Yes! & neither have I!!!

Took test this afternoon. No 2 for me.

harecare · 26/08/2011 22:33

Ridiculous teariness lead to me buying a test yesterday. Positive after taking morning after pill. Number 3.
Yikes!

saggybaps · 27/08/2011 10:41

Congratulations!

Seemingly we're all in shock, after leaping round like a nutter 1st time around, this time I'm quietly excited, but a little subdued. Not bringing this one into such ideal circumstances, just need to get my head around things.
Better dig out the folic acid!

elizabethtailored · 27/08/2011 11:06

Wow - I thought I was on my own for a while there! Congratulations ladies. When I started the post I hadn't seen the doctor so was a week out with my dates - you can tell this is my first (!) - he then told me 30th April but the NHS guide advised 1st May.

Am staying here!

Can I ask those of you who are on baby no 2 and 3 - is it normal to keep getting twinges of what feels like period pain? I have been having for a week now.

elizabethtailored · 27/08/2011 11:06

And saggybaps - have you told your husband yet?!

OP posts:
harecare · 27/08/2011 20:15

Hmm, maybe. I thought I was starting my period at the start of this week as I felt like I do when I do start. If it's really painful maybe ask your GP, if it just feels like a period that's OK I think. I did a calculator from babycentre and got 2nd May date, but I expect this to change from a dating scan all being well - not bothered about the date, but 12 weeks is a long time away.
I feel shattered though. What can I eat etc? I guess I'll have to dig a book out - hadn't even thought about folic acid. Time to wean off the coffee though. I got really drunk last weekend too. Oh dear!
Congratulations all!

toddlerama · 28/08/2011 20:58

Found out yesterday we're having number 3! We moved the day before yesterday to a new area. I don't have a GP yet.

I do get twinges, but I know these are due to adhesions from the previous c-sections. As my womb stretches even a little I really feel it. I get the same with my period.

Mostly just starving hungry and having a nap around 4pm! DH finds this hilarious and recognises it as the earliest sign - 'so it begins' said very darkly when I woke up with a start in the car this afternoon....

MyDaydream · 28/08/2011 21:18

I found out yesterday I was expecting, the great powers of the internet suggest my due date is May 1st. It'll be my first baby, I'm a little scared and excited. I'm nauseous, itchy, a bit dizzy and VERY bloated. Most of my clothes are nipped in at the waist, I just keep looking at my wardrobe and wanting to cry about what doesn't fit anymore. Will this go away at all, or is there a large shopping trip in the near future?

harecare · 28/08/2011 22:04

Toddlerama - I moved at the start of the holidays too and haven't registered with my GP yet. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's shattered!
Mydaydream - soon nothing will fit, but there are plenty of nice pregnancy clothes around. I'm going to start watching what I eat and doing some yoga or something so I don't get too fat. I have just lost all my baby weight from 1st 2 DCs mainly by running, but I got SPD in last 2 pregnancies so I think I'll have to knock running on the head.
Saggybaps - have you told your dh yet?
Elizabetht - how are the twinges?

toddlerama · 29/08/2011 08:46

Congratulations mydaydream ! All sounds normal - especially itching! I found my skin became hyper sensitive through pregnancy, but switching to ecoballs instead of laundry detergent really helped and was so economical we've stuck with them.

Harecare I'm trying to keep weight stable too. Also had SPD last time. I lost 6 stone after DD2 and I don't want to have to do that ever again!!! I'm sure I've got a load of back fat that wasn't there before though.....

I'm dying to tell the DDs but wont be for quite a while. They're always asking if they can have a baby!

Going shopping this afternoon for some maternity jeans as I need new jeans desperately and have been putting it off whilst we were trying and living in leggings.

saggybaps · 29/08/2011 16:51

Hello & Congratulations all.

No, still not told husband. I think I'm in denial! We have a big event next weekend. I think I'll tell him after that.

I keep looking at my gorgeous girl, who has just turned one, & I feel like a traitor! Oh god... I'm going mad already!

elizabeth yes it is normal (for me) to get period-esque twinges. I put it down to everything moving around and finding it's right place, but if you are at all concerned, see your doc.

saggybaps · 29/08/2011 19:08

elizabeth have you told your husband yet?!

harecare · 29/08/2011 20:47

Saggybaps, how on earth are you managing to keep it a secret from DH? Aren't you just itching to tell him? Your DD will love having a sibling (most of the time!) so try not to feel like a traitor.
Toddlerama - I have 2 girls too, how old are yours? Mine are 4 and nearly 2.

fidelma · 29/08/2011 22:07

Sorry I shouldn't gate crash as not pregnant with no.5! but wanted to say to Elizabeth that I always got twinges at this stage,I put it down to implantation etc.

