I love following the big May 2020 threads but there's so many people on there!

I'd love to keep up with a smaller group? Anyone keen to share the below credentials and general feelings/observations/hopes/fears; and support one another over the next 7 months?

EDD: 6 May 2020
Age: 33
Baby #: #1
Location: London
Appointments (if any) so far: Booking-in with GP, scan at EPU same day when I was 6w+6d as I had bleeding early on, first midwife appointment happening 11 October.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend.

@tacosplease Wonderful news. Congrats on baby girl.

Sunshine8888 · 23/10/2019 14:16

Congrats @tacosplease! ☺️ Did they confirm your due date? We must be similar! My little girl was measuring 6.7cm x

Sunshine8888 · 23/10/2019 14:16

I didn’t get given any nuchal measurements. I was just told all looked fine 🤷🏽‍♀️

BlancoNita · 23/10/2019 18:37

Hi Ladies, late to the party, due 3rd of may baby no 3

Caspianberg · 24/10/2019 08:46

Hi, just checking in to see how everyone is.

Had blood test results back and am apparently not resistant to Rubella. So will have to have another MMR after baby is born. For now need to just avoid anyone with rubella, but it isn't very common nowadays so hopefully ok. Doctor also said its worse if Rubella is caught in first 12 weeks, and im now 13 weeks, so hopefully worst time to catch has past.

Also have high red and white blood count, so he thinks a small infection so have been given antibiotics.

Justthinkofone · 24/10/2019 15:49

Had scan showing 13 week baby doing ok so far. Had screening bloods (this was what identified my DS high risk last time.) Was v nervous and talked to midwife taking bloods. They were really wonderful and will call me mon/tues with my screening results whatever they are (so I'm not worrying unnecessarily) they Said I can call the screening midwife if I have any queries.
They did say age wise I'm still in higher risk. I think we'll give it a couple of weeks and do harmony week after half term. I just feel I have to do it one step at a time if you know what I mean. I could have the harmony done now and eliminate that worry but for some reason I'm plodding on, I have to take each day at a time, still worried about miscarriage.

Justthinkofone · 24/10/2019 16:17

Meant to say, measuring 69mm and dd 30/04/20. Nausea and tiredness thankfully dissipating now!

mintbear · 25/10/2019 09:22

Just had my results back in the post (I had the scan on Monday)
1 in 99445 for Edwards
1 in 12005 for downs
My nt measurement was 1.3

I'm 13+1 today and feeling as rough as ever with morning sickness, I've also had a cold so let's say it's been a challenging week! I'm looking forward to the 'honeymoon' trimester and fingers crossed it gets easier.

Thankful to read everyone else's posts, see other scan pics and hear about what everyone is going through, it is a comfort.

tieganhardingg · 25/10/2019 09:48

Hello can I join , I'm 21 years old with baby number 1 I had a early 6 weeks scan and I was 7weeks and my due date was 2nd of may. got my 12weeks scan on the 6th of November I will be around 13 weeks and I think my due date will change a little more but as for any symptoms I have none absolutely none I got nausea and was sick at work only once but apart from that nothing and tbh I hate it lol because I don't feel pregnant at all but I definitely know I have a baby inside me because i saw him/her there when I had an early scan please anyone let me know if they are the sameee!!!

Mummylanie3 · 25/10/2019 09:53

I'm booked in next week for CVS my by measurement was 4.1 which isn't good so my bloods come back high risk 1:25 for downs and 1:80 for Edwards anyone had CVS before?

tacosplease · 25/10/2019 10:06

@Sunshine8888 the baby was measuring 6.2cm at 12+4 and my due date is still 1st May, so one day after you! Smile

It feels like such a milestone to reach the second trimester doesn’t it? I’m still feeling a bit nauseous but am really hoping it’ll disappear soon.

@tieganhardingg I think it’s fairly common to have very few or even no symptoms - and the fact that you’ve seen the baby at an early scan is massively reassuring.

@Mummylanie3 I haven’t had a CVS before, but there are quite few threads on Mumsnet from people who have I believe. Hope it goes well for you - how long do you have to wait for the results?

Mummylanie3 · 25/10/2019 10:13

@tacosplease I've watched videos on YouTube 🙈 you get a result for t18/21/13 in 48 hours then the full result in 2 weeks midwife quite optimistic as nasel bone is present but my bloods show parvovirus which can make my large but the only way to rule out chromosome issues is the CVS or amnio so I opted for CVS as it can be done before 15 weeks

Pastnowfuture · 25/10/2019 10:55

@mummylanie3 My close friend had CVS last year. She found waiting for the procedure/results extremely anxiety provoking but the procedure itself was not challenging. She said everyone was calm and reassuring throughout (after all they do it everyday). Her husband was there for support too.

