G'day all, and hello to Polly! I did indeed get me lie in this morning...having had a terrible night sleep, I fell back to sleep at about half eight and slept until 11:50!

I lost my interwebs last night so couldn't respond to your SIL...has she had her baybee yet? If not, I don't think I can risk hanging on, as I have only a couple of weeks to go...(admire my optimism that baby will not be late :)) let me know and I will respond direct on FB. thanks.

Muser · 14/01/2011 13:34

Continuing discussion from last thread, you should get time off for antenatal appointments, including relaxation classes. But only if it's been advised by a midwife/doctor/etc. So if your midwife tells you to go and do yoga, they should give you time to do that. But if it's just you fancying a bit of yoga then you can't.

Is Loose Women a fucking nadir in the representation of wimminz on tv?

LadyGoneGaga · 14/01/2011 13:43

I can't stand that programme. Turn it off Cho. I find Jeremy Kyle preferable and that is saying something!

Muser · 14/01/2011 13:45

Loose Women is indescribably awful. It was also constantly on in the EPU when I was having my ectopic sorted out. God it was hideous. Sat there feeling fucking awful and being subjected to that drivel.

God, that was around this time last year. What a year! From "will I ever have a baybeeeee" to "AARGH, get that foot out of my rib!"

ChoChoSan · 14/01/2011 13:46

Don't worry GeeGee, it's long gone...shudder

ChoChoSan · 14/01/2011 13:51

It's amazing how things have changed this year Muse... A year ago tomorrow was my EDD for one of my MCs, and this Aprill would have been the fifth anniversary of starting ttc... I don't know where I would be now if this diffment hadn't worked out so well...I'm so thankful

Muser · 14/01/2011 13:54

In a few weeks you'll be cuddling your baby Cho! Weird how the dates synchronise.

Where you asking for box set recommendations the other day, or was that someone else? We can save you from the horrors of daytime telly.

OP posts:
Medee · 14/01/2011 13:59

You are entitled to paid time off for antenatal appointments and classes. Yoga classes and the like are, I think, less clear, and probably depend on your employer ? probably only if at your MW?s ?prescription?. Other halves don?t have an entitlement to time off to accompany to appointments, which IMO is ridiculous. MrM?s immediate boss was cool with him coming to the scans, but he had to officially claim it as a doctor?s appointment for himself in order for him to be allowed the time off!

ChoChoSan · 14/01/2011 14:00

Yes, that was me with the box sets...I feel as though we've done most of them already, as we've been on Lovefilm for yonks and don't watch much telly day to day.

Ideally I am looking for something that I don't have to save for the boyf to watch with me, so I can view anytime. Friends got me Madmen, but me and Boyf are already nearly finished it! I have done the Wire, True Blood, Deadwood, Damages and the Shield amongst others...all of which I would HIGHLY recommend. I am a bit stumped where to go next...

LadyGoneGaga · 14/01/2011 14:05

Aw Cho and Muse - you are both making me feel sad but happy . Have announced it at work now and when people ask when I'm due I keep saying April by mistake - which was when I was due with the ikkle angel baybee. I'll never forget my babybee but I suppose I wouldn't have this one if I had the last - and how can you choose between your children. Very happy we will all be clutching babies before the half year is out (well nearly for me).

Anyway, do you have Skyplus or similar, Cho? Worth it if you don't already - will be needed for the many hours of sofa time you clock up with boob and newborn.

Muser · 14/01/2011 14:07

Rome is fantastic. The Sopranos also if you've never seen that and Band of Brothers. I rewatched ER recently and it was great, particularly the early seasons. A friend has been trying to convince me that Grey's Anatomy is ace. I quite like House for the odd episode, but it does get quite samey.

Maybe some UK serials? Old classics like Pride and Prejudice, or the Forsyte Saga? Maybe some comedies, bit of Yes, Prime Minister?

LadyGoneGaga · 14/01/2011 14:13

I also took up the Nintendo Wii to pass the time on maternity leave - until the baby arrived then never touched again...

