This accidental purchasing is clearly a biological imperative. T'other day, I was just walking through the shopping centre and somehow managed to leave it having bought a lovely maternity dress from Top Shop Confused Although if my bump continues at this rate, will have to start shopping at Big Top Shop for industrial circus tarpaulins

I feel all melty imagining The Lad climbing up me for a snuffle, like a little bald monkey baby :) He's extra-active today, which I'm loving (dunno if my bladder agrees, mind).

YAY for top results, Milano! You flaunt that bump.

Bitey, my BMI is slightly higher than yours and I asked my MW if it was a problem - she said now was not the time to start worrying about 'any of that nonsense' and just to keep eating sensibly and enjoy my food to get plenty of nutrients to the baby. She is, shall we say, a fuller-figured lady, so not a friend of the BMI stazi. Everyone should have a hefty MW!

C'mon, Cho and Kate, get laying before the new fred Grin

Oooh, happy Due Date, Kate, btw! Any 'action'?

bitey that sucks, I hope you do complain because if that is standard treatment, that is awful. And even if it is a one-off, it's awful.

muse yes, the crawl thing was mentioned, the teacher has given us a link to look at online about it. There was also a sheet on the information table called Biological Nurturing or something similar, which is the same kind of idea.

CluckyKate · 02/02/2011 19:36

Still here Scorpelino and nothing much happening. Had some reflexology yesterday which kicked off a load of BH last night but amounted to nuffink.
Reflexologist & Osteo booked for tomorrow.....could be MrClucks lucky night too, assuming he can bring himself to DTD (couldn't with LC).

Muser · 02/02/2011 19:38

Get laying Clucky. And Cho. We need some baybees.

Breaking news here - according to the Law of Sod, Clucky will lay her egg tomorrow at sometime between 7am and 3pm, that being the time I will be carless and unable to pick up LittleChick after some pissed up fucking arsehole wanker threw a bottle through my windscreen tonight. I should have made stew, but spent too long sitting on my arse drinking tea and eating biscuits offering moral support to Cluck, so I popped out for takeaway instead. That was when the twat-faced knob hurled his whisky bottle at my car as I drove past the cemetery (tis a favourite with the local kids, to get drunk and scare themselves silly at the spooky village Blair Witch Project stylee cemetery by our house.)

So Cluck, OH is here tonight and I can do child-collecting duties no problem overnight, but you'll just have to cross your legs tomorrow daytime, I'm afraid.

Medee · 03/02/2011 08:42

morning ladies, wonder if there is any news from our imminent layers?

LadyGoneGaga · 03/02/2011 09:46

D'you think that mahoosive cake in BFGW would pose any threat to preggo's?

Tlaking of reckless cake carrying, is GinnyGinGin ok? Been very quiet. Hope you're ok if lurking quietly. And Mistress Cass too.

And hope we get laying news today.

Sorry about the tosser with the bottle, Box. Were you actually driving at the time? I would have seen red and been tempted to actually run him over . But must have been scary. Angry

Muser · 03/02/2011 10:31

I have checked on Ginster Pasty and she is ok, just trying to maintain DHB status in the face of pain and general life hassles. Perhaps we could tempt her out with some nudity and gin based cocktails.

OP posts:
ChoChoSan · 03/02/2011 10:38

Hello PESHes, well, still nothing doing here, and bump still super high up under my rib cage, gaaaaaah, get a move on, indolent baby! Anyway, I'm going to see midwife tomorrow for a fisting sweep, but dint hold out much hope :(

Hoping Cluckster can come up with the goods in the meantime.

Sorry to hear about your windscreen Boxy, little fucking scratters! I'm guessing you are okay, but that must have been a bloody shock!

LadyGoneGaga · 03/02/2011 10:45

Cho was checking out some stuff on Spinning babies yesterday about trying to get babies to tuck their chins in and engage. This might be worth a go to try and encourage baybee to get down a bit?

Good luck with the fisting.

owlbooty · 03/02/2011 10:56

Box the fucking fuckers. That is all.

Italiano a: Mars Bars are good for the baybee. b: I thought you were a week or so ahead of me. Tis v nice that you are not :) We can compare notes as we go along.

Backinthebox · 03/02/2011 10:59

I was driving the car. The windscreen repair man is coming on Saturday but I can be back on LittleChick collection duties from early this evening using Oh's car. It might mean I will have to drive Clucky round in her own car on Saturday though, if the osteo and foot lady double whammy today doesn't work and we resort to plan b - bounce the baybee out by off-roading!

Backinthebox · 03/02/2011 11:01

Ps, I would have jumpednout and decked them, but it was dark and I couldn't see them. It happened just between the village playground and the cemetery, so I reckon it was kids having a drink on the swings in order to get a bit of Dutch courage before scaring themselves witless in the cemetery. Twits. Or something like that.

BarbiesBeaver · 03/02/2011 11:05

"Good luck with the fisting". Please can that be phrase of the day? Hope it does the trick cho and gets baby moving in the right direction.

