal with? For me its that if I do get nausea, it'll always be after waking in the morning - so its hard to know what my morning will be like! Pre-pregnancy my alarm went off the same time each day and I was on the tube to work pretty much the same time each day. Now some days I set my alarm for earlier so if I do feel awful I have longer to get ready slowly, but at the same time I ideally want to get as much sleep as possible! I work from home usually 1 or 2 days out of 5 so that helps a great deal.

@TurquoiseKiss yes I’m in the uk! South west England ! So hopefully I will get an extra scan unless baby has done some miracle growing in the next week 😂😂

Thankfully I am doing ok in the mornings which is so helpful as I start work early. As long as I keep eating all morning I can manage the nausea. By the time I get home from work early evening though I feel rubbish, I have to go and lie down for a good hour or two before I can face making dinner. And it’s a downward spiral from there. The tiredness makes me feel sick more than food does! I am just so keen to fall asleep so I can wake up feeling ok ish! But I am so grateful that I’m not being sick! To be honest I’ve forgotten what it feels like to not be pregnant now 😂

@Englishgirl9 hope scan goes well 😊

tacosplease · 02/10/2019 16:38

I've noticed a few spots recently on my face and also have one on my leg (WTF?!) I rarely had spots before getting pregnant but apparently it's quite common. I'm feeling ok today - other than the usual slight nausea and tiredness! How's everyone else doing?

I'm so relieved we have this forum to discuss everything - it makes the whole experience a million times easier!

Lifesforlivingandloving · 02/10/2019 17:24

Hello all please may I join you
Im 32, this is my first baby and according to LMP I'm due on 1st May but when I had an early scan at 6 weeks they pushed my dates back snd said due 10th May . I guess I'll get a proper due date at the 12 week scan which I have on the 21st October which I'm super excited but a little nervous for x

In terms of symptoms I felt sick and had heartburn from the week before I even missed my period! Since then I've had nausea most days but I've not actually been sick yet! On the days I'm less nauseous I eat as much as possible coz most of the time I just can't bare the thought of eating ! Nothing much appeals
Ribena is my best friend right now!

Looking forward to sharing this lovely journey with you all 💕 x

Lifesforlivingandloving · 04/10/2019 13:30

How is everyone doing? X

Sunshine8888 · 04/10/2019 13:36

Hi @Lifesforlivingandloving I’m really good thanks! Not suffered from sickness at all so far (9+5 today) which I’m so grateful for. As long as eat like every hour it’s manageable! Saw a heartbeat last Saturday so feeling a bit less anxious and have high hopes baby can make it past the 12 week mark now 🤞🏻 Daring to dream about getting there and being able to tell people 🤞🏻 Also haven’t had any bleeding since the last scan so that’s helped with anxiety a lot. I was also pushed back at my scan by 10 days so from LMP I’m 11+1 but by recent scan 9+5 so in a similar position to you! Roll on the next couple of weeks! X

Lifesforlivingandloving · 04/10/2019 14:06

@Sunshine8888
Your very fortunate not to have any sickness.
I've found the more I eat the less sick I feel the last few days so trying that method lol

Awww lovely x you must of felt so happy to see a limitless baby and heartbeat 💗 x
It's such an exciting time isn't it! X

Caspianberg · 04/10/2019 14:18

Hi, would love to join

Due date: 2nd May 2020
Had first scan at 6+5. All good so far
Next scan due 9th October ( at 11+5)
Had major nausea week 4-8 ish, has settled done to just occasional the last few weeks.

Caspianberg · 04/10/2019 14:19

Sorry, next scan 9th October will be 10+5

Sunshine8888 · 04/10/2019 15:42

Hi @Caspianberg I think we are similar on dates 😊 I have my next scan next Thursday - 🤞🏻 all is looking good for us both x

@Lifesforlivingandloving I was feeling sick before I got my bfp. I quickly learnt that as long as I ate like every hour I felt a lot better! So my food intake has increased so much but it’s really helped me all the way through. If I get too hungry I start feeling awful!

Mummylanie3 · 04/10/2019 16:09

I'm due 3rd may had my booking in appointment today and a scan last week
