Just marking my place, very hungry little man here so will post details and photos later.
Hope it's quiet because everyone is having babies!

SaraL77 · 28/01/2011 15:50

crysty didn't realise you had an early labour initially - glad they managed to keep the baby in, but must be annoying that you're now overdue!

yep cupcakes still here. So what is a beaba? thats awful of her to send it to you in such a bad condition- I thought most ebayers wanted good ratings. shame on her. Hope she gives you a refund.

CupcakesHay · 28/01/2011 16:05

A Beaba is a kind of steamer/blender all in one thing - I'm just planning ahead for weaning - cos i want to make own baby food - cos i'll be in syria- so i have to be organised and bring everything i'm going to need with me now - as not planning to come back to Uk til maybe september - and we can;t get a hell of a lot out there.

Pleased evan's doing well fuzzy Grin

Just realised i'm not even at my due date yet and i'm impatient Blush - how am i going to be when I'm overdue????

OP posts:
RockLover · 28/01/2011 16:08

Ooh new thread, lovely and roomy in here!

Following on from my last post it's deffo not my plug or a bloody show, I'm pretty sure it's from the external ares near my urethra. It's only little streaks when I wipe and certainly not vaginal bleeding as my skin is now feeling quite stingy and sore. I think it's been caused because I been peeing so much and therefore alot of wiping has taken it's toll. So sorry for TMI Blush.

I am really dreading having my sweep tomorrow, but tonight I am going to be having a bath and shaving my legs so that I am at least smelling nice and not looking gorilla like for the mw even if I act like a complete wimp!

Going to try and chill for the rest of the evening and try to practice relaxing my muscles so that the mw doesn't have a fight to gain access lol.

I am now eating yet more food (cheese and beetroot roll) and then I will go and do the washing up....rubbish. Will pop in again later.

Crystylline · 28/01/2011 16:17

sara yes, it was scary! i fell over and with my wonky uterus, it didn't help. docs were great and had extra scans, tests and steroids for growth etc. he's stayed put as a result. but yes, it's now annoying being overdue, as i started mat leave early and just eating into my paid time off, which is only 6 weeks. eeek!

cupcakes hopefully, you won't go overdue. we've not had many early or on time babies here, so maybe yours will be one of those x.

tis crap about the Beaba thing. i'd def ask for a refund/part return of cash, at the very least the postage difference. cheeky wotsit.

rock sounds like a UTI, which must be very painful. lavender or tea tree in the bath?

and how on earth can you shave your legs? i can't even see mine most of the time lol. Grin

fuzzy glad Evan's feeding well. that's v. good news. i can't wait to be all smitten with my LO!

Pootle78 · 28/01/2011 16:36

I'm not popping!!!

Been out to lunch with my sister and still trying to sort out those bl**dy plumbers!!!

Hello Fuzzy, 'fraid not, looks like it is the normal suspects still here! Glad Evan is feeding well.

Cupcakes my last mw appointment was 38+5, next appointment 41, so think it depends where you are in the country. She also told me that they wouldn't do a sweep until 40+8 or 9 which is next Thurs/Fri for me and induce at 10-12 which would be the Sunday or the Monday

And that is minging about the beaba, can you work out what she last cooked in it? Grin

Rock have you tried moist toilet roll so that you don't get sore from iping? I have bought some for after the event for when I feel like I've been kicked in the fanjo a 1000 times!

But on a plus cheese and beetroot roll, yum, yum!

Running sorry it wasn't better news at the mw at least you have a date now if you do need to be induced and fingers crossed you'll get going before then because you don't want to be induced (iyswim?!)

Sara at least you have something to show! Not had anything here, but as I keep saying to the other half, there's never been a baby that has not been born!!!

Crystl I also did the walk think today, nearly killed me, I needed a crunchie to recover! And I can see why you are a bit p*ssed off about being overdue when baby C wanted to come and play 6 weeks ago!

Today I was trying to be a good mummy to be and set the moses basket up (if baby pootle realises it has somewhere to sleep it may decide to pop Hmm ) but couldn't work out where all the linings went, thought I had made a bit of a hash of it and left it thinking mum or mil can sort it, I was then scanning through the new Argos catalogue and spotted the same moses basket with covers and boy have I bodged it, glad only dh saw it!!!

