@Angelmiracle hope your first day back in goes ok tomorrow, thanks for the new thread.

@ballanj hi due date buddy! I'm sure our little ones will be kicking up a storm again soon. My placenta is at the back and high apparently. Thought that would mean I'd feel stuff harder but have felt some definite movements since I posted. Typical but reassuring! Love your Hulk nickname!

@AssumeItWasSomethingClever sounds like you're having a wonderful honeymoon! I haven't weighed myself in a few weeks. I lost 10lbs with morning sickness and last time I weighed myself I'd put most of it back on. Might pop on the scales in the morning!

Thanks for the lists and tips on what to buy! We've bought most of the big stuff now except for the cot as we got a good deal after the Mothercare baby event but hadn't thought of half the stuff on the lists, will save them for later use!

Does anyone have any good natural cleaning tips? I'm using Dettol etc as normal but noticed that the oven needs a good clean and I've read that I shouldn't use an oven cleaner. Is there anything natural that can be used that will do the trick?

I also dropped an ear bud in the bathroom sink and when i pulled it up from near the plughole there was this horrid black gunk on it. Making me feel queasy thinking about it. I haven't cleaned the drain while I've been pregnant and it's completely grossed me out. I've heard white vinegar and baking soda (Or bicarbonate, not sure what the difference is actually) should clear it then pour boiling water down. Are these safe products?

After the bath sealer incident and having to spend the night at a hotel im keen to avoid anything dangerous but nesting instinct is getting stronger Grin

Jadeelx · 04/11/2018 19:59

Checking in. It’s been forever, but I’ve been following everyone’s posts.
I’m 20 weeks just now and have my scan tomorrow, hope everything’s all good! My placenta was covering cervix & anterior a few weeks back so I’m hoping it’s moved up a little at least, although not been feeling much movement.
Hope everyone is well!
Those lists are impressive, don’t forget high energy snacks & straws for yourself in labour, these were very handy with DS

@melissa112 I use white vinegar or ordinary ecover washing up liquid for basically everything! We have a septic tank so can't use harsh cleaning products. Leave the vinegar soaking overnight if you can for more stubborn stuff. I have a slightly blocked drain in the second bathroom that I need to sort. Have looked it up and apparently a cup of washing soda crystals, a cup of salt, a cup of vinegar followed by a kettle of boiling water will fizz like crazy and do the trick. I have no idea what washing soda crystals are though?! (Is this the kind of thing I should know as a grown up?!)

BadBadBeans · 04/11/2018 20:04

@melissa112 here is a link for natural oven cleaning! I've not tried this but it sounds good.

melissa112 · 04/11/2018 20:21

@Jadeelx good luck for your scan tomorrow!

@BadBadBeans haha as I was reading through your post I wondered what washing soda crystals were! I have no idea why I assumed white vinegar wouldn't be safe. Anxiety Brian talking! Thanks for the link, I'll take a look now and pass onto OH 🤣

melissa112 · 04/11/2018 20:22

Anxiety brain not Brian...!

Wineandchoccy · 04/11/2018 20:28

Washing soda crystals are usually in a green bag with white & red writing on you find them with the washing powder.
They are great for soaking white poo/weaning stained clothes

Showing my age ...........😂

Hi @melissa112 aw thanks so much. He certainly feels like my little Hulk, I've popped out massively it feels like the last 3 weeks! I've been rather busy the last couple of days, if I feel any movement it tends to be at night in bed. Usually as I'm trying to get to sleep. Hope you're pregnancy is going well xx

melissa112 · 04/11/2018 20:52

@Wineandchoccy thanks haha! Would these be considered safe then to use to unblock a drain with vinegar? As in safe for baby? Never heard of them so not sure what they are really and getting overly paranoid about chemicals at the moment for some reason!

melissa112 · 04/11/2018 20:55

@ballanj also popped out over the last couple of weeks too. Had 3days off work and when i came back in a few people who already knew I was pregnant were shocked at how big I was. I love having a bigger bump now so I don't mind.

I also tend to feel movement more as I'm settling down in bed. I wake up a lot still in the night and not sure whether it's baby kicking, OH snoring, dog dreaming and making noise or bladder full that's waking me but all 4 seem to be happening each time 🤣

Hope all going well for you too! X

Wineandchoccy · 04/11/2018 20:56

I’m sure they are safe, I know you can use them around pets which normally means they are very safe

melissa112 · 04/11/2018 21:07

@Wineandchoccy thanks Smile

melissa112 · 04/11/2018 21:16

Sorry to hark on about cleaning, but where do you get your white vinegar from? Had a quick look on the supermarket websites and can't see it. Tesco have distilled vinegar but not sure if that's the same!

melissa112 · 04/11/2018 21:19
