I met a child called La-a. With that spelling. Pronounced Ladasha.

I kid you not - this was in a professional capacity and that was how her name was written on her records.

I still can't quite believe it!

Sorry, apologies if I have offended anyone with this, I didn't know it was an urban myth, but I've just looked it up online and you're right.

But this is actually true and it was a white child.

The La-a thing comes up on every one of these threads. But in reality there’s never been a baby names that in the UK.

A friend taught a ‘Princess Beautiful’ and the parent complained because he called her Princess and not her full name of Princess Beautiful. Batshit

I didn't know this and will just duck out of the thread now. I didn't mean to offend anyone but I did meet a child with this name - maybe her parents had named her after the myth or something, I'm not sure.

Leaf. Loki. Biscuit.

I wish I was joking.

I've heard many more weird names but I can't think straight at the moment. So many chavvy names out there like champagne and Porsche and Toyota lol

You are not offending anyone.
if you saw/met the name then that’s all there is to it.

In the late 70s I went to school with an American boy called Adolf, pronounced Ay (as in "hay" or "say) dolf.

My friends little girl is called Ghettie, just like Spaghetti. My friend said she heard the name while they were on holiday in Rome! But it’s definitely not an Italian name or a name at all really. Her little girl is wonderful though.