Have decided that I think that any day between next Monday and Thursday would be good for having this baby as they are all cool dates of birth ...

31111
1211
2211
3211

Or am I just getting delerious now?!

May need to go and get some cheese and biscuits, dh wants to go for another walk this evening to try and force baby pootle to fall out Confused - I'm sure I'll be back later!

Pootle78 · 28/01/2011 16:39

X post with Crystyl so didn't copy your post re: evan word for word, we must just have a psychic (or psychotic Confused link!)

Crystylline · 28/01/2011 16:49

pootle it must be the matching due date thingy! that's so funny Grin

i like the date thing... and agree. my sweep is on tuesday, so 1/2/11 would be fine by me. sooner obviously better though lol.

and re: overdue. it's prob my fault! when it was all kicking off, i had a v. stern chat with bump about not being allowed to come out until after the 10th jan. perhaps he took me at my word too strongly, or is now sulking.

i'm going to have one of those children, aren't I? eek lol.

i've been naughty and eaten a scone (on top of doughnut and bagel earlier) and now i want another one! i think i'd better start prepping dinner before i just end up eating lots of crap and forgoing real food.

LadyBuzz · 28/01/2011 17:10

marking my place, My DB has arrived with a box of 12 KKs Grin I'm off to hide them from the DSs Grin

Pootle78 · 28/01/2011 17:17

Yay lady enjoy every single one of them, and let us know what flavours he bought! I should be getting 12 tomorrow!

RockLover · 28/01/2011 17:17

Liking the dates pootle, any of you ladies can have 2/2/11, I'm forbidden that date as it's my nephew's birthday (he'll be 1 next week).

My DD is the 1/1/05 and my Dsis is 3/3 (won't divulge the yr lol), so nephew slots in nicely on 2/2.

I still have a huge slab of birthday cake left to eat, YUMMY! I might have to make another one on Sunday if this little one is still dragging his heels.

CupcakesHay · 28/01/2011 18:22

I thought about the dates too pootle Grin - and my friend's bday is on the 2nd, so she is DESPERATE for baby to be born that day.... although DH not so keen as Chelsea are playing!

Baby moving lots, and feels like he's trying to burrow deeper - a good sign?

Brill news about the KKs buzz what a fab brother Smile

Sorry rock about painful bleeding/wee thing - and UGH on the roll Wink not my cup of tea!

And agree completely about the shaving your legs rock - you're so dedicated!

well - DH watched the youtube videos - so feel better now and def happier that he might know what's happening during labour.

Did I tell you i got a parcel in post - a nursing bra and choc. but no idea who sent it! Odd eh? Thought it might be MIl - but not her writing. And a bit gutted - as Bra is the size i got measured in in London (40ff! -HUGE) - but it's not going to fit me - so not sure hwat to do - do you think it'll fit in a few months time???

As for sweeps etc - i might call my m/wife on monday and see if she can squeeze me in on tues. She only comes to our doctors on tues and thurs... so if not, i need to wait til my appt on thurs. Can't decide what to do - don't want to be pushy but dont particular want to go all the way to induction date IYSWIM.

Oh - how are plumbers pootle?

OP posts:
RockLover · 28/01/2011 20:09

Oh my god, have just eaten pasta with green pesto and mushrooms along with some smoked salmon squares with mousse in them. I am SO full that my tummy hurts and it feels like I've been pumped up with air. Ow!

I can't bloody move now! It's probably because I've been snacking all day, I am such a pig! Crikey I better not go into labour now or I'll pop!

CupcakesHay · 28/01/2011 20:35

I've had jacket, beans and sausage and 2 cookies Blush and stuffed - and also have heartburn. I blame running for passing me the heartburn baton! ugh....

and couldn't get liquid heartburn in a flavour i liked... so only have tablets. UGH.

I must admit rock i've turned into a right pig too in the last month.... so bad!

