3 weeks, but next week is a 3 day week, and then it's 2 four day weeks. Leaving first week of Feb. I wish I'd said I'd go earlier, but I'm meant to be doing a big event first week of Feb and I wanted to stick around for it. At least I don't have any full weeks to work.

Have you considered seeing an Osteo for the SPD Cho???

I thought I had it last time, albeit mildly - clicky pelvis, agonisingly painful turning in bed and getting in and out of the car but otherwise manageable.
Symptoms seemed to be returning a few months ago & my lovely Osteo lady sorted it for me...she said it was the way the baby was lying. She also sorted the rib pain for Boxer and, when the time comes, she has a few tricks up her sleeve to get things going. Is worth a try Smile

Medee · 16/01/2011 12:15

Morning all, and sympathies on all the aches and pains. You should definitely set a leaving date, gin, especially when it is your own business, and the edges are blurrier between work and home life.

Muser · 16/01/2011 12:51

Afternoon all. Hope you're all having nice Sundays.

OP posts:
milanomum · 16/01/2011 13:28

Afternoon.

May I add my sympathies to the aches and pains too?

kate that definitely sounds uncomfortble but encouraging.

I think it was drom who was worried about crowds - have you seen this? I have a friend who swears by it. Keeps insects out, UV rays at bay and nosy, poking strangers. looks really dark, but doesn't seem to bother her child at all!

milanomum · 16/01/2011 13:29

uncomfortable obviously...

CluckyKate · 16/01/2011 13:49

Is encouraging Milano but I'm not ready yet....still need to pack my hossie bag. Is on my to-do list for tomorrow!!

owlbooty · 16/01/2011 15:07

Clucky make sure you put chinese takeaway menu in hossie bag! V.important. Oooh, and a whole round of brie. And wine. And - nah, that'll be all you need. Except a sieve, according to some of the pregnancy freds. I am very much looking forward to explaining that one to husband. Oh yes.

Milano I am having that thing what you had last week where all barfiness suddenly goes away and is replaced by insane desire to eat everything in sight.

Muse cannot believe you are off work in 3 weeks. I remember when you got your bfp. Seems like 5 minutes ago. Where the bloody hell have all those weeks gone?

rocketleaf · 16/01/2011 17:10

where is cho?

"sieve"? Shock

LadyGoneGaga · 16/01/2011 17:18

Oh, yes Sprocket. You need a sieve . For water births - to scoop out the you know what. And I don't mean the baybee.

Ariesgirl · 16/01/2011 17:26
CurlyCasper · 16/01/2011 17:31

we have a fish tank net that arrived the day after I went into labour. I have packed it away with newborn gear and maternity clothes to hopefully be used next time.

I was quite emotional sorting tiny clothes. They drowned my girl back in June, yet seem minuscule now. i'm actually a wee bit jealous of you all.

CluckyKate · 16/01/2011 17:32

Don't think I'll be queue-jumping just yet Rockabyebaby, just finding it hard to slow down & keep over-doing it - today have taken muttley for long walk, dug out grotty stable and laid down new bed for dobbin. Exhausting!! Will be treating myself to nice hot bubble bath & glass of wine tonight.

Is a spesh occasion Wol so have already got the champers chilling & post-it note on fridge to remind me to put in the hossie bag before we dash out. Have also got bucket of flapjacks & chocolate cornflake cakes (for the carbs) but need to go out & buy other womanly essentials (knicker duvets, boob pads etc.)

Sieve is for lifting "stuff" out of birthing pool [heave] - that's a job for the dads!

Scorpette · 16/01/2011 17:36

Sieve is for water birfs, Rocket. Because all that pushing and thrusting can make other holes produce things...

Snogs and bitchslaps to all, esp. those suffering. I may have psychically transferred mine onto the rest of you for a day as I have actually been okay enough to leave the flat today and walk unaided! Me and TYF went into town with my folks, had lunch, etc. We looked at lots of gorg baybee stuff and decided on lots of stuff, like which cot, etc. Also which pram - we were erring towards the Bugaboo Bee, as I've said before, but we got my parents to look at the ones we liked and my Dad managed to fall onto the Bee and knock it over (don't ask me how), so we've judged it too flimsy for when my parents take The Lad out. Seriously, Channel Five ought to do a documentary on my Dad's almost supernatural powers of clumsiness Hmm. So we're going for the iCandy Cherry in blue (not cos it's a boy, but cos we like it best).

Have been feeling awful and also worried about my consultant's appointment tomorrow, as was taken aside after scan and gently forewarned to prepare myself for it being a grim chat about the state of my health (having my level of disability upgraded, hospital stay, etc.), hence my wibble on Friday, but today has made me confident that if they can do more for my headaches and pelvic probs, then I can cope with all the other problems (although no drucks can sort the fatigue) and stay out of hossie for rest of pg. Even my feet are more normal today, huzzah.

Sorry to be mememe. Was just nice to feel a bit like my old self again today :)

Can't believe so many people are near the finishing line now. Those BFPs seem like yesterday!

