Hi Piper,

Welcome to our club. It's all a bit bleugh at the moment though. Food, indigestion, sickness, heartburn and tiredness is all the rage.

Hope you have respite now and then to lie down and occasionally feel better.

StarlightMcKenzie · 30/10/2011 19:08

What are chocolate apples?

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 30/10/2011 19:12

Dcs can't manage toffee ones yet so we stick a lolly stick in our own apples, smother them in melted chocolate and dip them in sprinkles.

They're in the fridge and I have to leave them alone until 15.30 tomorrow...

Carty80 · 30/10/2011 19:14

Kayzr I feel your pain, DH made a lovely roast dinner and I couldn't touch it, just felt like throwing up too much. Looked so nice too...

Welcome piper and congrats!

Jj I too am quite Sad DS is back to school tomorrow, its been so nice having him home for the last 2 weeks, shall miss him although won't miss the DC's squabbles!

Rrray How was Disney? Did your DD enjoy herself?

Carty80 · 30/10/2011 19:15

Jj I don't know if I could resist til then, they sound yummy!!

openerofjars · 30/10/2011 19:48

Hi Piper! Pull up a chair.

Ooh: not sure I could do choc apples. Apples, yes. Chocolate, fine. Combined? Hmm. Isn't morning sickness weird?

We went to a fair today and OMG the smells from all the food stalls...

I thought my sickness had stopped and was panicking about it until then. Ha ha ha. Very funny, embryo. Managed not to puke in the street.

I am very excited because, as far as I can work out, my tiny alien is an actual foetus tomorrow! Unless my dating scan tells me I am really a week earlier than I think I am, of course, but that isn't for another three sodding weeks.

Re ku Izard/fab conditioner: I found my purse in the fridge and a block of cheddar in my handbag last time. FFS.

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 30/10/2011 20:25

Carty, we only got one week :(

I did make enough for one each, but if I eat mine now I will want another when they have theirs, should have made spare..

Florin · 30/10/2011 20:40

Hope everybody had good weekends. I managed to get through yacht club drinks with no one seeming to guess. Had to hide both the not drinking plus most of the canapé's were things I couldn't have. Enjoyed the mini fish and chips though!
Been really lazy today and chilled out. Dh bought me the dk pregnancy book which is quite good. Dh come back from a shoot with 6 ducks so we are going to be eating a lot of duck for a while! Plucking and gutting tomorrow which I am normally fine with but not sure I can deal with it at the moment as feel a bit green so might leave dh to it!

Kayzr · 30/10/2011 20:46

JJ and Carty Ds1 is back to school tomorrow too. DS2 is back at playschool too. Part of me is looking forward to it but I'll miss them loads. Sad

Florin Just thinking about plucking and gutting ducks is making me feel sick.

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 30/10/2011 22:36

florin. Think dh needs to do that job!

Dd needs to go to nursery soon, there's no spaces until easter for the sure start nursery or september for the school one for her own good I was thinking january start but for my own good I can't bear to be parted, she is my baby, she keeps me company and we talk all day, I'm not ready to send her off. But I can't bear the thought of her thinking she's got to go as mummy has a new baby, but I think ill appreciate that bit of quiet... Ahhh I don't know!!!

I can only send her to ss or school one as they're on ds school site and I don't drive so need to walk them both.

What to dooo?

Xandrass · 31/10/2011 01:28

JJ my friends son and my niece both love going to nursery, I think they think it's more for them than anyone else if that makes sense.

Kayzr · 31/10/2011 04:49

JJ DS1 loved nursery and DS2 already wants to go. I'd maybe put her in the one starting at Easter so you've got a bit of time to rest before the baby comes. But I guess it depends on which you prefer. Is one better than the other? Or are they pretty much the same?

I got up at 4 to go to the toilet. I can't get back to sleepSad

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 31/10/2011 07:03

Morning all!

Welcome Piper!

Well, not a bad night's sleep for me - awake since 5.15am so could be worse. Nausea in full swing so packed a different lunch for today with additional snacks in the hope it will see me through the day.

My whole family now know I'm expecting and are very excited - but when DH phoned his mum to tell her yesterday, she spent the whole half hour telling him all the wonderfully cute things our great nephew is doing and then had to go answer her frontdoor so he never got a chance to tell her! The irony. Grin

Doc's appt today (the pointless one I was forced to make by GP reception to confirm my pregnancy before the midwife will contact me Angry). Also have an asthma check with a nurse before that, so it's an afternoon at the GP for me.

Hope everyone has a good day.

ecstatica · 31/10/2011 08:31

Good morning all,

Hope the week back to school goes well for all. I HE but do feel the same even when they just stay over at nanny's home.
SS Cheddar - Also have GP this afternoon. Snap.

Still as sick as a parrot here, Florin you are one brave woman doing the duck thing!!! Hat off to you.

OH told PIL because I will need to explain why I'm so sick and I need their help with DC this week (10 days till big move). MIL was very happy but if i quoted 'hanging a noose around your necks' would I be wrong to be upset?

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 31/10/2011 08:46

Thanks for the reassurance, she asks to go to a 'little school' a lot but being nearly three doesn't get the reality that she will be left and has been known to scream for hours when left with dp or my mum who she sees daily,

I'm going to look into the sure start one from easter as that's flexi sessions whereas school one is five mornings or nothing, ease her in more gently that way, and the sure start on is next door to the school one so not a huge change when september arrives. Its very nerve wracking though.

Very achey and twinges today, I'm hoping and praying its just muscles stretching etc, going to be more uncomfortable with two scars isn't it?