Ladies who have had previous M/C - Do you think I could request my 12 week scan early in the day, so I don't have to sit in the waiting room reliving it all? I think we will both be shitting ourselves until that particular hurdle is over, and waiting while hundreds of other people come out crowing and brandishing their scan photos will make me mental. I know we get an early scan due to being at FC, but the everything was fine on that one before (heartbeat and all) so I can't think that will calm me down much. Sorry if this is a bit insensitive, I've just been having a few flashbacks. I was quite upset in the car this morning thinking about that fucking awful experience.

BarbiesBeaver · 03/02/2011 11:06

Boxer did you report it to the police at all? You could have been hurt. Stupid little bastards.

CluckyKate · 03/02/2011 11:14

Think the Law of Sod is double-bluffing us Boxer - no indication of imminent laying here....in fact am feeling even less achey that the last few days.
Shitty news on the car front though but glad you're OK - can't believe such fuckers exist in such a lovely village Angry Angry

Just back from osteo - she was ver impressed with my pelvic bone Hmm - and have been shopping on advice of a FESH and bought a HUGE ripe pineapple, clary sage oil and enough raspberry leaf tea to see me through at least another 3 weeks. Foot lady comes in an hour, midwife later (undecided whether to ask for a fisting) and then I may well pounce on MrCluck.

That should do it, no???

LadyGoneGaga · 03/02/2011 11:20

Don't know BB. I had a nuchal scan which was done privately as they don't do on NHS. It is a very small clinic (but very lovely) so there was literally noone there when we went and came out. So may be worth considering? Even a first thing appt in a busy hospital will stil have quite a few women there. From experience NHS tend to be a bit inflexible with scan dates and times but they may be a bit more sympathetic if you explain.

I can empathise though. Walking into the women's unit at the hospital all I could think was that this is where they told me my baby had all gone. I saw the women who scanned me when I had just started to bleed and gave me cold shivers. And not even been into the ultrasound room yet!

If you can afford it I would consider the private option.

Muser · 03/02/2011 11:37

Boxy what bastards, that would have scared the bejeesus out of me.

Barbie I would speak to them and see what they can do. Maybe they might be able to pop you in a less public place while you wait? I really sympathise, I was a wreck at all my scans waiting to go in. The 12 week one was better because it was a different hospital at least. Waiting in the EPU for my 6 and 8 week scan was hideous. It's definitely worth having a chat to them about.

rocketleaf · 03/02/2011 11:39

Ay up ladies, blimey i go of the radar for a day and you guys rack up pages and pages. Fanks for the burfday shout out score I dont mind MN knowing i was 39 yesterday, I double there are only a handful of people on here that care anyway :D Had a lovely day, Mama Mio massage was lovely although i could have just done with an our of back massgae instead of fannying about with legs and arms :o The my BF took me out for lunch then cooked me tea and basically stood in loco husbandis for the day. Was very nice! Although disappointed neither clucky or cho decided to lay yesterday Wink Hope things start moving soon what with fistings and off roading.

Missed the BF convo yesterday, all very interesting stuff. For ME its aways been a no brainer (not judging anyone elses decision!) I will try to BF as i think it'll be easier in the long run and cheaper plus the benefits to my body and the baybees but am aware it wil be tricky to begin with so will persevere as much as I can. I have done quite a bit of reading so feel a bit prepared and will have various people to call on for advise so I am hoping it will go ok but I am not going to cry over spilt milk (sorry) if I really can't manage it. Better to FF than to be stressed imo. Nice to hear from boxerbeat that it can actually feel nice as all you ever seem to hear is that it will make your nipples fall off!! But {shock} abut your car!! Little bastards

bitey sorry to hear about your g'dad and that you can't attend the funeral but glad it was peaceful and a blessed release. At least with having your words read you will still be taking part. (un ESHy hug) I am shocked at your experience at the hospital, really shocked!! well actually not THAT shocked as my one experience of the ante natal care at hospital has been pretty shambolic but have had the rest at childrens centres/GP surgury which seem to be a bit more on the ball. Have you been allocated a specific midwife? If so then go to see her and ask her all the questions you have, if not ring your GP and get them to tell you who you should be speaking to. It is not fair to leave you in the dark like this.

great scan news occers I empathise with the bladder control over riding the emotions as I had mine at 10 weeks and was painfully full. Luckily 20 weeks scan is much more fulfilling and you are right it will be here before you know it! Things sped up somewhat after 16 weeks for me.

booty i am like you, never had dildocam

milano GREAT news on the fantastic bloods. I wonder if I will ever get to know what mine were, here they work on a no news is good news principle which i find particularly frustrating!

Babs Hope you can sort out something for your scan that will make the experience a bit easier. Does no harm to ask, can you speak to MW and see if she is understanding? I had to change the date of mine - just rang up and they were pretty flexible, so maybe if you rang up and changed the date early enough if they weren't booked up you could ask for the first scan of the day?

sorry this is mahoosive, hope I have caught up with everything and it actually makes sense!!
