I'm sure there has been many threads on this already.. read this morning that Mary is the hot favorite for girl & Henry for a boy.
Love Mary hope they use it, Princess Mary nice, fresh & underused, would be nice for Mary to have a comeback. Alice next at 6/1, prefer Mary.

I think they might pick Henry - harry is most definately a harry so it’s be fine to have the same formal name.

Mamabear4180 · 08/04/2018 21:54

I don't think they'll pick Henry but I have no idea what they might choose for a boy.

I don't think Mary, it's too dated. Alice is possible as it fits with George and Charlotte.

bananasandwicheseveryday · 08/04/2018 22:09

I like Mary - a classic name and a nod to the Queen's much loved grandmother. Alexandra is also a good royal name and the fact that George has Alexander as a middle name shouldn't matter.
For a boy, David is popular within the family - I believe it's one of Harry's middle names. I wouldn't rule out Philip either.

Butterymuffin · 08/04/2018 22:13

Love Mary, definitely due a comeback. I think Philip could be a goer for a boy too.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 08/04/2018 22:47

James Francis Henry/
Helena Victoria Maria.

elQuintoConyo · 08/04/2018 22:51

Hedwig for a girl.
Alladyce for a boy.

Sophronia · 09/04/2018 00:00

I think it will be Alice, Eleanor, Matilda or Helena for a girl and Arthur or Frederick for a boy.

Alice Philippa Mary or Arthur Philip Henry.

toffee1000 · 09/04/2018 00:08

They may use Mary as a middle name. The Queen is Elizabeth Alexandra Mary. George has Alexander as a middle name (obv male form of Alexandra) and they used Elizabeth with Charlotte (obv Kate is also Elizabeth but it's a v common middle name. They may use Philip or Arthur for a boy's middle name (after William and Charles). Or of course they could use Charles.
Who knows. They could well go a little untraditional, after all they've got a Zara, an Isla and a Savannah in the family.

HappydaysArehere · 09/04/2018 00:21

Victoria, Alexandra or even Diana as first name.

barefootcook · 09/04/2018 00:37

Frederick?

applesandpears56 · 09/04/2018 04:44

Aww - would you call your baby the same name as your brother?! (James Middleton)

toffee1000 · 09/04/2018 05:04

They could do, but Prince Edward’s son is called James. Could be a middle name I guess.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/04/2018 06:36

I didnt even know KM had a brother. I thought there was only her and Pippa. You learn something everyday, i suppose.
There's nothing wrong or unusual about sharing a name with your uncle/aunt. Thousands of people are named after close relatives, aren't they

Ladywillpower · 09/04/2018 06:48

Alice Mary Frances

ButterflyOfFreedom · 09/04/2018 06:51

I was thinking Alice or Alexander.

Or maybe Sophia or Arthur.

Thebirthdayparty · 09/04/2018 08:27

I really doubt they would be put off the classic name Mary because of some nickname that was used in some parts of the UK.

Was George a popular name before they used it? It certainly increased in popularity since they used it.

I remember reading Kate’s favourite gurl’s names were Alice and Rose. It is doubtful they would use Rose but Alice has to be a contender.? Let’s face it, they are the most staid and boring couple, they will definitely stick to traditional royal names.

Louis for a boy and maybe they would throw in a Michael as a nod to Kate’s father.

Eatmycheese · 09/04/2018 09:50

Think Philip James is a strong contender for a boy
Alice Philippa for a middle name if it’s a girl. Possible a Victoria somewhere or Anne? No Carole though 😉

grassnotgreener005 · 09/04/2018 10:20

Prince Phiillip's mother was Alice & according to the Crown she was eccentric & an embarrasment to the royal family, so maybe they won't use this... Matilda was suggested up thread, this would be lovely & fit nicely George & Charlotte

Prince Phillip's mother was awarded a medal by the state of Israel for giving refuge to Jews in the Second World War. I'd be proud to name my child after a relative like that. Don't rely on the Crown for information about the royal family.

GrooovyLass · 09/04/2018 11:07

I guessed George and Charlotte correctly but I can't decide with this one. For a girl I thought Alice or Victoria but didn't know about Philip's mother.

For a boy I don't think Henry because it's Prince Harry's name. I had thought James but didn't know about Prince Edward's son and I think it's unlikely now.

If we think King's names we have to go back to Richard I think before we find a name that isn't currently used by one of the Queen's sons or grandsons already. Edward VIII's real name was David but even now I think it's unlikely they'd want that association. George VI's real name was Albert and there hasn't been one of those for a while.

TLDR: I think Alice or Victoria for a girl, Richard or Albert for a boy.

Plus I'm way too invested for someone who always says they can't be arsed with the Royal Family 😆😆😆

turnipfarmers · 09/04/2018 11:12

I can't imagine them having a Prince Albert

I think Arthur Philip or Alice Mary

RedDwarves · 09/04/2018 11:13

I think Alice, Eleanor, Matilda or Alexandra would all be more likely than Mary.

Mary just doesn't fit with George and Charlotte.

No idea for a boy. Frederick?

turnipfarmers · 09/04/2018 12:57

So, any bets on the baby arriving today then?

Frederick/Freddie has a historical precedent I think.

MissEliza · 09/04/2018 13:13

Ooh I like Freddie but Prince Freddie seems a bit weird. Maybe that's because I'm not used to it.

dotdotdotmustdash · 09/04/2018 13:24

Diana?
