Oddest sibling set you've come across

I recently met a Tiger and a Bob. Primary aged brothers, both lovely kids.

I also went to school with Claire and her brother Zephyr, and with sisters Beatrice, Georgiana, Victoria and...Cindy. Not short for anything, just Cindy.

Any sib sets you've come across that just don't seem to fit?

I knew a family with very English names for first 3 kids- think Jane, Henry and William and then a final baby came along and she was called Talia same dad etc and not an awful name… just not in keeping with the others.

also know families with matching names for first two then a non matching for third- eg Ruby, Jade and then Helen surely Amber or Saphire etc would fit better??

I always think it's odd when I see the Wayne and Colleen Rooneys kids - Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass - I wonder why Cass wasn't spelt with a K too!

Oneofthesurvivors · 13/02/2024 17:02

I think the whole idea of matching names is really odd.

DiamondGazette · 13/02/2024 17:03

What would Cindy be short for? Cynthia?

mogtheforg3tfulcat · 13/02/2024 17:04

I went to school with siblings called Kelly, Kylie, Kirsty and William. Even as a kid I used to wonder why they hadn't called him Kevin or Kyle or Kody.
Currently know sibs:
Tallulah and John
Hawthorne and Benjamin
Sapphire and Grace

This. They're not kittens or dolls.

A lady I know has 3 children who between them have produced 8 grandchildren. If she ever lists their names, she does it in birth order but it is instantly obvious which ones are siblings. One children has 3 children with very traditional names (Henry is one), another has 2 children with nature names (Wren is one) and then the other child has three children with very unusual names. The grandmother was initially a bit surprised by Wren but now views that as very tame.

I once worked with a woman called Melissa, who had an identical twin sister called Melanie. That always seemed like an odd decision for the parents to make.

wutheringkites · 13/02/2024 18:19

Primrose and Blossom.

Surname: Hill

Aarla · 13/02/2024 18:22

Chelsea, Channel, Chaniece, Chyvonne

IggyAce · 13/02/2024 18:25

My DCs names definitely don’t match, dc1 classic appeared in a Shakespeare play, dc2 American/surname name.

PurBal · 13/02/2024 18:31

Anastasia, Venetia and… bog standard Lucy.

I met someone used her older son’s middle name as her second son’s first. I found that a little odd.
