We're pretty early but thought I'd start a thread to see if anyone else is here already.

I'm 4+1, apparently due around 2 May. Would be great to have some company :). Already obsessing over every little thing. The next 8 weeks are going to drag!

Hello, was hoping this one would pop up soon. I'm due end of April but feels more like start of May. 5w tomorrow.
Have you had many symptoms yet? I'm trying to make the most of not feeling shit yet (this is #2) although not quite sure what to do as I'm already a bit tireder than usual!

katiegd · 24/08/2017 07:25

Hi! Welcome JuniUmiZoomi :)

I'm generally feeling pretty normal so far although have slightly sore boobs which seem to get more noticeable in the evenings. Did you have symptoms with your first?

This is #1 for me so all very new!

scaredofthecity · 24/08/2017 07:45

hey
I'm 4 weeks tomorrow (i think) but had a bfp super early on Sunday after feeling funny at Goape! That means I'm due on the 5th May.

This is my 2nd, I have a DS who's 2.5. I really struggled with pregnancy last time so I'm hoping this time will be better.

I'm feeling a bit acidy and nauseous but not too bad yet, also very crampy, and a bit tired. From what I remember this is the same as last time, i think my MS started at 5 weeks and stayed till 18 weeks. I'm really hoping it's not the same this time!

I'm really excited but trying to stay level headed as it's really early days.

katiegd · 24/08/2017 08:02

Hi scaredofthecity!

Yeah, so hard to remain level-headed. I'm currently swinging between excitement about having a baby and total paranoia about miscarriage.

I've had a v faint positive test this morning so might be joining you! Don't want to tempt fate by getting ahead of myself just yet though

JuniUmiZoomi · 24/08/2017 11:02

hi! Congrats to everyone!
My first the symptoms didn't kick in until 7 weeks and I remember week 9 was the absolute worse. I was never sick but felt hideously hungover everyday. So I am trying really hard to keep moving now, eat properly as last time I could only eat microwave mac & cheese for 5 weeks.
I am actually still breastfeeding my first (who is nearly 3 Shock Wink ) so boobs are a bit tingly on & off but fine so far.

katiegd · 24/08/2017 12:49

Congratulations 1981trouble! Fingers crossed you'll be back. Are you going to test again?

Juni - I've heard it described as being like a hangover before - tired and sick. I'm already planning ahead as we're moving house and it'll fall right in week 9 (yay).

OP posts:
scaredofthecity · 24/08/2017 17:23

yeh that's definately how I'd describe it. Like being hungover... for weeks.
So much fun Smile

But not everyone gets it so you never know...

Californiadreaming15 · 24/08/2017 18:47

Hey everyone, 7th for me! This is my first time so I'm currently going through the paranoia.

katiegd · 24/08/2017 19:58

Hi Californiadreaming15! Congratulations :).

I am so going through the paranoia. Not entirely sure how I am going to get through the next 8 weeks until scan time.

Californiadreaming15 · 24/08/2017 20:13

I know, I feel like I don't want to exercise and all I want to do is wrap myself in cotton wool. So excited though so it makes up for it.

Congratulations everyone, what an exciting time.

katiegd · 25/08/2017 10:56

I'm off to a festival this weekend with DP and friends, so it'll be my first explaining-why-I'm-not-drinking challenge.

I would normally have a pint in my hand most of the way through the festival so am thinking of just saying I've been drinking too much recently (true!) and am having an enforced month off. Anyone else had this yet?

OP posts:
scaredofthecity · 25/08/2017 11:08

enforced month in August?! not sure they'll believe that!
If you take metranizadole you are literally not allowed to drink. They give it for dental infections.
It's surprising how little people notice, if you have a cup in your hand I bet they won't notice your not actually drinking. If you keep swapping your pint with DPs then none gets wasted.

Hi, congrats & welcome new BFPs!

Just been for a huge walk round a National Trust place and now I am exhausted. Definitely not standard! Feeling more like some cotton wool wrapping now.

I don't drink (or go out Grin) so the drinking thing isn't a problem. But what a lot of people do is get a shandy or spritzer and try to nurse the same thing all night. Or take it to the toilet & pour it away so people can buy you one, then tip that away. Or subtley swap drinks with DH. I think as soon as you say 'i'm not drinking' people start nudging each other. Then you can say you don't want to go overboard & have a soft drink every other one that you can drink!

I've missed a call from my mum but need to wake up a bit first or she'll worry. UGH!

katiegd · 25/08/2017 20:18

Thanks for the tips :). You're right that it's better to just not mention it and just quietly swap with DP! Seems to be working so far. Also, shandy - good idea!

Have a good weekend all. I think being away and distracted is doing me good.

Hello!

I was directed here from a thread I started in pregnancy. I'm due 3rd May although I will very likely have a section in April. Shame, as I think May is a really lovely month to be born.

I'm doing the whole 'i'm on a health kick and not drinking for a month' thing but annoyingly people are taking more of an interest in it than I thought they would. We have a weekend away with DHs family and a family wedding to get through. And I'm already so bloated I'll never fit in the dress I've got for it Blush

I have a toddler already so I have found I have less of the paranoia this time round. Possibly because I'm very distracted and have a lot less time to mull everything over!

Hi everyone 😃 I'm 4wks and 3 days and feeling on top of the world with excitement, I just hope it all goes to plan (I'm sure most of us worry about this)
Lovely to be in the same boat as everyone who's babies are all for around the same time! So exciting and so glad i found this site!

MrsH2017 · 25/08/2017 22:49

Typo! babies are all due around the same time

MrsOB27 · 26/08/2017 07:02

Hi everyone Smile so happy I found this group!
I am 4 weeks and 3 days and due date seems to be around 2nd May so all the due date calculators keep telling me! This is our first and we are very excited if not still in a bit of shock as it's happened first month of trying! Was always a bit worried after being on pill for 10+ years.
Feeling completely paranoid at the min like you have all been saying! My first sign was very sore boobs and starting to get the odd bit of nausea now!
Im also starting to wonder how to get away with not drinking, wedding coming up and I've usually always got a big glass of wine in my hand Haha!
Congratulations to all!!! Smile

Catndogmummy · 26/08/2017 07:30

Hi Everyone,

Got a BFP yesterday! Calculators say I'll be due 30th April... so I read May from that! Lol
This is my first so a bit overwhelmed even though we were trying. I'm hosting a family party this afternoon so trying to figure out how to explain why I'm not drinking without giving the game away (as I would also usually have a glass of wine in hand)!

Congratulations to everyone else!x

JuniUmiZoomi · 26/08/2017 08:42

Hi all!
A few more end of April, me too! I am feeling seriously tired today, in spite of a good night's sleep.

Was wondering when to book in with the midwife also...should probably give them a call and find out!

Spritzer catndogmummy and chuck it in a pot plant at every opportunity?!

Catndogmummy · 26/08/2017 08:52

That's a great idea! I'll have to put myself on drinks top up duties so I can control what I'm having!!

Not sure when to book a midwife... I was hoping the doctor could put me in the right direction when I go next week!x

Fillybee · 26/08/2017 08:54

Hi everyone

I got my bfp on Tuesday, due date 30th April but I feel better in the May group! First child was 10 days overdue. I have a DS who is 20 months. This is our third pregnancy this year, first one was a natural msc at 8 weeks in Feb, second one was discovered at a routine scan in May (8 weeks too). So I'm hoping this one is third time lucky!!! I have a scan booked in 2 weeks so I'm just looking forward to that at the moment! xx