Scorpette · 16/01/2011 17:38

Refresh fail - PMSL at 'knicker duvets', Cluckers. The name, not the actual items, yikes! Shock

rocketleaf · 16/01/2011 18:14

Duh, yeah I forgot about the water birth/sieve thing. Was imagining some other kind of torture although not sure what. Hmm

clucks you need to slow down my love, that sounds like a mental day for someone so near the finish line. Mind you I suppose staying active is better for you than sloth. Bubblebath and wine FTW! I am bathing every other day as we had a mountain of lush bombs and things from MIL over Xmas. (obv not wine every other day)

Birds nearly finished! I have made a pattern for a winged one to hang from the bottom, hope it works.

score glad you have had a good day today, loads of luck for tomorrow! I am still confused my the buggy thing, i like the wee ness of the Bee but am wondering if as its quite small Madam will grow out of it quicker.

TB has emptied the loft of all his records, they should be out of the house by the end of the week. Can I just add we haven't had a record player for about 4 years?

Medee · 16/01/2011 19:49

evening ladies.

Scorps - don't apologise for mememe, that sounds a perfectly justified reason to be posting. I'm sure the appointment will go well.

Rocket - can't wait to see the finished mobile, am especially impressed at I have made a pattern for a winged one

We've been decluttering too - more CDs for ebay/ charity shop, and other rubbish chucked out. I now have a box of photos and an old admin file to clear out sitting in the lounge looking accusingly at me.

rocketleaf · 16/01/2011 20:23

Admin file!!! I have an entire years worth of paperwork to file :-( on the upside flying bird is looking good! (priorities you say?)

Scorpette · 16/01/2011 20:55

Cheers for the nice words, my lovelies. Medee, am writing a few notes so I know what to ask, etc., tomorrow. Am going armed with a PMA if nowt else :) Are you going to buy an album for your photos or chuck 'em? I find it impossible to get rid of piccies, however crap or meaningless they are.

Impressed by all you decluttering divas - me and TYF share many traits; unfortunately, 2 of those are procrastination and a tendency to hoard. He's been better than me at clearing out but as I've said before, his instruments take up a whole room. His trombone alone takes up more space than a bassinet! Rocket, am impressed by TB getting rid of all those records; I know what men can be like over records/tapes/CDs, etc. That's true commitment to fatherhood right there! Grin As a writer, I have whole boxes filled with random scraps of paper and used bus tickets scrawled with crap like 'sun on water at 4pm, July, Amsterdam' on them, which I can't throw away as each might hold the key to my groundbreaking literary masterpiece Hmm x 10000.

Apart from Comedy Dad's escapades with the Bee, we also wondered about the length of it too. I am a midget, but TYF is 6 ft 2 and was a tall baby too, so if The Lad takes after him, he might get too long for it v quickly.

PS can't wait to see the finished birdy mobile on your fab blog.

PPS Get chillaxing, Kate (as da yoof no doubt wouldn't say anymore) - it's an ESH order!

Medee · 16/01/2011 20:58

some of the photos are loose, and I'll just keep the ones with people in them, and some are already in albums, but again will only keep those with any kind of significance. Have emptied two albums already. Just no point in keeping them.

I did discover, in one of the albums documenting a school trip to Stratford, that the production of the Tempest we saw not only featured Simon Russell Beale as Ariel (which I did remember) but was also directed by Sam Mendes. I almost certainly didn't appreciate it at the time!

rocketleaf · 16/01/2011 21:07

Yep 3 years of me nagging gentle reminding couldnt achieve what madam has at minus 4 months (with a little translation from me) :o god help him once she's born and the pair of us team up hehe. What you discribed about the bus tickets is pretty much my attitude towards scraps of fabric/paper/ribbon/buttons/beads etc. But I am going to have to be a bit ruthless from now on.

Backinthebox · 16/01/2011 21:19

Do not worry about Cluck, PESH-let's. The power of the FESH is intervening and has biscuits here for her to eat tomorrow while she sits on her bottom practicing holding a baby and I run up and down the lane with her child on a pony. I have seen her twice in the last 3 days, and she has been mostly sitting down and eating stuff then. Wink

Later in the month I will be taking her off in my 4wd to bounce the baby out. Very nearly worked last time too!

Scorpette · 16/01/2011 21:38

Nice one, Boxy Grin

Rocket, at least you could justify all your scraps and stuff as being good craft play stuff for the future. Wink

Forgot to say, my Mum told us summat a bit Shock earlier; we were discussing this whole new grrrr-some BF/weaning bollocks debacle and she said that not only had she been told BFing was dirty and bad for me (I couldn't latch and they refused to help her sort it out) but that everyone was told to get their baybee on solids at ONE MONTH! She said it was awful, as I clearly wasn't ready for it, but the HV kept telling her off and saying ominous things about failure to thrive, etc. Hmmm, surely no link between my lifelong digestive probs, then Hmm (By the time my bro came along, 4 years later, she had the confidence and knowledge to tell them to piss off and to do things her way).

One month, though. Redonk.

Scorpette · 16/01/2011 21:40

PS Oooh, get Medee with her famous theatre-going of yore!

Muser · 16/01/2011 22:15

There has been all sorts of mad advice over the many years. That is why I take everything with a large pinch of salt. I really don't understand the massive fuss that the media has gone into over the when to wean story. Given that only a tiny percentage of women are still breastfeeding at six months why the excitement?
