Ahhh, thread 2 already! Loving it!

Can I ask if anyone is taking anything apart from folic acid? I've heard of pregnacare vitamins, is that recommended?

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 27/10/2011 23:27

I tried pregnacare when pregnant with ds but couldn't stomach a large tablet, I've stuck with folic acid for dd and pud so far. As far as I'm aware irc, my mw said they're not necessary unless your diets terrible, if this nausea doesn't wear off ill consider them again.

I hate having the bathroom downstairs. Silly house. Angry

Xandrass · 28/10/2011 06:04

Hello, wondered if I could nervously step into the group?

Was going to post in thread yesterday, but never got round to it and now there's a new thread!
Got BFP yesterday morning (took two tests, still have another but trying not to take it, even though I still can't believe it!)
My dates have me as due 29th June, and it will be my first. I am a mixture of trying not to worry, but trying not to get too excited. If that makes any sense. I just woke up and it's only 6am

Eek. When will it sink in? I am going to drs later.

misslaughalot · 28/10/2011 06:47

Welcome xandrass, I'm 5 days ahead of you but in exactly the same position! Found out Sat, Dr on Mon and will be seeing the midwife for the first time on Nov 7th. I have been through so many emotions this week already, but everyone here has been wonderful about my worrying and question asking, it's a great place to be seeing as we haven't told anyone yet.

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 28/10/2011 06:54

Welcome elly, bagofsnakes & xandrass!

brighton - thanks for the tip re lucozade. Not sure I can face it at the moment, but I'll bear it in mind.

bagofsnakes - I too love a good cup of tea and was most miffed at having to reduce intake. However, DH has purchases some decaf tea for me to tray and much to my utter amazement it's actually fine! I now have a huge mug of proper tea in the morning and then fill up on decaf through the day.

karron - actually, I've got a bit of a 'twin' feeling too, but no idea why. It'll turn out to be a singleton, I'm sure.

biglips - I'm the opposite; I'm boiling all the time - feel like I'm in a sauna!

misslaughalot - I take pregnacare; so far have been okay on my stomach.

Well, have been feeling sick since 5am. Just had breakfast and to be honest, it's not helped. Looks like the nausea is ramping up for me.

I also have a horrible feeling I'm going off cheese. That's worse than the nausea, sore boobs and period-type pains put together. I normally live for cheese. How can this happen? I have cheese sandwiches every day and can't even face making them this morning, let alone eating them. I feel like the foundations of my reality have been rocked and my world will never be the same. Wah.

Hope everyone has a good day - those of you that fancy it, have a slice of cheese for me!

Xandrass · 28/10/2011 06:57

I feel a bit of a fraud going to the drs so early, but I don't know when else to do it. I'm registered at a walk in center too and want to double check I don't need to move to a proper surgery.
I've told my best friend and a someone at work (I carry loads normally and didn't want to but they would twig straight away) I think the 6 weeks till everything's 'safer' is going to be torture! :)

ecstatica · 28/10/2011 07:17

morning all,
SSCheddar - That's terrible. You'll not be wanting a nice cheese salad baguette then? You must live up to the name! am same with milk and meat

DS2 hopefully last of the the DC with colds. Kept me awake all night but fortunately OH home this evening. Am being sick at anytime I wake up in the night everytime DS woke me up I ran to the bathroom to be sick what's up with that?
Marks and Sparks Inverness Ginger biccies helped on waking today but that was after first bout which doesn't give u a chance to even look at the time.

Xandrass -- so exciting, a lot of us are the same, waiting game....hopefully we can tell all soon

Kayzr · 28/10/2011 07:47

Welcome Xandress congratulations.

Seriously that's awful! I love cheese and couldn't imagine going off it. I really miss having blue cheese already.

I had a much better sleep last night. I woke just before 5 to go to the toilet and then I've just woken up. Smile

Rrrrayray · 28/10/2011 08:34

Hi all

Nausea in full swing here too. The only thing that seems to keep at bay are a couple of ginger nut biscuits.

Welcome all newbies! Xx

Dalrymps · 28/10/2011 08:46

Morning ladiesSmile

Think I'm getting a cold , at least the sickness isn't too bad so far today.

seriously poor you going off cheese! Ive developed a thong for babybels so will have some extra for youWink

2 days till ds1's 4th birthday party and the house is too messy Shock

Dalrymps · 28/10/2011 08:46

A thong for babybel, good lord!! What does that mean??! Of course I meant thing Grin

tipp2chicago · 28/10/2011 08:55

Hi everyone. I'm due my first on June 11, 2012. Unfortunately I can't insert myself into the list as am posting from bloody phone.