How was your Dp's bday yesterday rock? And what are your plans for the weekend? .... giving birth hopefully Grin

OP posts:
RockLover · 28/01/2011 20:43

I can only stomach the aniseed flavour Gaviscon, the peppermint makes me want to hurl. Talking of indigestion, I'll have to head for the magic bottle in a minute.

DP had a lovely birthday, his Dsis came round and stayed for tea with us which DD loved because it was more like a party. The cake was a big hit, although I put 4 candles on it for DP to blow out as I thought 33 would be a fire hazard lol.

This weekend...hmmm, well tomorrow I am having a sweep which I am actiually mildly terrified of, I am totally crap with internals anyway and being all tender inside is just going to make it harder. I can honestly say that the vaginal exams were one of the worst parts of DD's labour, but I am just a complete wimp :).

As for the rest of the weekend, I think I will just ask DP to help me get the flat tidy again, hoover the living room etc, just so things are half decent for when my dad comes down.

What are your plans cupcakes?

Crystylline · 28/01/2011 21:18

just managed to upset everyone! Sad

was away from my phone for an hour (bath, dinner etc). 9 missed calls from a whole variety of people. spoke to two of them after and they're all upset because i've just launched off at them about the fact that if i'd had the baby then of course i'd bloody call them!

grr. Angry

i know i should be grateful that people care, but it's really pissing me off. i'm pregnant, not sick and i'm frustrated that i haven't had the baby yet, but there's not a whole lot i can do about it.

feel like a completely unreasonable cow, but i've had enough of being nice now.

RockLover · 28/01/2011 21:28

Aww Crysty, you have every right to be fed up, most women are at the end of a pregnancy.

I know people are keen to make sure you're ok and everything, but they really need to stop and think for a minute how you're feeling and how constantly hassling you isn't going to help. Baby will come when it's good and ready and not before.

Get yourself a cuppa, put your feet up and chill out....you may not get many more chances to do it. :)

NoLadyButManyBubbasAndBumps · 28/01/2011 21:31

sorry been MIA. was indeed pushing - and my little (ahem) gorgeous son made a quick appearance ten to one in the morning 27th Jan after coming in to hospital at 10pm weds. Lachlan Robert weighed in at a rather mind-boggling 12lbs 3oz I kid you not! All done naturally with some help from good old Gas & Air! Told you I built 'em big! Still in hosp though, he's been admitted and now discharged 24 hrs later from scbu with a respiratory infection. All very worrying but now improving. Still on anti-bios but back with me on postnatal ward so all good. Will read posts in full when back home, congrats to fuzzy, hope others follow soon if wanted soon! Poss here till Tues xx

Well done bubba, especially as he was such a strapping lad!

Sorry to hear he is under the weather, but glad he is back with you on the ward, that's great news indeed. Lovely name by the way :).

Fuzzywood · 28/01/2011 21:38

Wow Bubba that is indeed impressive! What a lovely name. Sorry to hear he's been a bit poorly and glad he's on the mend.
What do your DDs think of their little brother? DD here is a very proud big sister though does keep insisting that he needs to wake up Hmm mummy thinks not!
Evan sleeping at the moment so taken time to get some food now going to try for some sleep so will post photo tomorrow x

Crystylline · 28/01/2011 21:38

thanks rock i think i'll text and apologise. can't face further conversations right now.

bubba woo hooooooooooooooo!!!!

that's a huge baby! i'm sure young Lachlan (nice name) will beat off that infection in no time at all and good that you can stay in with him the whole time too. let's see those pics when you get a chance. i bet he's gorgeous and congrats!

Grin
Crystylline · 28/01/2011 21:40

x-post

fuzzy i'm convinced that i'll be just like your DD and keep waking the baby up to play check he's ok.

sleep well

SaraL77 · 28/01/2011 21:49

congratulations bubba! you make it sound like it was so easy Wink Glad he's improving too- not nice having to worry about a respiratory infection.

I've had contractions for the last hour and a half but they're very irregular- so I'm off to bed to get some rest in case they turn more regular- I'm hoping if it is labour it'll start around 5am-I don't want to lose a whole nights sleep!...
