hi all, welcome newcomers, just adding myself to the thread before work internet mysteriously crashes again. honestly, don't they know some of us have mumsnetting work to do around here?!

ellybett · 28/10/2011 11:33

Congrats xandrass and tipp2. So many June mums to be! It definitely makes it seem real to be able to talk about it to so many people in the same situation.

I'm 5 + 4 today so no MS yet and keep veering between not being hungry at all to an overwhelming need for cheese based products, so much so I had to whip a batch of cheese scones this morning (and I am not the domesticated type!)
I'd be wary of paint as I know toxic based paints are obviously not going to be good but in a work place you'd assume they'd be ok. I was wondering about cleaning products like cillit bang though, anyone know if they should be avoided? It's only because I'm trying to get out of cleaning the sink! Would much rather watch DD1 try and do yogo to waybuloo!

ellybett · 28/10/2011 11:36

Xandrass I'd say the tummy thing was just things stretching about inside! I had the same around the time I found out, felt like gentle cramp which never seemed to go away. In a way I almost found it comforting as it felt like all was working inside. Except when it stopped it freaked me out. Oh the joys of pregnancy paranoia!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 28/10/2011 11:59

6+5 now Grin

My boobs are bigger already

Felt extremely sick last night lots of wobbliness and gagging, dp is on holiday today so I've just had a disgusting 11 1/2 hours sleep and still tired!! Woke up starving and had to raid the kitchen instantle for a huge bowl of shreddies, fancy a sausage sandwich now :)

Shower first I need to wake up!

I've just been eating chocolate spread out of the jar with a spoon. Awfully unhealthy but amazingly tasty.

I blame the baby [hgrin]

think I'm 8+4 today. Only a few weeks to go until the nausea hopefully stops. it's lunchtime now, and I have no idea what to have. could go to canteen at work, but the food is basically inedible at the best of times. May wander to the cafe and get another baked potato and hope it stays down today.

we've got a very close friend visiting tomorrow, so I've promised to cook him a roast, and am now wondering if that's a good idea, with a large raw chicken to contend with!! i wonder if he'd be offended if I invited him round and then we got a take away?! :o

Warlin · 28/10/2011 12:04

ellybet -I was worried about cleaning products too but have been using them. I read that they are safe but try and keep a window open and don't spend too long around the undiluted stuff. The paint smell is reduced a bit now but I am still a bit worried..although there are people who don't know about their pregnancies and are using al that stuff.

Warlin · 28/10/2011 12:32

I'm starving too.....had my first fix of hula hoops earlier and now a cheese sandwich! I'm normally careful about what I eat so its nice to be a bit more relaxed for a while...I blame the baby too :)

DH bought a bucket of haribo for trick or treaters and they're all gone before Halloween! Going to have to replenish to avoid disappointed kids faces!

misslaughalot · 28/10/2011 13:04

warlin I have no sickness either and dont feel pregnant at all! I get a kind of hunger feeling in my stomach, and can smell absolutely everything but am with you when you say you wish you had sickness to make it seem real.

6 + 3 today I think, and 10 days until my booking in. Somebody PLEASE take my mind off it all!!

karron · 28/10/2011 13:39

I'm not sick but feel sick which is pretty rubbish can do without being sick as well. The smell of meat cooking at the moment makes me feel real bad and also on the anti-cheese thing.

I'm taking sanatogen mother to be vitamins but have been told by midwife that as a fat-fat-fatty that I need a higher amount of folic acid (5mg rather than 400ug) but when went to chemists told I couldn't get without a perscription! She also said to take vit D tablets but also couldn't get those either without added calcium which I wasn't sure I should do. Mint tic tacs are the main tablet I'm taking at the moment!

Before my last pregnancy didn't drink tea but by then end was a total tea addict as it was my only craving. This pregnancy this has progressed to wanting earl grey all the time - think it may be a posh baby Wink.

StarlightMcKenzie · 28/10/2011 13:43

Oh here you all are!

StarlightMcKenzie · 28/10/2011 13:45

Biglips SOrry meant to reply to your burning throat post.

I had that with my last two pregnancies really early on. Heartburn. You need gaviscon or rennies (not the no-sugar type). It was awful.

I progressed to zantac and then something else.

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 28/10/2011 13:46

Super snouts at it again, the dcs had cucumber with lunch, it stank, I could smell it upstairs!