Anyway, symptom-wise, I'm doing pretty well. Sore boobs and would sleep for Ireland, but thankfully not sick.

We've told our parents & siblings but holding onto tell the rest of the world until Dec 10 or so when I'll be 14 weeks. That's also the 13th anniversary of my Dad's death, so hoping that the news will cheer people up, especially my Grandmother and Aunt.

Dalrymps · 28/10/2011 08:58

Welcome tipp2Smile Congratulations!

Glad you're bot feeling too sickly. Love plan re announcing the newsSmile

Warlin · 28/10/2011 09:16

Am I the only one without sickness?? Is it wrong to wish I had some to make me feel pregnant :) Although the sore boobs, bloating and tiredness are doing that on their own. I had my first craving yesterday...ready salted hula hoops! I haven't eaten them in years but yesterday I just had to buy some!! Not good for the ever expanding waistline!!

I am in work and worried. One of the offices got painted yesterday and the fumes are really strong. I'm panicked as paint fumes could harm the baby! Don't know what to do as haven't told them in work. Am I overreachting? I read that paint fumes can bring on miscarriage?

I can't do much as I'm here for the day now...just trying to keep my own door shut and holding my breath when I walk past.

Ps, love the new thread name too!

Warlin · 28/10/2011 09:20

Oh and on the vitamin front, I am taking pregnacare. So far they haven't made me sick.

"tipp2"- thats a lovely time to announce the news.

I doubt I could keep it that long though...we have first scan next week and it all goes well (fingers crossed) we will tell close friends then. Don't want to tell work until Feb if I can avoid it as I only started in June and am in probationary period until then!

Kayzr · 28/10/2011 09:30

Welcome Tipp2 congratulations.

Warlin there is something about paint fumes. I can't remember what exactly but I know you're not meant to paint.

SarahBumBarer · 28/10/2011 09:48

Hello to all the newbies and congratulations! Xandrass - with DC1 it sank in for me about 4 weeks after I gave birth Grin

I have hardly any sickness. I was rushing around his morning with DS1 and about an hour after I got up I thought to myself " I don't feel so good". Then I thought "oh yeah, I'm pregnant" (first time I had remembered today) popped in a cheese cracker and felt fine again! With DS1 I was very ill with sickness, lost well over a stone in weight, straight back into my normal clothes as soon as DS was born. It had some advantages but I'm hoping that does not happen again!

I had a mjor thing for beef hula hoops last time.

TheDogWalker - I believe that we were on the August 2010 board together (I have namechanged since then)!

millyv · 28/10/2011 09:49

Morning everyone!

Fab new name for the thread!

Warlin I also don't have any MS and am praying it stays that way, the sore boobs, constant toilet stops and tiredness is enough for me!

Welcome to all newbies, hope you're all ok!

I'm taking the tesco version of pregnacare, my brother is a gp and said there is no point in wasting money on the branded drugs/vits as the boots/tesco/sainsburys versions are exactly the same but are cheaper, not causing any problems for me!

I'm off to meet the midwife in the morning - very excited but a little nervous! Apparently we have to go to this clinic on a saturday morning between 10-11 and have a chat and sign up, they will the decide when our booking appointment and first scan will be. It will be odd speaking to a MW, will definately make it more real!

Hope you all have a fab day, quiet day in work for me today - can't wait until 3pm! xx

growyourown77 · 28/10/2011 10:10

Good luck with your mw appointment millyv!

I'm taking pregnacare conception and pregnancy and have bee since January - only buy it if it's on a 2-4-1 deal though, as they are pricey. :)

Warlin - I don't have morning sickness, as in actually being sick, but i am getting these gnarly hunger feelings that feel a little bit like car sickness nausea - mostly midmorning, then when I eat it goes away, then mid afternoon until i eat dinner, then fine, then last thing at night it feels grumbly too. It's annoying and making me eat more, but if I can avoid actually puking, i'll be happy.

Xandrass · 28/10/2011 10:21

Thank you everyone for the welcomes, so nice hearing congratulations before we can tell most people isn't it. This is the first thread I've ever posted in here, so sorry if I do anything out of place or wrong. I will add myself to the list in a bit it still doesn't seem real enough!!

Warlin - I've not got many symptoms, I'm worried I'll feel sick the weekend after next as I'm supposed to be going away with my mum Hmm my boobs are so saw though that I have put my sports bra on to try and keep them still! I'm not even big but my mums said to me before she went up 4 sizes, and think my nan said something similar so I'm thinking I might be similar.
I'm normally in the can't wait to take the bra off camp. DP has said he'll keep an eye on them!

My tummy feels weird, I don't know what is me just more in tune with it and what is symptom. Doesn't hurt as such though.
