I'm sure there has been many threads on this already.. read this morning that Mary is the hot favorite for girl & Henry for a boy.
Love Mary hope they use it, Princess Mary nice, fresh & underused, would be nice for Mary to have a comeback. Alice next at 6/1, prefer Mary.

Well If I were Kate, I'd have Adelaide at the top of the list but Mary is a very good choice too.

DanceDisaster · 08/04/2018 10:59

I love the name Mary! Henry is a nice tribute to Prince Harry too.

I think Mary is slang for vulva in some parts of England though... Wonder if they might avoid for that reason.

BerriesandLeaves · 08/04/2018 11:09

I love the name Mary.

RapunzelIsHere · 08/04/2018 12:10

I don’t think it will be Mary. Mary is classic but outdated, unlike George and Charlotte. George is very popular now and Charlotte is used a lot more than Mary.

Alice could definitely be a contender.

NapQueen · 08/04/2018 12:12

Not Mary! That was the nickname for girls bits growing up as kids.

Alice is lovely. As is Henry.

Rainbowqueeen · 08/04/2018 12:14

I really hope they do something " non Royal"

This baby is most unlikely to ever sit on the throne so I feel they could try a new name. Their style seems very classic but there are lots of gorgeous classic names that have never been used by the royal family

Hope we don't have to wait much longer!

Wizzwazzwas · 08/04/2018 12:16

Alice or Alexander

DanceDisaster · 08/04/2018 12:20

Isn’t one of George’s middle names Alexander though? Would they use again?

I thought maybe James, but apparently it would make some sort of undesirable political statement if they did? Don’t know.

Alice was one of the favourites when they had Charlotte wasn’t it? I know sisters named Alice and Charlotte. They were both born before any of the royal children.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 08/04/2018 12:41

I don't think that it is a problem for them to choose as a first name one they've already used as a middle name. Prince Andrew has Edward as a middle name, didn't stop The Queen using it for her next child's first name.
I'm also not convinced that they would avoid any potential names for 'political ' reasons. There was a bit of an outcry when William himself was named, due to the situation in Ireland, but that didn't stop Charles and Diana using it.
If you look at the names currently in use within the Royal family, many of them are duplicated across generations, first names, middle names, so I think Kate and William will just go with what they like without worrying too much about other considerations.

TheMythicalChicken · 08/04/2018 12:44

What about Victoria? Or Elizabeth, nn "Lizzie"?

LexieLulu · 08/04/2018 12:53

I'd rather they didn't use Alice as that is my DD name.

When I was pregnant with my son, he was going to be called George, but Prince George was born a few months before so I didn't want to use that name.

I don't know why, it's a lovely name! Maybe I was worried about popularity afterwards.

Please be Mary if it's a girl 😂

NapQueen · 08/04/2018 12:57

I reckon....
Alice Mary Caroline
Arthur Henry Charles

eddiemairswife · 08/04/2018 13:01

I'd forgotten about the pregnancy until I saw this. Baby won't be called Kylie or Ryan.

Threeandabit · 08/04/2018 17:27

I know they won't use it, but I would use Angela. It was a middle name of the queen's mother, and I love it!

Didntcomeheretofuckspiders · 08/04/2018 19:08

Ooh Three I actually think Angela would be lovely.

My money is on Alice or Harriet for a girl. Henry or Oliver for a boy.

NapQueen · 08/04/2018 19:09

Harriet would be a great choice.

NapQueen · 08/04/2018 19:10

I wonder when the baby will arrive. Im sure i read somewhere its this month but cant imagine its too late into it as surely H&M wedding wouldnt be booked for say 2 weeks after the due date.

ourkidmolly · 08/04/2018 19:11

I think Alexandra.

FoofFighter · 08/04/2018 19:22

Alexandra for a girl I think.

Not sure about a boys name, Albert perhaps?

MissEliza · 08/04/2018 20:42

I'm convinced she's carrying a boy! Her bump is too neat. I'm sure many will disagree with me. I think James would be a lovely name but I think Edward's son is called James.

Onceuponatimethen · 08/04/2018 20:44

I love Mary!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 08/04/2018 20:47

It’s won’t be James

Edward’s son and Kate’s brother are both called James.

ReversingSnail · 08/04/2018 20:53

Angela or Victoria are my favourites so far.

RuthW · 08/04/2018 21:06

I think Alice or Victoria or Mary, Arthur or Alfred.

bridgetreilly · 08/04/2018 21:22

Her bumps have all been very neat, though.

I'd be very surprised if they pick Henry as a first name, though I could see them choosing it as a middle name.

Eleanor Alice Mary
Richard Michael Philip