I wish you all the best.Enjoy you won't be pregnant forever (although it always feels like it)

goodname · 30/08/2011 10:54

Hi all, I just did a pregnancy test this morning and was quite shocked to find it was positive. We are trying for a baby but this was the first month and to be honest we were not trying very much due to the dreadful sleep of DS1 who is 15 months. I wanted a small gap between babies and would have tried earlier if not for the exhaustion.
So I think I am very happy but at the same time somewhat dreading the 9 months (or is it the next few years!). Hopefully I will get a better sleeper this time.

I also have not told DH yet but only because he wont answer his phone.
Saggybaps I feel exactly the same about my poor wee boy. He wont know whats hit him when the baby comes along! And I feel so sad I wont have quite as much time for him anymore.

goodname · 30/08/2011 11:01

Oh due may 4th I believe (according to internet)

elizabethtailored · 30/08/2011 11:12

Harecare and fidelma - thanks for reassuring me about the twinges. It seems to be first thing in the morning. I have had a good Google and wondered if it could be my 'uterus strectching' - not sure I like the sound of that!

Big congrats goodname!!

elizabethtailored · 30/08/2011 11:16

Saggybaps - yes I have told my husband. I did it on Wednesday night after running out at lunchtime to buy a stripy yellow babygro. I gave him a John Lewis bag and said it had a present in it for him which I thought he might need. He looked at me blankly for a moment, the lightbulb came on and he is thrilled.

Have you revealed all yet?!

Onlymydogunderstandsme · 30/08/2011 15:48

Hi Ladies, can I join please? I had my BFP last night (and another this morning just to confirm) and I'm feeling very nrevous although I am happy. DP is feaking out a bit which isn't helping but he is AWFUL about talking about feelings/planning for the future. Not really that much of a surprise seeing as we weren't using any contraception ;) I think (or hope) he will be ok! Due date estimater on here says 4th May, going to docs tomorrow. I'm planning on telling my sister later as DP works away in the week and want someone to know in case he's not around and something bad happens - just in case!

Momface · 30/08/2011 19:22

SOOO glad to see so many of you were completely shocked like I was on Sunday morning. Nice to not be the only one, you know? You'd think we didn't know how this sort of thing could happen ;)

I posted on the April babies board yesterday because all the internet due date calendars estimated April 30th. I just got back from the dr, though, and she said I am due on May 3rd. I suppose we'll see...

This is my first, my husband doesn't know yet (he's out of town, but he'll be back Thursday AM. I am FULLY expecting him to faint!), and I am also feeling a bit sick. Oh, and I should also say that I am an America, so if I use odd spellings or phrases, that's why.

Glad to be here, and I wish all you ladies the best :)

MyDaydream · 30/08/2011 20:49

I told dp yesterday he thought I was taking the piss, not helped by the fact i got a half hour giggle fit while telling him. Were both waiting for it to sink in, i keep thinking someone is going to come along and tell me theres been a misunderstanding!

Onlymydogunderstandsme · 31/08/2011 09:36

Morning Ladies, I have been to see my GP this morning. She was so pleased for me as have been to see her recently as was having wierd cycles and low progesterone and she suggested it may take us a while to concieve (hence mine and DP's shock!). She is pg herself so it felt like she really understood if that makes sense! Anyway due date 3rd May....nothing now until midwife will contact me at 8 weeks ish, she did however make me fully aware of the miscarriage risks which I knew but now feeling quite scared about it!! Told me sister last night who is so excited, was nice for someone to be so pleased for us as we were having a real wobble last night. This baby is definately wanted but it's still a shock to the system!! Not telling anyone else though, now just to deal with this quesey feeling which I now realise is a symptom!!

elizabethtailored · 31/08/2011 09:43

Onlymy...

I saw my doc on Thursday and he told me about the one in three miscarriage risk and have been feeling pretty subdued ever since. Am paranoid every time I go to the loo that I will be bleeding. Had no idea the figures were so high.