Very tired, bad headache and feel sick but hungry too Hmm

Hope you got some more sleep kayzr

Exstatica don't you just love the things ils say, I'm dreading telling mine.

Carty80 · 31/10/2011 09:22

Florin The thought of your job to do today, makes my stomach do serious flips, fair play to you if you manage it! Love duck!

Esctatica Just smile sweetly and laugh it off! I don't speak to my MIL unfortunately so I didn't have to face her to tell her the news!

Jj My DD 3 in Nov goes into nursery 2 full days a week. She started off in Sep doing 2 mornings then asked to stay the afternoon too. Her brother is in reception next door so they get to play with each other and she loves it! I was dreading it but actually the day goes so quickly your picking them up before you know it.

Kayzr Your really suffering with sleep aren't you! Hope you manage to get some rest today.

Good luck at docs seriously

Feeling very sick, very deflated and unmotivated to do anything. DS gone off to school and have gyminis with DD at lunchtime but need to get up off my arse and do some jobs this morning. Right, cup of tea then hoovering, woo hoo!!

Have a nice day all.

Warlin · 31/10/2011 09:39

Morning all

Welcome Piper- I know what you mean about the new job. I only started a couple of months ago so it won't go down well! I am 7+3 now and got first scan Wed....really nervous!

I managed to get through work drinks on Friady night (was pretending to drink and they were piling on the pressure to get my drunk so wasn't very relaxing! Think they think I'm a bit dull but hay ho! Hopefully all will be out in the open soon!

I'm struggling to eat healthily too! Lots of fruit but have been craving fatty stuff. Had a fish supper for tea last night and have't had one in years! Feeling a bit queezy this morning and have so much to do at work. Plus my little puppy isn't eating properly so I'm worried about her. Not looking forward to dark walks every night now...though at least this morning was bright.

Anyone else tearful??? I cried lots on Sat...no real reason just silly things really getting to me....think it's going to be a long 9 months!

Good luck at docs *seriously", fingers crossed for you

Kveta · 31/10/2011 09:45

JJ, my DS does 3 school days at nursery and 2 at childminder every week (I work school hours, 5 days a week, which is something of a lucky fluke, as I don't work at a school!!). He loves both, although has taken longer to settle at nursery than at CM. He's been there since he was 1 though, and obviously doesn't change rooms/key workers at the CMs, so has settled amazingly with her, but changing rooms at nursery sets him back every time. He's wonderfully sociable now though, which I wasn't at all as a child - and still am not sociable now.

DS had his playgroup halloween party last night, which he loved. He went as a bee, so stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the pumpkins and devils. I'm not used to halloween in England yet; back home we always did homemade costumes, which often had little to do with scaring people, and more to do with just dressing up, and we had to learn a poem or song to perform (the treat) before we got our sweets! Anyway, he won the dancing competition (so proud!!) and bopped around until he keeled over with exhaustion, then only slept until 4 am. sigh.

I'm not too sick today, just a bit nauseous this morning, and my jeans touching my tummy are really making me feel sick. I don't want to go into maternity jeans yet though!!

hope all goes well today greengoose

Kveta · 31/10/2011 09:46

oh, and those who have just started new jobs - I started this job when I was 5 months pg with DS! still got 4 months maternity pay too, and ended up taking 7 months off in total, then coming back part time. I may just have been very lucky, but my boss has bent over backwards to accommodate my new hours and any childcare issues I've had. He's wonderful!

ecstatica · 31/10/2011 09:51

Warlin - Yes, I flicked over to the Teaching Awards last night and cried and cried!!!!! And I mean cried!!!!! Tsk Tsk....

ecstatica · 31/10/2011 09:51

Greengoose - hope to c u on here later today xx

Kayzr · 31/10/2011 10:04

The MW is having the day off when I was meant to be having my booking in appointment. So now I'm having it a week later so it's 2 weeks away now Sad I'm fed up of waiting.

Greengoose I hope all goes well today.

greengoose · 31/10/2011 11:27

hi all. thanks for the well wishes.... really cheered me up!
Well, I went to the GP this morning, and its a drop in, so they lost track of me somehow, and although I was one of the first there (8.30), they only saw me when I inquired at 9.45.... the upshot being by the time the doctor called EPU for me the EPU were full for the day, and Ive got to wait until 11am tom. for a scan. They slightly ridiculous bit was, because of where Im sore, the Doc questioned whether it might be ectopic, and printed off my medical notes for me incase I need admitted to A&E before then!!! Crazy system!! So I basically have to wait until tomorrow to find out, but not hopeful, although no more blood.
Sorry its a bit me me me....

JjandtheBeanplusPud · 31/10/2011 11:34

Fingers crossed for you green I hope it goes well.

Dd is pottering around in purple combats and tshirt with her bright orange pumkin 'fairy' dress over the top, its a sight to behold, she does make me laugh.

We've decided if there's space we want her in nursery 2days pwk before the baby arrives so its her place as she will appreciate the space I think, and I don't want her to start after the baby is born, just seems harsh, going to query it today, so let's hope.

honeybee23 · 31/10/2011 11:37

Hi ladies, can I join the club?:) I'm on my phone so can't see the join group button. I am 5weeks and approx. 3 days, due date 28th June. I wasn't going to post anything as until half an hour ago I didn't know whether I was still pregnant.. I'm at St. Thomas' hospital at the EPAU after bad cramping and brown discharge. They did an transvaginal scan and all is well! They saw both the gestational and the yolk sac and even the embryo! I am so so relieved! Now waiting to see a consultant. I was diagnosed with Asherman's Syndrome last year & had a hysteroscopy to treat it. It looks like it worked since I'mnow pregnant for the first time in five years!:) Just wanted to share my good news with you.