What about the Tudors? Comedies - Peep show, Green Wing, IT Crowd?

owlbooty · 14/01/2011 14:21

Oooh yes, Band of Brothers although it made me cry.

Green Wing?

LadyG When the MW weighed me yesterday I had put on half a stone (gah). However all my clothes still fit so am not suffering from the trouser ishoos you are facing. What I want to know is, where the fuck is the extra half a stone? How lovely being able to tell people though, cannot wait for that.

My EDD from the MC was 21st Jan. Which is 2 days after my scan next week. If I can just get through next week all will be peachy Grin

PerfectDromedary · 14/01/2011 14:22

Glee? Buffy? Angel? Friday Night Lights? Veronica Mars? (realises only watches teen American tv - the horror)!

I am planning to start Grey's Anatomy. And have a Hitchcock fest, which I've meant to do for years. And catch up on my Bollywood.

Am also quite loving The Event at the moment, which TNB is singularly unimpressed by...

Backinthebox · 14/01/2011 14:23

Oh, look, Clucky! You're right up there at the top of the not-list. Hahahahaha! Aaah I'm always here for handholding. And Jagermeister-pouring. Have you told anyone you have only packed Jagermeister in your hossie bag so far Hmm.

Cho I got various series of Dexter and Spooks for Christmas. OH now needs weaning off his box set addiction.

Rocky Love the blog! and the state of your office makes me like you even more.

Ivegotmrbitey · 14/01/2011 15:06

Bt vision has got box sets on demand Cho, they're great. Lots of new things as well as classics. I watched the whole of series four Buffy on it drom over Christmas.

My friend is insistent that vampire porn True Blood starts again tonight, must be on a special sky channel. AIBU to invite myself to her house at ten pm for an hour and a half to watch it?

ChoChoSan · 14/01/2011 15:17

Bitey I think True Blood is starting again on FX tonight, which is past my bedtime, but a friend has just downloaded this series for me. I have the virgin digital set up here, and I can order boxsets from love film.

I might give some of the others a go...

PerfectDromedary · 14/01/2011 15:18

Oooh, had forgotten True Blood! Haven't started watching that yet

Season 4 Buffy = veh, veh good. Apart from squashed-face-Riley, of course. Whiny child.

How does this new-fangled "BT Vision" work, then?

laurielou · 14/01/2011 15:37

Watched the end of Series 2 of True Blood last night. LOVE IT! Acksherlly, think it prolly helped in the ole SWI dept Wink.

Mmmmm, Eric, mmmmmmmmm.

Anyhoo, Dexter is also vay good, & Fringe is quite entertaining too.

Its quite unnerving how quickly you start to move up the list, isn't it? It only seems like last week I was tentatively adding myself to the very bottom, & it was all months & months away.

Mr Loz is cooking for me tonight. How lovely I thought. Until my work colleague asked if Mr Loz was going to the FA cup footie match on Tues. So...... that's his game.

Ivegotmrbitey · 14/01/2011 15:42

I don't really know! There is a box like the sky one in my living room. It pauses and records things and does on demand box sets. These are usually free. I can't get sky or virgin in my area (aka the sticks) so don't know how it compares. I know I won't be able to get the new series of true blood fo' sho'! Riley does have a squashed face doesn't he? I have quite the soft spot for xander still after all these years here he is for anyone else feeling a bit hormonal and nostalgic!

ChoChoSan · 14/01/2011 15:44

True Blood is fab PracticallyPerfect mucho recommendo! When do you finish work sweetcheeks? I was feeling your commuting pain the other day, and I honestly don't know how I would have managed one more commute - increasingly resorting to taking cabs home - at twenty nicker a pop, not really sustainable!

PerfectDromedary · 14/01/2011 15:53

I cabbed home last night! And cried at Waterloo this morning because I ran for the train and missed it. Hormones plus tired = fecking lethal combo.

But big respick to you, ladyCho - you have commuted waaaaaaaaaaaay past the time when I will be calling it quits. I am working until next Thursday and then having AT LEAST five weeks until the baby makes an appearance. You've only got a couple of weeks to go...