I'm with karron on the feel sick, but not actually sick.

S'all fun this hey!

I'm ready to kill dp, I saved myself a couple of sausages and the bastards horrible man ate them!!

Kayzer, I thought the ONLY way to eat chocolate spread was with a spoon Confused

biglips · 28/10/2011 14:11

bookmarking it. as im taking the girls to the wacky warehouse for an hour to wear them out!....i slept for 10 hrs solid last nite and feel alot better today. and im feeling good.

Carty80 · 28/10/2011 14:52

Great thread title!

Feeling very sick and lots of gagging too, just keep nibbling but think I may go and buy some ginger biscuits to see if they help.

Was up at 3am visiting my parents house as their burglar alarm went off and couldn't get back to sleep, kept having panicy thoughts about the labour and birth! So glad its Friday, am going to try and get a lie in tomorrow morning.

Its so nice to just come on here and read everyone else having the same symptoms or stomach cramps/pains so you know your not the only one!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 28/10/2011 15:24

moan alert

I have achey hips, already.

:(

I haaaaate it its sooooo annoying!

Also keep getting twinges around my c-section scars, anyone else have any experience of this

I am feeling pretty symptom free today (apart from my large boobs). Have a work night out tonight and I really can't be bothered. I'm so tired but its the first time Ive been out as its a new job (really really can't tell them I'm pregnant yet :)... won't go down too well!). Any tips for how to pretend that your car isnt' outside and that you're up for a boozy night whislt secretly sticking to water???

emblosion · 28/10/2011 15:31

Hi everyone, and welcome & congrats to all the newbies!

Well done everyone on getting us to thread number 2 already, I've been very lax on the posting front - was away at my mums for a few days and have had a busy week this week....

Finally went to see my GP, who was lovely and has referred me to the Midwives, but said I'll probably not get an appointment til I'm about ten weeks and then a scan at 12-14 weeks - how I will last til then with all my mentalling I don't know, lol! Am wondering whether to talk to DP about forking out for a private scan, but don't know if we can justify the expense really....

Not much new to report, only major symptom is tiredness - I could sleep for both the UK and Ireland I reckon, sore boobs on and off and feeling a bit queasy from time to time. Am 6+2 I think so I guess plenty of time for symptoms to kick in....

Has anyone else been having really weird dreams? Mine have been really strange and vivid and i wondered if that was pregnancy related.....

best wishes to all! Em x

emblosion · 28/10/2011 15:34

ps: just been catching up with the thread - I'm with you guys on the anti-cheese thing... VERY distressing, as I normally love it! What will I eat? [hsmile]

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 28/10/2011 15:39

Emblosion

Vivid dreams are a pregnancy thing I'm afraid

Warlin I was out with friends at the weekend, wasn't sure what to say/whether to pretend to drink, but just ended up saying I'd had a dodgy stomach & wasn't feeling great (as excuse for not drinking). I get horrendous hangovers anyway tho, so it wouldn't be that unusual for me not to be drinking....

jjandthebean.. lol, so the madness will continue - last night I was being chased across a country estate by someone that I knew was going to kill me Confused the dream then shifted and I was in a shopping mall somewhere in small-town america and was trying to buy scented candles for which I didn't have the correct change.... I woke up at 6am majorly confused!

x

Kveta · 28/10/2011 15:50

woo, got my scan date - 14th November! had to change it, as I've got a work trip that week, and originally they had me booked for the 18th. So excited, DH is booking time off work - he missed my 1st scan last time as we were in different countries!! now just to work out what to do with DS. may have to beg the childminder to have him an extra day!

thedogwalker · 28/10/2011 15:55

Hi all SarahBB, you must tell me your previous name, but yes I was on the august 2010 board, doesn't time fly by Smile. I am so happy to be pg again, I was counting down the days until I could start ttc and luckily concieved on 1st time of asking.
On the subject of hunger, I ate 3 donuts yesterday Blush, I have a constant hunger. Whilst I've been at work today, DH has made a homemade cheesecake and I am desperate to take a slice but he's gone out and I think it would be rude of me to ruin it Hmm. He's even topped it with fresh strawberries and made a strawberry coolie sauce, which is drizzled over, yum yum, don't know much longer I can restrain myself. All I know is, I won't fit in my size 10 clothes for much longer at this rate. Hope everyone is well xx
