Muser · 14/01/2011 19:38

Tell us about your sling Gin.

OP posts:
ginhag · 14/01/2011 19:39

I plan to queue jump you with ease dromster (so, that's me going to 42 weeks then...)

PerfectDromedary · 14/01/2011 19:43

Tell me about your ginsling. Is it a hippified one?

NB there were some gorgy photos of moo on FB t'other day. He is a beautiful kid.

ginhag · 14/01/2011 19:44

Thanks muse Grin

It's a close baby carrier. It's like a moby or karri-me, but for idiots who know they would just tie themselves up and trip over if using a 'proper' wrap sling.

And the lady in the shop was soooo lovely and I tried it out with a teddy bear as their fake baby was too big for my huge bump (mooch sat and cuddled the fake baby whilst saying 'this is my baby bruvva' and then put his fingers in it's eyes )

It was great and they said if I'm all worried n menkul when thing2 comes then I can go to the shop and they will gladly help me put it on a thousand times if need be :)

ginhag · 14/01/2011 19:47

Aw thanks drom. I think so too, but am obv a tad biased Grin

PerfectDromedary · 14/01/2011 19:49

Oooh, I looked at those. In the end, I purchased a kari-me, but am yet to tie it sucessfully over enormobump. So you like the closer one?

Baby bruvva - melts. My friend's daughter pats her new baby sister on the cheek while saying "mine, mine" - and only occasionally has to be restrained from whacking the baby a little too hard while shouting "mine".

Muser · 14/01/2011 19:52

Oh I'm jealous. I'm kind of wishing I'd got a Close as I am a bit scared of my Kari-me.

OP posts:
ginhag · 14/01/2011 19:54

Friend had a karri-me and loved it, was what I intended to get but I just liked the way I can get my tiny mind round how this one works fairly easily. Having said that I think karri-me= easier than moby but not sure.

Also excited I think cos I actually bought something for baybee! And a load of dull but important hospital bag nonsense...

ginhag · 14/01/2011 19:55

And it is a suitably grungy charcoal colour Grin

PerfectDromedary · 14/01/2011 20:05

What in hopital bag? Are you making a labour playlist? I have become obsessed with an acoustic version of florence & the machine's rabbit heart and think I need to listen to it lots.

muse have we bought the same sling as well? Mine is navy...

PerfectDromedary · 14/01/2011 20:10

Pretty Florence & the machine .

Medee · 14/01/2011 20:13

I think I am getting a second-hand Baby Bjorn.

Muser · 14/01/2011 20:15

Oh dear Drom. We really need to stop doing this. Yes, mine is navy. I got it off Ebay. We should be getting a secondhand baby bjorn as well. Thirdhand actually, it's been passed around a lot.

OP posts:
ginhag · 14/01/2011 20:21

I have one of those too meds. it's ok but bit hard on my back. Will prob use when thing2 bit older tho.

drom have no plan for labour playlist, not sure if I actually want music. I am very associative (is that a word??) with music so just don't know what it would do to my brain. Classical, or stuff without words, or something...maybe...or not. Mooch's cs was performed to some music I hate, which was fine by me as I wasn't having a great time so any good music then wouldve been spoiled forever! Plus it actually gave me a laugh.

Was just boots shop for hospital bag so far. Breast pads, sanitary towels, lanisoh, arnica, lavender oil, that sort of thing...

ChoChoSan · 14/01/2011 20:34

Well Drom I think I have mild SPD, but quack did not diagnose it , he just said sciatica, but I think deffo a bit of spd due to symptoms. Also feel like I have cracked a rib or two, but can't explain how that came about !

Re. Sling...I want one of those wrappy slings, but not got one yet, will wait to hear how gin getsvon...or until I get sick of pushing pram!

ginhag · 14/01/2011 20:43

Oooooo I also have new boots! Been living in my 5 year old ones all winter, but they wont pass for upcoming tradeshow/meetings... They are kick-arse Grin tho take a while to get on...

ginhag · 14/01/2011 21:08

gurt lush

Muser · 14/01/2011 21:09

Those are fab, very stompy sexy.

OP posts:
ginhag · 14/01/2011 21:16

They also have a side zip. Otherwise I'd be fucked!

PollyPoo · 14/01/2011 22:16

I have severe boot envy now. Envy

rocketleaf · 14/01/2011 22:24

Lovely kinky boots! gin and what mooch said is so very very cute! No, good you didn't make it to physio but then if you don't think she could help spose it wasn't worth the trauma of the journey :( Just wondering did you have to wait long to get it? Had 8 week waiting list when i did y back last time but was wondering if being diffed got you bumped up the list?

Again ashamed of moping about back as really I brought on myself but doing too much when you guys have to drag yourselves into work 5 days a week Blush I know really i am very very lucky! Just need to get my head round the fact i need to be a bit more careful with myself. Haven't quite worked it out

I have bought the kari-me for diffed friend as a pressie between a few of us, so hopefully i will be able to have a practice with it before i need to use on sprout (cunning moi?) But we were in mothercare earlier and she was threatening to buy one so i am going to some how have to put her off til the 28th which is our joint b'day and baby shower celees. Mind you more than one wouldn't hurt i spose.

Looks like i will be going on holiday to lanzergrotty with mum, sis and no.1 niece in feb which is something lovely to look forward too. I was almost tempted to bail on it after today but think I need to HTFU, its not something i will get the opportunity to do again probably and niece is sooo super excited to be sharing a room with me, which its really very sweet :o

Muser · 14/01/2011 22:26

I appear to be bidding on a secondhand close carrier on Ebay. I don't know how that happened. I like the idea of having some options though. But I have a very strict budget and if it goes over I shall not purchase.

And to confirm my copycat status, it's charcoal.

OP posts:
Muser · 14/01/2011 22:27

I think I'm going to get outbid on it though. These things are popular!

OP posts:
rocketleaf · 14/01/2011 22:43

Ebay is the devil like that, especially the iphone app, best to put in your top bid and then switch off computer until its too late.