Sunshine8888 · 25/10/2019 14:32

@Mummylanie3 I hope cvs goes ok and results come back good. I know the nhs tests do often come back false positive - did you consider having the non invasive tests like harmony before cvs? You do have to pay but some ladies choose to do that first as it can rule out the need for the invasive procedures.

@tieganhardingg I would just enjoy it! I was pretty much fine until about 10 weeks but since then it’s been horrible!! I’m just about in the second trimester now so hoping to stop feeling so sick and tired soon 🤞🏻 Bump is definitely growing now as well!!

Sunshine8888 · 25/10/2019 14:34

@mintbear I also have a cold and it’s making me feel so unwell! So totally understand! I went to put olbas oil on my pillow last night to try and help me breathe through the blocked nose and then read it’s not recommended when pregnant! 🤷🏽‍♀️

mintbear · 25/10/2019 14:37

@Sunshine8888
I had the same panic over having strepsils! Google was confusing so I went to the pharmacy in the end and they said they're safe to take. Thanks for the ends up on the olbas oil.

Are we still due date buddies or has your changed after your scan?

Sunshine8888 · 25/10/2019 14:53

@mintbear I’m totally confused as to my due date now!! My scan on Tuesday said 13 weeks due 28 April but when I asked what my due date is the midwife said 2 May! Doesn’t make any sense to me! I suppose it’s only 4 days so doesn’t really matter but it was a bit odd! The nhs staff were so rushed I didn’t have chance to ask them to clarify or talk about the nuchal measurements - I’m just assuming they would have said if they weren’t ok!

Mummylanie3 · 25/10/2019 15:12

@sunshine888 yes my midwife explained nipt text to me using just a blood sample but it's still not a yes or no answer and dosent test for everything unfortunately

tacosplease · 25/10/2019 16:06

@Sunshine8888 do the NHS give you a report after the 12 week scan? When I had my private one done they printed out a document with lots of information on it, including nuchal measurement, due date etc. I'm glad they did as there's no way I'd have been able to take it all in at the appointment! My next scan will be in early December on the NHS - I'll be just over 19 weeks.

Sunshine8888 · 25/10/2019 16:21

@tacosplease no I didn’t get anything like that unfortunately. I wish I could afford to go private throughout, my experiences have been so so much better

tacosplease · 25/10/2019 16:23

no I didn’t get anything like that unfortunately. I wish I could afford to go private throughout, my experiences have been so so much better

God me too - I'd love to have a private 20 week scan but don't think our budget can stretch to it sadly!

Sunshine8888 · 26/10/2019 12:40

@Mummylanie3 oh ok, I was told I can disregard my nhs results having had the harmony test x

Caspianberg · 26/10/2019 13:28

I received a full report here (not uk), with scan at 10+6. That was basically my 12 week scan as moved it forward due to travelling. The report was info on x2 pages but basically same info that was on scan pictures but easier to read. Then 2 page blood analysis thing.

Next scan 5th December here. At 19 ish weeks

ChickenNugget86 · 30/10/2019 00:16

Hi everyone hope your all well. I've had a shitty few weeks. If I'm not throwing up I'm sleeping. Finding work really tough. Glad I'm off this week.
The injections I was taking to thin the blood were not working so on a higher dose which makes me feel so sick. Find out next week if they are working. Just feel like I'm always at the hospital at the moment.
I went for my 12 week scan today thinking I'd feel better but I had 3 people in the room observing me which made me anxious. My tummy is badly bruised from the injections and despite drinking loads of water they couldn't get an image so needed another internal scan. I know it's not the end of the world but I couldn't see the screen very well and it was a rush. They couldn't do the screening as the baby was in an awkward place. There were so many woman waiting for their appointments and mine had delayed everyone else. Don't mind students at all but always seem to have them observing me.
I felt really down afterwards for some reason it wasn't how I thought it would be. The image I have isn't like others I've seen.
My due date is May 3rd.
Seems a long time till the next scan. I am considering having a private one soon so I can enjoy the experience.
I presume as I'm overweight that's why I need to have internal ones unfortunately.
Sorry for the moan but I'm very hormonal and not looking forward to telling family

Pastnowfuture · 30/10/2019 10:36

@ChickenNugget86 I really feel for you Flowers. I know our experiences are different but I understand what it feel like not to have the pregnancy you envisaged.

Today is my 12 week NHS scan but I've had a couple already and because I was dehydrated they had to be internal and I know what you mean when you say they don't look the same.

I would recommend a private scan if you can afford it as you deserve a relaxing opportunity to enjoy the experience.
