Oddest sibling set you've come across

I recently met a Tiger and a Bob. Primary aged brothers, both lovely kids.

I also went to school with Claire and her brother Zephyr, and with sisters Beatrice, Georgiana, Victoria and...Cindy. Not short for anything, just Cindy.

Any sib sets you've come across that just don't seem to fit?

I always think it's odd when I see the Wayne and Colleen Rooneys kids - Kai, Klay, Kit and Cass - I wonder why Cass wasn't spelt with a K too!

I think that too.

Sisters called Orla and Isla. Both lovely names just a little too similar, feels like bit of a tongue twister to say them together.

Theminer · 13/02/2024 21:37

My siblings and I all have the same initial, then my older sibling had 3 children and named all of them with the same initial as us.

LokiCokey · 13/02/2024 21:39

There's twins in my DD's class called Ronnie and Reggie...

2010Aussie · 13/02/2024 21:40

Shane, Wayne, Dwaine and Sharon

My first boyfriend was one of three kids, 2 boys and a girl. His family knew another family who also had 2 boys and a girl. The other family kids were in the same order sex wise but a year or so behind, and their parents named them a version of each of my ex's family's names. So Andrew's counterpart was Andreas, Natalie's was Natalia and Gregg's was Gregoria.

I knew someone who name his first child with his second wife, the male form of a child from his first wife. Ie. George and Georgia

Wheelz46 · 13/02/2024 21:43

I knew twin girls called Polly and Anna.

RainbowConnection1 · 13/02/2024 21:45

John and Jack. How unimaginative can you be?

What would Cindy be short for? Cynthia?

Cinderella 😂😂

ducksinarow123 · 13/02/2024 21:49

I went to school with a Delia, she was the 4th child and her older 3 siblings were A, B and C first letters. I can't remember the actual names though, but it was alphabetical

Sharontheodopolodous · 13/02/2024 21:52

I know of cousins that where born a week apart (born to sisters)

Leo and Leon

Siblings Harper and Parker

She wanted them to 'match' apparently

Weren’t they on Fun House with Pat Sharpe?

OMG is that why her parents did it? I always assumed they were just incredibly odd!

The Melissa I knew was a bit older than me, so she'd probably have been born late 1960s or early 1970s.

JanuarysColdandDark · 13/02/2024 21:54

Ezra and Paul

I knew someone with children with vowel first initials, A, E, I, O, she jokingly (I think!) said she wanted a 5th child but couldn’t think of a U name.

MaryActsLikeSheDontCare · 13/02/2024 21:56

I know of 4 siblings with Irish names, e.g, Tomás, Saoirse, Ciarán, Caoimhe (not their actual names, but very similar) and then they called the final baby “Bobby” (his actual name). I thought it was an odd choice and presume he must be named after someone

Clearinguptheclutter · 13/02/2024 21:57

My pair are quite odd as one is very welsh and one is very English. However they were the only names we could agree on.

rainbowbee · 13/02/2024 21:57

Older people but a whole family called similar names. I think they had a John, a Janine, a Joanne and a Janet.
I know a sibling set called Fionnuala, Fintan and... Phoenix. (Two classic Irish names in Ireland and then a mythical bird. Also two Finns as shortened forms).
I know an Ella and Sam and no-one thought that through.
Parents called Gwyneth and Ken who named their kids Benjamin and Jennifer.

herewegoagainy · 13/02/2024 22:01

Stephen and Stephanie.

ButtermilkBeetroot · 13/02/2024 22:04

Went to school with Zarah and Sarah.

I worked with a Shauna and her twin brother Shaun.. She always insisted it was pronounced 'Sharna'.

Ophy83 · 13/02/2024 22:10

Harry, Jack and Princess Coco

Aydel · 13/02/2024 17:41

My cousins: Ildiko, Zsuzsanna, Janos and… Kevin.

I met an Ildiko a year or two ago. I thought it was a lovely name. She was Hungarian.

Sib sets I have come across:
Natasha and Matthew - just seems like an odd combo
Jack and Jill

And I almost forgot John, Matthew and Mark. They never got around to Luke, as far as I know.

Wheelz46 · 13/02/2024 22:25

The A.E.I.O.U has just reminded me of someone who named her children so that their first initials together spell out XMAS.

The names are lovely and do flow together really well.

lirp · 13/02/2024 22:28

I taught a child Aston.

Brother was Bentley.

Sister was Porsha.

ignatiusjreilly · 13/02/2024 22:28

Ross, Russ, Reece and Ryan
