Oddest sibling set you've come across

I recently met a Tiger and a Bob. Primary aged brothers, both lovely kids.

I also went to school with Claire and her brother Zephyr, and with sisters Beatrice, Georgiana, Victoria and...Cindy. Not short for anything, just Cindy.

Any sib sets you've come across that just don't seem to fit?

Primrose and Blossom.

Surname: Hill

They could have Violet if they are Coldplay fans.

rsih91 · 13/02/2024 18:32

People probably say this about my kids 🤣

2 girls with very classic 'pretty names'

2 boys with unusual names

Anastasia, Venetia and… bog standard Lucy.

I met someone used her older son’s middle name as her second son’s first. I found that a little odd.

This makes perfect sense to me. I regret not naming my son by his middle name and would be very tempted to give it as a name to a new baby. There are so few boys names I like, and I actually like the middle name more.

IamaRevenant · 13/02/2024 19:18

Oh to be clear I'm not suggesting names should match! My siblings' names don't (my parents took turns so we have two classics (mum's choices), and two that are pretty unusual (Dad's). But nothing hugely different in style really.

I just think I would be pretty annoyed if I were Cindy, or one of four Claire/Clares in my class while my bro gets such a cool name.

Tiger and Bob just amused me 😅

I have my sister's middle name as my first! I guess dad just really liked the name.

Apart from.some lighthearted debate over which of us 'owned' the name (the sister who has it first or the sister who uses it every day) it's been fine 🙂

So maybe I belong on my own thread 🤣

I knew 2 sets of sisters called Carol and Karen and 2 sisters called Hayley and Kayley 😁

Lacuranights · 13/02/2024 19:40

Growing up we had neighbours with children called Paul, Paulette and Pauline.

XelaM · 13/02/2024 19:42

Don and Sonny (clearly Godfather fans 😂)

Thecurtainsarewonky · 13/02/2024 19:44

Twins: Oliver and Olivia. Just why?

a combination of children and pets names in our house make up 1/2 the cast of friends.

What would Cindy be short for? Cynthia?

Lucinda.

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 13/02/2024 20:00

My mother was high when I was born and after looking out the window named me Starlight (long since changed)

My siblings, all a good few years older than me, have very normal 70s/80s names like Gary/Laura/Lindsay/Barry. Then me.

Stood out like a neon sign asking for bullying.

MenorcaMarguerite · 13/02/2024 20:00

Lucretia, Polly and Sam.

PrawnDumplings · 13/02/2024 20:01

Aydel · 13/02/2024 17:41

My cousins: Ildiko, Zsuzsanna, Janos and… Kevin.

Eastern European?

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 13/02/2024 20:01

It was something along the lines of Pearl, Ruby, Sapphire and... Janine. I think Janine was named first.

This made me laugh! 'Starlight' juxtaposed with all the ordinary names!

I always think it's odd when I see the Wayne and Colleen Rooneys kids - Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass - I wonder why Cass wasn't spelt with a K too!

I think it’s odd too.
apparently she wanted him to have the same initial as her (C)

Angelmonkey · 13/02/2024 20:03

Boys - Dallas and Devonte, girls - Tennessee, Brittanii and Tuesdaii. Their older siblings were Edward, Harvey and Grace

Sunshineandgin · 13/02/2024 20:04
